We used Ultimate Events for our wedding in June. Service was good and staff was friendly. On the day of the event items rented were dropped off on time and in the order expected. Reason for the 3 star review is upon return of the items (which they picked up from the venue) they claimed we were missing a substantial amount of salad plates. The person who contacted me stated they would give us 48 hours to locate the plates (before charging us to replace them). So not something you want to deal with 4 days after your wedding. Our caterer actually came through and straightened it out. It turned out we got a few salad plates and the rest were bread plates (which the caterer used as salad plates because it’s what we had). So upon getting the order back there was a huge miscount that they were not able to figure out. So some room for process improvement there. Otherwise our experience was fine.

I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get a wedding ceremony in their backyard!! We had our tent provider back out on us the week before our wedding. We called Ultimate Events (and worked with David who is awesome) and we had a signed contract 20 minutes later. The tent was beautiful.Takeaway: Save the hassle on the cheap tent providers and go with Ultimate Events!!

I rarely write reviews, but am taking the time to write this one because I have done business with Ultimate Events for years, specifically, David Downey, and they are an absolute pleasure to work with. David is efficient, knowledgeable, experienced, and it is abundantly clear in working with him that customer service is a top priority. In addition, he is fun to work with, and has a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend Ultimate Events for the next event you are planning. Hoping the time when we can plan parties/events will come sooner than later!

Café lighting was one of my biggest priorities for my wedding day. I LOVE the atmosphere of them and I was willing to spend alot to get them, which was $1,000 for six strings of lights on the patio. My contact was Allison, who was communicative and just fine to work with. She gave me everything I needed and kept me in the loop with any updates. The only complaint I have is that they did not set up the ceremony arch (it was in pieces) so my dad had to track down a screwdriver and do it himself.

Ultimate Events provided some wonderful pipes and draping for our event today held at Union Depot in St. Paul. If youve been inside that space, you know its gigantic and having the space be divided some by beautiful draping. We recommend it.

Overall, it was a fine experience. The person we worked with at Ultimate Events was easy to work with, and the products were good. We got pretty basic white chairs for $4 a chair and a sound system for $100.We had our ceremony at a park in Minneapolis and needed to rent chairs and a sound system. The parks department only allows people to rent items from Ultimate Events or one other vendor. Im not exactly sure why Ultimate is one of the parks recommended vendors because they dont work super well with parks or the parks guidelines. We asked if they could deliver it, and while they could, they required a two-hour window before and after the ceremony time (kind of like how the cable company says they will come to your home between 9-2 because they cant anticipate how long other appointments will take). When you rent a space at a Minneapolis park, you have to rent it by a few hours at a time. So we could do 12-3, 3-6, or 6-9. We chose 3-6. So we didnt have the space rented long enough to get everything delivered. We rented 100 chairs, speakers, a mic stand, a mic, and an amp. We ended up renting a U-Haul, picking up our items, storing them in the U-Haul overnight, and then driving the U-Haul to the ceremony spot the next day to set up. Then we had to have friends do the take-down and load them back to the U-Haul. It was kind of a hassle and we would have preferred delivery. Also, the park we were at didnt have electricity, and Ultimate Events didnt have a generator or battery-powered sound system. So we had to rent a generator elsewhere.

Absolutely fantastic place! We rented many items from them for my wedding and it was absolutely perfect! Set up and tear down was perfect! The staff was truly fantastic! Hands down recommend them for your wedding or party!

My daughter and I found Allison very helpful and guided our way through the several rentals we needed to complete the look for her wedding. They had everything we needed and didnt need to go anywhere else. Allison even reminded us of a couple of other items that we needed from other vendors. My experience was pretty good up until the wedding. Ultimate has a fair cancellation policy and they kept to that. My complaint is that when I called them 24 hours in advance, which is short notice, to be fair, they were unable to contact the drivers so it was still delivered and I didnt get any of my money back. I knew I wasnt going to get all of my money back but it seemed sloppy and disorganized that they couldnt get ahold of the drivers with 24 hours notice. Besides that they were polite and timely with responses and pretty flexible.

I hired Ultimate Events to DJ and photo booth my sons grad party. We had a blast! The pictures were a hit and we received a photo book of pics after. The DJ Alex was incredible. He played the playlist my son submitted. I highly recommend Scott and Ultimate Events.

