This gym is OK. There is not enough equipment, the gym is tiny and it was ver dirty. Honestly wouldn’t come back. Make sure to do the trial before you enroll. The staff was nice but they don’t explain anything when you first come in (hours, classes, prices on different memberships, contracts, private sessions, etc..) they just make you sign and that’s it. Expected more..

It’s actually a nice gym for the amazingly low price. Large space and great selection of machines. Maybe a little dirty and they are not 100% in terms of fixing broken things, but you get what you pay for. But when I tried to cancel my membership, though, they convinced me to put my membership on hold, then continued to charge my card through the hold period. I sent them three emails, one paper letter and a phone call, and have gotten no real response. I’ll get my money back one way or the other, but just annoying to deal with.

Love this gym! Due to my location I rotate between this one and the one in Norwalk, CT. Its a bit ironic though because they only 1 cable tower, while the Norwalk location has 4(which I think is a record btw lol), but this location has the seated cable chest press which is one of the most useful chest machines you can find. And the Norwalk location doesnt have this machine, its a hard to find machine but provides the same ROM as dumbbell presses but MUCH, MUCH safer and maybe even better for your core. I also think they have more free weight/adjustable barbells at Norwalk but more weighted (unadjustable) barbells at this one; like the EZ curls. So its pretty sweet that they actually compliment each other in that sense, not sure if thats done on purpose. Both excellent gyms though!

Came in with a free pass to try out the gym and they didn’t bother to even BRIEFLY show me around, they just said you’ll all set go ahead and left me on my own. How do they expect to have anyone join? It wasn’t a good feeling but putting that aside, it’s an okay gym. Only thing they have over planet fitness is the free weights.. I wish they had an empty free for all area to stretch and workout with mats provided like planet fitness. Also, the sanitation stations are not so easily seen especially to a newcomer. Needs work.

TLDR: almost impossible to quit this place, join at your own risk.Facility is fine but they make it VERY difficult to cancel your membership. I looked online on how to cancel and it said to email Crunch so I did. After still getting charged despite two such messages I went in person to cancel and was told that the manager had to be there, and of course they werent that day (Saturday). Naturally the manager is only available at days/times I am working so its hard to come in. When I call during my lunch to try and come in quickly of course they are busy.Making people jump through all these hoops to quit, especially during COVID, is just malicious and greedy.

Attended Absolution and Pilates this morning and wish these classes were held daily. The instructor is par excellence and my knee (with a meniscus tear) is more flexible after these classes. Private classes have helped as well. Please continue with absolution and pilates daily - your disciple. The yoga instructor today was fabulous and the one on Sunday was very good too. I was able to walk down a few stairs one foot at a time after the yoga class today. Crunch should be classified as an essential business - its a healing place.I was able to run down the stairs in Crunch today. Thank you for the great exercise regimen yesterday and today!Ive heard from the grapevine that spring sessions are being scheduled. The two hour St. Pattys exercise session was awesome. If I could give this gym less than 1 star, I would. They are a complete disregard for their clients, a lack of communication skills, and human decency. I am trying to cancel a membership. I have called multiple times with no return phone call. I emailed the manager and got no email back. The front desk tells me the manager is too busy. They also stated that due to the pandemic they extended my contract so I now have 7 months left on it. It should have ended in January. I will be moving out of Port Chester in 3 months and am stuck paying for a facility I cannot even use. The guy at the front desk basically told me there was nothing else that could be done.

What can I say about Crunch fitness. Ive been a member of this gym for over four years now. The membership fee is $10/month and you get what you pay for. The gym is mediocre.Pros: Parking: Lots of it and free. At other gyms I went to I had to pay for parking and when youre going 5 days a week, it adds up.Staff: friendly and cool. Ive done several of the classes and they were all great, with motivated staff. I feel that the staff is good, in spite of poor management.Classes: The classes are free with membership. They seem real good.Price$Hours: Good & convenientLocation is goodCardio: lots of treadmills, elliptical, stair climbersCons:Equipment maintenance: no planned maintenance on equipment. This place is an insurance claim waiting to happen. The equipment not maintained, especially anything with cables. The machines that contain cables come with instructions on how often the cables must be maintained, how to inspect the cables, etc. There is no way that is being done at Crunch Port Chester. That is a direct reflection on management at this gym. Hope their liability insurance is up to date.Equipment: Nothing ever gets fixed here. If its broken, it stays broken for AGES. Whether its a piece of gym equipment, a locker in the locker room, the water fountain, etc. It takes so, so long to fix it.Access to the gym: Over half the floor space above and below restricted to personal training. Its a cash grab for the personal training program. I used to be able to go to a field turf area to stretch out before a workout, but no longer, how my access is blocked. Doesnt Crunch know the importance of proper stretching both before and after a workout? Seemingly not.Cleanliness: Dirty. Chalk everywhere, plastic bottles, just general dirtiness.Overall I give this gym a 3/5 stars. You cant ask for much at their price point. If you are looking for a place to run on the treadmill or hit the stair climber for an hour every day to lose 20 pounds, this is the place for you. If you are a serious body builder, perhaps look elsewhere.

