We rented in Plano from First Choice realty from 2018 to 2021. Jerri and Kathy were always on top of any maintenance issues we had with the property. We also received our deposits back within the 30 days.we had a great experience with First Choice as tenants!
I have been a resident with First Choice for 3.5 years. Recently I had a series of maintenance issues that were first overlooked. Luanne was very responsive in getting to the heart of the matter. After we both realized each party had ownership in the miscommunication. Jennipher stepped in and all items were repaired in short order. I am very pleased with the level of service and professionalism as it pertains to the resolution. I was heated at times but communication is the key. Thank you First Choice team.... After seeing these reviews I am very thankful to dodge this bullet. The woman I spoke to over the phone is confusing being transparent with being grossly tactless and is completely depleted of having any interpersonal skills whatsoever. She was extremely loud and repeated herself so many times in a condescending manner. If this company gives awards to belittling people over the phone, she is definitely ready to be promoted.
I am not sure why people are saying mildly bad things about LeighAnn. She is absolutely 10 times worse than what is being said here. Extremely unprofessional in her demeanor with potential tenants. I hope the landlords know what damage she is causing to their viable properties. She must be a relative or friend with benefits at First Choice because I dont see why else they would want someone like her on their payroll. The other people here are well-mannered so they are not cut from the same cloth. Too bad.
Jerri understood our situation of having already moved to another area in the state. She helped us to make informed decisions and stayed in touch throughout the transaction. She was completely honest with us on what we needed to do to help our house sell, which we greatly appreciated.Jerri went so far above and beyond her duties as our agent. She took care of everything including the repairs needed. She coordinated competent contractors and followed up on their work.Jerri made the entire sale process as smooth as it could have possibly been. We could not have done this without her. SOLD!!
8 faithful years with these people and Id tell you this: Even my property representative quit on them and moved to another company. Bogus charges on my credit. Avoid by every means. They hide behind a false confession of IN GOD WE TRUST. They trust in your dollar only! Lady Jerry is as deceitful as her smiley face! If youre looking for a proper management company look up Mrs Leigh Price, she give you the best service and care in the area. This place has been going down ever since she left the company. Sad!
I concur with the statement regarding LeighAnn (sigh) wish I had read them before renting. She has Lied from day one about what would and would not be done to the property before move in. She did not complete any of them as she verbally told me. Please get everything in writing as she either can’t remember what she has said or she is just a dishonest person in general. Not sure if this is the company standard. I truly hope not as a business owner myself I understood that one employee can ruin your business I truly hope this owner does not continue to allow this type of unprofessional. Guess I will see how it turns out. I will update later on status. Stay Safe People and remember everyone is not Bad, we just have to sort out the bad apples in life. After talking to Leigh Ann, I was compelled to come online and post my review. This one star review is solely because they allow her to speak to prospective renters. Not only was she rude but also very condescending. She even went as far, to tell me that I use my stay at home wife to get credit cards and run them up past their limits. This was only after a 20 min lecture on my credit report. There is a way to talk to someone with tact, civility, and respect but Leigh Ann chooses to be the opposite.
Terrible experience.Waited 6 months to have gas line fixed when we were told itd be fixed within the first month of renting. As well as half of the gas stove. Still have reconstruction trash on the side of the house that was said to be picked up before we moved in. Anytime we call about issues our agent LeighAnn has been very rude and abrasive to my wife.
I have been leasing my home since 12/2018, I have had a couple of things that have needed repair and have had very prompt response from First Choice Realtors when repair requests were submitted. Most recently 08/2019, I started having issues with the air conditioning not cooling properly. I submitted a work order for the issue and Kathy was immediately on top of contacting the home warranty company to get them out to repair the unit. The home warranty company began with giving me the run around about the unit is running as best as it can and we cannot find anything wrong with the unit. The AC unit would not cool the house any cooler than 84 degrees. I would submit another work order and Kathy was again, immediately on top of getting someone out. I kept getting the run around from the technicians that the home warranty company was sending out. The last time that they were called out Jerri personally came to the house to meet with them and has escalated the matter to the top level of the home warranty company. Kathy and Jerri have both worked very hard to get this resolved.The only issue I have is that the home warranty are the scams, not the property management. I would not recommend EMS Home Services or Speedy Electric and AC. Neither of these companies would file that the unit, which is approx. 25 years old, needs to be replaced. They both just kept making excuses as to why the unit would not cool the house any cooler than 84 degrees.
I really wish I could remember the name of the lady that showed us the house because she was super nice and understanding. The house we looked at ended up in someone elses hands. I believe her name is Leighann. This lady does not know what customer service is and it is rather unfortunate she alone has given this business a bad name. I have never talked to someone so unprofessional.

