I went there to fix my car. They told I need to pay 100$ for the inspection. I did not agree and I didn’t want to inspect the car by them. But the told I couldn’t not take the car until I inspect the car by them and give them the money. They gave me threat if I don’t pay. I gave them the money without doing anything and left the place. Don’t go to this place. They can rob you.

The service is good. The people are honest about prices and problems with your car. I would definitely recommend this business.

I needed inspection and an oil change. He calls me a couple hours later and tells me its not good and goes on to list a number of things wrong with my car that is causing it to fail inspection, however, it did pass emissions. A lot sounded suspect so I told him no, Im coming to pick it up.I arrive and my car is out front in the open very close to Aramingo Ave. I go in and he tells me the cars not ready yet, they still have parts to put on the car. Kept just saying not ready. I go outside to my car and first of all, its unlocked and opens right up with nobody watching it. Second, the contents of my middle console are emptied and its very clear that the contents of my whole car have been gone through.A mechanic came out to the car and he said they might have been looking for a release or something... yea right. He also said we gotta give it an oil change (which they said they already did) and I tell him dont bother. I go back in and I ask the owner why he told me they did the oil change already and he said he thought they did. I tell him I want to settle up for the failed inspection and get out of there.One of the suspicious charges he wanted for the passed inspection was $60 to clean, buff, and aim headlights... both headlights have been replaced in the last year... clean what? I just replaced the driver side wipers, he wanted both replaced. $4 to wash my windshield? And the big one was to fix my front brakes which theyre not even squeaking yet. When I asked if he was talking about just the pads,, he said yes, however, the rotors are itemized on the parts side of the print out. I will get them fixed but definitely not with this guy.He bragged about not being afraid to tell you whats wrong with your car... in reality he will nitpick every little thing to increase his profits. He is not on your side.EDIT: Wow... 1 last thing: this guy told me that my regular mechanic had sold his business and was closing up shop (they were temporarily closed bc of construction by their shop). I just called my guy and he confirmed that Obrien is a liar and thats what he has to do to get more business. What an absolute disgrace, DO NOT GO HERE!

They tried to charge me 109$ to get my car lifted up & when I tried to ask why I had to pay 109$ to just check the bottom of my car the owner and his coworker answered me in a horrible manner basically cursing me out! Owner is extremely rude and he doesn’t know any customer service!!

This is the most unprofessional and unethical repair shop I have ever visited. I came in for a check engine light diagnostic and repair. Francis said he would work with my service plan. However the day of I recieved no communication as to what was going on with my vehicle. The one time I got through to Francis he proceed to tell me how many problems my vehicle model had and essentially chastised me for owning it. As the end of the day approached and I had recieved no communication from the shop I went down to the shop to see what was going on and found the Francis had left and no one else in the shop had any clue what was going on . I asked if the car was ready and they said it was when I asked if it had been repaired they were confused and then said yes. But of course it hadnt been. They charged me ¢189 for what I found out later was diagnostic. Francis claimed to be reaching out to my service plan provider but when I called to check they said he had not reached out. Only after I brought this up did he even contact them.Long story longer Francis suddenly claimed he couldnt get the part to fix my vehicle. Instead he again insulted me for owning the vehicle and even expecting him to fix it. I went to another shop who cleared the check engine light for $100 repair. This service center is trash!

As a woman, its intimidating going to a mechanic on your own as its known that theyll try to get as much money as possible from you because of lack of knowledge. That didnt happen here. Went in for steering wheel shake @ speed, after two visits & $1500 in front end suspension work the issue was still not resolved... when it was all said & done owner advised me to buy new wheels online. On top of that shop scratched up my door. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else

It would have gotten 5 stars if not for all the lies.I went in for a tire flat which my son called ahead to make sure it could be fixed. To be clear, the tire was fixed as I asked. It was the sneaking and not telling me they dug in my glove box for car information instead of just asking me for it. And, the wierd turns the managers conversation took. Sometimes a pipe is just a pipe. What was so intrusive and unprofessional was that the manager never mentioned that past car repair bill was taken, used, and returned with my invoice when it was all over. That would have been the right thing, if not the professional way to handle such a delicate matter. Now, I have to worry about scams. At least there is a paper trail.

I’ve been going to OBriens for a few years. The owner is a real nice guy & NOT a scammer. He treated me more then fare. He also felt bad for me bc I got taken on a car purchase, & he discounted tires for me. The only reason I haven’t been back is bc I didn’t have a car. But now that I’m mobile again, they will get all my service. I won’t go anywhere else.