I am impressed nearly beyond words, from the order all the way through the rental and return I felt I was dealing with a company that understands what good customer service means. When a small issue occurred the owner and staff did not hesitate to make things right in quick order which cause very little stress knowing that I was working with a top notch professional company. Great Job Ultimate Events! My graduation event was small this time but it wont be too many years and Ill be looking for assistance with weddings and I wont even think twice on who to call.

I used Ultimate Events for my wedding and had a great experience with the staff. The sales team was great and very helpful. Our wedding was held at the Union Depot and Ultimate Events was very familiar with the building so that was a huge help for me since I didnt know the logistics and how to bring in my tables, chairs, etc. I will definitely be using them in the future!!!

If I could give UE 0 stars I would. Yes, their prices are better than almost anywhere, but their prices are different EVERYWHERE so you dont actually know what youre paying until you get your bill. Their pamphlets in their showroom list different prices from their website, which lists different prices from the true prices. Two guys were supposed to be at the venue the day of my wedding to take down from the night before so we could set up the stuff that we got. Only one guy showed up though. I was very adamant about having a delivery time of 8am and the guy didnt get there until 8:40. Then was more worried about his music on his phone than his job. We tried to help him and he got mad, so he pouted in the back of his truck, wasting our time. By 9:30 NOTHING was done, so we just kept the tables and chairs from the night before and didnt even use the chairs we rented. IT WAS A STRESSFUL NIGHTMARE. I dont wish this upon anyone on the day of their wedding. Save yourself the stress and go with a different, more reliable company!

Had to use them last minute for some small catering items. The service was fantastic! They were very patient with me and walked me through the process of renting and what they had in stock and what I could use alternatively, etc. Front desk staff gets an A+, as does the pickup crew. Friendly and personable. And the price was fair and reasonable. I will be using them in the future. Thank you!

It was a truly frustrating experiencing working with Ultimate Events. We had three categories we ordered from them: chandeliers, twinkle lighting for the ceiling, and draping for our stage. Wed given them photos for inspiration and the end result for the lighting aspect at least was spot on and magical. For the draping...were still really upset by what had transpired but with the help of our day of coordinator we managed to get closer to our request. We had requested draping to flow down from the stage area as if curtains for a theater and despite multiple site visits by their team they still miscalculated and installed our draping well below the height wed requested of them.We were working with Allison and while she was nice and professional, it was difficult to get a hold of her. Her responses were sporadic and as the day drew closer, this was legit the only thing that entire week my husband and I were stressed about because we werent getting the answers about the draping that we needed from her. We spent the better part of two months trying to finalize a quote from her and literally signed off on the order and quote the day of our wedding! That is absolutely unacceptable to leave us in the lurch like that. If there are issues with the work order, it should be communicated to the customer regardless. My husband and I would have been very understanding if there was an issue with some part of the order and willing to make it work. To leave us in the dark until the day of the wedding was discourteous and unprofessional.I would hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends and family, but if you are planning something simple without too many moving parts, Ultimate could probably get you there. A fair warning, we found out waaaay later in the process (the week of the wedding!) that theyre required to hire outside help for the hanging of the chandeliers so that could be a delay in getting a quote.Overall, I wouldnt hire them again just out of the amount of stress theyd put us under by not finalizing details until the week of our wedding. Maybe thats standard in the industry but for someone like me that likes to check things off her list and forget about them, it was not okay.

Im not sure where to start because I was dissatisfied from the time I put the non-refundable deposit down, straight through until the end. I felt deceived by an initially low delivery estimate. If you need delivery during ANY specific time frame, no matter how broad, go somewhere else, or you will pay at least double. When we finally figured out the delivery, they said they were totally booked for a Monday pick up, made it really hard to coordinate with the venue, and made us pay triple the initial delivery cost. When I paid for it, they agreed that they would call the venue before they arrived for pick up, but they didnt call and I had to intervene, as I was leaving for my honeymoon.The quality of the chairs were fine, but the tables are REALLY crappy. Very poor condition. They looked fine under the tablecloths we rented elsewhere, but if you arent planning to cover the tables, make other arrangements.In addition, the customer service was really poor. Working with Midway Party Rental was the ONLY stressful thing about my wedding planning. Save yourself some stress, read the reviews, and go find something way better!