We rented a house in Plano for two years with First Choice. Jerri and Kathy were always a pleasure to deal with. Any problems or repairs were dealt with extremely quickly. Deposits returned on time etc. Highly recommended. :-)
We have First Choice take care of our property over the last 7 years and could not have been happier. We were transferred out of the country and then subsequently moved back to the USA, but a different state - and we got constant information about updates and issues. Everytime we needed new tenants, the selection was done meticulously and we never had any issues. I am happy to say, after 7 years we are back in the house and all it had was the regular wear and tear but other than that 👌🏼!Thanks Terri and team for everything 😊
Extremely rude and non-responsive. LeighAnn wouldnt provide a floor plan, photos or a video of the rental property. Nor does she have the courtesy of picking up or responding to a call. They expect prospective tenants to sign lease agreements through text messages and faith in the lord! Waste of time.
We have been renting our home for almost 4 Years and I am extremely impressed with First Choice Reality. Whenever we have a concern 97% of the time it has been addressed in a timely manner.The Property Mangers hands are tied when having to get approval from the owner for Big Ticket repairs. I found that out when the fence needed to be Replaced and instead it was repeatedly repaired Until a portion of it finally Fell Down.First Choice Staff have always been prompt and respective whenever I have needed to reach out to them. Jerri has always worked hard to resolve our concerns.Looking forward to many more years!!

My wife and I had a realtor looking for a house to rent for us. After finding a place we liked we negotiated the deposit with owner and agreed upon terms. Once the terms were settled we went directly to the First Choice Realtors office and turned in the application along with a Non Refundable Application fee. Our understanding was that on approval of our credit we would be moving in to the house on our agreed upon date.The next day they tell us that another person turned in an application the same time we did. (We turned ours in at 5:00 pm and they close at 5:00 pm) and that they ran the applications at the same time and the owner chose the other couple.Complete misdirection. If we knew that another person was trying to get into the house we would not have Gambled $50 on whether or not we can get approved. The fact was that the other renters didnt have animals like we do. Completely understandable, as I would also rather rent my place to people without pets. First Choice Realtors was not being honest with the situation, and just wanted to make a few extra bucks off our application fees.Leigh at First Choice Realtors was deceitful and rude.
These are the worst human beings ever!!! I had a home and I rented it out with them and they got my sued and were so rude to my tenants they caused the tenants to stop paying and got me sued!! These people are horribly unscrupulous!! NEVER USE THEM!! JERRI IS AWFUL!!!!!
After ten years my old manager is no longer working at first choice, I have a new manager at first choice - shes nasty and rude and totally disrespectful. I was told over the phone, that the owner wants me out in 2 weeks. Only after I hung up the phone on a nasty person working at first choice, so I went to the owner - this man told the cops, I was a good tenant and he always received his money on time- he doesnt care who lives there as long as he get payed! Yes, someone thought calling the cops would be bad on me, but the devil is a lie! The best police officers ever made the situation, uplifting for me.
What ever you do, DO NOT use first choice realty!! Or Lindsay Ford!!!I am a normal, honest, hard working person who does not usually like to cause any waves, but Lindsay Ford is an evil, manipulative, lying, psychotic person. She has no moral or ethical values a and will trick you into thinking otherwise, and I just want to try my best to warn other unsuspecting individuals against renting, buying, or selling a house through Lindsay or First Choice.She and the company she works for/with has unjustly charged me over $2,000 for damages to a house that if I would have known needed to be taken care of, I could have done all of the repairs for roughly $300. Its outrageous.Not exaggerating, one of the repairs I was charged for was cleaning the AC because vines had grown around the outside unit. How much was I charged, you ask $150. And thats only one of the many crazy things listed on our repair list.I believe the only reason we were charged so outrageously, is because she somehow manipulated two very nice elderly people, who owned the property, to sell it out from underneath us renewing our lease. Before we moved into this house we talked to the owners and they told us they were only renting it do a couple of years because they had to take care of business elsewhere, and were planning on moving back. They were wonderful people.Lindsay is evil. DO NOT USE HER OR FIRST CHOICE. If you do you will regret it as surely as I have.
When you are moving out make sure you have one month rent to pay in stuff additional. They really rip you off by adding expenses under different account heads. Also if you want to break lease one month re-letting fee they will charge. Never happened earlier in my life if some company get new tenant and charge you one month fee. SO please be careful before signing the agreement. There were no sprinkler on the property working. Drive was broke they never fixed that. I wish I could give zero or negative
I havent had any experience with these folks, just stumbled upon this site when I was Googling the name of the realtor who sold me my house 15 years ago (and apparently works at this place now).These reviews are awful -- thankfully I buy my property and dont have to deal with a management company. But Ive dealt with poor management companies before and would never do business with First Choice after reading these reviews. The fact that they span over 5 years and the company has apparently done nothing to improve their service is a huge red flag.I just thought Id at my .02 to anyone renting a property or working with a management company that it is NOT worth working with a horrible management company even if its a great price or nice property. The management staff can make or break your experience and I would stay as far away as possible from a company that receives multiple bad reviews over this length of time.
LeighAnn is rude and is causing people to skip doing an app altogether. I wonder if the homeowners know that this company is garbage and probably running potential good tenants away.
We used them for property management. Horrible never follow their own rules. For your own risk. Please do yourself a favor and contact another firm. I will give them ZERO if I can. We lived at rental property in Saginaw for several years. Luckily I was smart enough to take lots of photos before we moved in, after we moved out and kept EVERY email we had. When we got the letter stating how much they were taking out of our deposit I was shocked. They tried to charge us to rekey the house and because the bathroom was nice clean enough (even though we paid the person that they wanted to clean the whole house). So we took them to court and we won a judgement.Court Case:JP04-18-SC00009453 out of Tarrant CountyThey have still not paid this judgement (judgement was on 1/31/2019). I will take this down once they do.

