My child Fatima story she enter Karate because her two older siblings were doing karate at the time and she felt interested in what her siblings are doing. So she started at the age of three and has been practicing for six years. When she started she could not focus and did not listen to the instructions, and over time she developed discipline, paying attention, responsibility, great attitude, helpfulness acts, and leadership. She has been improving herself every day from taking the class of karate.

Written By Joey M. 11 years old:I started karate when I was 4 years old. I came home and wanted to do karate because my friend from preschool was in karate. My mom and dad signed me up. I remember being quiet and shy at first when on the mat. Over time I gained more confidence from the instructors and other kids in my class. Karate has become more than just an activity it has become a very important part of my life. Karate has taught me that team work, dedication, and perseverance are important not just to karate, but in all aspects of my life. There were times when things were hard, school was busy, and I felt that I didn’t want to do karate. But then my parents reminded me how far I have come and that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I was so proud of myself when I earned my Junior Black Belt, I worked very hard and achieved a goal that I set for myself. Being able to test for my Sr. Black Belt is an honor that I am so happy to have. I know I am very lucky to have this opportunity and I know that without the help of my instructors and my family this wouldn’t be possible.

Not only has Action Karate made an impact on my sons life, it has made an impact on our family as well. While studying martial arts my son has gained confidence and is developing leadership skills to use in school. Action has pushed my son to try new as well as set and achieve personal goals, which is something that most adults struggle with. Action Karate truly is a foundation for not only building skills in martial arts, but in life as well.

Since before she was born, we wanted our daughter to be able to defend herself. When she turned 4, we enrolled her at Action Karate Parkwood and she has learned so much more than just self-defense. She has learned the importance of discipline and never giving up. They have programs to teach her about anti-bullying and building self-confidence. Her instructors are very supportive and interested in how she handles herself outside karate. She is now 9 going for her junior black belt. What she has learned as a martial artist and as a person is invaluable and will help her achieve her goals as she continues to grow.

My experience at Action Karate has been a great one. I started when I was only 9 years old for various reasons. One of these reasons, and perhaps the most important one, was bullying. I was never treated very well by my classmates in school and I didnt have the necessary courage and self-confidence to stand up for myself. After I started training at Action, I was taught self-confidence, courage, and many other valuable qualities that a person should have. After I started training, I became a more confident person, and my teacher and others around me all noticed it. I have never had a problem with those kids ever again, because Action gave me the courage to stand up for myself. I have been training here for 5 years now and I am on my way to earning my Black Belt. It is difficult, but Action Karate instills in you the perseverance to continue with your training and to never give up. It has been a long, hard road, full of determination and grit, but I have really enjoyed my time here and I am proud to say that I did it.

I have been doing karate for 4 or 5 years. At first when I never did karate, I struggled with my focus and self discipline because I am high functioning Autistic. When I joined karate in 2007, I felt like karate was my life because it really helped me with my focus and self discipline. In karate, I enjoyed making new friends and performing new exercises that improved my athletics. I am so impressed about what karate did to change my life forever. Without karate, I would be nothing.

After competing in tournaments and getting trophies, my confidence increased and I became more focused. One of the greatest days of my life was when I received my Junior Black Belt. Now I am on my way to getting my Adult Black Belt in November. Its a lot of studying and hard work but I know I can do it thanks to all the great instructors at Action Karate in Franklin Mills. My name is Jase McNulty. I am a 9yr old Action Karate Parkwood student. In June, I will be testing for my junior black belt. I am very proud that I have gotten this far!It all started when I was 2yrs old. Action Karate was right down the street from my house. My parents took me and my brother and signed us up. The first time I did it, I was really scared. I didn’t want to go anymore so I stopped. My brother loved it and was going twice a week. After going to his classes with my parents to watch my brother, I worked up the courage to start going to classes again. This time, instead of the camouflage belt, they gave me a white belt! I really liked going and I got a little better each class. But as I got better, the classes got harder. There were times when I didn’t want to go because it got more difficult. But I kept going to classes and facing all of the hard challenges. I understand that if the instructors didn’t challenge me, there was no way I would get better or stronger. My instructors were always nice to me and my classmates. Also, when I didn’t want to go to class, and I was nervous or crying, they would always make me feel better. They helped me feel more confident and made me understand that I could do it!A little hard work, help from my parents, my instructors, and my big brother (who is already a black belt) has led me to this point. I am only a month away from one of the biggest challenges of my life. I have a chance to get a BLACK BELT! I’m nervous, but I know I can do it!

