These guys are the very best! We have been using them for the last few years and we couldn’t be happier with their service! They always get us in quickly and they are timely and efficient in their work. Other mechanics that we have used would have our car for weeks on end, and we would hear nothing from them unless WE called THEM. This is definitely not the case with SunPower. They get the work done quickly and they keep us updated on the status of the repair. Their prices are fair. Their office is clean and professional. Plus, they are such nice guys!

Nearby Discount Tire recommended Sun Power for service. I went over and got some estimates, but as I was traveling from out of town, I ended up having to hit the road sooner than I could get on the shops schedule (a sign of a trusted shop!). From my brief experience, the customer service seems top notch, and I would definitely recommend heading over to Sun Power if you need some work done.

My truck broke down while on my way through from out of town. I came here based on reviews, since I was completely unfamiliar with the area. Turns out it was a blown transmission, but they were able to find a really great deal on a used part which made it worth repairing. Theyre great communicators, which is rare for an auto shop, and they really bent over backward to make sure I was taken care of even though they knew I was from out of town. 100% recommend.

Truck was making a grinding noise I took the truck in they diagnosed the problem quickly; whats really important honestly. Telling me the broken part didnt ruin the rear shoes. I hardly ever write reviews, but John at Sunpower deserves it. Every time I have taken a car there or recommended someone else does, the result is the same great service. I don’t even know how their prices compare to anyone else in town because, I don’t bother getting quotes. John tells me straight and I trust him to do the right thing and what the car actually needs.

My car decided to have issues out of nowhere, as they often do, in winter no less and when the engine light came on I knew it was time to get it checked out. I went to a different mechanic in town but the price they were charging was outrageous. I ended up trying to find a better deal and came across Sun Power Automotive after googling mechanics online and called them to explain my situation. The combined cost of the diagnostic and work done on my car was over $100 cheaper than just the work the other place was going to charge for (and thats not including their $80 diagnostic that I had to pay that made me look for somewhere cheaper in the first place).The employees at Sun Power Automotive are some of the friendliest and nicest people I have met. They seem to genuinely care and thats hard to come by these days and they are fair and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating with me when I was having issues finding time around my own schedule to get in and see them and were very patient when I kept bouncing around times I could go. I highly recommend this place. You cant beat the prices, which are fair and honest, and they dont give you the run around. They also have the sweetest dog ever that hangs out there and greets you when you arrive.

My heater core in my jeep wrangler went out and it took them less than a day to fix it. It was great it now works amazingly and the repair was priced really well, which is good because I couldnt pay an outrageous amount for a fix and it needed to get done. Im very happy with their works.

I took my vehicle here recently to get fixed from an oil leak. I had tried to fixed it two different times but failed to fixed it. I was very worried that I would expend a lot of money trying to fix it and still not resolve the issue. However, when the mechanic took a look he was able to tell me what the problem was and fixing that issue would take care of my issue. And so it happened. Haven’t had a problem since, the staff was super friendly and totally went out of their ways to fix my vehicle and take care of the issue. Price was great and I was very satisfied with their work. Definitely recommend it!

The best auto repair place in the region with the most caring professionals.My daughter just stopped in as her windshield wipers were not working properly in a rain and snow storm. She needed to get to the SLC airport to make a plane and these wonderful people took them in as their own daughter and fixed the problem and got her back on the road. I came in a few months back in the middle of a disasterous road trip to get my serpentine belt replaced. For some reason the part that was specified didn’t fit my car but they tried really hard to fix it. Even though they were unable to replace it, it was incredibly reassuring to have a professional tell me that I would make it home safely, which I did. Great people, great service and they didn’t even charge me for their time.

This is a great shop. Im a recent transplant to Idaho and was looking for a shop I could trust. I got bids several locations and this was the best price with the best warranty. Not only that the service was amazing. They will go out their way to ensure you know what the problem is and how quickly the repair needs to be done for your safety. In short, they are my familys car care and I highly recommend them.

Went in and told them I needed spark plugs, valve adjustment, and an O2 sensor. These guys were honest enough to inspect the sensor and plugs and tell me that the valve adjustment alone would fix the problem and the other components would last a while longer. Could have easily tripled my bill if they wanted to. They’ve earned my trust and did a great job. Will definitely use them again in the future.

The group at Sun Power Automotive were a life saver! They were the only body shop that would help me at 4pm on a Friday on Labor Day Weekend after my car broke down. I have gone to sun power a couple of times and each time I have been super impressed. Today they had my truck back within five minutes of me checking in. They found out it was not a major issue and my belt needed to be cleaned. They cleaned the belt and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. They didn’t even charge me for the service. I will not be taking my vehicles anywhere else. I would recommend sun power to anyone and everyone.

This shop is amazing! I have been going to them since I have lived in Pocatello, and let me tell you, they are the ONLY shop I trust. They are quick to help and honest to the bone. I would never recommend anybody else. (Not to mention, they are very fairly priced!)

Top notch. We were stranded in Pocatello with a busted CV axle and they agreed to have a look. They were great to deal with over the phone, got the work done same day, and charged a surprising low price. They noticed that the car was needing more repairs and was not entirely safe. It was very clear that they were very concerned for our safety. They werent even trying to get more work from us. They just told us to please be safe, again and again. I am very impressed overall.

