Best gym in the city hands down. Great price for a pool, sauna, stream room, and personal training! A little outdated with the decor but who cares! They have every piece of equipment I could ever need and really make going to the gym a pleasure not a chore.
This is hands down the best gym to be a part of. They have free weights, all the best machines and treadmills. Not to mention the gym is spotless. Ive been coming to this gym for 3 years. They also have personal trainers on Mondays at no cost.. all employees wear masks. This gym is 24 hours as well.. If you live in the Pittsburgh area I would make this gym your top choice. !!!
We absolutely love Club Julian! They have every machine we want and love that it’s 24 hours. You always see the cleaning staff working to keep things looking really nice!
Club Julian is always great to work with. I love their helpful staff. During Covid-19 they have worked hard to keep everyone safe. And they immediately started to clean the equipment more consistently. It feels more inviting Ave friendly than the corporate clubs Ive tried.
This place is amazing! There are so many different kinds of classes you can take. The equipment is always available. They offer free personal training. Plus, there’s a pool, hot tub and a wet and a dry sauna! So happy we joined!
Quality gym for the most part, very clean. Sometimes the music is bad and the gym closes on the weekend at 6, which can inconvenience, but those are my only gripes. Great facilities and personal training options, would recommend membership.
Been coming here for years, club is spotless, and the members are like family
Always so clean and the people that work there are so friendly and helpful.
I was concerned originally since their pricing was not posted online. However, calling them they readily provided pricing over the phone, then when we came in for the tour it was the same pricing, no surprises. Membership is annual though with opt in renewal.Ok enough about all that, how about the gym itself? A great variety of equipment, including weight machines, some rowers and fancy (non-Peloton) bikes. The pool is not huge but I got a great workout anyway, and it was so great to use!
Absolutely enjoyable! Its worth the time & effort to maintain a healthy productive lifestyle
I really like it except that they have no elevator access and a really steep flight of stairs to the main floor.
Love this gym!!! Everyone is super nice and the customer service is out of this world
Good workout. Friendly staff
Not crowded. Must be a member. Handicap accessible
Just joined The girl who signed me up was awesome. It is the cleanest gym Ive ever seen and not crowded at all
Very clean...the staff is very freindly... And always leave with a smile and new friends
Good clean gym.
Best gym with tje best people
First and foremost one thing that is necessary at a workout facility is cleanliness and this place has it. The staff is also very friendly as well. They offer one-on-one personal training at no cost and not only have a pool, sauna and whirlpool but have a steam-room as well. They have numerous classes during the month and offer massages as well. But the main reason why I have stayed here all these years is I am made to feel like it is a spa that caters to their clientele and not some workout facility with not enough staff and smells from not being kept up with.
Love it!! Im a new member, but the atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is friendly, and its not intimidating. You go in, and no one judges you. You can be thick, thin, young, old... We all have the same goal, to better ourselves.A pricier gym, but worth it. Pool, steam room, hot tub, free classes.Massages and tanning has a charge.Love it! Super clean and welcoming!
It was great to get back to the gym.
Been a member for a week now so I dont know too much about the place but I got my own personal trainer free. He has 4 years college in the field. I am very confident about my workout program. Love the pool, hot tub and sauna also.
Me and my wife really enjoy the variety of exercise options, classes, and availablilty of trainers on hand. Great experience, 3 weeks in and only getting better.
I visited the gym on Monday to possibly join the gym. Ive been looking into different gyms for a while and even though I had hesitations about the club, I decided to put those hesitations aside. I had an interview with the club three years ago and after my second interview with them, I had declined the job because it didnt seem like a good atmosphere for me and it seemed as if they cared about the business more than the employees based off of my personal experience and I didnt want to work for that kind of company as I didnt get a good first impression from them. I also heard from a family member, who used to be a member, who also had a bad experience from the club but I decided to put my hesitations aside because I like to give people/places a second chance and I thought maybe it would be a good place to work out. However, I was wrong. The place wasnt as cleaned as they bragged, especially in the locker rooms. I seen other gyms that were a lot cleaner and better than the club. The work out areas were too small, I didnt understand why we had to reserve the machines and when the manager said that, I immediately decided I wasnt going to join because I dont want my workouts to be interrupted. The manager didnt show me certain spots of the gym like the steam room and the room behind the pool. Finally after the tour was over, the manager wanted me to sign up right away and got kinda rude when I said I wanted to think about it. Unlike the other gyms who were understanding and even offer a guest pass to see how I like the gym, the manager tried to talk me out of looking at other gyms and said some things about the atmosphere of the gym I wanted to look at next that I took offense too. In the end, while I still havent decided what gym to join, I know I am crossing Club Julian off my list because I know its not the right atmosphere for me and the cost of the gym isnt worth it at all for me. However I do wish the manager who helped me and the club the very best of luck. The manager who helped me was very nice and I do appreciate him letting me visit the club but unfortunately I just dont think itll work out for me. If you want to work out at a gym thats small, want to work with a personal trainer, and dont mind reserving the machines or exercising in a small pool, I do recommend the gym especially since training is included in the package. If you are unsure of what to gym to join like I currently am, I wouldnt recommend checking out club julian because once they know you want to look at other gyms in the area, they will say and do whatever they can to try to get you to change your mind and make their gym seem like the best option in the area so prepare for them to try to talk you out of it. Im glad I went with my gut instinct and decided not to sign up after all because I dont want to consider a gym that cant respect you wanting to keep your options open. I still wish them luck with their business and hope they can take this review as feedback on how they can improve.Note: Ive been debating on whether or not Ive been wanting to post another review because I posted one on Tuesday and mentioned the manager s name that helped me and wrote a negative but very honest review against the manager and they saw it/reached out to me. Im not going to mention what was said in the voicemail I received from the manager because thats not the point. However I did feel bad for singling them out and deleted it. After thinking about it, I felt like I shouldnt have deleted my first review or feel bad for writing my honest opinion so I posted it again and this time chose not to mention any names as they already saw it and know how I felt. Im only posting my honest review to help potential members and to give feedback to the gym. I am moving on from my experience at the club after I post this.
