Better off getting a home gym if you work nights.5 racks with 2 or 3 smith machines, good selection of free weights. If you are there within an hour of closing time, the staff starts putting more and more pressure on you to leave. With the hours they have and the money that I pay to go there every month, thats ridiculous.Skip going there for a year and you can get a great home gym instead.
At first, I was intimidated to step into Golds Gym because of the stigma of this gym (big body builders) even though I am an avid gym goer. I was pleasantly surprised! I love how there is every type of person in this gym, such as people that workout a lot and people who prefer to just cardio. They have great fitness classes and good equipment, the staff is friendly as well. I’m sad to be leaving Peoria but I wish I had discovered this place earlier. I strongly recommend this gym, no pun intended.
Friendly staff and clean equipment! Great place to workout for all fitness levels. My one complaint is the hours could be longer.
Great place to work out. Have just about every piece of equipment that u will need and want. Friendly staff, great atmosphere for the serious athlete as well as the recreational athlete and for those who want to stay and get in shape. Highly recommend!!!💪
Nice location and better professionals then other gyms in area.
Should be 24 hr. Get rid of the juice bar no one uses.
Just moved here and it’s a great gym. A lot of space and equipment
Amazing staff. Highly recommend!!!
Good equipment selection (your typical weights, cardio, and machines, plus: kettlebells, medicine balls and a jacobs ladder), clean gym, and friendly staff.
This will be my first week and so far I love it the front desk staff, the coaches everyone very welcoming and friendly
We love the les mills trainers and classes that weve taken so far, and we got a great deal when we got signed up. The place is well taken care of. Our 7 year old loves the kids zone, she has a lot of fun when shes in there. There is a sauna, changing area, lockers, a place to hang your keys when youre not bringing in a bag of stuff, the staff are great, and people seem friendly.
Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff is so warm welcoming and friendly here.
Been working out for a couple months, so far the only problem is it gets very crowded. The gym is too small for how many members the gym has. They should use some of that enormous parking space outside and extend the gym out.
Top gym best Gym. Staff very helpful and friendly!!
Plenty of space and options. Love the indoor track. Equipment is well kept. Group fitness classes are top-notch. Showers could be a little nicer, but the locker rooms are spacious.
Been to almost every gym in the area and Golds gym is by far the best! People come here to actually workout! The staff is excellent, gym is clean, daycare is caring, and the smoothies are delicious. If I find a gym thats better than Golds maybe I will come back and give this 🌟🌟🌟🌟 or 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2.
Great gym. For the price should be a little bigger. Other than that no complaints
Nice place. Nice service. Nice people.
This is a great gym. Its clean and well-lit. Towel service is available for a low fee. The instructors are phenomenal, and the gym offers an incredible array of classes throughout much of every day.
Awesome gym and very clean! Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this facility for all your workout needs.Dr. Jerry E. Carter, DC,FASA
Were happy with the gym during the time we were members there - its a good value for the money if you make use of the facility. However, beware the cancellation policy makes you jump through a number of hoops, which led to some frustrations for us.
The best full service gym in Peoria!! This gym has something for everyone, full floor of lifting equipment, tons of cardio, an indoor track, and even a crossfit style functional fitness area! I love the full schedule of Les Mills group fitness classes. Sauna is the best! And free childcare is a total life saver!
Staff is nice, facility is great its the members that suck. Far too many people sitting on a bench texting or chatting away. They could sit at the smoothie bar but no. Better to occupy equipment and send some super important selfies. Other than that, plenty of space good price.
A great place to call home. The staff is really nice, the gym is always fairly clean. Only thing to complain about is the BO smell but thats all on the gym members.
Good facilities, has a track. I wish it had a pool and it gets a bit busy for my taste.
Good equipment, large and airy, good smoothie prices, sauna. Unfortunatly no tanning, one of the staff members didnt really know his supplements, kind of indifferent. Evryone else seemed nice
Excellent service
Hands down thee best gym I have ever been too. It has a Coliseum effect with the second floor and everyone who works here is nice. They usually have someone cleaning all the time too
Staff can be hit or miss and you will get a lot of lurkers who lean but don’t lift on equipment. Decently clean and most of the basic equipment is there.
Clean modern with great equipment.
Love going to this gym! They have class that you can take, at no extra charge, and the instructors are awesome!
Great gym thats always clean. But if you forget your headphones, just turn around and go home. The music is awful. Just. Go. Home.
I was here for business, and used the facility. Its fairly new, well maintained and clean. Plenty of cardio and weight equipment to go around. Only thing i would like to see is a pool and steam sauna
Well maintained. Great place to work out.
