Generally busy, but there is adequate equipment regardless of when you go. Incredibly cordial staff, friendly gym-goers, and fair pricing. Could use another squat rack, but I understand space constraints. Would recommend to anyone in and around Northeast Pensacola. Conveniently located next to a Winn-Dixie as well.
Super friendly staff, clean and theres plenty of equipment! Best gym in the area! Plus the prices are pretty good for the monthly memberships.
No frills, no hassle gym perfect for if youre serious about fitness. They have tons of cardio equipment, some of it definitely old and creaky but works. They have a huge variety of weights, including barbell racks, dumbbells, and machines for every muscle. They seriously need more racks and more areas for deadlifts. Only 4 racks for squats, 4 racks for benching, and 2 areas for deadlifting means youre going to wait regularly to lift. Youll also wait for a bench at the free weights and certain machines at busy times. My favorite part is the sauna. As a woman, Ive never felt uncomfortable here and no men have ever hassled me. I truly dont understand the people who say this gym is pricey. Its $20 a month....how much cheaper can it possibly be?
Possibly the best gym in town. They know it too as they are quite expensive.
Pretty steep pricing but overall great facility.
All sorts of equipment. Definitely need a few more squat racks. Theyre always taken.
A great place to work out
Beat equipment and vibe in town!
I absolutely love this gym. For only paying 20 dollars a month, you can not beat the quality they give you for what you pay. Staff is amazing, people there are respectful and the gym is clean and orderly
Perfect. Has everything you need. No BS gym. Very nice staff that keep it clean. Extremely inexpensive and even has punching bags which are apparently hard to find around here. They arent 24 hours every single day but thats definitely a worth while trade-off for the quality of service and equipment.
They have great workout equipment!
Best workout that I have had in a long time. Some fit people in this gym, reminded me of the good ole days😎
Definitely the best gym in Pensacola for weightlifting! Dumbbells galore plenty of bench presses. Could use one more squat rack in my opinion but still absolutely love this gym!
This gym has everything you need. And it has a daycare. Thats right a daycare. The employee that works in daycare is amazing. Gym is huge with plenty of stuff to use.
I used to be a regular at this time about 2 years ago but stopped my membership since I was using UWF’s gym more. Now that I graduated, I’m back at PFC. One of my favorite things about this gym is that it’s open 24/5 and that there’s a machine for pretty much every muscle. Unfortunately it looks the same as 2 years ago. I wish the equipment was newer, some on it has seen better days... some are just always breaking down. The membership fees are a little high but the location and time the gym is open are convenient for me.
Great place to workout, lots of room no waiting on machines
Could use a little more maintenance. For instance there have been leak spots from ceiling in various areas.
Best gym in town! So happy that I joined. It’s not for everyone. The people who come to this gym take training very, very seriously. Not for amateurs.
Always liked this gym. Even though it is usually crowded, I never seem to have a problem using a machine or treadmill. If you never have been to a gym but want to start, this is a great place. You may see some Arnolds walking around but they are friendly and wont shame you if youre over/under weight.
Excellent gym set up. So much cool equipment. Brandon was great at the counter. Def be back for guest workouts. For sure !
Great gym! They have everything you need and then some. Glad i decided to go with this place over the others i was looking at.
This place will rob you blind. The guy with the glasses up front is very unprofressional. He helped me cancel my membership last month which cost me 75 dollars plus another 8 dollars and a whole month to cancel early which was 50. What he failed to tell me was I had to cancel 30 days in advanced or I would be charged another 30 days. Then when I called on the phone he lied and acted like who ever canceled my membership should of told me that which was him. This guy needs to be fired or have a serious talk or bad reviews will continue to come through. Either way this is fraud and will follow through with my bank because he clearly told me that it would not be drafted out anymore.
Best gym Ive ever been to in my life. Nearly everything about it is perfect, save for the hours of operation. If they were 24/7 Id renew my membership in a heartbeat.
Best gym in town! Very clean, has childcare, tanning and saunas. Staff and owners are super friendly.
Best gym in the United States
Love it. Best in town by far.. could use some newer equipment.
Love this gym 24 hour, membership price is good. Its always clean, they have a dry sauna, free classes 3 days a week the other classes are 5$ per classes, and they have A good selection of workout machines.
