My husband and I went to have his mothers diamond from her engagement ring place in my engagement ring setting . Everything went so well.. it was going to take about 6 weeks for remake to happen.. However, my husband passed away in the meantime...I was devastated!!... his mother was coming up from Florida for the funeral, I so wanted to have my ring for the funeral... it’s been a part of me for nearly 30 years... well the ring was still a few weeks from being ready... My fianceé and I were shopping for wedding rings on Jewelers Row after having visited numerous stores from the suburbs to the city. We eventually found Barsky Diamonds and decided to check it out. We worked with John who was amazing; personable, calm, well informed and transparent. Everyone was extremely helpful and they offered what is in my opinion the widest variety of rings to choose from. We chose two rings and had them slightly modified. The finished product was absolutely perfect and EXACTLY what we were hoping for. If youre shopping for jewelry I strongly suggest ATLEAST putting them on your list of stores to check out.

I visited Barsky 2 years ago looking for an engagement ring and the Sales Associate (Rick Wool) I met was excellent. He was extremely helpful and patient, and worked with me for weeks to find the perfect ring. Nathan Barsky personally delivered, to my house, a birthday present for my wife on a Saturday so she would have it the next day for her birthday. At his busiest time of the year! I didnt ask, he just did it. You can play the Jewelers Row game if you like and maybe, maybe, save a couple of bucks. But the folks at Barskys are real human beings who genuinely care about their clients. Dont bother going anywhere else.

At first, had a very difficult time with the experience. As things were starting to unravel, Nathan Barsky personally stepped in and all of a sudden, it was a complete 180. I went here to inquire about a ring resizing, and the staff was completely honest with me. I have a delicate setting, so they told me all of the options, but really suggested going back to my original jeweler. They then gave me a temporary plastic resizer so my new ring wouldnt fall off! The two women that helped me out were so nice! Great customer service in the shop!

Nate has always done a good job taking care of me and the staff is good.My wife loves her Sapphire Ring, bracelet and earrings. We designed the ring with Nate and then returned about 10 months later for a matching bracelet and earrings.You can always shop on price and find someone willing to be lower, but I know I am getting a very good price, service and selection when I shop at Barskys. In the end, that is what jewelry shopping is about...the overall experience.Just as a side note, they always clean and polish our jewelry... Including our white gold which always looks new when we leave.

Im more sentimental than showy about my jewelry, but Barsky allowed me to be both. They transformed a ring that my grandmother gave me as a teenager (gold band with gems making a flower) and turned it into my engagement ring. They took the original stones and turned it into a necklace charm free of charge. Both pieces are beautiful and according to my sister and fiance they were great about everything. The went to another big name jeweler first and that jeweler stated it would be like open heart surgery to change the stones on my ring. Barsky said no problem and Im so glad they did.

My family has been going to the Barsky family dating all the way back to the store on Germantown Ave. I can always remember as a kid going into the current store on jewelers row and talking with Mr. Barsky; he was always so nice and had great stories. My parents have now brought their grandson (my son) into the store which now marks 5 or 6 generations of our family shopping at Barskys. Fifteen years ago, my husband was on Jewelers Row to buy my engagement ring. He went into several stores, but no sales staff ever approached him. A Barsky staffer saw this and approached my husband, selling him the most beautiful ring Ive ever seen. Our consumer club suggests that you call yourself a jewelry dealer and buy for five times less at wholesale. Get a sales tax permit from the state and even have business cards printed. Do your homework online to learn about the business first. Its worth it to spend an hour to save $7,000 or more!

Horrible horrible horrible experience. I know for a fact they pay someone to put up good reviews. My diamond fell out three times in the past 6 months. Brand new ring. barely wore it and they told me it was my fault. After time 3, they said they wouldnt fix it. I took the ring to another jeweler in new york who said I way overpaid and the appraisal was wrong. I went in to complain 2 weeks ago and got the now infamous barsky runaround.

