Its a nice gym me and my friends come up here
One of the BEST gyms Ive had the pleasure working out at and constantly renewing my membership. Great folks greet you at the front desk as you come in. Members are awesome. Equipment is great. Owners, Tracy and Jeff, been in business for decades. Theres a good reason for that. Great gym!
Great gym.Stopped in for a day pass visit and was welcomed with open arms.
This gym has absolutely everything you need for an amazing workout. They have unique equipment to get the job done you’re looking for. Great owners and motivating people in the gym grinding and working hard. Highly recommend going here. Very reasonable place too!
Love this gym, I go to a handful of gyms (always based on where I need to go afterwards) but I will be making it a point to make this my main gym. Their concern is quality/quanity of equipment. Which is fantastic. A lot of gyms focus on having new equipment, functionality is an after thought. That is not life force. Yes it can get a little tight if its super busy but there is enough equipment that you are never waiting. I have never had a single issue and for that like I have stated this will be my main gym going forward.
Best gym in Pittsburgh from equipment to staff to members hands down!
I dont care where you live. World class facilities great trainers, great staff, best around! No excuse to go anywhere else. This gym has it all.
I lifted here for about 6 months. ~90% of the small facility is taken up by bodybuilding and cardio machines with a small corner with 2 racks, a monolift, and a platform. Probably great for bodybuilding, and decent for powerlifting. Not possible to train strongman here at all due to lack of space and almost no equipment. Good if you want bars and machines.
The grey-haired employee at the check-in desk was unprofessional and rude, to the point of speaking offensively. Who cares what the facilities are like if the employee at the front desk treats customers with disrespect? I would never step foot in there again. Nor wld I ever recommend this gym to anyone.
Love this gym! I usually try to go 5 days a week. Its nice and quiet, clean, and plenty of room for everyone on weekdays. The most busiest day is Saturday though.
In response to John Ballish. This may be one of the most embellished lies I’ve ever heard. These were my dogs and yes they are pit bulls. I own two. The one, my 18 month old never left my side and is a complete baby and the one that ran up to him was five months old and simply smelled him while wagging her tail in excitement. Both of my dogs are well behaved and very obedient. They frequent this gym on occasion and everyone loves seeing them as they are exceptionally friendly and a pleasure to be around. Tracy the owner is a huge dog lover and loves having loyal patrons bring their dogs for a visit. This gym is a great local facility that treats members like friends and family.
After experiencing both LA Fitness and Planet Fitness, I can safely say a local gym like Lifeforce is the way to go. No hidden fees, straight to the point, as helpful as well as helpful staff, a working atmosphere, great equipment. Spent 15 months here to condition for NCAA before going off to college, definitely a great experience that Ill enjoy coming back to.
Very nice selection of machines and weights
One of the best gyms in the country. A true Pittsburgh landmark. Great staff and clothing for sale as well
Best gym i’ve ever been to, it’s great for experienced lifters and beginners. Everyone here is awesome, from the staff to the people who workout. Almost anyone is willing to help you if you just take the time to ask. Absolutely the best experience i’ve ever had in a gym and i’ve been coming here for years and i’ve never been to a gym with better equipment or people.
This review is intended for those who suffered domestic abuse and fear a violent ex partner, or a stalker.I didn’t want to write a negative review. I loved this gym and it was my favorite one in the area. But the more I reflected on what happened, the more I felt it was my responsibility to warn others who may find themselves in my position. In summary, an individual who physically assaulted me and emotionally abused me during the short duration of our relationship began working out at Lifeforce. He kept approaching me, staring at me, and using his size to physically intimidate me as I tried to exercise.I brought my concerns to the management. I opened up about what I suffered at his hands. They observed his behavior towards me and found it suspicious as well. The manager and owner promised me she would do something about it, that I didn’t have to leave, that she would handle things. Her gym was safe; it was a family gym. Assured, I let things rest. After about a week, he showed up again. I approached the owner for help, only to find her unwilling to step in. All it took to sway her opinion was a weak apology and outright lies from him. He claimed he would leave their facility when he saw me; but he did not leave. And she did not help me.“I honestly don’t believe he’s capable of hurting anyone,” she said, to ME, someone who knew full well just how much he could hurt. She practically yelled it at me as I exited her office. Her betrayal felt like a punch to the stomach.Lifeforce refused me a partial refund. I paid for a full month, and only enjoyed a week at their facility before I had to leave. The owner’s prior commitments to my safety were empty promises at best, or downright lies at worst. Please be advised, do not attend this gym if you rightfully fear someone from your past. The staff will not help you. Lifeforce is a business first. Its primary goal is to make money. Customers and their safety is secondary at best. And speaking of security, Lifeforce is small. It is not well lit. It is not well maintained and often understaffed. Young teenagers man the front desk amidst a sea of hulking patrons. Lifeforce is set far apart from the other businesses and away from the public eye. Their parking lot is dark, nearly pitch black at night. They lack security cameras monitoring the outside building. The whole environment invites potential assault and violent situations.Learn from my mistakes. A commercial gym is brightly lit and better maintained, with more staff and safer parking areas. More people means more safety and more potential witnesses should something occur. Please consider my warning if you are a survivor of domestic violence. And if you are not, consider it anyway. Be safe.
I love this gym! Every fitness level co-exists in perpetuity here. I love the atmosphere--the equipment--the staff, and the prices! Do you want to train at a fitness center that has good music, great parking availability, and great equipment--then it is definitely work checking out. Everything is clean, everything works, and even with my short stay it feels more like a community and less like a high end, posh health club.
Decent little gym, staff is super friendly just gets real crowded no matter what time of day but guess that is the sign of a good gym
Best gym, friendliest people, incredible equipment, great hours, knowledgeable staff. Im very grateful this place was referred to me although I keep my other membership open when I cant get here or go out of state.