Been at this gym for a while now and I’ve seen it change a lot for the better. They are always making small positive changes to make the place better. They have lots of equipment so it’s difficult to get bored. Only complaint i have is the crowd at some times, but that just goes to show you how many people love to workout there. By far the best all around gym in Pensacola
Great gym with wide selection of equipment, helpful staff and very reasonable rates/dues. Crowded at peak hours but so is every gym worth a damn.
I began my journey here when it was powerhouse, this is the foundation of where I built my physique. It is a great gym for going to the next level
I gave 2 stars but that’s only due to the sauna and amount of machines. 1 star for the rest of the gym experience. The women’s locker room has a huge chunk of missing tile that has had a yellow caution sign for the last 2 weeks. Yesterday, the sign wasn’t even covering the hole in the ground, it was just laid on the wall nearby. A huge safety hazard that doesn’t seem to be taken seriously. The gym staff or those in charge of cleaning, in my opinion, are not doing an effective job or even allow for patrons to assist. In previous gyms and larger chain gyms I have been a member of, there was a cleaning of all machines AND a bottle and towel on each or every other machine to ensure that cleanliness was promoted. That is not the case at this gym.Overall, I am unsatisfied with the gym experience.TLDR; gym is great if you desire variety and certain amenities. Gym is horrible if you’re afraid to catch a staph infection because it is very unclean. Also, they require a year contract but don’t seem to do anything with the money in terms of bettering the gym itself.
Lots of equipment and classes. Friendly staff.
Love this gym. Been going here for over a decade and it only gets better. Easily the best gym in Pensacola. Located in a perfect location and has good hours.
When in Pensacola, Florida, this is the ONLY real weight gym. It is a serious and focused gym. Day passes are available too. It the gym has a large parking lot. And the smoothie bar is top notch! The staff is very kind and professional.
Best gym I have ever been a member of. I have been to 3 gyms in Pensacola and this is a great place. I have not noticed any broken equipment and I have not had any billing issues. They do have a contract and to me that is normal. They charge a one time annual fee which is also normal. Have been a member at 5 different gyms. All had an upfront fee and also an annual fee. This is a good gym to go to get a real workout in. Staff are always friendly towards me.
Great selection of equipment. Very helpful and friendly staff. Childcare is outstanding. They are great with the kids and Ive never had any issues with them. Trainers will go out of their way to answer any questions you have while working out. Absolutely love this gym!
Great facility! Great trainers! Nicole is a result driven trainer! Keep up the great work!
Great facility and staff
Ignore the negative reviews. This is not your average gym, it’s a coliseum! If you’re looking to truly change yourself for the better through weightlifting: come here. Trust me, you will not be the biggest guy/girl here. That’s inspiration, not intimidation. Walk up to literally anyone and ask a question and they will help you, give you a spot, and motivate and encourage you.
By far the best gym in town. They are open 24 hours. Have childcare, saunas, and people that actually care about getting you in shape. Dont waste your time and money anywhere else. This gym is so good i drive 10 miles just to get here and gladly do it
Good gym, has everything you need to train. Recently got new stair steppers, which is awesome, it’s the only cardio I enjoy. Staff is super friendly and owners are great! Plenty of coaches who train at the gym if you’re looking to compete or for general fitness. If you find an issue, let the staff know and they’ll take care of it.
Pensacola Fitness has a great selection of equipment and plenty of space to workout. They also have incredible rates for their memberships compared to the other gyms in town, and they have tanning beds which is a huge plus. Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely recommend Pensacola Fitness to others!!
Great gym. Canceled planet fitness membership to come here instead. Best decision!
Intimidating, superficial atmosphere. Don’t expect anyone in here to make your day. Very focused on beating local competition rather than making sure all customers feel valued and comfortable—bad business model! My family made a suggestion about the circuit training machines that was taken into account, but not taken seriously. When the timer was on, other customers would come and use the circuit machines for long durations, preventing us from moving from one machine to the next by the flow of the timer. This could be more readily understood if there weren’t machines exactly like these located in other places inside the gym.I didn’t see many other customers using the circuit training other than my family unit, so I do realize that changing the way a certain area functions for the sake of a few people might come across as “selfish” or “uppity”, but none of those words apply when you’re giving an establishment your paid business and when what you’re asking for is simply for other people to have respect for a designated “circuit training area” whenever the timer is on.“No Rules Policy” might be good for competition, but not when that “No Rules” morphs into “No Respect”—unless, of course, that means not having any respect for the establishment itself, because then I’ll fully support it.My family eventually left this gym over the matter, and it is was an unfortunate shame. We’ve been giving this gym our business for several years through many different managements. They definitely lost loyal customers.
