Long wait., untrained staff. Poor haircut. Might get better with experience

I truly do not understand how the queue works. I checked in online, then arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled time, and signed in as soon as I arrived. 15 minutes pass, and my queue time stays listed as 2 minutes for about 30 minutes. Then, a little bit later, it jumps to 24 minutes, while the wait time for the two people in front of me are over an hour and about 30 minutes, respectively. I simply dont understand how this is possible mathematically, nor do I understand how the queue can be so off with timing. This is frustrating for people who have time commitments during the day, and though I would have gladly waited had I not been busy, I had no choice but to leave with time wasted.

I have never been to a sports clips. What an interesting experience. The name gives me anxiety. I know nothing about sports. I was given the MVP Experience. Beard Trim, Hair Cut/Wash, Steamed Towel massage. It cost 30 dollars, it was worth it! I wouldnt have chosen the option because it is kinda pricey. I will go back.

I typically think of sports clips as a budget…so-so spot to get a fast haircut. This place was cheap, fast, and possibly one of the better haircuts Ive gotten in a while. The convo was great and I was in and out with exactly what I wanted.

Friendly, careful, and above all talented. My first experience at Sport Clips was fantastic and surely won’t be my last. Bailey gave me the best hair cut I’ve had in years. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get a clean, professional cut.

Went to get a simple buzz cut and it seemed fine until I got home and noticed that my hairline and near my ears hadn’t been done well at all. Still had obvious areas with longer hair. I came here so that I wouldn’t have to do it myself and worry about having random patches of longer hair, but ended up having to fix it at home with my own clippers. They don’t do refunds so I wasted $20. Never going here again, totally unprofessional.

The wait time was a little longer but understandable on a friday! Amanda was my stylist,she was very nice & did a fantastic job. My experience was definitely the best since my barber passed away over a year ago.The haircut was great & she was very maticolous with the beard trim & it turned out great.I must say i will definitely use the app in the future & request Amanda as my stylist.Thanks again.

I regularly get my hair cut here and its always been a positive experience. Jocelyn always does a great job, not only cutting and styling hair, but she also explains how to keep your hair healthy and recommends great products to use for your specific hair style and type.

Moving to Pittsburgh I had to find a new place to get my haircut. My first cut was with Erica who is super easy to talk to, friendly, and cuts my hair perfectly! The other girl who cuts my hair when Erica isnt around is Andrea! Shes sweet, friendly, and gives me great haircuts as well! The overall crew here is awesome and are very hard-working. Even when its super busy they are calm and easy going! Online check-in feature is wonderful and makes everything so much easier. Erica also helped me with a product for my hair and I appreciate it so much. Shout-out to Andrea and Erica for making my haircut experience pleasant and easy!! Plus you get to watch sports and who doesnt love that! Check this place out. The girls are phenomenal and take pride in what they do.

I just got back from a haircut and unfortunately it was terrible. I did not get the chance to check it out properly while I was there partly because I was distracted with a phone call, and also because my hairdresser did not show me a rearview of my haircut. Even though It wasnt what I expected from the front I thought it looked acceptable since hair will grow back afterall. The back of my head however seems to have been cut or styled by two different people. The right side does not match my left! Hair dressers are always nice and give great cuts. When I go in for my usual they always remember what small details I like to have. I have gone in unsure of a hair style I wanted to try but walked out with confidence that it was a good look for me because of how well she tailored it to me. Definitely come here!

The staff were very welcoming and to the point. The layout of the inside and the location are nice too. This is right on Pitt’s campus. You can also check in online or through the app before you get there so that you don’t have a long wait!

I have been in places where they are passionate about haircuts and they know what they do. Here I found none of these features, I got a simple haircut and I had to guide the hairdresser every minute. Im sorry but not coming back. I do appreciate the massage and the treatment, but thats it.

I’ve YET to go to Sport Clips of Oakland but after seeing a commercial on TV this morning, I decided to check this hair salon/barber shop out!As I’ve read through most of the posted reviews, some refer to this store as a Barber Shop; others call it a Hair Salon. Even the description of Sport Clips on Google refer to it as a Hair Salon! So which is it, Sport Clips?The reason I’m asking is most if not ALL of the posted reviews appear to be written by males. Yet, when asked if Sport Clips offers women’s cuts, I know I read a rep from the company said that their stylists know both male AND female hair and can cut/style both! Not REALLY an answer but IMPLIES that Yes! Women cuts ARE offered! (Although not on the Price List, Lol!)Soooooo, SPORT CLIPS, what’s the explicit answer to the question: “Does Sport Clips of Oakland offer female cuts/styles along with males???” Price? What’s included? (I’m sure females don’t care for a “Hot Towel” amenity!) And, I personally would love to know if this Sport Clips location (Oakland) has EVER had a FEMALE CLIENT?? (I don’t relish the idea of being The First! 😝)Can I get an “answer response” FROM Sport Clips (and NOT one of those rote responses!)

