When my son started Tae Kwon Do with Parks about 4 years ago, our goal was simply to help him gain self control and prepare him for preschool…. And now we sit here with a child that had gained so much more. He’s learned about dedication, commitment, respect for himself and others, focus and of course the physical aspect of martial arts. We never imagined that we’d be joining a family. The Instructors here at parks are a huge part of our lives. My son admires and looks up to them so much. They have given their all to help my son grow into the great young man he is today! They are firm when they need to be and softer when a more gentle approach is needed. But above all, what I admire most about them is that they don’t come in demanding respect… they earn the respect of the children by showing them respect as well. The kids want to be like them because they truly model exemplary behavior, dedication and technique. I recommend Parks with all of my heart!
***Very untrustworthy and unprofessional ***They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign up and pay. Once you are there, they will change their minds. Youre left with a disapointed kid and having to ask for a refund. I was told kids didnt have to wear a mask while vigoursly exercising and then they change their minds on the spot. (There was no language barrier, they spoke perfect english - lest they use that as an excuse)
The instructors are so motivating the master is hands on, we are very happy with this school. Our son has been with the Parks family for 4 years and He has kept his vow to not give up!
We love to come here!
I am in awe of the excitement my child feels every day that he goes to Taekwondo. If you want your child to build core disciplinary skills and build self confidence while having fun, be sure to take a trial run at Parks. You won’t be disappointed. The owner comes from a great bloodline of achievers and Sebastian the assistant, 2nd to none and he kicks like a mule. In all seriousness I am a critic who speaks loud and I usually have a lot to say. So far I am more than pleased with how sanitary and cautious they are during these trying times. I am satisfied with the fees because the value is in their culture. Those who know me understand how I write bad reviews when things just aren’t right and good reviews when things are excellent. Parks in plantation is pretty excellent at a time when nothing is! Oh shout out to Instructor Robert and Master Lee who are just as awesome as Sebastian.
Always a great day with the Instructors...
Great place. Our son loves it.
After checking out several Tae Kwon Do studios in Plantation, we were delighted to come across Parks. My children have been attending PMA 5 days a week, for over a year. In that time, we have seen such a tremendous growth in our kids’ TKD skills—which we attribute to the school’s amazing instructors. They place a great importance on a student creed of honesty, integrity, compassion, politeness, loyalty, justice, and courage. They incorporate this creed into the art of TKD, and I can say my kids are better humans because of it. The instructors go beyond to ensure the kids are training in a safe and clean environment. The aesthetics, unmatched in our area, is what initially drew me in.Their commitment blew me away as our city went into quarantine. The owner and team, flawlessly jumped over to online classes, and kept our kids engaged, both physically and emotionally. They sent us packages so that our kids had the tools to train, and had virtual activities, egg hunts, and “virtual parent nights” (to give the parents an hour of peace). During this time, they personally surprised each student celebrating their birthday. Practicing social distancing, the instructors brought balloons, and a birthday bag. These seemingly small acts, meant the world to our kids. It kept them engaged, and gave them structure in a time that was anything but. Now, we are back in the studio and the staff has set up safety protocols that have gone above and beyond requirements.Having my kids in various activities, I can say Parks is entirely committed to their TKD families. The studio has become a second family to us, and the parents and kids have become close. I highly recommend PMA to anyone looking for a positive experience in martial arts. I love referring people to our school, and I’m a proud to be a part of the program!
Great school awesome Master. Great atmosphere for kids and adults.
THIS MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL HAS A VERY GREEDY, INCONSIDERATE, SELFISH AND UNPROFESSIONAL OWNER. YOU WOULD THINK THAT IN THIS PANDEMIC TIME SHE WILL HAVE SOME COURTESY ABOUT HER STUDENTS. SHE IS STILL BILLING FOR TAKING ONLINE CLASSES THAT I NEVER SIGNED UP MY CHILD FOR. ALL SHE CARES ABOUT IS HOW MUCH MONEY SHE CAN EARN DURING THIS SHUT DOWN. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!!