So I called their office (Kathy Singleton) she told me that she just mailed it. But I still not get after 1 week called her again and I told her she need to reimburse me $50.00 for the replace pool key.Surprisingly her responds were: Because I dropped the mail on the mail box. This is post office fault. This is your fault because you did not come to our office to pick up. This is nothing to do with me. This is unbelievable just like robbery.When I complained their service and Jerri Gilbert(the owner) respond to me The returned email or phone call are not on the contract.They are IRRESPONSIBLE AND ALWAYS ALWAYS BLAME SOMEONE.NEVER NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM (FIRST CHOICE: OWNER: JERRI GILBERT & KATHY SINGLETON). We found a home perfect for our family in Allen managed by First Choice Realtors and when we submitted our application they took our money and demanded extra money for another applicant who wasnt even on the lease! Then they declined the application the very next day without even even running it and refused to refund our application fees! Stay away from this company!
I would avoid this company. We used them for property management prior to putting our home on the market. We felt as though we worked for them. Communication was poor. Enforcement of HOA rules and leasing agreement with our tenant was non-existent. They are much better at excuses than anything else. Please do yourself a favor and contact another firm.

Do not do business with this company. They misrepresent their listings with inaccurate information. They do not fix dangerous requests, which should be fixed per the lease, until asked numerous times and when it is pointed out that there is a breach of contract. They try to blame the customer for their error (even though it is in writing on their part) and then threaten monetary penalties to the customer. Stay away from this company!
We have been leasing with First Choice for a little over a year and are NOT impressed. They are extremely slow to have repairs done if they get done at all. We are currently going on day 5 of no AC(its hot!). My husband and I have had to pay out of pocket on several occasions just to get things fixed in order to avoid the hassle of dealing with FC. In addition to repair issues, they are very unprofessional and rude. Save yourself the time and trouble and lease elsewhere!

Leigh was so rude to me as a call in customer... It speaks volumes when someone like this is the person assigned to working with your clients. When people are searching for a home, a terrible attitude is the last thing they want to encounter. I could never imagine working with them.
