I was chasing a reduced power mode / check engine light issue for over 1 year in my 2004 Silverado. I’ve changed almost everything related to the issue and still couldn’t fix . Mike at r and a took my car in, had it for a couple weeks, tested everything I installed, drove it, checked every wire in and out and found the issue. Kept checking in on me every couple weeks to make sure it didn’t come back on until he was sure it was 100% fixed and I was happy. Highly recommended .. great service and quality work.

Honest mechanics are tough to find and if you are looking for a new one, look no further. I brought my car in for two issues; a vapor leak code and it pulling to the left despite new tires and 2 other mechanics giving it a look. Turns out I had a seized caliber which was corrected. The vapor code was cleared but came back despite a hose fix. Unfortunately only the dealerships carry a certain tool needed to troubleshoot my issue and the folks here offered to refund me a portion of my bill for not being to fix the issue in its entirety.

I honestly have nothing but great things to say about R&A automotive, especially Mike, for taking the time out of his day to address some issues Ive been having with a new car I purchased. Mike went above and beyond and was kind and patient about the entire issue. So, thank you! Highly recommend.

It was easy for me to schedule an appointment for some routine maintenance. Quick and painless drop off and pick up. Mike was professional and my ride feels nicer than it did when I dropped it off. Great value for the money, too!

I have used R&A twice for repairs to my car. The first was a break job and the second was an exhaust pipe issue. The break job was done quickly and at a fair price. The exhaust pipe job was one that the dealership quoted nearly 3x higher. R&A was able to diagnose the issue, custom make a pipe that repaired the loud rumble sound, and get my car back to me in less than 24 hours. All of this for 1/3 the cost of the dealership.We also go there weekly for gas and have always had friendly service. I highly recommend R&A.

The have been servicing all my vehicles for years, always honest with outstanding service. I also purchased cars from them with great satisfaction. I will always take my cars and trucks for repairs and checks knowing they fix what I need. I used to do my own brakes and other small repairs, but since R and A came to Peabody I dont have to do any repairs anymore.

100% recommend R & A automotive. My check engine light came on and come to find l out my current shop had closed. I gave these guys a call and I had my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee fixed within 2 days. Great company! My truck went right into the shop and everything was speedy in repairs and modifications! All the staff is very knowledgeable about all our family cars. I cant say enough about how honest, fast, and responsive they are. Michael helped out my family with a flat tire - fastest, easiest fix ever. As a woman, I hate going to new places to get my car fixed because you never know what kind character youre going to get. He was clean cut, so polite and trustworthy. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

R&A Automotive...... What can I say? ...It was the middle of a snow storm, my wifes car had failed to start the night before in a parking lot. The next day I walk into your shop frazzled, at a loss at what to do next.I tinker with cars but was unable to find the fault in starting, and you folks calmly looked at me and said, give us a few minutes to clean off the tow trunk and well go and get it.A day later the car is repaired and is as good as new! Confidence in the car restored.Just so the world knows, this is not the first time R&A has been extraordinary in their ability to help, what it does prove to us and to anyone who reads this, is that they are a family and their customers are too! I purchased a 2008 Jeep Liberty off of their lot. When I first drove it off of the lot the tire pressure sensor was on. I was told that the sensor was broken and needed to be replaced. I brought the car in the flowing Saturday for repair. A week later the light was back on. Didn’t bother contacting them again for the repair. 8 months later the engine blew and I’m out $9,500. This was a vehicle with 75k miles on it. Everywhere I drove was within 6 miles of my home. My mechanic says that engines problem wasn’t new, and that it had previously been worked on for band aid fixes. Extremely dissapointed and frustrated.

This was by far the best car buying experience Ive ever had. Anthony is very knowledgeable and upfront when it comes to the vehicles on his lot. A true professional, in other words. No problem whatsoever test driving a couple of vehicles. All the cars I considered were right priced -- so no haggling was needed. CarFax report was right there on the dash of the car I wanted, so I didnt need to twist their arms for those details. I dealt primarily with Anthony and also with Joe -- they certainly went the extra mile and I like the fact that they dont agitate you with unnecessary doc fees. Im looking forward to keeping my car in top shape by servicing it there!

If your looking for a short two word explanation for what R&A stands for then that word would be astonishingly professional. But if you really want to know how real these guys are then listen and trust me. First off let me start of by saying that the quality of service with the guys at R&A is superb to any auto mechanic that I personally have ever had to encounter. They truly made me feel like I was part of their family and made the whole situation on my car stress free. I personally drive a Mercedes and Its ridiculous how much the dealership or even independent mechanics charge me for something as simple as a oil change. So I said enough is enough and since I live a couple minutes from the shop I decided to stop by and get my cars periodic maintaince done there. The owner and staff treat you with respect and perform great quality service. In fact I know that the service here is better than that of the dealership and its because the owner and sons have been in business for 50+ years and take pride in there work. You really can sense it just talking to these guys. They truly are not your average mechanics. I honestly am beyond happy expecialy having gone through people who have tried to rip me off.

I have had my car serviced here for many years and I am always satisfied with the work done.

Two awful experiences here in the past. Dishonesty and taking advantage of people. First experience was with a car getting fixed while in high school. Had a slapping noise while accelerating from under car. They said ok np then fixed it for 1800. After all that all I drove out the parking lot and noise was still there. Owner then said that the part they needed wasnt made my manufacture and that car was basically totalled. Offered to buy ot off me for $200. Crook! Years later I decide to get gas from them for my dirt bike.. It was a 2 stroke so needed exact ratio of gas in container to mix with oil. Got 4 gallons and needed 4.3. Made me do the extra .3 gallons in a separate transaction. Then charged me 3$ for not even half a gallon! Gave place a second chance and now this place was crooked me out of $1,803. Hate this shady business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I had an extremely postive results from these great folks. I was very stuck with a serious brake problem. They came, towed my car, repaired all the problems in short period of time. They explained the issues, gave me a fair price, and a satisfactory result. On top of excellent best practice operation of their repair company, they were very friendly, and freely offered additional advice to pay attention to certian upcoming issues. All and all I was happy and relieved to have a safe car back. BRavo

I had my fuel pump replaced at this establishment. I was over charged for a OEM new fuel pump and over charged for labor. I brought the vehicle back TWICE!, after the repair because the fuel gauge was not working. I was told that the gauge cluster was not working and that it had nothing to do with the newly installed fuel pump. I kept mileage records on the odometer so I would know when to fill up with gas since I did not want to spend the money for a new gauge cluster. After less than 30,000 miles the new fuel pump stopped working and left me stranded on a highway bridge. I had the car towed to a reputable AAA repair garage where the mechanic had to replace the fuel pump again. He showed me the pump that R&A had installed and told me that it was a cheap Chinese aftermarket knockoff pump. I had the car repaired with a OEM pump at a much more reasonable cost by the AAA garage. I then went back to R&A with the old pump to resolve the issue. The two owners, father and son would not own up to anything and displayed threatening behavior. I had no choice but to leave to avoid further conflict without resolving anything with this disreputable garage. Oh, and additionally, my fuel gauge has been working perfectly since the new OEM fuel pump assembly was installed by the AAA garage.