They saved our trip! Our car broke down just outside of Pocatello as we were driving to Wyoming for a family wedding. Our car was towed there just before closing last Friday night. They assured us someone would look at it first thing Monday and let us know what was going on. Then John also helped us when the car we had just rented from Enterprise would not start. He drove over to Enterprise to find us help and when they were closed and everyone was gone he jumped the rental car and helped to make sure we were able to continue our trip! We cant THANK him enough for all the assistance and reassurance to know that the car would be taken care of.

I was traveling from Utah to West Yellowstone when my undercarriage fell off! I was panicked, thinking that my trip was over. These kind folks did an interim repair for me and would not let me pay. They were awesome! Wholeheartedly recommend.

We were taken care of! My wife and I had the whole front of our car start shaking violently just outside of Pocatello. We came to Sun Power and they were able to diagnose the problem and give us an estimate. It was going to take a couple of days to fix, and we were on our way down to Salt Lake for a career fair, so they gave us a ride to Enterprise car rental. After dropping us off and leaving, we came to find out Enterprise was all out of cars. We called around and ALL of the car rental shops in town were out of cars. When we called Sun Powered back, they were able to get in touch with a personal contact at the Subaru dealership in town. Sun Powered came back to the Enterprise and picked us up and dropped us off at Subaru. They took such good care of us. We wouldnt have made it to the career fair without them. Thanks Sun Power!

I picked this place based on the great reviews. I was having a problem with my transmission on a 2006 Chrysler 300c. It is a long story, but a wiring connector that goes to the transmission had come unseated, The shifter would not allow the car to be moved out of the Park position. I didnt know about the hidden button on the shifter that would had allowed me to get it out of park, I ended up forcing it and breaking the shifter mechanism located between the front seats. I replaced that on my own, then took it to Sun Power.I have seen to many tv shows about shady mechanic shops and I had a friend that was a master mechanic and worked at a Cadillac Dealership. My friend had told me that it was a common practice to sell people stuff they didnt really need, typically by telling them something was broken that really wasnt. He also shared horrific stories about mechanics actually doing more damage when doing repairs, lying to the customer and charging them even more money. Based on all that, I am very skeptical when trying to find a trustworthy mechanic. I was also new to Pocatello.Getting back to my car, it did take them a few days before I got my car back. Keep in mind, I assumed the worse. Even after I replaced my shifter and was able to get the car out of Park, the car would never go out of first gear. If you google problems youre having, especially with the engine or transmission, you can scare yourself to death! In the instance, I really thought the transmission was screwed.The guys at Sun Power were completely honest and told me that the cable had come unseated, it took them a little effort to get it plugged back in because it was in a very difficult to reach location, but after it was securely placed back into the plug, the transmission worked normally.The total cost approximately $70.00. Given the honesty, this is now my goto place for repairs.I had previously hit a curb and damaged the subframe for the engine, while they were fixing the transmission, I asked them to give me a quote on fixing the frame. A few weeks later, I took the car back to them to get the frame fixed. They did call me about the motor mounts, saying that they needed replaced, maybe a couple other smaller parts. After the repairs had been completed, they showed me all the old parts and explained in great detail what exactly was wrong with them and why they needed replaced.If would recommend Sun Power to anyone needing car work. They are honest and reliable.

My sisters truck broke down in Chubbuck as she was traveling home to Montana from Salt Lake city. The tow truck driver recommended this auto repair shop. The vehicle needed a new fuel pump and catalytic converter which had to be ordered. My sister was stranded in Pocatello over the weekend as the part needed ordered and would not arrive until Monday...Long story short..These kind people drove my sister to her hotel on Friday and delivered her truck to her at the hotel on Monday. We are very fortunate as a community to have a shop like Sunpower. John and Gloria are very fair and kind to everyone who walks through their door. Best auto shop in Pocatello hands down. My father has been taking his cars to them since the 80s and Ive been taking my cars since Ive been driving. Nicest people who truelly know cars.

My wife was in Pocatello from out of town the day before Thanksgiving when the car window wouldnt roll up during a snow storm. Oh no, she was going to get gouged right? The office manager at Sun Power is an angel. She fit my wife in immediately. They diagnosed the problem promptly. Found that the needed wire harness wasnt available anywhere locally. They spent time trying to jury rig it and eventually rolled the window up and disabled the wiring so it wouldnt happen again. When my wife couldnt get back to the shop before closing, they stayed open late on Thanksgiving evening. And to top it all off, they didnt charge anything because they didnt do anything. Im in awe.

You decide. On Tuesday, my wifes Expedition (from out of state) broke down on the way home from my fathers funeral. I had it towed to Sun Power at the recommendation of a family member who lives here in Pocatello, and I picked up my wife and kids to drive them home. While still driving, I get a call that its the alternator. It will be $105 for labor and $293 for the alternator. Im driving, so I say just do it. It was finished in just a couple of hours. When my sister brought me the vehicle and receipt, I noted that the alternator part number 7791a was itemized at $293.02. Its a Carquest part, so I looked it up online and its listed at $155.99 - a mark up of 88%. I called the Pocatello store and confirmed the price. I left an honest review stating I was over charged and had no plans of ever going back. I mentioned the overpriced parts to my family, and they asked me to call John - which I did. He issued a $60 credit, making the charge for the $155.99 alternator now only $233.02 (only a 49% markup). Then I got a call from family saying I couldnt leave a negative review because hes a friend of the family.So again, you decide. Is it worth having to check prices, make extra phone calls, still get over charged, and have your family mad at you for being honest in a review?
