This place destroyed my life. RUN.

A lady Dentist there was very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable I had to find another dentist

To be honest this place started off nice but the work they do is really half-_ss. They placed a crown on my front tooth which fell off in just 3 months. Everything was just rushed and done very sloppy. I found out from another dentist that they use the cheapest low quality materials on your teeth. One thing Ive learned, NEVER GO TO A DENTIST IN THE HOOD. They just dont truly care about you.

I would like to start this off by saying that this is going to be a long review, that it glosses over many visits Ive had here, and that it is very positive. I almost never write reviews, but I will say that if youre looking to skim, the summary is: I would recommend this dentist to the absolute fullest to anyone I know who has any kind of serious dental problems or any dentist fears/hang-ups. If youre looking for more of an in-depth description of the process and people there, though, please read on.Ive had terrible teeth throughout most of my life, and never had the money or guts to really figure out a game plan for fixing them. On top of that, sometime around 30 I developed a sort of physical anxiety that left me restless whenever I was in situations that took away my ability to control my personal space. Thus, dental work has been, on top of having a pretty bad set of broken, yellowed and rotten teeth, really difficult for me to approach. I wish I could change the anxious part about myself, but its something that is just there, at least for the moment.To sum up my experiences with other dentists before I found Dr. Marcus office, it was mainly people looking at my teeth, seeing my insurance, and treating me as if I werent even a serious client. Clearly if I had allowed my teeth to get this bad, it wasnt even worth their time to create a serious plan for me. Add to that fact that I was asking for some sort of sedation/pain amelioration (because of the anxiety) and the dentists I saw became even more dismissive. This was super-disheartening and led to me prolonging treatment even longer.From the first minute of my first visit, the people at Dr. Marcus office were insanely positive, therapeutic, gentle and effective. They also offer twilight sedation for the weak of heart, like myself, which is what made it all possible. I waited until my final crowns were put on to write this review, but I could have written it after my first interaction with the team. Every single person in that office was concerned for my dental health, while being funny and generally cool the entire time and making sure that my teeth would be as beautiful as they could be by the end of the process.I cant believe how well everything turned out. My smile is amazing (even though theres a bit more work to do) and they are so incredibly responsive and flexible to any questions I have or tweaks that need to be made to the treatment plan. Even though there are probably 50 dentists closer to where I live, I will never go anywhere else because of the amazing experience Ive had there, an experience that is built completely upon the amazing, compassionate people who work there, especially Dr. Marcus herself.If you have difficulty with dental work, have teeth that youre embarrassed about, or dont know if you can afford to have your problems fixed but you want to speak with someone compassionate, I would wholly recommend you go to Dr. Marcus.

This is the absolute best place to go to for dental care and work. My father and I have now been attending for a number of years, rarely if ever leaving disappointed in the service or the treatment. Prices seem affordable, communication is timely and effective, and you get the care that one deserves when one of your teeth decides to rebel against you. Must visit place, and you cant say that about a lot of healthcare facilities.

Everyone was so accommodating to me when I had to come back to get my crown reshaped. Made me feel welcome to speak my thoughts if I wanted something changed and such a warm and friendly environment that gives great service. Would highly recommend !!

Everyone there is knowledgeable, professional, and very nice.I still go to Dr Marcus even though I’ve moved from the neighborhood because I value the friendly and courteous staff. No one likes going to the dentist, but they make the whole experience much easier and more comfortable.

I have been a patient at Marcus Dental for years.Dr Joni Marcus is always willing to listen, help & guide you through any dental concern.I am a big chicken whn it comes to dental procedures, Dr R. Chew is great with his calm & reassuring manner for me. And Angie is the best dental tech EVER! And not to forget the wonderful office admin team . I do not usually do reviews but felt I had to do this one.

Love it. I am a patient of Dr Marcus since 2006. All the employees are really friendly. I love it there because they dont treat you as a patient-- they take care of you as a friend. Love it. I just hope they would remodel their office a little bit. For example- the waiting room chairs and the patient restroom. Wishing them the best.

The staff is very knowledgeable about what they are doing. Its a very friendly atmosphere my daughter and son went there a few times so when it was my time to go to the dentist Dr. Marcus was the first place I thought about going to. And Im happy that I chose Total Dental Care.

It is always a pleasant experience when I receive dental services from DRS. Harold & Dr. Joni Marcus and Associates. Everybody is so nice and extremely professional. They use updated and use the latest high tech. equipment, (always up to date with the most modern technology.) The staff are very courteous and generally concern about insuring we, the patients are comfortable. I have been a patient with them since before I retired, 6 years ago and am extremely happy with all of the dental work that I have had done there. I truly recommend their service highly. You dont feel the pain. YES, they numb you mouth real good and once they go in your mouth to do whatever, you will leave their office knowing that you have just experience, a little but if Heaven, on earth. Smiling all the way. If you are looking for a Dentist that you wont dread going to, when needed, dont look any further. I can guarantee you definitely will be as happy with their flawless services.

