Dr. Yao and his wife Natalie are an amazing team! For my entire life, I’ve absolutely dreaded going to the dentist, but this dental practice has restored my hope. They are very transparent with explaining the procedures and expected costs up front, and take the time to talk you through the procedure as it’s taking place. They are also very friendly with good conversation every time I visit. I’ve never waited in the waiting room or felt rushed through anything. Truly cannot write enough good things.

Dr Yaos office is not only so clean which is number one to me but he does everything himself. I had the best cleaning because of how thorough he was. It also didnt hurt that I laid in a massaging chair for my appointment. Natalie was great with the communication and did most of the appointment booking via email with me. I went back to work and told all my coworkers about this office. Extremely happy since I just moved to CA and had the same dentist for over 20 years.

Ive been going to Dr. Yao for three years now. Hes very gentle and friendly. My teeth look and feel great and Ive never left the office in pain from a rough cleaning. Dr. Yao performs the cleaning and exam himself, not a hygienist, which makes me feel like any problems would be caught and Im getting a very thorough exam. Also, both exam chairs are massaging chairs and Ive fallen asleep a couple times during my visits. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Yao for anyone, and especially people that are usually uneasy about or fearful of dentists.The office is very clean and well-run. Natalie is on top of insurance questions and gets back to you quickly when you leave a message or have a question that she needs to research. And Ive always received a confirmation call the day before my appointment, which is helpful.If youre looking for a new dentist, Dr. Yao is the man.

Since the latter was not an option due to demographic challenges, coming to Dr. Jerry & his family owned practice was the NEXT BEST THING that I have done in my life - besides having 4 children :-)Dr. Jerry and his team are honest. caring and respectful of ones concern whether it be due to insurance coverage, out of pocket cost or time. The visit included the following but not limited to:1. A warm welcome and a very clear explanation of what is covered in my dental plan and what would my out of pocket cost be that was done by Natalie.2. A very thorough exam and hands-on approach of Dr. Jerry Yao in regards to the dental treatment and precise explanation of the must dos / high priority and the next course(s) of action.3. A constant display of patient care throughout my dental visit.I write this for one reason alone and it is with complete confidence to share that I can completely refer Dr. Yao and his team to any one who needs a DENTIST for LIFE.Thank you and despite being faced with a lot of dental work ahead, I cant wait for my next appointment in 2 weeks.Based on multiple research, everyone knows at least 200 persons in their life. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Yao and Natalie. I have been going to them for the past 14 years and do not trust anyone else to work on my teeth. As someone who is prone to cavities, going to the dentist to get poked and prodded is not usually high on my list of things I want to do but Dr. Yao is amazing at what he does; particularly at giving shots, you literally dont feel it! So if your scared of needles, Dr. Yaos your guy. They both have a way of making you feel comfortable and I can honestly say there have been times that I have almost fallen asleep in the chair (plus the massage chair helps). Dr. Yao and Natalie are very personable and caring. Natalie takes the time to remind me of my cleanings (even if I have skipped a few years or failed to call them back) and how to best approach my dental work as I am a student with limited funds. And Dr. Yao taught me how to floss the right way which has reduced the number of cavities I typically get. They care about me as a person and not just a client and it shows. Simply said, Dr. Yao and Natalie are great people who do excellent work.

Truly happy with Dr. Yao as my dentist. He does very nice work and Im confident that anything being done is necessary. His practice has no feel of being dentist centered where assistants and a hygienist prep patients for the dentist to come around. Rather I would describe his practice as patient centered. He doesnt run behind schedule. Appointments are met on time. He takes time to explain everything clearly and answer questions. His office is very clean and organized. He very good at working with dental insurance. I always know exactly what its going to cost before any work is done and whether or not the work can wait. Receipts are clear and without inconsistencies and I have no problem processing FSA claims. Ive used his emergency number once at around 6am and he phoned me back minutes later.