Parks Martial Arts in Plantation is the best Martial Arts School if you have a little one. There is also kick boxing for teenagers and adults. I for one, have personally interacted with the instructors and head Master of the school and the customer service wins overall other Martial Arts Schools that I have seen; Instructor Julius is great with kids and his kick boxing classes are excellent! Master Cheong Me is great with the kids and the parents, and is one of the few Martial Arts Schools were there is a resident Master always present. I give this place 5 thumbs up!!!
The instructors are so patient and kind, yet firm in their teachings: the perfect combination. Everyone at Parks made us feel like family from day one. And my son is learning so much that he is carrying over into his life outside of the school. We are so happy to have found Parks.
We have been a member at the Parks in Plantation for over 3 years. My son is currently a High Red belt. He has worked EXTREMELY hard to get where he is now with support, time and effort from his instructors and his master. His last belt testing began a MONTH before he actually received his belt. They spent the month working on mastering not only his belt level, but reviewing the previous belt levels he has tested for. They have always taken the time to discuss with both myself and my son the things he needs to work on in order to progress within his belt level and to progress to the next belt level. In the THREE YEARS we have been a member at the school, I have NEVER felt that his belt was not EARNED by him. I have never been treated unprofessionally by ANY member that has EVER worked there and am VERY pleased with the level of instruction my son has received. They have even gone ABOVE AND BEYOND in working with my son to help him reach his goals. As an EXPERIENCED, VETERAN parent, I HIGHLY recommend Parks.
My 2 year old son has taken Saturday classes at Parks Martial Arts since December. Unfortunately he fractured his arm and was in a cast for over 5 weeks. I made countless phone calls to Parks and noone got back to me yet they still continued to charge me but when I finally said enough is enough I had to dispute the transactions and finally Parks Martial Arts responded to the dispute just not me. The class is AWFUL, no martial arts is actually taught, they set up a small obstacle course for the kids to run on and then bind you to a contract. Again my son is 2 years old and Parks Martial Arts is holding us hostage for money on classes we dont attend. This place is a chop shop and the customer service is absolutely terrible. I highly suggest you look for another studio which is run professionally.
Very friendly staff! My kids are always so excited to come to class and learn new things. The instructors are patient, kind, and leave the kids feeling confident. 5 stars!
Horrible customer service . I terminated my contract, paid EXACTLY what they asked to pay to terminate my contract . I received signed paperwork that I met my obligation, yet EVERY month I receive phone calls asking for more money or they will not honor the terminated contract. I was a loyal customer who paid on time every month . Not to mention all the extras I paid for . Weapons, additional shirts and other expenses. Clearly there is no loyalty. Not to mention a summer camp that my daughter went to for only two days seeing I was promised she would be with kids her age. She is 11 and was placed with 5 yr olds playing not age appropriate games . Did I ask or get a refund ? NO. I guess your only a good customer if you continue paying 200.00 a month . Hopefully your child doesn’t need to consintrate on all AP Advanced classes and stop Karate. If so be prepared to be harassed monthly for made up balances owed . Very disappointed on how this ended . Not sure why the customer has to pay for their mistakes and incompetence with money . Your mistake NOT MINE.
Started my grandson Justin last January...he loves it. Very happy with the experience and the instructors are great...they encourage and praise the kids which is important.
Really friendly.. teach respect and how to listen awesome with kids and always something to do with the family.
I love this place they arare very family oriented and they help you with your goals and help you to succeed physically..
This review is based solely on the promotional offer they have for kickboxing. They announce a price, and once you talk to them, they let you know you will also have to buy their wraps and their shirt. I have done kickboxing for years in another place, and I was never asked to buy their brand. However, this people want to get as much money as they can from the very beginning. I told them I had professional kickboxing wraps, and they gave me an excuse about liability saying that I had to use the wraps with their logo on or they could get sued if I get injured. That makes no sense at all! Especially for me who comes from doing kickboxing in another place. They did not give me an explanation about the shirt; they just said I had to buy it. I contacted them because I wanted to check their schedule and compare to the place I am going right now, but to be honest I prefer adjusting my hours at the other place that is not only awesome but also not trying to make me spend extra money for no reason.
Awwwesome place for my only son he has learned sooo much and is so happy great staff and family freindly environment.thank you from the shoulders family xoxo
Awesome place and people! My son loves it!