I have been afraid to go to the dentist over the years because of the pain they cause me when I receive treatment from them. Sometimes I leave their office feeling worse instead of better. To me it seemed like they didnt care about the way they treated me. After have a toothache for weeks I decided to find a new dentist. I figured over the years new treatment technology would provide me with a better experience. But when I my treatment at with Dr. Marcus I was overwhelmed with the care that he and his staff provide. While treating my tooth they wanted me to feel nothing. No pain at ALL is what they wish me to feel. They went above and beyond my expectations to ensure that I was comfortable and in no pain while they worked on my tooth. I will never go to any other dentist as long as I live. Thanks again for the amazing care and treatment Dr. Marcus.

I had to have an extraction done. It went more smoothly than I anticipated. Even the needle for the anesthesia went well, because Dr. Joni Marcus put a gel on so the injection wouldnt hurt. Angie was a great assistant, and Dr. Harold Marcus came in and did the extraction. I was done in less than an hour.

EXTREMELY!!!! EXTREMELY!!! EXTREMELY!! UNPROFESSIONAL THEY HAVE THE MOST NASTIEST RECEPTIONIST I EVER SEEN. THE OLD BAG WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL WITH LETTING ME KNOW WHAT MY PLAN COVERED INSTEAD SHE INSULTED ME BY SAYING OH YOUR INSURANCE IS NOT THAT GOOD. THEN THE OLD HAG ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I SAID WHY SO YOU CAN GET SOME MORE PRACTICE BEING NASTY TO ME. I CANT BELIEVE I ACTUALLY SAT THERE FOR 15 MIN WAITING FOR HER TO HELP ME. THEY NEED TO GET AN UPDATED OFFICE IT STILL LOOKS LIKE THEYRE STUCK IN THE 70S

I arrived on time for my visit, was called promptly. The staff at Total Dental Care were extremely friendly and professional. Each step of my visit was explained before done. I will be returning for my regular dental care. I would definitely recommend.

My only complaint is that I could never move away now that I found these great dentists! Warm, family atmosphere. The doctors know what theyre doing, and will go the extra mile to help you. When I first went to Dr. Marcus Dentist, I immediately notice the sign on the door stating WE CATER TO COWARDS . I was very impressed with the statement and even more impressed when it turned out to be true. They were very kind and patient with my fear of what it is they do. I am loving my teeth and I will definitely keep all my appointments. I was so satisfied, that I am now taking my 5 year old granddaughter to Dr Marcus office. She wad first seen at 52nd Jefferson a new Dentist, however, I have been waiting for someone to call me back with an appointment and have not heard anything yet so I called Dr Marcus office on 7/14/17 and received an appointment for 9/1/17.

They are a great practice and are also open on Saturday for working people that cant get out during the week. I would recommend Dr. Marcus and her great staff for anyone needing dental care. They are like a big family.

This is a small private practice. Ive been a patient since I was 19 years old. I am 58 now. They are flexible. They accomadate emergencies with a same day appoinytment, most of the time. The staff are very friendly and will try to help you resolve all dental issues. I am a Dental Coward. I hate pain, needles and the sound of the drill, sends me. I feel that I can talk through my issues with the doctor and staff. They dont tell you to just get over it and act like and adult. This is my lifetime Dentist Office. I send members of my family to their office.Keep up the TGood work Dr. Joni and Staff!!!

Myself and my children have been with this office for little over 3 years and never had a problem until today. Due to my work schedule my mom took my daughter in a Lyft and I informed the lady that called that she was running late due to traffic and would get there at 4:50pm. To make a long story short when I explained how far we lived and asked is it possible to switch to another orthro close to home she became very unprofessional and rude and told me no I signed a contract. I held my professionalism due to being at work. I called my Insurance and explained the problem and how unprofessional the lady was on the phone and to my mother when she got there at 450pm and refused to treat my daughter after saying they close at 5pm and if she made it at 450pm they would see her. I highly recommend not getting braces done here for your children they dont work around school schedules. Thankful I was able to find another orthro close to home and stays open late. Update: PLEASE EVERYONE CHECK THE BILL THEY ARE SUBMITTING TO YOUR INSURANCE. THANK GOD SOMEONE WHO SAW THIS POST INFORMED ME I DEFINITELY WILL BE SPEAKING TO A LAWYER.

Doctor Joni Marcus always shows kindness and sincere care about My dental Health. The dental Hygienist was very thorough with The cleaning of my teeth she took her time and was Very professional. I believe Her name Was Shareen.

What I liked most is that they took the time to explain everything to me better than any other dentist. I don like dentists but they made me feel comfortable. I have already and I will refer anyone I know who needs a dentist to them.

Going to the dentist isn’t my favorite activity by any means but my experience at Total Dental Care was very different than past visits to “the chair” and “the drill”. I had very little apprehension and even less pain during and afterwards. Like my barber and my mechanic it takes time to find the right pros for your team. I’m happy to say I now include Dr. Marcus onto my happy band of personal professionals.

