Terrific place for serious bakers. They mill the flour you want.

I have ordered some 50lb bags from here a few times and its a good price and good flour. However, the reason for my review is Will. I was having issues ordering online and he spent a solid 10-15 mins trying to troubleshoot with me over the phone before it became apparent there was some backend glitch happening in the system. Then will took my order via phone and absolutely crushed helping me out overall. So, this is a shout-out to Will who did an awesome job handling a weird situation and helping me place my order. Cheers dude, thanks for the help!

I paid $40 for a lot of flour to be shipped to my house. Unlike every other company that fulfills online orders, Keith Giusto / Central Milling did not provide notification when the package is shipped nor any tracking information, even though it is available through FedEx. Two weeks later I reached out via email to inquire and am told that the package was already delivered. I suspect it was stolen off of my porch, as it likely sat there for up to 24 hours without my knowledge. Keith Giusto / Central Milling refused to refund me and advised me to file a claim with FedEx. I believe this loss is Keith Giusto / Central Millings responsibility—not mine—since they didnt notify me that the package was sent nor a means to track it.I tend to find negative reviews about customer service as whiny and not all that fair—everyone has a bad day and such reviews often tend to be about a small perceived slight. However, in this case, Im out $40 with no flour, which Keith Giusto / Central Milling could have avoided by providing a service that is standard practice for all online orders. I just want others to be aware and I advise ordering flour online at another vendor.

I have used OO flour from the south (Georgia) and from Italy and Giustos OO reinforced is the BEST hands down. I mean BIG hands down. It is miles ahead of any other OO I have used. I have used it with fresh and active dry yeast with zero issues and wonderful dough!

Just took my second class with Craig Ponsford at the Artisan Baking Center at Keith Guisto/Central Milling and it did not disappoint. This class was a 3 hour overview of Bavarian pretzel making with German master baker Pablo Giet.As with my previous experience the facilities, organization, staff, and materials were first rate. They even prepared a special Lye pretzel kit for us to bake our prepared doughs at home. Great value and great resource for the home baker. It doesnt hurt that their flours are top notch as well!

The best thing I found here was organic corn starch, flour 5lb bags among other things. For a gluten free shopping it was pretty decent .

Guistos is the BEST flour source in the Bay Area - no contest. They have tons of options and my sour dough has always performed well. A go to source.
