Industrial Athletics is the best gym I have belonged to. Ive been receiving private training with Matt and am having an amazing experience. First, hes a great guy and I enjoy working with him. Next, the coaching Im receiving is great. Hes really attentive to instructing me on perfect form of the complex lifts and movements. He makes corrections on the slightest details and Im feeling confidant that I am learning how to perform the movements correctly and in a way that will protect me from injury. Also, the coaches are positive, friendly and build personal connections. Im impressed that they know me by name after only a month of working out at the gym. With the focus on adjusting the exercises to be responsive to my current fitness level is really impressive. Im looking forward to making friends at the gym and getting plugged into the family-like atmosphere that is fostered there. Highly, highly recommended - Im having an amazing experience.
I joined the gym about 3 weeks ago and I have been really enjoying my time here. Matt, the owner, is so kind and has made me feel comfortable and welcome at the gym. There is a “Safe Space” piece of art in a frame on his desk which immediately made me feel relieved in my first meeting with him.Coach Rachel has been great with walking me through the fundamentals. She has provided great feedback and is really nice and patient. I love how the focus at the gym is doing things correctly in order to avoid injuries. The community feeling at the gym has been amazing. I’ve always felt isolated when working out at other gyms so having others around who are new and advanced all working towards improving themselves has been great.Overall I’ve had a great experience and I’d encourage anyone who is curious to come and check it out. I’m an introvert so I was nervous at first too but I’m so glad I showed up.
Accepting atmosphere, coaches always looking to help you improve and a really great place sweat and blow off some steam!
They have excellent equipment and the gym itself is pristine. Its always clean. It was clean before Covid and the system they have in place now is above and beyond.
Old school vibes with a get it done mentality. This is a great gym for the right price. Friendly staff, upgraded equipment, and a great atmosphere.
Industrial Athletics is one of the top three best things that Ive ever been a part of in Pittsburgh.I think I can easily say that Matt, Jen, and the entire team saved my life. When I did my first mini-workout, I was so out-of-shape as being a new dad that I almost passed out, but what Ive been able to do health and fitness wise in less than a year has amazed me and my family.I started at Industrial Athletics because it was really close to my job, and I needed to do something for my health. I wasnt really into Crossfit and was a bit ignorant about it, but the gym has completely changed my perspective because of the great coaching and community that now if I dont do some sort of Crossfit 3x a week I feel like something is off. They are extremely accommodating and have handled the pandemic better than most businesses. They continue to provide quality programming and coaching and are still focused on everyones health and safety.I can write 10,000 words about why Industrial Athletics is the best place in Pittsburgh but it all boils down to great community and fantastic coaching.
This isnt your stereotypical CrossFit box. These coaches care about form and more importantly, about you as a person. Its a respectful and fun community full of people from all ages and abilities. Matt and Jenn do a fantastic job leading the classes and pushing you to your limit while maintaining strict standards for your safety. Try the fundamentals class, you wont regret it.
Great crossfit gym. The coaching is second to none.
The coaches are informative, polite, and very professional. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Everyone encourages and keeps things positive. I love this place!
Great coaches, awesome location with easy parking, and the other members are really supportive and welcoming! Cant praise it enough. Helped me get stronger and healthier, and still challenges me every single day!
Dropped in one morning for a quick WOD and Matt and all the members were very welcoming and immediately made me very comfortable. I recommend this box all the way!
Great coaches, great programming, great community, and great facility, period. One of the best decisions I ever made was to start training here.
Love this place. Great facility. Great community. Great coaches. Very approachable for CrossFit noobs - like me a year ago :)
They just moved to a new location a block from their old location. Great coaches and people. They have SHOWERS. And great socials.
Did a drop in. Very friendly and knowledgeable team. Very good atmosphere with everyone there.
Great place that cares about its members and caters to all levels of fitness.
I have been a client of Industrial Athletics / CrossFit Alloy since day one, and have been incredibly satisfied with their service. I work out during the 5:30 evening session, although I am glad to have the flexibility to attend any of the other classes (6am, noon, 6:30pm on weekdays.)Each of the coaches with whom I work is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Tony has given me a lot of personalized help with olympic lifting and mobility issues that Ive had, and Steph has been the one to push me through workouts that I just didnt think I could finish. Theyre both great at keeping me motivated and at making sure I get a full hour of intense training.Industrial Athletics is in a great location with plenty of free parking. The equipment is new, the space is large enough to accommodate big classes, and the spirit of the place as much a community of friends as it is hardcore training facility.
I love this place! To say that Industrial Athletics CrossFit Alloy has changed my life is not hyperbole. I considered myself to be in fairly good shape, and I have even done CrossFit before in my recent past; however, when I started going to this gym, my perception of my own fitness as well as that of CrossFit in general drastically changed.I started pushing back my own frontiers and redefined my own definition of what it meant to be fit. Before going to Industrial Athletics CrossFit Alloy, Im afraid I had barely scratched the surface of my own physical ability. Now, Im doing things I never thought my 39 year old self could ever do.If this werent enough to get me excited about working out again, I now have three fantastic coaches who are looking out for me, providing top-notch instruction and motivation. I may not be the strongest or the fastest, but Ive become more determined than ever thanks to their help.Highly recommended!
Great box with close and supportive community.