I rented a tent, tables and various items needed for food and bar service from Midway Party Rental for my wedding. I would rate the delivery, setup, and general quality of the items as 3-4 stars, but the customer service was not very good at all. My initial experience of getting quotes and putting down the deposit was perfectly fine, but when I followed-up to make final changes, ask questions, and make the final payments -- the service was extremely poor. I reached out several times but it ended up taking 3 days before I could get in touch with the rep (no one else seemed to be able to help make the changes), and when I finally did get her on the phone I received bad excuses, lack of concern, and ended up having to spend over 30 minutes on the phone going over everything I had already detailed in emails and previous messages. I was left feeling little confidence in Midway Party Rental, but luckily their delivery and setup team out perform their customer service and in the end I was happy with the overall outcome -- but really did not need the stress leading up to it.

I rented the Bell Ringer after attending another party where it was used (they rented from Midway). At that party, it was played with constantly, and a real challenge to get the bell to ring. When I rented it this year, everybody but the smallest of kids could get the bell to ring on the first try. There was no challenge, and everyone lost interest in it immediately. Once a person got it to ring, there wasnt really any reason to keep trying it. So, a disappointment. I didnt think it was money well spent. On returning the Bell Ringer to the warehouse, I went inside and mentioned it at the front desk in the showroom. They did not know why it was so easy to ring, and no adjustment was offered. On a positive note, I was originally scheduled to pick up the bell ringer on a Friday for the weekend, but due to a scheduling conflict, Midway allowed me to pick it up on Thursday with no additional charge.

Effective communication and consideration lacking! Hidden extra costs (busy time of the year fee) only explained after questioning why costs/taxes didnt add up. When suggested they should really tell their customers about that before asking for payment information, they did try to make that right by graciously eliminating that extra fee, just this one time. After specifically reconfirming the pickup location in Plymouth since its closer to our home on the NW side, upon pickup was told that pickup was supposed to happen out of Mpls., and that how lucky for us that they just so happened to have what we ordered up in stock there (Plymouth). When returning items, receptionist cut me off as I was talking to her to go get my clipboard, handed it to me, told me to go out to the loading/unloading dock, turned and went back to her computer without as much as a thank you, thank you for your business, or even have a nice day. *The only pleasant interaction, ever, was with the guys who unloaded my car. They were pleasant, didnt want me to help, and did in fact say thank you and to have a nice day. Hence, the one star. **The tall cocktails tables provided had terribly worn and cracked and chipped wood tops. Good thing we ordered (overly expensive) linens to cover or no one would have wanted to dine or drink on them. Ill be going over to Fridley to Broadway Rental for any of my future needs. Very disappointing.

Initially I was scared away from using Ultimate Events because I was told by others they monopolized the tent rental business in our area and theyre the big wigs. I worked with Alison who was very straight forward that they may not be the best price, but promised the best products. However, the base price of the tent did seem to be the lowest compared to a few other companies. I was disappointed in all the additional surcharges that were added on (fuel surcharge, delivery charge, damage deposit (that is not returned), and a hauling fee (despite the distance it seems)) - that is my only complaint. However, Alison was professional and definitely knowledgeable. She was able to explain all my options in a way I understand, the company had a variety of tent sizes to choose from and fit my space best, and she even provided seating charts for the size tent we chose (despite us NOT renting table and chairs from them). It was like a mini built in party planner with my rental which was much appreciated!

I loved the chivari chairs and fancy linens that totally made the event complete. Event planners and brides should keep them in mind when renting their event day linens, tents, furniture and more!

Though I loved the staff that was there to help set up and take down, I cannot disagree with the matter of unorganized and pricing of this company. They were late in their setup, they dont know their prices of their equipment (they just make up a number, this is a quote by one of the salesman), and dont take ownership of their work. Even though this company screwed us over with their job (the saleman didnt even keep in contact with me), they ended up blaming my staff for their mistake. If your planning to get a refund for their mistake, I can guarantee they arent going to give it to you. The saleman made me wait a whole month to try to get a refund, only to tell me, they arent refunding and that it was our fault. Will definitely be looking somewhere else, next year.

