The JCC is a great Family Place and has phenomenal amenities (classrooms, full size gymnasium, superior fitness equipment, and state of the art swimming pool) Its a Health and Wellness Center, that feels practically like a Private Club. Amongst the various other programs they offer for child and youth development. Fantastic place to know about in Pittsburgh PA !!
Great swimming pool, ❤️
Great place to continue rehab and workout getting stronger I live this place.
The Scott Twp. facility is a great place and is always clean. I swim there at least twice a week and the pool is well cared for!
They have a nice swimming pool and a nice fitness center and also personal trainers too
Like others have said in the reviews, they are catering to wealthy only. As visitors (daughter lives in Pittsburgh) to the area we asked about daily, weekly and monthly fees. I was quoted $15, $45, and $100. We travel frequently around the entire US and visit rec centers and Ys and have never seen prices this high. Guess they dont need any other patrons but their own elite.
First time swim “Guppy and Me” attendee. We’ve never been at the JCC before. The woman at the front desk ignored us as we were waiting to be buzzed in for at least 6-7 minutes. When I knocked on the window because I didn’t know how else to get recognized, she proceeded to yell at me for doing so. The class was in the corner of the pool with other individuals swimming laps. In the men’s locker room my husband heard an older patron yelling at another Dad from our class- angry that his child was crying in the pool and ruining the other members experience. Which begs me to ask why a children’s class isn’t separated from other members using the pool for laps, etc. The lifeguards running the class were nice. Overall, if you are looking for a welcoming atmosphere I would go somewhere else. The class isn’t worth the money and the cold, angry behavior of members and staff alike.
This is a very clean, pleasant facility. However, they don’t have a range of equipment that includes an upper body wheel or any recumbent workout machines. These would be excellent additions considering the senior citizens and recovering PT people that use the facility. Also, the only walking area is in the gym and that means that when groups are using the gym, you may be ducking from balls etc..
Had some decent summer camp memosA cousolor tried to drown me hereBut whatever it was like 7 years ago
Great clean lap pool! Great staff!
My son (2years) and I recently went to this facility for the first time and we both enjoyed it! Wonderful & helpful staff from the front desk, custodian and the life guard!! We are excited to come back!
The JCC Early Childhood Development Center has a newly enlisted admission practice component that will exclude children if they do not reside in a very specific, wealthy zip code. This preferred and mandatory attendance zone for admission is new, was without the best practice of prior notice before implementation, and this admission practice exclusion is not on the advertised Early Childhood Development Center admission material. Past or present experiences does not resolve or explain away this new exclusive admission practice or the manner by which this admission practice was implemented. We can better demonstrate the advertised Early Childhood Development Center being truly open and truly accessible, without the new, broad exclusions for admission. and without the adverse affects that exclusion brings - especially since the JCC South Hills Early Childhood Development Center admission was meant to welcome all under a communal umbrella to promote tangible love, acceptance, equality, and inclusion.Response: The location outlined for this review, The JCC South Hills location, as shared, does indeed have a new residency component that excludes and/or restricts admission within their Early Childhood Development Program. This new practice was without Prior-Notice and implementation notification was on the Same-Day as open enrollment began. With no Prior- Notice and implementation timing translating to Same-Day notification for an exclusion that wasnt an exclusion before, it is fair and reasonable that March 6, 2019s restriction be on ECDC advertised material in advanced and as a courtesy for the interested parents time whereas they can make fully informed decisions. Since feedback is not meant to be silenced nor intimidated to silence, thank you for the opportunity to provide it.
Quiet, people are not showy but simply working on their health or preparing for athletic. Very good equipment pool and gym.
Walked around an art viewing. Nice pool. Clean
Great swimming pool and very nice gym, 5 stars operation everything just functioning perfect in this facility
They re so great and extremely friendly, they really make you feel comfortable.
Great swimming program, nice pool, good gym. Very nice and helpful staff.
Great place to work out, excellent staff, a well run community center.
My children go to daycare here and we absolutely love it!
Offers comfort in exercizing and training,The environment is stimulating, as experienced.
In lady’s changing room, unscrupulous mother’s and sitters are bringing small boys to change. The average patron age seems to be north of 70. The pool is too cold, small, and crowded. In short - no, don’t enroll there.
Great place for workout, staff very helpful, nice atmosphere
Great organization, nice facilities, great staff
Great facility, but the constant music is beyond annoying.
Day care administration is terrible. The camp once out of the day care years is so so, but in the day care years it was just awful.
Heard this place was cool