Dennis is a great mechanic. Talked to the owner, says he has a degree in mechanical engineering and electronics. He was a super honest and knowledgeable dude. I would highly recommend him and this shop. First time visit. Definitely will be back.

Got my emissions tested there this morning. They we’re very friendly, quick and fairly priced.

A friend recommended this place for an oil change and I went without an appointment and was serviced immediately (on a weekday morning). Everyone was incredibly friendly! They don’t try and trick you into any extra services or anything which is soooo nice. It was super fast. I had a light on in my car regarding my tire pressure, they checked it without hesitation and fixed the problem without any charge. They went above and beyond and were super nice and approachable. Plus they have a super friendly shop cat named Isabella. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be back with any other auto needs I have.

They can be good, but you have to know your stuff. Will charge you a full hour for something that only takes 10mins. If you have radiator/cooling issues, I would recommend going to a radiator specialist. They accidentally put a tire on my car that was used and had a bolt in it. I attribute their errors to being over worked and the owner not having his heart in it anymore. Will say they will call you and they dont. I have to stay on top of them. They are as good as it gets for this part of Philly.

I had a plug done on my tire in less than 10 minutes. They were quick and informative. Fran is a talker but full of good information. They seem to have a good reputation. Im sure Ill be buying tires from them soon

These guys are great! I first went there when I needed a tire put on and it was only like $10. Ive been back 3-4 times for leaking tires, inspection, and then some work that was badly needed. They take the time to show you whats wrong, dont make up unnecessary work, and are extremely reasonable. Theyll find a part less expensively when they can. You can walk in and have your car done the same day almost any time. Also, the cat in the lobby is super friendly and loves to get pet, and expect to hear some good stories from the owner while you check in/out.

I went to OBriens on a whim and I dont regret it! Fran, the owner, was friendly and helpful; working with me to get the work done that I needed without spending a fortune. I had my front bumper and lights replaced as well as my tires aligned. The work was done quickly and was reasonably priced! I felt comfortable going into the shop and discussing the work with the other employees. Communication was frequent while my car was worked on and I always felt in the know. I will be returning to OBriens for any other auto body work in the future!

Excellent auto service center! Had some battery issues, brought my car in, spoke with Fran the owner for a bit, and it was fixed within a few hours. The price for parts and labor were all reasonable for the work. I just moved into the area and Ive found my local auto shop!

Been going here for about 2 years. Went in for a wheel alignment nothing else. Was told about 2 hours. I got a call back saying I needed new tires and rear wheel studs. I told the man Frances on the phone that I only want the wheel alignment and we agreed on a price of $175. That was at 12:00. 4 and half hours later my car was finished. (Does Not Take 4 Hours For A Wheel Alignment) I come to a bill of $270 which was not the price I was giving and even after I told him I did want to do the wheel studs he still did them anyway and expected me to pay for the work that I should I did not want done. He then tried to lower the price and say that is the best he can do. Again I did not ask him to do the work. Also he was suppose to repair a bubble in my front tire which he did not do. He simple moved the front tire to the back. Worst experience I’ve ever had from a mechinec shop. I do not recommend. Just other shop trying to get money out of you. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Great service! Its not the sort of shop a girl needs to be afraid of bringing her car to. The owner is there all the time, he runs everything by you before they do anything to your car.They have a little waiting area with a cat (who wasnt there this time :( ) Its clean but very busy. Credit cards welcome, the prices are fair and they have a 10% discount if you check in on yelp.This was my 3rd visit and Ill come back come inspection time!

Very friendly, reasonably priced, and accommodating. I blew out my tire going over a pothole on Easter weekend, which meant many places were closed or closing soon. I called these guys and they said to bring it in even though it meant they’d be open after hours just to help me out. Thank you guys for not leaving a poor girl stranded!

Had a flat tire and Vanessa was amazing, I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes. While she patched it I had a nice conversation with Frank (the owner) while petting the shop cat, Isabella. Will definitely be going back for my future needs!

Broke down on the side of the road and they got me back up and running within 2 hours.

Got quotes from several auto places in the area to install a part that I already bought and all of them were giving me a ridiculously high number. OBriens quote was half the cost of what others wanted and they installed it pretty quickly even though they seemed busy. Go there and talk to Fran. Straight-shooter and didnt try to bleed me on extra costs that I seem to get at other places.

I’m so glad I stopped by yesterday. Fran (the owner?) told me it was busy and they might not get to my car but I was welcome to leave it and if anything they would get to it in the morning. I was surprised he called me like at 5 to tell me the oil/filter was done.They topped off the windshield fluid. I’ll be back this week to have my windshield done. They work on glass but for that you need an appointment.

