Went there with our neighbors. We have all passed there many times but made our 1st visit last week. They did not disappoint. Food was plentiful and very very good. Real Italian style. Nice Broadway music playing in background. Again food was excellent, takig my daughter there for a wonderful experience.

We have been ordering from there since the pandemic started.. trying to support our local restaurants as much as possible...we now have ordered everything on there menu...I cant pick a favorite..everything was so good each and everytime..the employees are so helpful and welcoming...I have only dined in once prior to the pandemic and enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. And you cant beat the prices...

Old school Italian. We love it here. Byob and good value for your money. $20 gets you bruschetta, salad or soup, bread with roasted red peppers, side of pasta, main dish and ice cream.

Hard to get a reservation, now I understand why. As soon as you sit down they bring free appetizers, salmon, vegetables and crackers. Some of the prices are high, but I had a nice, big glass of Silcian red wine for $13.

First time ever we decided to have our Christmas dinner catered and at the same time support our local small business, we chose Johnnies Italian Restraunt on comly st, and the whole experience was fantastic from how nice the girls were when we picked it up to how much food they gave us for what they called a party of 3 to how VERY VERY GOOD the food was, flounder stuffed with crab meat was out of this world good, hopefully soon we will be able to visit and acualy sit in and eat and enjoy the atmospherewe need to support our communityWe need to support our small businesses and keep each other safe.Thank You Johnnies .You will be seeing us again.

Just did take out for the Dinner for 3 of the Chicken Parmesan.....and it was fabulous. Large pieces of chicken and the Penne Vodka to die for. Actually everything we have ever gotten at Johnnies is delicious, fresh and the portions are huge.

Excellent food and service, great atmosphere

I attended a surprise birthday party here. This was my first visit. I was surprised how beautiful the room is. The room was big and inviting. It was easy to decorate for your own party. The food was very good. The staff was helpful and attentive to the party. The bathroom could use some updating. The one stalls are very small and it was cold in the bathroom. It was easy to pass over to the bar to get drinks to bring to the party as well. Good time.

Love the food can’t beat the price. Only wish they had rolls with olive oil n pepper. Will bring my own next time. Also chief needs to be more professional . Stop yelling at waitress

First time here. All I can say is 5 stars is not enough. From the service to the ambiance to the food....OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Just superb. Listening to all the old tunes brought me back to when my grandmother used to cook! Absolutely phenomenal!!!

Food was DELICIOUS - gourmet! $20 price fixe menu on Saturday is so worth it - so much food - you feel guilty leaving what the bill is - its so reasonable. Looking for a wedding reception venue and this is on the top of our list. Has a South Philly cozy family feel. Highly recommend!

Worst Italian food as well as some of the worst food Ive had from a restaurant. I dont know if this was a bad day due to the prior rave reviews or what. I never write reviews but I have to for this. Eggplant parm swam in cheap oil and the tomato sauce was so salty I could only have one bite. Alfredo sauce had no cheese and swam in cheap oil. I want my money back. Would have sent food back immediately but it I ordered using door dash.

I really wanted to love this place but the food was so-so...the waitress/hostess was very friendly and funny. Prices cant be beat and you will end up with some extra food to take home. The decor needs an upgrade for sure..tears in the seat cushions, flies constantly landing on your table and food, some water stains on the ceiling...all relatively minor and cheap fixes that if they got done would go a long way.

This is a great place to go on a dinner date for quiet peaceful romance. Or a large family eating a good dinner. You can come at different times and it is worth the price because you bring home good food.

Very nice restaurant but the chicken was burnt and they should of just gave me the whole meal together rather than in courses. I ended up with pasta separate then 20 minutes later I just got chicken on a plate. Very upset. I don’t recommend.

On Sunday, my friends and I dined at Johnnies for the first time. The experience was excellent. A pleasant atmosphere with soft background music made it special. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Service was impeccable and we received VIP treatment. We chose the five course prix fixe meal which was just twenty dollars. Congratulations to the chef, the food was delicious. Up until now, Johnnies was a well kept secret. Bravo!

An off the beaten path fine dining experience. The chef/owner, Johnnie, is creative. I have eaten at Johnnies probably about 10 times and never had a negative experience. I strongly recommend it.

I had hopes that we found a hidden gem in the Frankford area but I was terribly disappointed. Walking in here felt like walking into an episode of kitchen nightmares. Dirty dishes set out on the table, dirty menus, the place was almost completely empty, service was poor, and we found a shrimp leg in our Cesar salad (which was sent back to me instead of being given a fresh one).... Just overall a very sad experience.