Great gym! I joined a few months ago and enjoying coming to work out. There is a variety of machines and I’ve always been able to get the kind I’d like and it is very clean. I especially like the sauna/steam room/hot tub in the wet area.
Had a great experience while here. Definitely appreciate that training sessions are included in the price, but it can be hard to get an appointment sometimes because theres only a few available at a time. I had to cancel my membership because I moved out of state and there was no issue getting a refund on what I had prepaid. Locker was always clean and staff were polite.
I’ve been coming here for several years and love how clean it is, the friendly, laid back atmosphere, and the large selection of group fitness classes. The pool/steam room/hot tub/sauna area is a great bonus, and you can’t beat the free personal training!
If it werent for all the old white guys standing in the pool ogling everyone else like its their own personal watering hole, this would be an ok gym. Small pool. Usually crowded. Not disability friendly as all the work out equipment is upstairs with no elevator to get to it. I liked the staff though. Just not the members so much.
I have been going to this gym for about 2 months. The trainers are helpful and kind, it is impeccably clean and there are lots of machines and equipment! I have not been in the pool as thats not part of my workout routine so I cant comment but it looks nice!
I have been to this gym a few years ago like 4 to 5 years, my reason for leaving this gym because of surgery I had to get, but its a very nice gym. Free trainer, pool the works..Im planning on going back ..
My experience was nothing but positive. One thing that stood out about the gym itself is the cleanliness. However, the best part is the trio of Jim, Jermell, and Justin. They are all cool guys and quite knowledgeable when it comes to weight-training. The kicker is you have to go past 10p.m. to see them, but well worth it. If I ever move back to the area I will immediately re-join.
I love this gym. They have a lot to offer; weight lifting, cardio, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness classes, free personal training, etc. The people are very friendly and you get to know a lot of them seeing them every day. Definitely would recommend coming here.
This is without a doubt a 5 star gym. As per the other reviews, yes the senior demographic is the majority here, but there is still a fair mix of younger people that frequent. The amenities are outstanding. Someone previously commented that the pool smells bad which is flat out incorrect. The wet area here is very clean and if you see something that is amiss a lifeguard will address it immediately. The entire gym is clean as well. The downside here, for me, is the price. Youre looking at around 50 bucks a month but in my opinion it is well worth it. The inside is not huge compared to other places but its never overly crowded so its rarely an issue. They are open 24 7 except on Sat. and Sun.
Great gym. Love the staff and amenities with this membership. Swimming, hot tub, sauna, and steam room help complete your daily workout. Excellent classes with good trainers.
Wonderful experience. Love the old people who work out here, they dont mess with you, and there is usually never a line for the machines. The down side to this place is that the pool is undersized and it smells like urine. All in all, I would say that this gym is the best gym Ive ever belonged to.
I love Club Julian. It has great trainers and staff who are always so helpful. It is spotlessly clean. I also appreciate the speakers they have come in to give us useful information on how I can improve and maintain my health.
The staff is very friendly. The facilities are very clean! The other patrons are respectful and its an all-around good place to go to workout! I usually go around 7 PM on weeknights, and thats when the crowd is typically dwindling down, so machines are available for use, Im never waiting for something that I would like to use.
They work with active and fit direct, but they have no idea how it works. Thought it would be nice to switch my gyms up. I went here a few times over the course of a couple months just to change up the scenery. Everyone is over the age of 60 and the sauna, pool, and hottub are always infested with senior citizens. Free weight area is the size of a sheetz bathroom. This gym is perfect for anyone not serious about getting in shape.
The staff is friendly. The facility is clean. The choices of equipment is satisfactory.Great price! I love the 24 hour service.
A member for over 16 years. This is how fitness should be run. Clean, professional and Julian has all the machines, free weights, pool, sauna, steam and to finish off your workout there is a large whirpool. Everything about Club Julian is top shelf especially their trainers and cleaning staff.
I was a recent member but had to move. Ill miss this place. Great hours, its never overly crowded, and the atmosphere is nice..new(ish) equipment that is kept up well-rarely see anything out of order. Would highly recommend.
Cleanest gym Ive ever been to. The free personal training was a selling point, and the group fitness classes are a lot of fun.
