Upon arriving for a 10:00 a.m. appointment for an inner and outer car detail booked months ago, I was informed it would be ready in 6 hours. After calling at 3:45 p.m. (nearly 6 hours later), I was informed the outside had not even been started. I informed Bree that I did not want the outside done and would pick my car up immediately to which she said her manager (name to be disclosed after I pick my car up) told her I would still be charged for the outer detail. The unprofessionalism and audacity of this place which is well overbooked and understaffed deserves a public outcry. The 1 star is left only because 0 is not an option.

The service and quality of the hand wash used to be great. Today I gave them a second chance after having a bad experience about a year ago. The wash I received today was horrible. Too much to list, but for example, the car went in with wheels covered in break dust and it came out with wheels covered in break dust. Service hasn’t been good ever Seinfeld the son took over.

Washed my truck okay. People acted a little remedial. I overstand its a post pandemic, Um hire better

The young lady who was managing the business/taking payments today was unprofessional in multiple ways. Usually the overall service I receive at this car wash would outweigh one negative experience but it was so bad today. She did not greet me, got aggressive with another employee in front of me, and was not foreword with thanking me for payment after two transactions... one for the car wash, and another for money to tip the service employee with. I’m displeased and hope this improves!On a side note, the young lady who serviced the vehicle and the guys who vacuumed before the wash all provided good service.

The machine car wash i use to frequent in Merriville closed and I not mad about now that I’ve discovered the Portage Car Wash! The Works+ wash has my car glowing, even after a 2-hour (bug splattering) drive and through the rain back to Indy! The inside could’ve been whipped down a bit more but not mad at all for the price! I will be returning every time I take a trip back North

Dont go here if you are in a hurry. They do a pretty good job on hand wash and wax. Sometimes they overlook details like crumbs in the center console. They have the Express machine wash, but I can appreciate a place that washes by hand.Update: my previous review was 4 stars but now, I may have to stop coming here. Went in for a hand wash. My car was right behind a mill workers car. Now I have lime spots on my car that has never been in the mills. Its only in the front so it must have been splashed from the car in front of mine. I spend the extra money for the hand wash to better protect my vehicle, and now this.

These guys are awesome! Just a little too quick on the vacuuming and leave too much behind.

Cheap but they did not do a good job.Streaks fingerprints bugs spots. Basically looks like it was ran through a cheap automatic car wash not even the deluxe package. Okay job with the floor mats vacuuming not so great. I dont know is what it is but would not go here again.

Horrible, absolutely horrible, they ripped the carpet, and mat in my car, and did not replace it, they ripped the felt right out of my middle consul, like who does that? Never again, I will never recommend or come here again, if you have the chance to go somewhere else, go while you still can.

Dont care for The Works service. I think it could be better.I feel ripped off.Drive & Shine in Schererville has a much better deal.I pay $25 to get my car washed, windows cleaned inside, floors and seats vacuumed, and the interior gets a wipe down.Wont be coming here again.

Was there on Friday morning 4/23/21. They were running two lines. They were not rotating cars so my line was at a stand still for quite a while. I said something to the female cashier. She didn’t even acknowledge me. She was too busy on her cell phone.

Service was outstanding. Brought my car in that is driven daily to the steel mill having a combination of powdered lime and milk dirt all over it. Lets just say by the end of my visit you wouldnt even know that my car had been into a steel mill. It was well worth the time and money it took to get it cleaned up. I would certainly recommend this place to everyone that I work with.

Paid for a works plus no tire shine and the inside back window was not done. And asked that they get the inside of my rims wiped down and it was not done. This place just isnt the same.

I asked for the full service car wash ($14) and the triple coat wax ($4) but they did not activate the triple coat. No big deal, I told the friendly cashier and she did not charge me for it. The girl that dried the car missed the back window and back bumper but did a great job wiping down the dash and inside of the windows.