I travel almost 70 miles each way to come to the dentist. I do so because Dr. Joni, Dr. Chew, Toni, Ava & the rest of the staff really treat me in a very courteous and professional manner. The service here is great and I wouldnt change my dentist for any reason.

I was ashamed to open my mouth; missing your top 2 fronts is a problem. BUT this is the BEST dental office. Dont expect to feel any pain. The doctors are terrific; the staff is professional and you can tell they actually care. #1 dentist is Philadelphia. They gave me my smile back. I wish I could add a picture

I been a patient with them for years. Havent been going like i suppose too but everytime i go my experience has been great. i never feel pain when i leave and i love to be numb and they make sure i am comfortable.

It had been at least ten year since I had been to the dentist, because of my fear of dentist and a couple of bad experiences. My significant other suggested I see his dentist, Dr. Joni Marcus.Dr. Marcus and her entire team took the time to first talk to me to find out why I was afraid of the dentist before ever looking in my mouth. Then they gave me options to make me feel comfortable. There is one technicianIn particular that held my hand during my extraction even though there was no pain, simply because she knew I was nervous.I highly recommend Dr Marcus and her team.

Ive been going to the Marcus practice for at least 10 years. In that time I have moved to the other side of the city and tried dentists that were located closer to my home or job. I alway end up back at the Marcus practice. Both the dentists and the staff are professional and caring. They never recommended unnecessary treatments. Ive always been happy with their work.

Chill vibes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dexterous, thorough and quick hygenists. Scheduling was on time, not a long wait at all. My cleaning was surprisingly painless unlike my previous dentist office. They even cleaned a hard to reach area between my bottom front teeth that my previous dentist didnt even try to clean. There was a hardened build up there for years and the hygenist cleaned it like it was nothing 😮. This seriously made my day. Im honestly impressed by the speed and accuracy of this place, and those are two traits that are hard to come by when it comes to dentist offices. I didnt think I would say this for a dentist office, but I cant wait for my next dentist visit. Im so glad I changed my dentist to this place. Highly recommend. All about money and . My husband went and got a root canal and crown and in that same week the crown was missing which indicated that it was not properly done. After stopping in to address the issue, the owner and dentist who messed up the job decided that she wanted me to pay 50 bucks to even talk about it. Her dad was much more professional. But she seems to have a complex more about money than to rectify the hack job that she performed. Would not send my worst enemy there. Horrible Boss.

I love this Dentist, clean you dont have to wait forever to get a appointment with them and the wait time is very small and the staff are really Friendly I have a few favs (Avery, Angie, Dr Chew) and they work with you if you need payment plans. I simply love this place, the staff is simply amazing, personable, and welcoming.I lost a cousin having a simple root canal procedure (at another dentist office) so needless to say my fear of simple procedures are extremely high however, when I say each hygienist that came in talked to me throughout all of my procedures....I cannot thank all of you enough!

My daughter was a first time patient a few months ago and she had to get an extraction and two fillings. She’s never had Work done on her teeth before so she was very nervous. After everything was completed she walked out of the office extremely relieved. She said the dentist who worked on her was really really nice. He even played her favorite song to lighten the mood. His name was Dr Chess. I then recommended my mom to go there and she said they were really good. Now it’s my turn. I was in there about an hour ago for a crown and filling. Dr Joni’s Marcus was BEYOND AHHHMAZING. She explained the process the entire time. She even counted me down when she was almost done on my tooth. Dr Chess came in for my cleaning and he was just as nice. And let’s not forget Ms Barb. She is such a cute lady. She also did a great job assisting and placing my temp crown on. My interactions with the other ladies in the office were good as well on previous visits and this visit. Dr Joni have a great group of employees in her office. Now I see why one of the reviews stated that she travels from De or Nj to her office.

Everyone at this office made me feel welcomed and they showed great compassion for my care and comfort. Their promptness and attention for detail in all areas of service won my 5 star vote.

Very good own Family Dental office Ive been going here for over 20 years and Ive always had good quality no problems Ive had a couple caps Ive had a couple wisdom teeth pulled and the reason why I started going here I dropped off someone my godmother and they had a sign saying we (cater to cowards ) and that drawed my attention cuz I was afraid of dentists but its a very good strong structured dental office dr. Joni Marcos and her father and the whole staff are very pleasant and the rest of the family also people and easily to get along with and you will find yourself feeling at home I was very afraid of the dental offices at one time but now Im very confident and comfortable with the staff and the dentist that work with the family.

If there was a way I could give this place no stars I would when I say completely unprofessional there’s no way they follow the HIPPA protocol because they discuss patients issues and talk negative about their patients along with their colleague if your a nervous patient that don’t know how to be there to calm and comfort you they just run away and be very stand-off ish as if they don’t know how to deal with you or don’t want to for that matter. This place should of been shut down but I guess because they work with the poor the remain with the doors open but their no good for the community period