My two girls and their families also go to Dr. Yao as well. Hes great with kids, is very patient with young children and always gives great care. His wife, Natalie, works with him as well and always takes care of us arranging appointments, talking about our orchids and our families. They are like family to me! I had a mortal fear of the dentists chair for the longest time. The first couple of times I visited Dr. Yaos office I was plagued with that same fear.The consistently courteous treatment I got from both Dr. Yao and Natalie went a long way in completely eliminating that fear.Now when I go there for my routine cleanings or any fillings, I look forward to the experience and the courteous service. Both Dr. Yao and Natalie are very pleasant people to deal with.Now I just walk in for my routine appointment, hop into the dentist chair, recline back, and nicely request Dr. Yao to turn on that wonderful back-massager, and I fade away to a pacific island somewhere in my imagination and let Dr. Yao take care of the rest.Dr. Yao is very capable and he has also referred me to a very nice gum-specialist when I needed some work done on my impacted molar. He’s helped us with a newly needed bridge and replaced some 50 year old cavities. Had let my teeth go so long that he recommended a deep cleaning. Which I’m happy to say has put me back on course to good dental care. We can’t say enough good things about Dr Yao and Natalie. Such a gentle doctor, kind, really cares about making your experience good, and just an overall fantastic dentist. Natalie mirrors Dr Yao in every way in her scheduling and keeping up with insurance etc. They are both so great to work with. He is very professional and quickly puts patients at ease by offering distractions such as music and my personal favorite back massagers in his chair. What I like most about Dr. Yao is that he is very gentle. I never feel him administering the novocaine needles. He is very patient and ensures I am numb before proceeding with any work. Dr Yao is the BEST!!!I have had pretty significant “dental anxiety” which prevented me from going to the dentist for years. Bad experiences, pain, high expense, and very unfriendly dentists, you name it! My family, however, never stopped talking about their dentist at family gatherings. We have three generations going to Dr Yao (soon enough there will be four!). After hearing all of the positive things they kept saying about him, I finally felt comfortable enough to make the call. I am SO happy that I did! Although I have had a lot of work done since I put off going for so long, I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure. I don’t dread going to any appointment, in fact I actually enjoy them. Relaxing in a massage chair while listening to music and getting my teeth fixed with no pain isn’t so bad at all! Combined with the fact that Dr Yao is meticulous and does a wonderful job, I recommend him to all family and friends.Dr Yao and Natalie are so kind, positive, and welcoming. Over years I had so many bad teeth. They had been treated in my home country, and they were full of silver fillings and crowns.I first visited Dr. Yaos office in the year 2012. Since then, he patiently treated my teeth, little by little. I went though many different treatments, including regular cleaning, root canals, fillings, crowns, a bridge, and implants. Dr. Yao is very personable and friendly, and I appreciate his honest and professional opinions as we have dealt with many teeth that needed different treatments over the years. Dr. Yao treats each tooth with very little pain (the most pain comes when I get initial shots to make my mouth numb, and that is not bad at all either), and he always tries to keep me comfortable during the treatment. Whenever necessary, he is quick to refer me to other dentists so that the treatment can be carried out in a timely manner. Now my teeth look completely different compared to 5 years ago.I also appreciate Natalie’s reminders every time I have an appointment, and her good communication for billing and scheduling in a friendly manner.I recommended a colleague to Dr. Yao before, and I would be happy to do so again if there is anyone who need dental care.

After I have my mind all set up and ready to start my dental work again, I had so much trouble finding a good dentist. Most of them were ether overwhelmingly expensive or they didnt provide the confidence that I need from them as a patient. I didnt feel like I was taken care of, but rather, I was just another patient they have to see.The whole experience with Dr. Yao was very different. It started from my first pleasant phone call with Natalie making my first appointment. They start their first appointment with a cleaning, which, Dr. Yao does the cleaning himself (That was awesome 👏). He studied my teeth and gum condition and then explained in detail what future work can be expected. Natalie than calculated what I should expect to pay after. The price was really reasonable. I felt really taken care of, so I continued with Dr. Yao onto my second appointment (THE FILLING!)I explained in my second appointment that I am deathly afraid of needles. Not sure what technique he used, but, I DID NOT feel pain at all. It was at most a little pinch. My filling was done before I knew it and the rest is history. I highly recommend Dr Yaos office to anyone who is looking for a dentist who really cares about their patients comfort and experiences.

This is a nice charming low key bike friendly dental practice. Just ride over and safely leave your bike in the waiting room while your teeth get serviced. Now only if there was a bike shop set up shop next door?What can we say is Jerry and his wife Natalie make a great team, are lovely couple and provide excellent service. They are dog people like us and we have enjoyed exchanging pet stories over the years. Natalie is always good about calling us with warm and friendly appointment reminders. Doctor Jerry is good at making us feel comfortable in the chair. He is an efficient, gentle and helpful dentist. Occasionally I have had a hard time with a procedure and he has talked me through it. He loves to chat and sometimes he forgets your mouth is under construction and you have to use sign language to answer him. From time to time he will call his wife over to give him an helping hand. Keep stocking the mint favored fluoride!There is no TV in this office but the view of Mt. diablo and beyond more than makes up for it. The office is easy to find however car parking can be limited due to the valet parking set-up downstairs. As a result bike parking is recommended and encouraged. If you must drive over look for parking by Peets coffee shop and walk a bit up the street. We really like their new office location, décor and fancy equipment it is a nice upgrade from his old shared practice. Support this local mom and pop business get your teeth cleaned and serviced in good old downtown Pleasant Hill.