Checked in online and arrived at the recommended time. Waited 30 more minutes and they took my name off without talking to me. I suppose I can get haircuts elsewhere.

Quick, nice place to get a haircut. Friendly staff. Hot towel is nice. Just sign in online and you can make it much faster for yourself.

I was introduced to sports clip in California and when I moved to Pittsburgh I thought I can continue the visits. I don’t know if it is me or something else but somehow the stylists (I have tried three) there is a bit aggressive and impatient. It’s a bit hard for me to try to get some style advice when they look bored and seem like just want to get over with it. I don’t usually leave reviews but after 3, 4 bad experiences I think I should share my experience.

I made an appointment online and when I arrived the two employees were cleaning in the back and visibly saw me waiting with my mask on for 10 minutes. They never opened the door, never talked to me, just went about there time when I had a scheduled haircut. So unprofessional to not even open the door and tell me if they couldn’t cut my hair at this time. Never going to a Sport Clips again.

Horrible, simply horrible. Probably because I was second to last customer that evening or probably they dont have idea of Indian hairs, I dont know. I told her that I am not very inclined toward any particular style but given my face, which is round, and my hairs which were not cut for two months, I wanteda nice hair cut (with short hairs at sides). I told her that she might even suggest me some cut that she thinks will suit me. She didnt look interested in giving it any style, took machine and it was all clean.... Shortened to very small hairs all over the head, up, side everywhere. I looked like a goon after that cut man.... Now its going to take another 2 months to have some hair over my head. Had to go to the lab after the cut, but I was so depressed after the cut that I went straight to my apartment and slept. Will never be back to sport clips (in front of Super cut across the street) again.Also the charge was $20 for cut, then there was on the screen how much you want to add (tip) $5/$10/15/other? I was fool to not to go to other and in rush clicked $5. So it was $25 in total🙄🙄

Did not like the fact my stylist responded to text messages during my hair cut. Although is past on the shampoo because I was getting a crew cut, I believe I should have received the hot towel and shoulder massages. Which I did not. What I got was not worth the price I paid

It was my first time going so I had no idea what was going on, got a excellent cut, advice on caring for my hair, my hair washed, and they got me in and out as quick as possible. They know exactly what theyre doing, I highly recommend. Definitely worth the price.

Been coming here for about 9-months. The wait is always long but because of the online check-in its never been an issue. The stylists working are always very nice, even when they are swamped. I definitely would recommend.

I have been going to Sport Clips Pittsburgh-Oakland for about three years now and every time I get my haircut I am extremely pleased with the job. I highly recommend trying this place out and all the stylists are talented. I would suggest trying to get Andrea to cut your hair, she does an excellent job every time I come in to get my haircut. Aside from getting a regular haircut the stylists can also shampoo your hair and give you a massage so its a win-win.

Had a bad experience today. Not the usual for this place, especially since they write down what cut you get and have it on hand for next time. I got my normal and it was not what I typically get. I’m going to have to wait a month for it to grow back out now so I can go get it fixed.

The dictionary defines excellent as extremely good; outstanding. I define it as Andrea and Ashley. Both truly know what they are doing in this industry. Theres no comparison to their friendliness, and skills. Supercuts needs to give these two a raise! I would highly recommend this location!!

Horrible experience. Hairdresser was distracted and often texted during the cut. She cut my hair leaving the back hairs sticking up and the rest of my hair resembling Macaulay Culkin’s bowl cut in Home Alone. I was also charged for an MVP cut but I did not receive a hair wash or anything in that package. Will try and post pictures of the cut. I regret leaving a tip.Edit: left a picture of the haircut

Maybe it was my fault for stopping in at 7:00pm on a Monday... unless I had an appointment, in which I did.The hair stylist was constantly checking her watch and really speeding through the haircut. I will not complain about quality, as the cut looked very good, but since she was rushing me, I had no intention as a customer to ask about hair products and really had no confidence to ask to get my hair washed, something that should come with the MVP package that I ordered.It’s difficult for me to see myself coming back to a Sport Clips store again (especially when Super Cuts is right across the street). As a customer with experience in customer service, I think this organization is losing easy money from people like me who are willing to buy into their products IF the service is exemplary.I hope this review finds itself into the right hands and management adjusts accordingly. No appointment ever, walk-ins are welcome - Just come in any time. Unless you show up an hour and a half before closing and they turn you away and say come back tomorrow. Store hours are never updated on website / google.
