My memories from training at the dojo and all of the people there are all good memories and it is a shame that it has been shut down. i consider most of the people that I trained with as my second family

Ive been involved with traditional martial arts for my entire life. Unfortunately, after meeting and training with Sumptner Sensei in August 2018, I was called out of state within 24 hours and unable to return. I say this: If given the opportunity, I would wear a white belt again, stand at the back of the line, and do whatever he says in an instant. I have seen ONE other dojo like this in my entire life. You are fool not to train there

I been taking the womens self defense class here, this place is amazing. Very good training and I have learned so many different techniques, skills and overall conditioning. This place has a family atmosphere and there are people in the classes of all different levels. it truly is a judgment free zone.

Sadly it appears our beloved karate dojo could not survive the zero income from the imposed quarantine. The location has been completely cleaned out and the outdoor sign removed. It looks like Uechi Ryu wil no longer be at the Germantown Ave location. My only hope is Sensei Sumpter or one of his stellar pupils continues the Uechi Ryu tradition at another location. My young son attended for the past 3 years and he loved it. The dojo was a second family to him. He will be heartbroken. Im sad to see it go this way. We love you Sumpter family!

Ive been studying here for 15 years and now my son has started taking classes. Cant give much more praise than that.