I had a flat tire this morning and OBriens was the closest shop. I took my car there and was in and out in 15 minutes. Chatted with the owner while I was there, he was really nice and friendly. It was very affordable and fast, definitely recommend.

Just had an alignment done and enjoyed the experience. I received a print out before and after my alignment--never received this from some big name places like monroe and pep boys before. No only that, but I got a quote for an exhaust system to be installed and the price was right. If you are going to get some work done, Id recommend this place anytime, especially over a big name place like pep boys that wont even do it right and will send you out there with a wheel alignment that is somewhat complete. Trust the dirty shops, not the clean mainstream places. The little guy will take care of you, not the corporations. Good luck.

They saw me and figured I didnt know much about cars and wanted to take advantage of an opportunity to make a quick buck instead of an opportunity to gain a consistent local customer.OBriens tried telling me a nail was in the side-wall of my tire ( after second opinion, this proved not to be true), and Obriens also said that it would be illegal for them to patch my tire. Next I was told a new tire was necessary and that they luckily had one in stock which would cost me $89 with cash or $100 with a credit card. I informed them I wasnt sure about the pricing and needed to come back with more money or a credit card either way as I didnt anticipate it ever being that expensive. I left my tire and rim for about 30 minutes and upon returning back, they had already removed my tire from my rim AND put another USED tire onto my rim. So the NEW tire WASNT new at all. It was used. These are really inaccurate prices ESPECIALLY FOR A USED TIRE!I never authorized or paid them to do any work, and yet they presumptuously began without my approval. I certainly wasnt about to pay $100 for a USED tire. I left with my rim and old tire in search of a shop with better customer service and personal ethics (which it took me all of an hour to find).Hopefully they learn repeat business is more valuable than increasing a sale above its actual value.

Sat there for 45 minutes and asked the dude if Ill even be seen he told me just leave. your a straight liar ! you told me a few minutes never once said a price. After rolling in unexpected at 7am with two blown out tires Mr. Francis got me taken care of immediately. 2 new tires at a decent rate and showed me the damage that had happened to my rims and went ahead and repaired that as well. He even went as far to give me a follow up call and make sure the wheels held up on my 100 mile journey home. Couldnt have asked for a better experience with this place.

My one star rating has absolutely nothing to do with the transporting company or work I had done on that vehicle. It’s for the time I called saying your mechanic said he would help me out with painting my bumper and you went on to say you are “God” when it comes to your shop and went on being unprofessional stating you decline the work and to never call asking for one of your mechanics. It doesn’t matter at this point anyway because the public sees your over all ratings from your FORMER customers!

They are very thorough with inspecting cars and upfront about pricing and how long repairs will take. I reccomend coming in as early as possible because by 10 or 11 oclock its very busy.

Ive been coming to OBriens for about 6 years. I think it is the best shop in Philly. I came here the first time by chance but Ive become a loyal customer - so has my sister and my friends. I dont agree with the reviewer who says they over-charge; I have personally been sitting in the waiting room and heard owner, Fran OBrien, calling around to get the best price on parts for his customers. Its a friendly shop too - Fran is talkative and honest - maybe too honest for some people. He does not mince words! But I recommend his shop to everyone. Its got everything you want: good mechanics, fair prices and most of all, a straight-talking owner who knows his business and his neighbors.

Pepboys couldnt even come close to diagnose my car. I brung my car right over to OBriens. The equipment that he have is top on the line. When i tell you they are electrial specialist omg!! I think his name was danni that worked on my car,he found and fixed wires in my car the i could have possibly set my car on fire. They walked me through the whole process n kept my informed with everything that was being done and what they found. The owner is some arrogant old man who thinks he knows everything and doesnt. The waiting area smells like a petty zoo with litter boxes and stray cats trying to rub against you while you wait. They will fix your car after hours of waiting with cheap parts you can order yourself from rock auto. Would I go back? Hell no..

Very inconvenient place.i went to do the allignement there they were telling me our allignement device is the best better than pepboys and after done they didnt finish it good and they didnt give me warranty or anything.for the same price u can do it at pepboys or anyother shop who gives you warranty too.i went back told them to check after 2 days they said we gonna call u coz we are busy and they never did call.if u wanna send the car somewhere where they dont care how your car is fixed this is the place.they wont get your car back to check it if its not fixed good.be carefull there are a lot places maybe even cheaper and better service for your car.car safety is important !

My car broke down on i95 yesterday in rush hour omg what an experience that was then I got towed off the girade Ave exit to a shop the tow truck guy said could help me I had two blow outs amazing there were able to help me so fast and professional. Got my car right in. Tires were in stock. Lifesavers.