Fair membership prices, free classes and training! Ultra clean facility. The only negative I can think of is the pool is very small. Overall a great gym.
Love this gym! Very clean. Tanning bed bulbs are always bright the tanning packages are great priced!
If you are looking for a gym that is clean and friendly this is the one! Everything is always spotless and the trainers really kick everyones butt, in a good way! You can use me as a referral!
Cleanest spa/gym in my opinion. Friendly staff, always enjoy exercising here.
Love this gym. Always clean. Employees are great ☺
I have been a member for 10 years. Yes there are a disproportionate amount of older members, but I have not found it to be a problem. It is the best health club I have ever belonged to. Not only are the trainers free, they are also excellent. I would select this over LA fitness anytime. :)
Pool area needs some updating and repair. Good club, nice selection of strength training machines.
Great staff, good equipment and wet area with small pool, hot tub, sauna and steam rooms.
This gym is so over crowded that it makes it impossible to work out and it seems to be at all hours. Also, I constantly get emails with offers to bring more people into that packed gym and the problem seems to be getting worse. Another disappointment was realizing they advertise as a 24 hour gym but they in fact close quite early on the weekend and are closed for most holidays. Make sure you dont get roped into a contract if you want to lift weights as well, seeing that their weight room is the size of a guest bedroom and have up to 12 people crammed into it at a time and in order to get to the machines you need to go back through the locker room and up a flight of steps. This poor layout of the building also has the 2 toilets of the mens locker room directly in the center of the room, so if someone is going number 2 you can not only hear it but smell it. Hands down the worst gym Ive ever been to. Its more like a social club for retired men than a gym.
Cleanest gym around, plenty of equipment, frequent group classes, and access to one-on-one personal training about every other week. And it is almost always open.
A great health club .With a variety of ages of the membership.Very clean.
Its great to be back!
Personal trainers are free with membership, everyone is polite and personable, lots of cardio classes including Zumba. The place is always spotless, and they are open 24/7.
Many classes for all fitness levels. Lots of equipment-never had to wait.
Clean and in good order. Love the inside track
Its a good club for all ages.......I did see a bad report and yes I do live across the street but we have about 100 units here; and only about 3 old people go to the gym..by the way...we dont have cads or Lincolns..lol.....and we do try to do what our doctors tell us. However........Im not there every week! Good luck with that.....I get there when I can..and they are nice to me! Yes they do have young people. My son just walked through and wants to join. Maybe its ok to help old people...and we have judges and so many people that are not old.....! So many people that really are good. I felt bad when I saw that one write-up about the old people wow........! I waited to late to hit that man in the face....some go to this club for health and not to pick up women! Wow.........! I went back; after reading the blog lol, no one commented on what I was wearing..like no juice bar if its juice your looking for...no; This is a health club! And Im 57 years old and if that is old to you......lol NO MORE PINK FLOYD FOR CREEPS! HEALTH IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET FROM A NATION LIKE THIS!
Club Julian helped changed my views about the culture over the time.Got a good trainer, Gavin!
Clean changing rooms. Like the pool. Have trainers to help. Open 24 hours. Indoor walking Lane.
The staff is always friendly, the place is always clean, and the equipment is well taken care of.
Like a country club 😃
Fun place. Great staff.
Not a fan of signing in equipment before I can use it. Otherwise no complaints.
Not a bad price, place has been around for a long time. I use to belong there but got tired of being surrounded by senior citizens, no offense.
Love the personal touches.. great for seniors
Very nice gym with an indoor pool.
Very clean, friendly staff, friendy management reasonable price, nice Fitness club if its the type of Club you are interested in ...Its not a meat market .... if you want a meat market go to the night club ....Watch out for the grandmothers they secretly take steroids and will kick your butt
Clean. Courteous staff. Knowledgeable trainers.
Awesome gym! Clean, staff is friendly.
Clean, well-maintained gym. Pool and sauna included.
Very clean friendly staff love this place!
Don’t join or give them the time of day. Rude employees, old equipment, and waste of money.
They should switch up the age limit to 14 to get in!
Cleanest gym Ive ever belonged to.
Very clean, helpful staff, great atmosphere.
Just wanted to thank Mile and Rhonda at Club Julian for how they do business, very professional and very intentional about doing well for their customers. If you are in the area and in a quality gym, I would suggest them, Thanks!
When you expect the best
Friendly staff and so many choices in machines, plus a pool!
Great gym; clean, good people, equipment, classes!
Very clean gym and the pool is very nice too
They have it all and then some. Work out, rest in the sauna and go tanning all in one trip.
This is the best gym i have ever been
This place has many drawbacksIts very datedI MEAN THE INTERIOR WALLS LOOK OLD. THE LOCKERS ARE DATED THE ENTIRE PLACE NEEDS MAJOR UPDATINGThe equipment is all on a low ceiling upper floor which is inconvenient !!!!!!!!!!The parking lot is tight and not adequate and staff members smoke at the entryTHIS IS A HEALTH CLUB FOR CRYING OUT LOUDThis is not 24/7Oh and there are hoards of very old and very obese people hereI think the Ross township yinzer class is fine with this dump