We visit Pensacola about every three months and Ive been to this gym about eight times. If youre looking for a gym to primarily lift weights this is a great place. Plenty of diversified equipment to development a routine. No, its not the prettiest and some of the equipment I had seen better days. There are other places if aesthetics are your priority. The staff has always been pleasant and friendly. Yes, there are meatheads there, but it is a gym.
Ive used this gym 4 - 5 days per week for the past nearly 5 months. I enjoy my visits a lot. Members of the staff are friendly and helpful and they have all the equipment I want/need, with little waiting as I go at off-peak area. I wish they would ramp up their cleaning a bit - particularly in the mens locker room. I see the multiple issues online about their charges, but I must say I havent seen anything that wasnt included in the contract I signed. Im a happy customer and will continue my regular visits.
Kind of unbelievable what you get for the price. Excellent staff, excellent amenities, lots of equipment, just really really good value
Great gym. Best in town definitely.
I love this gym
Updated review; Since the new owners took over Power House is now Pensacola fitness! The new owners are wonderful, Blake really goes out of his way each and everyday to make me feel like family. Its really cleaned up and new equipment! New owners dont take the yearly fee and pocket it like the previous, they care and put the money back into the gym! This place really is home!I do not work for them nor related, just a average bodybuilder that is there 6 days a week!
Great gym with all the amenities and without a killer price tag. My favorite set up in Pensacola!
I have been going to this gym now for about 5 years. About a year ago they merged with another gym and I admit it was a little rocky for a while during the transition. I stuck it out, and in my opinion its back to the same gym it used to be. The staff and other customers are very friendly. They are one of the VERY FEW gym that actually offer child care, and I trust them completely to take good care of my kids. The ladies back there do an amazing job. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone searching for a place to work out.
The gym is good, facilities and equipment work well. I canceled my membership, hoping to waive the cancellation fee, since I was moving. While they were unable to do that, I did not appreciate finding out the membership had not been canceled by seeing a bill on my account. Now Ive been charged and extra month on top of the cancellation fee. Not very good business practice in my opinion.
Ive been going to this gym for a year now. Before I wrote my review know that Ive been a multi-certified trainer since 2005. Ive worked at three different gyms in three different states. Ive been a member of at least 10 gyms in my life. Up until moving here Ive been personal training since 2005. This gym IS one of the worst Ive have been too. Who ever says it is GREAT either is writing a bias review or has not been a member of very many gyms. Equipment is broken kind of often but takes a while to get fixed. The staff is pretty bad also, every time I go in the only staff member who has greeted me was the dude who looks like Channing Tatum, he is very friendly to people who come in. The hours of operation and the way the gym is ran is very amateur. Which shows why the gym is the way it is. Ive never been to a gym that closes at 6 on a weekend, ever. Usually a change in hours of operation are a reflection of profitability or lack there of. They still do contracts which is old school. And the do have billing problems occasionally. If you gave this gym three or more stars your either blind or lying or trying to build the star count on Google reviews cause its average at very very best.
Value is below average. For the same price ($30 per month) the amenities that LA Fitness has that Pensacola Fitness dosent have includes: pool, jacuzzi spa, racquetball, basketball, better equipment, and larger variety of equipment.Pensacola Fitness does have 2 concept II rowing machines and is open 24 hours a day during the week; 2 features that LA Fitness dosent have.
I have been a member at this gym for years and have recently come on board staff at PFC. We have had quite a transition during our merge, but have recently made changes in management and are working to better your experience at the gym. We would love to offer a 1 week free trial to anyone who is interested in trying out the gym - and can deal with any issues or questions you may have.Sincerely,Gigi Pousson
Not the best gym in town. Theres several gyms in the area to meet your needs. If you want your money screwed with go to Pensacola fitness. Whatever your needs are there are other gyms in the area that are way better than this gym.
