Homer is the best service that I ever used. The price is reasonable. And they would not ask any fees if they cant repair something. Theyre fast, reliable and never lie to consumers. I highly recommend this place.

I had taken my car in for state inspection after receiving a big list of problems from the dealer. I got an estimate of 20% less than the dealer quoted price. That’s not what I’m used to. I can’t say that’s cheap but the owner was nice and tried to work with me. Offered that if I buy parts from stores and bring them, they will install with a slight labor upcharge. So that was a positive. I could have saved about 10% if I went that route.. but the hassle was too much.I have to add that the pricing part was a bit weird. For example some jobs were much cheaper than the dealer (as expected for non OEM part installation) but things like putting in new brakes were actually quoted more than the dealer ($190 vs dealer at $172).I liked the overall service. I will go back next time.

When my car was in for inspection, a lot needed to be fixed - they helped me by explaining the repairs, showing me the cost breakdown, and giving me time to decide how to proceed. They are always honest and helpful. I have been there numerous times and they have always provided excellent work and customer service! I cannot recommend them enough.

They were quick, efficient, and managed to keep prices down by finding good used parts for my car. A different mechanic had quoted my car as needing over $1000 of work to pass inspection, but Homers was able to get it done for $250 😃. Ill definitely be going back if i need service again. They also were honest that they couldnt beat someone elses price for air conditioning maintenance. Honesty is my biggest value in finding a good mechanic to trust!

Simply put, I was skeptical of them and then my sketicsm was not heeded, then they screwed up my car, and doesnt drive the same way it did before I brought it to them, for a simple a thing as replacing the battery. Will never go back to them ever again. Had to take it to the dealership anyway, which is what I was trying to avoid.

Homers is incredible. Weve been taking our two family cars there for four or five years now, and theyve always done great work, and their pricing has always been very fair. On several occasions theyve refused to charge us for very simple, quick work. I have recommended them to many people, and everyone who has used them always concurs. Theres often no one at the counter, so you should plan on waiting a bit whether calling or showing up in person, but it is well worth it to deal with honest, good mechanics. Thank you guys!

I’m a bit surprised by the glowing reviews about the pricing. I had brought my car here a few weeks ago and the prices were actually more than most other shops I had asked. Maybe it’s the employee you deal with that matters. But I wouldn’t recommend going here.

I was there for a State inspection and oil change. Since it was a Saturday I expected it to take several hours. Everything was done in about an hour. Mr Homer was friendly and professional.I would recommend his service station any time.

Went to another auto repair shop and got an absurdly high quote for unnecessary repairs to pass inspection, so I took it to Homers for a second opinion. Quote was much more reasonable(about half for the same work) and he was honest about not technically needing to get the work done to pass inspection, but that he thought it would he a good idea with the onset of winter. Trust is extremely important to me with a mechanic, and I really appreciated his honesty. Will certainly be going back here

I have been going to these guys for about 2 years now. The first time was when my earlier shop told me I needed to spend 1500 on repairs on my 8 yr old car to get the inspection sticker. I took it to Homers and they passed the inspection and my car has run fine for last 2 years for 20000 miles. I have taken my car there multiple times after, they are knowledgeable auto professionals, they are always honest and never overcharge.During the day all of them are busy working in the shop so sometimes it is difficult to get in touch with them during the day. Your best bet is to drop your car off and wait for them to call you. For the great service they provide at the great cost,you gotta cut them some slack 😁

I have had great experiences with Homer’s over the years. They are honest and they don’t over-charge. They have a large and loyal customer base which means they are always busy, so I try to call in advance if possible but they have always worked with me when I needed something done quick. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood. I don’t take my vehicles anywhere else.

My windshield wiper bolt was loose. They were able to take care of me in less than a minute. Didnt even charge me anything. Will be back for all my mechanic needs. Great service.

OMG! I got there after hours with a truck tire that needed fixed. they opened the garage back up to accommodate me and help me out in a time that I really needed someone to help me out. Great people. It wasnt an easy fix either but they managed to get it done.

Very well ran family business the service is magnificent the staff there is wonderful and kind very quick to help you figure out your car needs and fix the problems.