Gym is average. Feels claustrophobic, dirty, machines always broken and takes ages to be repaired. Manager Alex and fitness manager Tracy do not seem to understand to keep members happy. Neither offer new gym glasses and try to keep the most popular instructor (Carter) from implementing new ideas. I wouldn’t be at Crunch if it wasn’t for Carter’s classes. If you have issues, forget Crunch or corporate (Fitness Holdings) to assist. Lauren, corporate fitness director, assumes she is beyond reproach and believes she has final say. The only thing she has is attitude with a side of ineptitude. Too bad the previous manager was relocated to Pennsylvania...he was amazing. Corporate, if you read reviews, take heed what members are writing.

This crunch has the type of customer service every business should have. I have a membership in another location and do not have the upgraded membership that allows me to use any location. I recently moved and wanted to switch my membership to port Chester. Although they were unable to switch my membership on their end they explained to me that I needed to contact my old crunch and have them transfer me. Be that as it may they still let me work out for the day and even let me borrow a spare lock for their locker room. Staff was friendly as could be and extremely helpful. This experience will be a factor if I ever move again and have to make a choice between a crunch and any other gym.

Ive been a member here for over 2 years now and I honestly dont see why this gym gets flak. Aside from plenty of parking and it being low cost $9.95-$24.95, the gym is well maintained considering the use it goes through on a daily basis. Yes, the personal training area is cut off to members during its prime time hours(which Ive noticed is from 5 to 7), but it in no way shape or form would interrupt your routine as there is plenty of machines and weights on the floor. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and calls me by name every time I come in which makes it feel that much more welcoming.I especially would like to give credit to the manager, Jonathan. New equipment is being ordered and updated every couple months which keeps the gym fresh and updated. At least the couple times Im there, he is sweeping the locker room, or lifting the treadmills up for them to be vacuumed which shows me he actually cares about the facility.

My experience with Crunch Port Chester was terrible. The manager (George) and staff gave me a very difficult time as well as misleading information when it came to placing my policy on hold (since I will be away for the next few months). The manager was rude, blamed me (the customer), and defended his employees rather than find mutual ground and come to a reasonable solution. Further, at no point did he apologize for his employees providing misleading information thus resulting in me paying for an extra month of gym membership, despite notifying them I will be away. The basic principles behind Management 101 teaches a potential manager to analyze the information provided by the customer and draw a conclusion based on this information. The manager in this case did the complete opposite and treated me as if I was never a “paying customer.” He did not let me finish explaining my situation and became highly defensive, rather than trying to help me. Managing a gym with a national brand requires an individual not only with fitness training experience but with a background in business and customer relations. In summary, the staff at this location are incompetent when it comes to company policy. Majority of the employees seem like recent high school graduates with no understanding of professionalism or any idea of how a business is expected to treat a customer. Further, they do not have any knowledge of the companys policies. This specific location needs to hire better personnel and do a better job screening potential employees. Typically, this stems from management.I am very disappointed by the negative treatment from the management and employees at this location. I do not recommend this location to anyone.

This Crunch location is a franchise location. I was able to easily register online; however, when I went to cancel my membership, I was not able to discontinue my membership online or via phone. The only way to end your membership is to go into the physical gym and request to cancel it or to send a letter through certified mail. This prevents those who are no longer in the region from easily canceling the membership. Your only option is to write a letter, go to the post office, and send it through certified mail. This is a deliberate tactic to keep busy people from ending the membership, which allows the franchise to receive passive revenue. After calling both Crunch headquarters and the franchise main office, I was told my credit card would continue being charged, even if I stated over the phone or email that I wanted to cancel my membership. In my opinion, if the organization accepts new members via phone/online, then one should be able to cancel membership in the same fashion.

