Deer Valley Diesel is our Go To shop when were in Phoenix for repairs or maintenance on our beloved 45ft 2008 Monaco Signature and our 43ft 2006 Fleetwood Revolution. Rick Cortez and his crew of diesel mechanics are the top of the line when it comes to repairs and maintenance of anything diesel. You will not be disappointed!

Brought my van in to get a wheel bearing replaced and they let me know of other problems. Took me to the garage area and showed me. Im deaf so I do appreciate little things like that! Unlike lots of other shops that take advantage of the deaf, Deer Valley Diesel is straightforward and honest. Exactly what a shop should be! I will definitely be back for business with them!!

Rick is a crook and first charged me almost $1,200 for doing absolutely nothing but wasting my time. His tech never fixed the problem and my bank proved it and got my money back. After my bank found that he did not deserve the funds and had returned my money back to me, RICK CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN! My bank returned the money again and are going after Rick. I had to change my card so that he doesnt charge me again.

Besides normal maintenance, Ive brought a few basket cases over for them to sort through. Rick and Dan have been great communicating through individual issues, and figuring out the most economical way to resolve problems so I can put my trucks back to work. Deer Valley Diesel is my go to place for my work fleet.

Worst business to make business with. We towed a 2002 GMC 3500 to Deer Valley Diesel to be diagnosed, we put a $300 cap on it. They diagnosed it for three hours, called us, and said theyd reached the cap set. They were unable to give us a definitive answer on the diagnostic to why the engine would surge when putting it into reverse or drive. Upon picking it up from them, we took it to another repair shop and they diagnosed it and within one hour and they actually figured out the problem. We contacted D.V.D explained what was happening and suggested a refund. They asked if I could email the shops reciept; We sent it as soon as it became available. Since then we have not heard from anyone at Valley Diesel nor did they email us back. We reported the case to the BBB but they completely ignored us! Unprofessional!! Very disappointing!

To any prospective customers please read this companies reviews and know that I have tried to work with this company on a few repairs. Each repair the cost was higher than quoted and in the most recent event I will never refer anyone to this facility. The owner and manager lied and when confronted acted like they could never be wrong. THE SHOP left the radiator cap off this truck after a repair that was $750 higher than quoted. This is not a professional shop but is a bait and switch. ONCE AGAIN THEY LEFT THE RADIATOR CAP OFF THE TRUCK.

Never again! Rick could care less about our business. Not a thanks for coming in, have a nice day, nothing! Just a jerk the whole time with all this vague nonsense. As you probably know, most diesel shops change all your filters during a PM. Fuel filters, oil filters, lube your truck, grease your fifth wheel, etc and offer you service with a smile. One oil filter changed along with credit card surcharge, and misc fees not disclosed, and labor way too high! Ridiculous price for the work done! Gave them our business twice and that will do it, never to return!

Wouldnt even give them one star but I had to to write a review. The service is terrible, the owner Rick is very unfriendly, the mechanics and Rick are all very dishonest. I paid your Valley diesel approximately $7000 to fix several issues in my truck and during 4 visits. Each time my truck came out a shop it had the same problem accompanied by a 5 to $900 bill. The 3rd time my truck was in the shop for the same issue they diagnose the transmission and charge me $500 just for diagnostic alone. I then paid $5000 for a new transmission to be put in the vehicle at closing time they called me and told me the vehicle was done and running great. Wasnt more than one mile from their shop when the vehicle began to miss fire and the same problem that I took it in therefore was still present. As I turned around to go back to the shop of course they were closed I had to wait another week to bring my vehicle back this time. Prior to the week ending I had a strong vibration each time the transmission shifted and still had a motor that was not running properly. I did not want to bring my vehicle back to Deer Valley diesel due to them not being able to fix it correctly however the transmission was under warranty and they were the ones who put it in. When I drop my vehicle back off with them I was informed that the fan clutch was bad and to U joints were bad. I authorize the repair at approximately $900. I was also informed by Dale the mechanic that there was an oil leak and that a Turbo boot would fix the problem. I authorize that repairs well and on a Friday just at closing time I was told my vehicle was available to be picked up. I pick my vehicle up from Deer Valley diesel and drove to Flagstaff to assist my brother in moving some furniture back to Phoenix on the way home the following day on the freeway my vehicle quit running. I pulled over to the side of the road and as I did the front end of the vehicle burst into flames. My brother and I jumped out of the truck and I noticed a waterfall of oil pouring out of the engine. By this time the fire department arrived the front end of my truck was completely engulfed in flames. On Tuesday morning when the shop opened I return to the shop to speak with Rick the owner about what had happened. Rickon for me the Deer Valley diesel did no work on the oil and a Turbo boot they replaced was in the front of the motor which went to the after coolers. I was not having an issue with Turbo boots or after coolers and I was told that that fix my oil leak. I was brushed off by Rick telling me to report the incident to my own insurance that they were not going to cover anything. I was already unhappy with your Valley diesel the service I received the dishonest mechanics and almost $7000 in repair bills I now have no truck and in currently waiting for insurance to cover it so that I can get a vehicle. My truck was a lifted 2002 Ford F250 diesel with a lot of custom work done on it. I will never return a Deer Valley diesel and I recommend nobody else ever use their service.

