If I could give 0 stars, I would but google will not allow me to do so. On Monday, I had issues with my car due to the unfortunate weather and respectfully I made a call to McAllen PD because I was left stranded. They came to the scene and called a towing company called Ventura’s Towing. The tow truck arrived and took my car, not telling me where it was going. With the weather being terrible, a lot of business were closed so they kept my car for 3 days before they were able to reach the dealership where I had purchased the vehicle from. Ventura’s gave me a call and said in order for me to have my vehicle dropped off (mind you it was a short distance between point A & B), I was going to have to pay $1000 out of pocket. If there was any price gouging going on during the circumstances the RGV faced, this place is it. Would highly not recommend at all!

Quoted me $56 per MILE for a tow - $450 for 8 miles from Edinburg to McAllen. These are the people that give towing operators a bad name. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Where to start... DO NOT SIGN ANY FORMS! Unethical company!!! First I never requested service from this company, McAllen Police requested the service, as Ventura must be on a list that they draw from for towing services. Here is my experience, I would NEVER recommend this company. After a vehicle accident, McAllen Police contacted Ventura Towing. We were unaware of who the towing company was, until they showed up. That said, I wanted to use another towing company, that the repair shop we wanted to use, recommended. When the Ventura Tow truck showed up, I spoke to the driver and told him the collision center I wanted the vehicle taken to, which was less than 1 mile away from the accident. The driver agreed, or so I thought, and loaded the vehicle onto his truck. The driver would not allow anyone to ride with him. We then left, to meet him at the collision company we told him to go to. Upon the Ventura tow truck leaving, he immediately did a U-turn, driving in the opposite way. Right away, we called the number on the business card. The gentleman who answered said he cannot call his drivers, he could only text them, a blatant lie, and violation of state law, texting and driving. After the vehicle never showed up to the collision company we were at, and told the Ventura Towing driver to go to, we called the Ventura Towing again. We were told that the vehicle was in their yard, and would not be brought to the collision company. After being hung up on, twice by Ventura, we then drove to Ventura Towing. Keep in mind we were all missing work. After arriving, and blood pressure being elevated, we were told that the car would be a total loss, a guess by Ventura Towing. We were let in to the vehicle to retrieve personal items. We then let the insurance, Geico, know where the vehicle was located. The gentleman in the front, who I believe was the owner, told us to fill out a form in order for Gieco to inspect the car and retrieve the car. Since we are now a couple hours into missing work, which would not have happened if the tow truck driver delivered the car to the requested collision center, the forms were signed.DO NOT SIGN FORMS! I cannot stress that enough. The first question Geico adjuster asked was, did you sign forms at Ventura Towing. When we said yes, we had to in order to release the vehicle to you. He said that Geico has an issue with Ventura Towing because in those forms, it releases the vehicle to Ventura Towing to complete the work! This company totally takes advantage of those who have to make decisions based on minimal knowledge...I.e. the vehicle owner/driver has never been involved in an accident.Either way, after about a week, and Geico negotiating with Ventura Towing, the original collision center we choose to use, was allowed to come and pick up the vehicle. After inspection, the vehicle is not totaled and will be fixed.McAllen Police! I urge you to take this unprofessional towing company off of your list. This company gives the McAllen Police a bad image in the publics perception on companys they associate with.