The gym is clean and friendly. But they do not have adjustable equipment. As I love fitness it is important to adjust your body height to lifting. So I did not like the equipment.
Needs new equipment.... constantly breaking down and cant adjust accordingly. Half the equipment doesnt even get used. Staff needs to sell that juke and get something else to take up the space. Not enough people wipe down the equipment after use. The new YMCA downtown is sounding a lot better at the moment....
This is a great place and so much fun
Is a gym. Where you will workout the right way. And build your body with strength
Best gym in pensacola !
Best gym in town, no doubt!
Equipment is old and needs to be updated but is still by far the better of all the gyms in Pensacola. Especially the atmosphere!! Staff very friendly
Excellent gym, great staff, machines and hours.
Great gym. All the equipment to get a good work out and friendly helpful staff.
Best weight lifting/cardio gym in Pensacola. Rarely have to weight for machines, unless in peak hours. Super clean, organized, etc. Staff is very kind. 2 deadlift platforms, 3 squat racks, I think 3 benches, and dozens of other machines spread around. Theyve also added to what they already have in the 2 months Ive been here. This place is definitely not a Planet fitness lol
Great gym and great equipment. They have everything you need for all fitness goals. However, there always seems to be a misunderstanding with billing, and cancellation. General Managers are completely rude and obnoxious about explaining misunderstandings. I loved the gym until the Manager Elizabeth scream at me telling me to pay cancellation fees a few months after my account was confirmed closed by staff. If huge administrave errors do not bother you, sign up!
Very disappointed in this club. My son joined & enjoyed the workouts but when it was time to go off to college, they wouldnt let him out of the yearly contract. Still had to pay for the club even though he would be 7 hours away. What a joke!!
I wouldnt even give this gym a one star but I have no choice. They are the absolute worst gym in the world. I signed a cancellation form and theyve been charging my account for over a year!! They have never notified me that my account was delinquent even after cancelling my membership and now they send me to collections!! Do not go to this gym!! I plan to get a lawyer and sue! Be aware folks! They will take your money and lie and screen calls! Hang up on you and pretend that all staff are managers!!
Very nice gym! My wife loves the classes and the daycare is great too. Pensacola Fitness has it all.
Great place,atmosphere and staff
“NO Rule Policy” I have been a member of this gym for over six years along with four additional family members. There were two main reasons for using Pensacola Fitness as my locat gym of choice.....1)They have a Circuit Machine area with a timer, 2) They have a Sauna. A Circuit Machine Workout using the timer is a health necessity as recommended by my cardiologist. A “Circuit Machine Workout” is typically a timed workout using a timer that will allow you to go from one machine to another performing as many reps as possible on each machine using timer to tell your when to begin and end. The timer allows you a certain length of time to change machines. The idea is to get a compete body workout within a certain length of time, going as fast a your body will allow. Within the past 1 1/2 years using the Circuit Area has been impossible due to other members interrupting your workout by using the Circuit Area Machines for normal workout without any regard for members using the timed workout. There are at least two to three workout machines outside the Circuit Area that provide the same results. After presenting the problem to the new owners, I was told that they could not offer any solution to my and my families problem because of the their “No Rule Policy”. They said that their competition had too many rules and they attracted more members by adopting a No Rules Policy. Unless you are prepared to put up with bullying and intimidation in a No Rules environment, avoid this gym.
This gym will take as much money from you as possible with fine print fees. I paid 5 days in advance in cash and apparently thats not soon enough so they double charged me. I also had to pay an extra month on top of my cancelation fee because of this. Not to mention the semi annual fee I got stuck paying because if the extra month! It was $75 I shouldnt have had to pay. You can never get the managers to do anything to help you either. Theyre sweet to your face then do nothing to fix your issue. I then got charged AGAIN this month after I canceled. Had to go to my bank to get the money back. The gym isnt even that great! Gets so overcrowd during the week with people socializing. Classes in the back room during peak hours makes it impossible to get away from the crowds. And half the cardio machines were broken the whole time I was there. Not to mention things take weeks to fix, if ever. But if you like that sort of thing, go on. As far as your wallet is concerned, good luck!