I started karate when I was just 4 years old. And now I am 12 years old. When I first started, I was really scared in my first few classes. After the first 2 months, I really enjoyed going to karate. I started to go to tournaments. This has improved my confidence and self-esteem. I was pretty sad that I always got 3rd place every time I competed. So, I started to work harder and I got to 2nd place. This is one of my triumphs because I earned second place. I still am doing karate and getting higher ranks. I am still continuing and enjoying karate. I am a Junior Black Belt going for my senior. This is my Action Karate experience.

Black belt notesI really enjoy having fun with my classes and all the friends I made. I want to pass the black belt challenge because I want to be the next karate kid. Also, I really enjoy doing karate so much. I want to pass it because I want to show how incredible I am in karate but also make my family happy. This is my amazing martial arts story, the story might be long but it will cover everything about my martial art experience. One day I went to a fair and there was a wheel that months and weeks on it, it was for Action Karate! I ask my mom to spin the wheel and I did and got a month of karate. So I attended karate for a month and I enjoyed it. When the month was almost over my mom and dad asked me if I wanted to continue because I really enjoyed it. Later on my mom and dad thought about signing me up even longer. My mom and dad also signed me up for private lesson. Then, I doubled belted and went from a white belt to orange, then blue, then brown, then black over brown and know I’m at red over black. I can’t wait for the black belt challenge!!I’m so excited writing this story about my martial arts performances. If I pass the black belt challenge I will be a junior black belt. I hope I do pass because I really want to make everyone think I can do something. I hope everyone will cheer me on because I will try my best on everything that I will preform in the challenge. Thank you for everything you have done to get me here at the black belt challenge. I will tell every person I know my story of martial arts. I am hoping everyone will enjoy my story no matter what they think of me because I’m the person I want to be. If I am tired I will never give up on anything I do in my life. One lesson I’ve learned from my one sister that plays soccer is if you give don’t give up you have a chance of achieving but, if you give up you are letting down something you love.

My struggle in Karate started when I was just 10, when I first started out, I was not very good but I kept trying my best and eventually I became better and better. I then moved up to my purple belt which made the entire karate much harder like it was supposed to so I am very thankful that I was able to go to a karate studio that really tested my limits and made me break my limits. Then, I had my second limit break when I became a brown belt and I had to work a lot harder to become even better.

Do not join here. They make you sign an eight month contract right off the bat which they forget to tell you when you join. Then they talk your child into a black belt leadership course and they dont tell you that to be in that class you have to sign another three year contract. They wait until your child really wants to do the class to mention that. When I called to cancel after seven months Miss Felicia tells me that I am in a contract and then my payments which were taken right out of my account through action karate start coming out by a company of a different name. I call that company and they say that Miss Felicia must have been taking them out off the books and had now turned it over to them. She is very sneaky and I would never trust this place or recommend them to anybody!!!!!!!!

Review by Luke Weber:When I first joined karate I was 7 years old. I joined because it looked fun, and it is. For example we play dodge ball to work on our reaction. What I did not think about was how hard it was going to be. When I got to my blue belt test I realized that my belt was not going to just be given to me, I had to earn it. I learned this when promotion night turned into testing when I got to 2nd phase. Now I am testing for my junior black belt. I’ve been doing karate for four years, but it does not feel that long. I hope to pass my black belt test and lead others to be a black belt.

I have been doing karate for the past 5 1/2 years and have faced many challenges along the way. During my last year at Action, I lost the desire to do it anymore and my parents were getting upset because it was like pulling teeth with me to go. I was bored with it and I really enjoyed the times that I did not go, and then something clicked. I began enjoying it again and it became fun for me and now I get to test in just a couple weeks. Karate has taught me so much in past years and I feel blessed to have worked with some of the instructor that have crossed my path. I have made so many friends at Action, and I love just being able to do it with them. Finally, I do not know where my path with lead me, but I sure know that all of the lessons I learned at Action Karate Feasterville, like self-control,self-discipline, etc, will help me do whatever to my fullest potential.

