My son has been going to Joes for a few years now and loves the place. I have been bringing my grandsons for the past 6 months, they dont sit still all the time. Last night Brian cut their hair, besides doing an amazing job on both of them he had the patience of a Saint and calmly refocused them to stay still and got the job done. His detail to each of their styles were phenomenal!! Best place around!! Kudos to Joes Throwbacks!!

I had a great experience with Sue she gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for. Highlights to add some dimension to my natural red hair. And the secluded woman’s area made me feel super comfortable great place to get your hair done!

Anytime I went to Joe’s I got a great hair cut. This time I took my 18 month old son, Joe there. Sue was great with him. Only second haircut and Joe (not barber Joe) didn’t cry once. I’m sure they’re all great with kids but recommend Sue based off our experience. Joe is one of the nicest and most professional people I’ve met and awesome to be around.

The only place I come to get my haircut. Place is always clean, guys are always friendly and Joe is the first barber I’ve ever been to and probably the last one. Great guy, great shop and worth the price/wait!

My boys have been going there for over 2 years. We are Latino and their hair is thick. You wouldnt expect a barber in roxborough to know how to cut their hair but every barber there has! I also love Brian bc he takes his time to discuss their hair with me and showed by boys how to manage their hair. The boys came home feeling empowered! Esp since they are starting to care😉

We love it here, my son has been going there since he 5 years old, he only wants to go here, we tried other places they were not good. My husband goes here now too, that i had my son going there. Joe, Matt, Brian know what they are doing and they are very personable, no need to go anywhere else, love it here. The shop was just redone, we miss the tvs though.

I just moved to this area recently and got my first haircut in Philly. I went online booked an appointment with Brian. Well after arriving I was forced to wait almost an hour. Which in itself wasnt to much of an issue with covid I understood. However, after waiting an hour Brian passed me on to some female in the back. She had absolutely no idea what she was doing. I walked out the shop with the worse haircut I ever received in my life. I went home and had to fix it myself. I regretted ever going there and will never return again. I will say she was extremely nice and friendly but she can not cut African American hair and should never try again. The way Brian passed me off to her was unprofessional. If I wanted her to cut my hair I would have booked with her. Avoid this place ifyou want to look respectable. Ill drive 45 miles to my hometown for now on to get a cut. I would give it a zero stars if I could because I was that unhappy. Go here if you must but be warned. The guy that got cut before me looked just as unhappy as I was.

I have been going to Joe for a few years now and have always been very happy with his haircuts. Joe is extremely professional, friendly and courteous. If he is running a few minutes late, which is very rare, he will shoot me a text to let me know he is running behind which I really appreciate. The barbershop also has a very friendly atmosphere and Joe makes everyone feel welcomed from steady customers to first time walk-ins. Overall a great shop and highly recommended.

Joe was some how able to get me in same day for an appointment on a busy Friday. I sat down in Jarred’s chair and have never been more satisfied with a cut. More than fairly priced compared to most other spots in the neighborhood. No frills old-school barbering with modern abilities. Straight razor finish. Nice people, neighborhood clientele. I will definitely return.

Always get a great haircut here. I have always gone to Joe, the owner, so I cant speak on the other barbers. Joe has been cutting hair forever and can do any style you prefer. Its nice to be able to make an appointment and sit right down as soon as I walk in. I used to wait over an hour when I was going to another shop that doesnt take appointments, which was frustrating. Overall, this place is awesome, everyone is nice, and Joe gives some proper haircuts.

Been coming here for a while. Got my hair cut by both Joe and Ben and I gotta say they are the best in the area. Never left with a bad haircut. Joe listens to what u want and proceed to deliver the best result. And hes a cool fun guy to talk to. Ben is more quiet but his cutting skill is top notch. Dont think Ill be going anywhere else for my haircut

By the time I hung up, they were already returning my call to tell me they were.As for the haircut, it was exactly what I asked for. Matthew was very thorough and a true craftsman. The people here are superfriendly and I really wanted to like the result. I even said I like it at first but the more I look at it now the more I ask myself where it went so wrong. I was told designs are Jaydens specialty. I dunno...Ill add a photo to the picture section so that it speaks for itself.

First time here and I think Ive found my barber. As soon as I walked in the door, Joe greeted me and shook my hand(even though he was in the middle of a cut). The 2 chairs were currently occupied so I took my seat in the clean space to wait my turn. Joe had made it a very welcoming atmosphere. My turn was up and I took my place at the second chair. I am terrible with names and cant remember the barbers name(I know, Im a horrible person). I was very vague with directions, but he knocked it out of the park. Joe, on the other hand, is great with names and knows everybody who comes in and calls. Price is outstanding. Overall, its a great value. I will definitely be returning.

Best damn barber in the city hands down. I looked forever for someone that knew how to cut my cowlick and still look good the next day, and thank God I found Joe. Havent let anyone else cut my hair for almost 5 years now.

Two weeks ago I had my seven groomsmen and myself stop by in the morning for haircuts and shaves prior to my wedding. Joe blocked off a three hour time slot for us to kick back and relax. He even provided coffee and breakfast for all of us. Everyone loved the experience and mentioned to me it great idea after we left. Between the service, price, and experience it made my day even more special. Joe is the man!

After trying out what seemed like all the barbers in the east falls, roxborough, manayunk area I was immediately sold the first time I went to Joe’s. That was more than a year ago and still getting superb cuts. The guys actually listen to you when you tell them what you want and once they get to know you the cuts get better.

First time at Joes, recommended by a friend, and it was a great experience. Joe is a real nice guy who greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. Ive been getting a combover with a fade on the sides for several years and this is arguably the best cut Ive had. He takes his time and makes sure he know what you want, and then cuts exactly that.