Custom built and power house are two seperate companies. So you cant rate powerhouse based on your personal training company/trainers actions. The gym is gear toward weight lifting. It is a awesome gym! Some of the machines and equipment are close together, but its good for super-sets! Leg equipment is awesome! Management has never messed up on my billing. I have a 15$ a month bill, NO CONTRACT!! This is available for everyone. In my opinion there are two gyms in Pensacola....Powerhouse and omni! Powerhouse has my vote because of the monthly rate and great weight equipment!
Awesome staff! Very helpful! Plenty of equipment! Ive been coming for years and love the gym!
Awesome club! Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend. The BEST in Pensacola!!
Great new staff who obviously put time and effort into running and improving the facility, hours are tough to beat, and has just about all the equipment you could need.
Multiple variations of gym equipment allow plenty of options for each muscle exercise, if one machine is currently occupied, there is at least 2-3 more other options for the same muscles and this is not including the free weights or body weight options. It appears there are about 40 cardio machines, CrossFit like workout room, group exercise class room, sauna in restroom, 2 tanning beds and a protein snack and drink store. Id say for the membership price, this gym is more than you could ask for. For those with kids, they offer a nursery room with video and caretaker. The gym is well kept, as for the bathrooms, you always have a few slobs that trash it up on a daily basis, but cleaned daily. Early mornings never to busy 10-12 people on average.New owners must be doing a better job than the old reviews.2-thumbs up Pensacola Fitness!
Best fitness club in Pensacola area!
This is a great gym!
Filthy smelly gym with broken workout equipment, water fountains and a careless staff that does nothing to make the gym enjoyable. Has gone way downhill since the staff from Omni took over and brought their care free lazy work ethics! STAY AWAY!!
This place is total beast mode EVERYDAY!! How could you go to any other gym and get the motivation you need. Unless your motivation comes from Donuts and cheese pizza
I am editing my previous review to reflect some updates in the customer service, with which I am very pleased. In my previous review, I had some discrepancies with the level of customer service I felt I had received when trying to cancel my gym membership prior to moving for military orders. After posting my initial review, I received a call from the manager, Chrissy, who explained the situation to me and was happy to make accommodations to ensure a smooth military relocation and cancellation of contract. I was previously upset that I was going to be charged an additional months membership fee because I had cancelled on the 30th day prior to my next bill date, but she was very flexible and allowed me to avoid paying for time that I would not be living in Pensacola. Her willingness to be flexible and entertain the concerns of her members (especially military due to their unpredictable relocation schedule) is greatly appreciated.Pros:-The only gym I could find with adequate equipment for any average weight lifter (i.e. free barbells, etc.). Unfortunately they do not have rubber weights, but they do have a deadlift platform and plenty of pull-up bars and a weighted sled.-Central location-Recently changed to having very accommodating hours.-I enjoyed conversing with some of the members.-Good pricing. Ensure you ask about all available contracts.-Plenty of space; never felt overcrowded, even on busy days.Cons:-Some equipment has been broken for long periods of time.-Some members will spend excessive amounts of time on the squat racks, making them difficult to access during a standard workout time frame.
Great place just needs to be really open 24 hrs a day.
The negative reviews are really frustrating to me. This gym has been expanded, has evolved, and has really sweet new owners who seem to care a lot about their members. There aaaree general rules posted for cautious, cleanliness, and such, despite what another commenter has said. This gym can be intimidating, as there are so many competitors who work out here, DUE TO THE FACT that it’s one of the best gyms in town! So much equipment, a huge variety, more space than most, etc. of course this is where they work out, and while I 100% believe everyone should always be kind, other people aren’t at the gym to coddle your insecurities. I’ve seen all body types here, so if you choose to focus on people “fitter” than you and decide to vilanize them rather than use them for inspiration, that’s not their fault. The gym is hugely affordable, and I believe management does their best to meet everyone’s needs.
I’ve been a member for 15 years great place!
Terrible gym. Terrible staff. BS $40 random fees. Dont waste your time or money.
Overcrowded, staff doesnt care! And they make you jump through hoops to cancel your membership so they can blatantly take your money! As you can clearly read in the very few reviews this companies ideology is that they are going to make their money off screwing over people who try to cancel their memberships! I cancelled my membership months ago and had gotten charged 69.00 fee and 2 days later the membership fee. So I had to cancel my debit card and have to go to my bank file file fraudulent charges to get my money back! I knew the company was B.S. when they made me go from Omni to that place without giving me the option out they just took my account and said your coming with me!