Discovered my tire had a bad leak. Called Homers to see if this is something they could fix. Mechanic told me to bring it in anytime and they would take care of it. I arrived to the shop maybe 30 minutes later. They had my car in a bay within 10 minutes despite how busy they were. The leak ended up coming from the valve stem gut. They tightened it for me and had me back on the road with NO CHARGE since it was a quick fix!! Thats good business. The guys were polite and professional. I will be back for future maintenance and other car needs. Highly recommend using them for any car troubles.

I had a leaky tire and was planning to drop my car off at lunch. The guys took it in and repaired the leak in 20 minutes while I waited. This is one of many great experiences I have had here. I never write reviews for anything but these guys are awesome and really deserve it.

Affordable and straightforward, honest service. Every repair I have had done has been fairly priced and completed quickly. The mechanics communicate well and answer questions. What really impressed me is that they allowed me to order my own windshield wiper nozzle replacements instead of ordering them and billing me like other places would. These mechanics are good and they dont rip you off. I went to a dealer wanting to sling over 1K of repairs for it to pass inspection and started going to Homers for honest repairs and inspections. HOWEVER, they are impossible to ever schedule an appointment. Every time it takes calling into the shop over and over throughout the day. Im just giving up and taking it down to the place on Forward in S. Hill. :(

I was looking for a place to get a quick oil change at a fair price. I was hesitant to give Homers a try after reading some bad reviews but I decided to give it a shot and an glad I did.The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I waited only 30 minutes from the time they pulled my car in to the time I was driving home. Everyone stopped to say hi while in the waiting room which I thought was nice. I will be bringing all of my vehicle back for service to Homers after having such a positive experience.

This place is fantastic! Its so difficult to find a reliable, reasonable mechanic in the city. But, these guys go above and beyond. Inspections are always affordable and quick. And, they dont try to lie to you or talk you into fixing something you dont need to fix. Just yesterday, I was having an awful day and to top it off, my car started to make a terrible high-pitched scraping noise. I brought it into Homers, and they fixed it within a day. The best part: they didnt even charge me! I was floored! Ive never heard of a mechanic doing that. These guys have my business for life. Definitely worth checking out!

While its difficult to get a hold of them by phone (I have yet to be successful, but they were very helpful when I just stopped by), I will definitely be back! They were super busy and take cars by appointment, so make sure to call and get one.My brakes were feeling off on my civic so I called and brought it in. The next day, I got a call that it needed new brake lines, pads, rotors, and gas lines as everything on the 97 civic was rusting out.They gave me an incredibly reasonably estimate to fix it but also gently suggested I may want to consider buying another car at this juncture, given the amount of work necessary. This turned out to be the best route for me.I came to pick it up, and they actually comped the inspection and some minor work theyd done on the headlights, given that I was losing my baby.I am from out of state and wish I had a homers nearby.

I have been going to Homers for 12 years. I dont know what happened but this place has changed for the worst. I was getting my 2001 car inspected over the summer, it needed a sway bar. I waited a week and called to see if the part was in, but J.R. forgot to order the part. I waited another week and he never called back. It was obvious he didnt want to repair the car because I had mentioned that he did repair the sway bar 2 & a half years ago, so if it needs to be repaired or replaced, I would hope to get a discount. He had no intention on repairing my car for a discounted price. I now can thank Homers for poor customer service because I bought a new car. (Mercedes Benz 350C)The owner contacted me after reading the review. I am pleased to say that it was a misunderstanding. Not to many businesses will take the time out to contact a disgruntled customer. I will continue to get my new car serviced at homers

Brought my car in for a few problems. Hadnt brought it to the dealership ever so i figured Id try. Dealership wanted 140 just to look at it and wouldnt take it for a week. Brought it here instead on 1 days notice. Had an estimate 5 hours later at 375. Had it done the next afternoon at final cost 350. Fixed the issues and 350 seems like a good deal for the work they did. Ill post it from the receipt later. 92 Honda Accord.