Staff is always nice, equipment is functional and the facility is very clean. Great price for the membership.
Best gym in the area for the price.
Love it here. Love the shakes and the employees have friendly faces
I used to think so much about this gym and I always looked forward to workout here. I only live in Peoria two months in the summers and during Christmas, so it was very convenient for me to buy their month long passes/week long passes here and there. While the equipment is in top shape and the place is exceptionally clean, they have a very strict policy about people working out together, that they do not disclose to the public. My 3 month pass expires tomorrow and for the last 2 weeks I’ve been lifting here with a friend, who just so happens to have an excercise science degree. Neither of us have EVER sneaked in once and we have always bought their overpriced shakes at the end of our workout. In my past two years of lifting at this gym I have personally seen people sneak in a countless amount of times and not one worker has ever done or said ANYTHING about it.Today, this particular Golds Gyms’ franchise owner suspected my friend of training me in order to profit money. While he was correct that my friend was giving me proper instruction on how to lift heavy weight, he was incorrect and extremely unprofessional to suspect us of not having “gym etiquette” because of the fact that I was receiving unpaid instruction from him, while the both us were getting a great workout in. I will NEVER be returning to any Golds’ Gym within the Peoria/Morton/ Pekin area. The owner addressed his concern to us in a very unprofessional manner ! At this particular location, I can name a handful of people that DO infact practice the type of unethical behavior and profit money from multiple clients. In that case, the owner would have every right to go after these people and get in their face. But, he doesn’t ! The owner saved that type of inappropriate behavior for two guys just trying to get the best out of their limited time membership ! UNREAL !!
Best place to get work ✔ done
Great place great staff
Theyve updated things, but its definitely showing its age.
If you havent been to a nice gym, youll like this place. Average to sub- par if youre used to premium gyms available in bigger markets. Franchised location. No Pool. No Steam Room. Mens Locker room not well maintained, needs renovating (sinks disgusting). Water fountain water not filtered, and thats a problem in Peoria because water tastes bad, no option for water bottle. Upstairs water fountain barely works. Weekend hours very short, dont get the logic behind why it closes at 8pm on Weekends as opposed to the already short 10pm. And why it opens later 8am as opposed to 5am. Hours should be consistent. Hours should be 5am-12am every day. Period. Conclusion, OK only because there is nothing better out there in Peoria.
Nice people, clean place, great classes
Great staff, great instructors for group fitness, clean, well maintained equipment.
People here, at least in the evening, seem to be serious about lifting. Good atmosphere, friendly regulars. Day pass $10.
I like the gym but the hours are horrible. Why is it only open til 6 on weekends? Really wish they had later hours.
Amazing workouts amazing trainers and an amazing environment
This gym is clean, has a large running track and plenty of machines. The staff is also very kind and helpful.
Moved in June and found out our new apartment has no room for my Bowflex or Bowflex Dumbbells...without taking up the entire living room. There are cheaper gyms around the area but Golds is by far the largest. When I visited OF COURSE I asked where the pool was, the heavy bag, the speed bag, etc and got a funny look from one of the guys working there....totally forgot I was in a Golds, not a health club. This place is for fitness, not to play in a pool. I go in the mornings and very rarely do I ever have to wait for a machine, if ever. There are a ton of treadmills, etc and the temperature is always nice. Theres also people cleaning and wiping the areas so its always a good environment. Theres a lot of cars in the parking lot in the afternoon but dont get discouraged since most are there for some type of class and wont be in your way. Just like any gym there are peak hours where yes, it is busy, but for me in the morning its well worth the $40/month. The only 2 things Id like to see are: Treadclimbers (ya I like Bowflex, so what, I lost 55 pounds with it) and a speed/heavy bag.The smoothies are pretty dang awesome too...ok so three things Id like to see. If you punch in 5 days a week, the 6th straight day you should get a free smoothie...or like 50% off. If someone told me Id be getting free smoothies at the gym Id absolutely have a six-pack by now (it would be under my smoothie gut, but whatever).
The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful!
Great gyms and nice environment..
Big gym with all the equipment you need. I particularly like the track upstairs, but the weight area downstairs is huge too.
Best gym I attended till date
Great staff. Updated machinery
Flexible plans, great people
I wish they would stay open till late on weekends and change some equipments placement.
A non-corporate location that charges $25/mo more than a corporate location with less facility and options.
What can I say....its a gym.
Amazing facility
I love it
Korean Savages Gym!