I love it here at this place it is an amazing place to train, the staff and the atmosphere is just great. if you dont believe me just stop in and see for yourself.
Ive been coming to this gym ever since I moved to Pensacola about 3 years ago and absolutely love it. It has changed hands I think 2 times but the new management really takes care of it and hire great front desk associates. They have updated a lot of the equipment and I know that my membership dues are going to improvements as they have added numerous pieces since they took over. Some people have complained about intimidation from other members but I have experienced nothing of the sort, in fact every person has been approachable (not in a interrupt your workout kind of way) and encouraging. I tend to keep to myself, and while it does get busy sometimes every person that Ive asked to work in a set between theirs has allowed me to do such. Theyve also started selling supplements and merchandise and their prices are very fair. Even if the prices were a little higher than what I could find online I know any extra revenue generated would go to the gym.I recommend this gym to everyone, whether you are experienced or a newby thanks to the welcoming atmosphere the staff provides.
Annoying gym with no etiquette. Bathroom always dirty. Staff cleans in odd way for a gym and during peak hours -move dust on the floor with a small leaf blower, mop and leave floor saturated, leave exterior doors open on cold days. They have decent equipment. There are a few bad members. Overall what can you do, there is no La Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness.
Love it! I wish they offered workout program for kids!
Worst gym ever. Dont go here! And its not 24 hours like they advertise. Dude at the front counter said he was the manager, who he was not! He was extremely rude when I inquired about a billing issue. I left, and followed the mass exodus to Planet Fitness....
Best gym in pensacola great people friendly staff highly recommend to anyone
The gym itself is pretty nice, there are always enough free weights to go around and always cardio machines open, even with as many members they have. They had a few cable machines break as well as a few cardio machines, all were fixed within a week of breaking. When I joined in March their tanning beds were sub-par with missing bulbs/dirty rooms. Since then they replaced almost all of the bulbs which is great but the beds and the rooms they are in dont have a feeling of cleanliness. Ive never seen any area a complete disaster but from time to time people do leave their weights around, something pretty normal. All the employees are really nice, they call you by name, though at times I feel like they have too many of them all just standing around not doing much. Would rather see the gym money used elsewhere. Also to the last review, gym contracts are pretty slimy in general. They have membership plans where you dont have to sign a contact and can just go month by month.Overall good gym, respectful members, nice employees.
Love this place! their child-care is great too!
Id actually give this 4.5 stars. That said, I think the place is misnamed. This isnt a health club and it really isnt a fitness center. Its an old-fashioned weight-lifting gym. If you evaluate your gyms based on aesthetics, how nice the locker rooms are, and what kind of classes are offered, this probably isnt your place. If you want plenty of olympic bars, free weights, benches, dumbbells, power racks, cable machines, and such, this is by far the best place in town -- and I would venture that its also the best bang-for-your-buck available. They even have equipment for sprinting, prowler-based workouts, and plyometrics. And, yes, they have plenty of nautilus and hammer-strength type machines, too. When you walk in, youll know youre in the right place, because 3 out of 4 guys you see are seriously muscled up / jacked / swol / whatever you want to call it. Even better, all of those people are incredibly nice. Gym etiquette is commonly observed. Everybody is there to train, and the age rage is pretty broad, from college age to seniors. Great people all-around.So why not five stars? A couple of downsides:1) I think the ownership takes a bit of a slack-ass attitude towards maintenance, IMO. In the back room -- typically used for deadlifts and power cleans -- the bumper plates have needed replacing for the last year and, despite numerous complaints, no new ones have arrived. When a cooler on the water fountain goes out, its not uncommon for it to take a month to get fixed. These arent the only maintenance issues, but they are kind of representative of maintenance stuff that goes untended or is only slowly addressed. I think things are getting better in this area, but it is what it is.2) There are only two power racks, when there really should be at least three, if not four. At the same time, there are something like four or five smith machines. This is pretty stupid, IMO. Owners really need to trade out a smith machine for an extra power rack. For a strength-focused black-iron gym, two racks is too few, and its not uncommon to have people lined up to do squats when its crowded. On the one hand, this is great -- people at this gym are doing real training -- on the other hand, an extra power rack really is needed.