The instructors of crunch fitness in Port Chester are great, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. It wasn’t until I had an encounter with the manager, Jonathan Cardona that made me write this review and make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I only go for their amazing classes however I was running 5 minutes late. There were two staff members working at the front counter one of them had a long line of customers and the other one (the manger, Jonathan) had none. I scanned my card and ask for ticket to take a class. He said I had to wait on the other line that was almost out the door. So I ran to my class and thought I’d get a ticket afterwards. The ticket is really not an admission ticket but more to see how many people attend. Half way through my class I see the manager is starring at the room where the class was being held. It was very uncomfortable having him starring while working out. This surprised me because Crunch Fitness’ modo is “no judgements”. That’s not the feeling I got while attending my class. Once my class was done I went to the front desk and the manager was waiting for me. He said “I need to speak to you” in a demanding way and in front of all his male staff. He took me into an empty room and rudely spoke to me about needing a ticket. I simply said “ok”. When I left I said hello to one of the other staff members. I’m not sure if it made the manager mad but within minutes of saying hello to another staff member the manager had sent me an email threatening to revoke my membership because of a ticket. I felt the manager was harassing me by going to my class, waiting for me afterwards and send me a rude email.

I joined this location after being a member at Crunch White Plains for about three years, until it closed around a year ago iirc. As someone who lost over 120 pounds with diet and exercise alone (over several years), I take my gym routine very seriously. I go daily (seven days a week, holidays included). I liked the old location, but this is even better.Staff are super friendly, machines are ALWAYS available, facility is clean, parking is legit a breeze. One of the managers, Jonathan, always calls me by name when he sees me, which is an incredibly nice gesture and one that I have not experienced at other gyms Ive used over the years. In terms of location, I actually spend less time door-to-door going here than I would at the old White Plains location due to the horribad parking garage situation that place had going LOL!I also have to spend a little time on mentioning how considerate the staff here are. When it was closing, one of the White Plains Crunch associates, Jonny, suggested I look into transferring my membership to Port Chester and mentioned how nice their facilities were, since he works at both locations. He also mentioned how easy parking is there (as parking is a primary concern for me when it comes to gym memberships in this area and he remembered I had mentioned that previously). At that time, I had already signed up with NYSC at their Hawthorne location, and I thought the drive from White Plains to Port Chester would be too much for me. However, once he suggested I check it out, I decided to give it a try. Long story short, decided to cancel the NYSC membership I was carrying along with the Crunch one, and stick with Crunch alone. Definitely happy with that decision, especially since the rate is way better here, plus the amenities, atmosphere, service and transit time (due to traffic on 287), are ALL exponentially better. As for amenities: Parking is flawless. And free. Even on busy weekends, I never have an issue getting a spot and the parking is open air, which is a nicer environment than the stuffy garage in White Plains. Plus, I never worry about a road rage incident due to a dramatic encounter with crazy Walmart shoppers, unlike I had to deal with in White Plains... I do use the tanning here, and it has always been clean and is VERY strong. So big bonus on that since its included in my membership. As I stated earlier, the machines are great, well maintained, and its never so busy you cant get the one you want.As an update to my previous review, I started doing personal training sessions with one of the trainers, Carter. Ive been working out with him once a week for the past 6 weeks and am totally happy with that decision. I had done personal training years ago, but I wanted to get more confident on free weights because that entire section intimidated me LOL. So the Crunch manager, Jonathan, recommended Carter because hes great with the free weights and getting members up to speed on them. So far, I can see some gains in my arms and chest, which are the primary groups Im working. However, the biggest benefit has been feeling confident enough to use that equipment, since I can work out on it on days when I dont have a session with Carter. Also, Carter told me he used to be a bodybuilder, so that skillset is incredible to have. Highly, highly recommend him.tl;dr: Former Crunch WP member who switched to this location. Use the gym daily (7 days a week), so I can be kinda picky lol. But... I am completely satisfied. Highly recommend this Crunch. A+.

It wll be intersting to see if there are any improvements in the near future. Stay tuned.Classic case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. Its inexpensive, but not the best value for a variety of reasons. Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals, but not nearly enough upright bikes. Free weight area is frequently very overcrowded in the evenings. Has weak wifi that you have to log into every time you go to the gym and sometimes login fails for no apparent reason. Too much of the equipment is poorly maintained. The covers on the benches have been fraying apart for months. Machines squeak and work poorly for lack of proper maintenance. The filters in the water fountains go unchanged for days at a time.