I was charged diagnostic twice for the same problem and I was told that my Turbo needs to be replaced. I received a quote which we agreed that I will bring in the vehicle after my vacation. I had to find out that the company did not honor their own quote, but gave me another diagnostic and a higher rate. They claimed that it is also the alternator. The repair suppose to be with the diagnostic about $3000 plus the alternator and whatever else would come with it. I decided to bring it to a different shop. The Turbo was not broken and neither was the alternator. It was a relay and and some small connection parts. I paid a lot less and Im glad that I took my vehicle out of this shop before they took it apart.Be careful!!! They try to screw you. If you are not a pro than they will give you high bills and count on that you are not finding out the truth. The owner Rick is the worst. He charged me for a diagnostic which was never done. Otherwise he could have told me what the real problem is, since it was not the Turbo itself and neither the alternator.

This shop is by far the most incompetent shop i have ever stepped foot in, not only did i have to work around a schedule of one employee in there shop because he was a specialist on my make of vehicle, only to have them tell me that it would not drive out of there parking lot that i drove to 20 miles away. Secondly they were unable to duplicate the problem with my vehicle which does it under load and had informed them of this problem and they assured me that they would have no problem diagnosing it. There solution was to take performance parts off of the vehicle and test it still to come back without any problems which have existed for 4 years under load. then they chose to tell me that they were assuming that it was a part and would gladly fix it for over $3000. Told them i was not comfortable paying them for there services as to they did not diagnose anything with the problem and they told me that in order to take my truck out of there shop it must be paid. By far the worst experience with a shop i have ever had beware

I do not recommend deer valley DIESEL at all. Nickel & dime you all they can. We broke down on the highway with a broken fan belt. It was the only place we could find near us. After waiting over 2 1/2 hours the guy showed up. They never told the mechanic it was an RV and gave him the wrong directions. My husband did most of the work. And they charged us for all the labor. Including the guy driving around lost for & $115 per hour. Outrageous. I plan on reporting them to the better business bureau for bad business practices. Taking advantage of people. They just dont care. Read all the other bad reviews.

Not only was I bold faced lied to by these guys but after the fact I did some reserch and now understand why they have an F Rating with the BBB!I was told that fixing my brakes was a 2 hour max job, then 2 days after I was told it would be done I never even got a call! I had to call them to ask when it would be done! They held my truck ransom demanding twice what we agreed to!!THEY ARE A LOW DOWN CROOKED SHOP!!DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE!!!

Sigh, I didnt read these reviews until after taking my diesel to these people. They lied continually, the owner Rick Cortez is exactly like many of the reviews have said, hes unprofessional.I told him that I had a turbo leak, either on the intake, side, or exhaust. I gave him a set of intake side o-rings, as well as mentioned/asked that they check exhaust side as well.My truck ran/runs worse after taking it to them, than before. I asked them to simply check for turbo leaks, and instead they took off the wastegate actuator. They said that was the problem, and I needed a new one......I checked it, and it worked fine. I called Rick, and after he personally inspected it, and it worked, he changed the original story from it not working, to it wouldnt hold the wastegate shut, and thats the reason they took it off. He said they charged me for a starting point of trouble shooting They wired the wastegate shut........Then adjusted the timing; which has resulted immediately in a noticeable tapping sound.Their wiring job on the wastegate gave me zero boost, and I reinstalled the faulty wastegate, and all worked fine!!!!I also took a bottle of soapy water to the exhaust side, and found 3 leaks immediatley, and fixed them in short order. Why something so simple wasnt their first starting point?????!!!!This shop is terrible, and if you really want your truck to run well, then either fix it yourself, or SERIOUSLY investigate who can actually get the work done RIGHT!