Always disappointed when I leave. Not one aspect is ever done well plus I find the rates to be costly compared to what Im used to in Chicago. This is probably the last time I come as a new place in Gary/Miller just opened up closer to my home with good reviews. I think the picture attached says it as all and it actually doesnt even do justice to how poor a job they did.

My sister had first told me about Portage car wash last year, it was a couple of months before the Covid19 they did a wonderful job. I went back yesterday and I was in a hurry to get other things taken care of and today I had to take my car back because they missed almost everything inside the car and still didnt get it very well at all. Great place to get my car cleaned!

Every time I have my car hand wash Im always having to dry it again and the inside is very poorly cleaned. They rush to get done but have there hand out waiting for a tip!. Will not go there anymore!. Looking to opening my own car wash in Portage with the same services and more but employees that give better customer service along with cleaning skills and quick thinking without being told what needs to be done or was missed!. Hope to break ground in April 2020. Airport and Rt.6Hope to see us all grow together!.

Best place around when it comes to a full service carwash

Clean, friendly and efficient. Dirty cars turned into clean and Shiny cars. Plenty of extras available like hand-dry and fresheners. On the way to the cashier, there are all kinds of things you might need for your car along with snacks and drinks. An enjoyable place.

The Portage Car Wash on Route 6, was a great place to have my truck washed. The staff was hustling. They washed the truck good on the outside and hand wiped it down. Open the doors and wiped and vacuum. It was pretty busy that day and those young people were moving fast.

They say they clean your car mats when you pay for the works but my mats were never touched pretty disappointed because thats pretty much the reason I went there in the first place since they were messy from soccer besides the fact of getting my car actually washed and hand dried

My jeep came out sparkling clean!! But I had a paper plate on the back of it like I was told to do. Well it got taken off by all of the brushes. I noticed it was off, and the manager acted immediately and found it. So I just ask that they ask everyone who gets service is to make sure they take the paper plate off.

I use to go here all the time, and usually get a really good job. But for some reason today was not a good day. The outside was and is always good. But the inside was a total waste of money. The vacuum job was only half done. The console had streaks. And they left 3 candy wrappers on the floor. This was my winter time go to place. But I think its time to find a new one. At least when I need to get the inside done.

I Live In Michigan And I Was Here To Visit My Brother-in-law. I Wanted To Have My Truck Detailed My Brother-in-law Knew The Owner. I Wanted My Truck To Look Like New Again. When I Picked It Up It Was Still In Side. I Thought It Looked Perfect I Was So Happy. But When I Got Home It Was In The Sun And When My Husband Looked He Showed Me The Hood Was Not Done. It Still Had The Swirls Marks From The Car Wash. I Havent Been Able To Get Back To Show Them Yet But Hopefully I Will Soon.

Pretty good and they get your car in and out. My only complaint is that sometimes Ive had to wipe my dash and or center console, and sometimes their vacuuming misses some areas... I think the prices arent bad. They have cards and candles for sale in the lobby.

The outside of my van was only 80% clean. The guy at the end had to wipe the rest off. The vacuum job was very poor. The guys at the end did wipe the inside down good. The service at the beginning is poor but the service at the end was good.

Got my seats shampooed and they were supposed to do the interior windows. It wasnt done very well and you can tell the guy rushed and missed spots. I guess its better than when I brought it to him, but not great.

Their brushes or pads, whatever goes over the top and across the trunk needs to be REPLACED!!!! Something in them scratched my brand new car. Not the first time either. Other cars I have had were also scratched. So yeh I know back to hand washing and waxing myself!!!!

I got a great wax job, I watched the boys work, for the money you cannot beat it. All of the people working there looked to be very conscientious.

Got my car hand washed and vacuumed, the price was good, but they didnt do like I remembered... didnt dry both door jambs and never opened the trunk. All in all, I would recommend stopping there to get your vehicle washed.

One of the best places to get your car washed if your not wanting to due it at home or cant due it yourself. I worked there many years ago so I guess thats one big reason I still return to have my car washed. They due a great job, and if you dont like it say something they will try everything they can to fix the problem and satisfy you as a customer.