At the end of the day whether you choose Ultimate Events, Après, Highway 55 or someone else, event/party rental is a commodity based business. Ultimate lost my business and recommendation going forward because they would not refund my unused linens. I rented 7 round 60 tables and 7 tablecloths. The tablecloths were the incorrect size to my tables. Given the time time before the event start, I had to call Après because they were closer to my location. They took the time to ask question to make sure they were correct. On something simple they showed interest and were stewards to my experience with them, Ultimate was not. Like Ultimate refused to return my unused linens because its their right. its my right to leave a review questioning their customer experience in business where there is very little differentiation other than if I was has happy. p.s. The photo attached was my proof that of the condition I returned my linens.

I am just confused. I contacted them to find out how much a down payment is for chair rental. I was told they still had the chairs that I had picked, but due to limited time they dont know if they will have staff available, but I could pick the chairs up and drop them off. What confuses me is that I said it twice that I am getting married in July 2018 and I dont understand how this is limited timing...

Very disappointed at the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism. Hired equipment a couple of weeks in advance of my companys event. The sales person from Ultimate Events was going on vacation, but I was told this wouldnt be an issue. Lies and miscommunication all around. She didnt even bother to get an email from me, just assured me that I would get a call on the day of the delivery. I was nervous and called and confirmed with three different people and ended up finally getting a confirmation email only to have the owner call me THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT in the busiest tent-rental season to tell me the order was cancelled. Thanks for the heads up, no problem finding a last minute tent to rent in the middle of wedding season. The owner was rude and flippant. If you want someone professional, respectful and customer minded, do yourself a favor and avoid Ultimate Events. Call Apres, Midway Party Rental or Broadway instead.

Customer service is atrocious. Double booked the DJ equipment I had rented months in advance. Failed to notify me until I arrived. No manager to speak to on site. No comprehension of even the concept of compensation for the rest of the gera I still ended up renting. No apologies upon return. And no way Im ever renting at Midway again.

I have been using Ultimate events at the Kasota Ave location in Minneapolis for over 12 years now. Before it changed to Ulitmate Events it was Midway Party Rental. I have only ever received the most professional and exceptional service that has honestly been quite impressive. From the showrooms sales department that is eager to help with anything you need, to the warehouse service people that go over and above what is standard, I am always left with a feeling of commitment to customer service and a work place that feel like family. I felt compelled to write a positive review now because of a recent difficult situation that arose on one of my rentals. The situation was my mistake and it was handled with such kindness, professionalism and grace. I deeply appreciate all those who work there and must say Christy in the showroom and Phil in the warehouse are exceptional! Keep up the great work!

We were having a Graduation Party at our house Saturday June 21st and since our back yard wasnt huge we wanted to extend it to our driveway, With the lastest weather didnt want to chance it. I knew of Midway and didnt look else where. We requested a 20x20 tent to fit on the cement driveway and a popcorn maker, I made a little video for our graduate and wanted to have a movie night feel. We paid little extra to have the Midway rental crew to set it up and since it had to be sand bagged. Okay no problem we prepped the driveway Thursday evening, I was filming a wedding on a all day friday event and yes Im in the wedding business. At 9:30pm that friday night my wife called me NO TENT, she said she called at 3:00pm and your operator said they will be there and running a little behind, OK no problem. I get home at midnight No Tent Friday is here and was expecting a 8:00 am set up, we are understanding people..I get it, but comes noon party starts... no calls, no crew... nothing. I feel blessed that we had great weather and I am not mad just disappointed that you guys didnt call or show up. I ran to Cub and picked up popcorn and made it work...I guess if we had an estate with maids and butlers youd suck our toes but we are just common joes living in Brooklyn Center/ Minneapolis and I do work in the wedding field. I wont swear or be gross but I will and plan to go out of my way to give you the review you deserve and tell my circle of friends and associates not to use your services, and gladly explain our story. We will want our money back thats easy its the reputation you have to restore, and as an owner of my small video business I would be pissed at the people who I pay money to service my clients and the person who made decision be fearful of keeping your job. I dont know how Midway works inside but if it was the owner shame on you the small accounts are high profit and some actually turn in to large accounts its called relationships, and if it was the manager I think White Castle is hiring but I hear they have better standards in Customer Service. I think if you guys would have called explained your situation or gave a solution to help us! We would have been happy and accepting. So to future clients please think twice using this company and call couple places. My biggest mistake was knowing this company and meeting some of the sales represenitves in the Wedding Networking Groups.
