Hi guys, I am starting reselling business in Europe that focuses on Motorbike parts from USA, and as you can imagine, tons of important things to do. And shipping is one of those things that are basically something extra i have to deal with and I have no extra time for. I have found AMID by pure luck on google, and tested them. Honestly I was bit scared as shipping with boat for the first time in my life sounds super complicated. However i took the simple approach on their website,. I went step by step. Ordering shipping was easy, then i have had few questions and they did reply very fast.. they dont use many words :) however they are on point. Paying with paypal up to 750$ was a great thing as it gave me some extra confidence with them. Now I am doing my 4th order with them. All good, super easy, and they are all over America - or they partners, so I can buy from different manufacturers around US. I am no bot, I am real guy and you can check me as MartinTheVlogger on Youtube and or as website. I ship quite a lot of things :)

Unpleasant experience. I shipped some stuff internationally. Received inaccurate quotation, with hidden fees. The manager was not professional at all, was yelling on the phone when I tried to discuss the hidden fees with him. Do not recommend this company at all. This is not a scam, this is my actual experience. The good thing about online review is that you can share your honest experience anytime with others. Yelling at customers and hang up phone on them really not the best way to gain trust and maintain customers.

My Experience: Very ease of accessing website, step by step process cleared many of my doubts as i am first time using the AMID Logistics.Excellent customer care support when ever i drop email i get prompt and easy response. Booking process is simple and easy any layman can understand.

We have worked with AMID for more than three years and dozens of shipments. Three things stick out to me with AMID. 1 - their quote and booking process is very simple and accurate. With more than 30 shipments, we have never had a shipments price differ from what was quoted. 2 - There systems are automated so it walks you through the process of shipping and documentation very smoothly. If you actually read the documents, they are easy to follow and the process goes very smoothly. 3 - Although the majority of shipments go off perfectly. However, not everything in shipping goes as planned. You learn the strength of a shipper when something goes wrong (for example when a customer provides you with the incorrect name for a Bill of Lading or a container misses a connection with a ship, etc...). In my experience with AMID, the few instances where these things happen are resolved quickly with minimal pain. International shipping is not a simple process. AMID has been a great resource for that has helped our business open new markets by providing efficient, economical transportation for our products.

Amid Logistics do the best to make international shipments as straightforward as possible. However, either you ship you goods with a freight forwarder or simply carry your goods in the trunk of your car across the border, your freight will always be a subject to destination charges. Destination charges depend on destination country’s import regulations. These regulations may be quite complicated.In order to avoid surprises with your international shipment you should check these regulations. Be prepared. Contact your destination country’s customs broker or/and with a local Consulate or Embassy of the country where your goods will be shipped to in advance.

Beware of hidden destination charges! Theres no way to predict them and AMID will take no responsibility for them, even if such charges are in error.I needed to ship 80 lbs of personal effects from Boston, USA to Vienna, Austria. I was looking for an economical (but not necessarily fast) option. With USPS no longer offering ground shipping, companies that ship by ocean are hard to find these days for a small, one-time shipment such as this. When AMID quoted me $275, I thought it was a good deal.The initial communication was excellent, they provided clear instructions on how to deliver the packages to the terminal in Boston, and good updates on the shipments progress.A month later, when I went to pick up the packages in Vienna, a nasty surprise awaited. I was told that for various destination charges, I owed an extra 499.88 euros in cash! One item on that invoice was 263.82 euros for transport from Hamburg (the destination ocean terminal) to Vienna, although AMIDs bill of lading stated that freight was prepaid all the way to Vienna. At first AMID agreed that this was a double charge, but then they changed their tune and wont be any help in getting this back.Bottom line, I ended up paying 3 times what was quoted, and wouldve been better off using FedEx, DHL or whatever air shipping service which would have taken a fraction of the time. The value of my personal goods never justified this cost.BTW Im not very experienced at this, but not a total novice. In 1998 I used a similar service (unfortunately now defunct) to ship personal effects from the US to France, and did not encounter any surprise charges on arrival. So this is definitely a problem with how AMID handles this, and essentially washes itself of any responsibility for what happens upon arrival.

Have done business few times with them, the receiving side charges are usually very high. Note this is not customs and duty owed to the Government but shipping line fees which you must pay to their receiving agent. I still use them but the costs on receiving end are prohibitive I only use them when I absolutely need to. Otherwise I would be a very regular shipper if this was affordable at receiving in Kenya.

Be aware that AMID only quotes for the US side of the transaction. There will be fees at the destination. They can and will be substantial, and AMID does not include these fees in their quotations.When asked about the destination fees, their customer service responded with a rude Why are you asking us this question? tone.Totally completely unacceptable.