I purchased my wifes engagement ring at Barskys. The people I worked with were nice and they helped educate me and provided plenty of options and their prices were fair compared to other big name jewelry companies. My father bought my mothers engagement ring at Barskys as did my brother. I would highly recommend them.

I cant say enough good things about this place. I shopped around for engagement rings, and there are quite a few businesses on jewelers row that employ some shady practices. This is the proverbial diamond in the rough. The best thing about this place is that they honor ALL budgets (and I would know - I wasnt exactly throwing coin around when I first went there). I even asked if I would get more for the stone that I was looking at if I spent a bit more, but the gemologist who took me through their process said flat out I wouldnt get much more. There arent too many businesses that deal with customers on a level basis, and ones that do should be patronized. This is one of those places.

Everything worked out as planned when I placed the order. Quality was better, and the price was better than any local shop around.

I purchased an engagement ring from here a long time ago. My fiance hardly wore it because she was pregnant and the size wasnt right. We wanted to wait until she had our child to be sized. So its hardly been worn in years. They were nice enough to resize it for free. Then not long later a point fell out of the engagement ring. They said the ring look damaged. But it was hardly even worn. Time had past. But they offered to fix it after a little going back and forth with them. They said they wouldnt fix it again. Now maybe 4 years later another different point has fallen out. I dont understand because points shouldnt be falling out like this. I dont think the integrity of the ring is very good. Maybe it was compromised during the resizing. My poor fiance! Now i dont want to go back because they werent very nice about it in the first place.

Im a little confused by some of these reviews. My husband purchased my engagement ring from Barskys 20 years ago. (Ray F was our salesman) in October of 2014 I decided to redesign my rings. Wanted to set my Marquise diamond w/side trillion east to west from its traditional north south setting. Chris did the design. My ring is crazy gorgeous (it was beautiful to start with) it looks like a museum piece. My wedding band (also a Barskys piece) was also re-designed. I have never had a moments trouble with anything purchased from Barskys. Everyone is wonderful & sweet & honest. I love when I have my rings cleaned at jewelers & watch them fall all over how amazing these pieces are.I have two regrets. 1. We live in VA so they are a bit of a drive, but worth it & 2. Ive never been able to talk Mrs. Barsky into letting me have her diamond band that is simply magnificent. Pear shaped diamonds back to front all the way around & of considerable size!! Actually I guess I dont blame her. I dont understand how anyone could go to Barskys on Sansom and not be completely satisfied.

This place is bunch of crooks. Played games n tried to sell me a ring and On topbstart off tgere so rude and old school it made me cringe. Ended up getting 3.5 ct vs there 1ct with 3carats around for 8ct total weight same price of what they wanted for 4 total cts. The owner is joke too ! Do not go

I bought an engagement ring after my buddy recommended Barsky (since he bought his there).Im very happy with the ring, the price, and the overall experience. Nate (Barsky - the owner) was awesome and patiently put up with my ocd. Without getting into all the details - Im an engineer, so I tortured him beyond the 4 Cs, asking for very specific crown/pavilion angles, table size, etc etc. He had to scour his suppliers until he found a stone that matched exactly what I wanted, and he purchased it without committing me to buy it before seeing it. He was very accommodating and also flexible with the price. I never take the time to write reviews - but here I really felt compelled.Additional learnings:- Unless youre rich, stick with color I; it still looks white and saves you $1-$2K, vs H/G. Put that money towards bigger size and GIA excellent cut - thats the real wow factor- Dont bother with big stores at the mall (their markup was ~30% or higher)- Check online sellers to get an idea for the bottom price range. Buying online though isnt a slam-dunk. Some things you dont notice in pics / 360 view - until you look at the stone in person; e.g. whether it looks milky bc of clouds; or if it has a brownish tint (no idea why GIA doesnt note that in certificates). To me, being able to see and buy in-person was worth the small premium