Our daughter started her karate journey at Action Parkwood in 2014 when she was 6 years old!!! Little did any of us know that not only would she be learning self defense and growing physically stronger but she has also learned so many important life lessons and become stronger mentally too. She has been taught the value of not just respect for others but self respect and self discipline as well. She has learned that to do well in karate she has to be well rounded and do well in school too. This journey towards her junior black belt has not always been easy and there were times when she wanted to give up but Mr Williams and all of the other instructors encouged her to persevere and push through the challenges and without them she would not be where she is today!! MY SENIOR BLACK BELT JOURNEYZachary CregoI started classes at Action Karate when I was three. Over the past eight years Ive learned many kicks & katas, as well as techniques for self-defense. I have also worked with many weapons like Nunchucks, Sword, Kamas and Tonfa. Karate has taught me focus & confidence in all I do.I really enjoy going to karate. I have made many friends and the instructors are just like family. They taught me to work hard and do my best every day. The exercises I learned at karate have made my body stronger. The focus I have learned at karate has strengthened my mind. I have learned confidence at karate and it has helped me with my other sports. I am much more confident at soccer. I am now center defense for my new team. I have to be a leader and tell them what to do on the field. My team relies on me.Two years ago I earned my junior black belt. Training for that was one of the hardest things I have done in my life. But I accomplished my goal and then I set a new goal, to earn my senior black belt. I am excited to earn my senior black belt in a few weeks. My black belt training has been difficult at times, but I’ve worked hard so I know Ill do great.

My name is Daniel Swider. I have been doing karate for 3 yrs. I love doing karate at Franklin Mills. Well, when I had to memorize a saying for my white belt it was harder than it looks. I loved it there at karate. It was so fun. Soon later I got my yellow belt. It got a little harder when I got it, but it was still fun. I was in the same class that I was in before. When I got my orange belt I was still in the same class. It got even harder and more fun. At that time I had to take it more serious. We were doing different kicks at this belt. When I got my purple belt I went into a different class. I was now in black belt leadership. That was when I had to try a lot harder to get my black belt. We were working on spin kicks at this belt level. For my blue belt we had to do like the same thing that we did with our purple belt, so there wasn`t really a big difference. Green belt it got a whole lot harder! We were working on spin jump kicks and hooks, ridges, and palms. Brown belt we were starting sparring. We needed to wear gear to protect yourself. We also started learning different weapons at this level, like the sword, bow staff, comas and arnis sticks. Brown belt was a lot of fun but I knew that things were getting harder and more serious. We had to practice for our black belt testing soon. Red belt this is the belt that you have to take very seriously. We started practicing for our black belt testing. It was really hard getting up to this belt level but it has always been very fun and exciting. My teachers always make class fun while we are exercising and learning, especially Mr. Williams. I have made lots of friends and have really enjoyed my karate experience at Action Karate and I am looking forward to testing for my Junior Black Belt.

I have been training at Action Karate Parkwood for the past five years now. After two years of going to watch my brother Zachary I decided to give it a try.I have experienced a lot from my training at Action Karate Parkwood. I was shy and timid when I first started training but now I am confident and in the black belt leadership program. Also, I didn’t know how to do any of the techniques and now I know how to do all of them. Lastly, my training at Action Karate Parkwood has given me the courage and confidence to become a team captain for soccer. I push the girls to do the best they can during games and practices. The most valuable things I have learned are as long as you try your best you will always succeed and that you should never give up just because you think you can’t accomplish your goal. Two years ago I was training for my junior black belt. My junior black belt pretest and test were some of the hardest things I had ever done in my life. I have successfully accomplished my goal in becoming a junior black belt and that has brought on some new responsibilities and challenges. For example I am now able to participate in the adult class.I am excited, anxious, and nervous about my upcoming tests I will have my pre-test on November 19. If I succeed then I will go on to testing on December 3. I am confident I will succeed as long as I do my best.