I want this morning to do an inspection for my wife car I went to the guy to fix my car to do inspectionthe owner by name j are called me up and told me that I need a front pads I asked him how much is that would be he said $185this price is going to rip off because I dont agree with the guy he got very attitude and it was unprofessional I will not going to recommend this place to nobody because its a rip-off and actually the guy was the owner of the place by JR

It has been a while since I went to this auto repair but their service has stayed in my mind so I wanted to put a review up for them.Was here visiting family and my cars breaks went out. I was only in town for a few days but they were able to get the parts that I needed, which was the master cylinder, in two days for me.Later that year I had the cylinder go out because it was a faulty one from the manufacturer, not only was I able to call them up and have them get me the warranty information. But this shop went above and beyond by talking to the shop back where Im from and worked with them to get the parts, then proceeded to pay for the labor.Top notch service. Keep it up

Was having an issue with my engine light and brought it here to get it checked. They had a look at my car, told me what they thought the issue was and what to look out for, but didnt try to up-sell any repairs, saying that it wasnt urgent. And they didnt charge me anything for having a look at the car.Seemed like a very honest and friendly business.

Took my cars to Homers for 6 years while in Pittsburgh. JR will always be straight up with you about price and time to fix. Sometimes it gets crowded, but after trying a few other places in the neighborhood, I kept coming back anyway. We moved to CA and our A/C blew out in the middle of Ohio and JR was willing to take the call and make suggestions on what to ask mechanics to look at. I hope I can find as reliable a place in my new area.

I came to Homers for a while when I first moved to the city, but switched to another mechanic and inspection station when I moved in down the street from it; I thought I couldnt pass up the convenience. It wasnt long before I came back to Homers: no amount of convenience is worth the loss of this level of service, trust, and economy. Homer. And his people never try to fleece you or sell you something you dont need. Theyre honest, great to work with, and very understanding of lifes little curveballs when it comes to car maintenance. Now no matter where I move, Ill never go anywhere else.

They are honest, fair and do good work. They respect that their customers are on budgets. While their price for an oil change may not beat their competition - you know that they wont be hitting you up for a major brake job, or muffler, or any of the other expensive jobs that get foisted upon you when you go for the discount oil change (unless you really do need to get it done). I know this because I have gone in for an oil change and told them to check for anything else that might need to be done, and they have come back and told me that everything else was just fine. They have done the same to me when I have gone for an inspection - just fixed the few minor things that I really needed. They also do their best to fit my schedule and needs. I cannot say enough complimentary things about this place and the folks that work here.

Honest, helpful, and respectful to customers of all genders/ethnicities. Can’t recommend Homer’s highly enough, really appreciate their service over the years. My brakes once needed work, the Pep Boys Auto on Millvale Ave quoted me for replacing brake pads and rotors, then attempted to pressure me into the purchase because “they had already taken the car apart”. That didn’t sound right since pads wear regularly but a rotor replacement should be more of a rarity. I went to Homers for a second opinion and it turned out just the pads needed replacement! The job was half the price of the other quote. Have been a regular customer ever since. You can trust Homers to do good work at a fair price.

Ive been going to Homers regularly for about 2 years now and its honestly criminal that this is my first review. Theyre great with everything. They almost always fit me in within 48 hours of whenever I call, repairs rarely take more than a day and if they will they call to let you know with plenty of time for you to make arrangements. Ive come here for oil changes, brake and rotor replacements, a broken CV joint, a couple inspections, tires, basically everything and whenever I compare prices they are either the lowest price or within $20 of the lowest quote for any given job. Im by no means a car novice, I just dont have time and space to do certain things. I say that to say that Ive never felt cheated in any way by these guys. Every explination is straight forward and simply explained, they show you what theyre talking about and explain the pricing if you ask. Good guys providing great service for fair prices. I wont take my car anywhere else unless it needs something they cant provide.

The men behind the operations really try to take care of their customers, calling and texting to give updates on vehicle progress, providing estimates well before work is to be finished and payment will be due, and truly being considerate of each individuals personal situation when its time for the final bill to be paid, as well as doing a great job in general at getting the vehicle back on the road safe and sound. It definitely seems like they have been in business for a while for a reason, and that they have returning customers for a reason, and I definitely would not hesitate to go back myself if I ran into another issue with my car and needed to get it serviced. I was very happy walking out of the door with my car keys back in my hand the day I picked it up!
