Didn’t realize mufflers had drain holes. Was told typically they’re on the side, but mine were underneath resembling rock chips. No charge and learned something new. I appreciate the honesty.
They are the very best here, travel from moval because you wont find a more honest shop than advanced. MARIO is the best!
This is the only place in Pasadena that I would recommend for any type of exhaust work. Prices and service are outstanding.
They were asked to look over and fix a van before we drove it across the country. They charged for things they did NOT FIX.They padded the bill basically. It was a sham job. We got a second opinion and a third opinion on some of the items. We have to pay someone else to fix things they said they fixed.Really sad that they run their business like this. They take advantage of old people. Our maker sees all things! God help you Mario!
Kirk is the best muffler guy in SoCal by far! Mercedes Benz or Ford Bronco or 1920s antique, he does it all to perfection! You will find many vintage muscle cars here for exhausts.
Curt put some new mufflers on my 66 Lemans. Did a great job at a very reasonable price. Five stars.
Does all kinds of really nice custom exhaust
Just visited but they were very friendly and helped me on my problem
I brought my M3 here after an exhaust mishap where the clamp was rusted and failed which caused my exhaust to fall on my way to school. Keep in mind this was about 8:00. Our body shop referred me to Kirk and I arrived about 8:50 after my car was towed.First things first, Kirk prioritized my car and was 100% committed to getting me back on the road. He ended up having a spare clamp and he got it welded on and fitted within 20 minutes. By the the time is was 9:30 my car was off the lift and we were ready to go.Bottom line the Kirk and his team know exactly what they’re doing. They know their way around all kinds of cars and even have some pretty cool projects that are going on. 100% would recommend to anyone especially teens of my age due to the fair pricing.
I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation. The store is not glamorous, and operations appear rather old-school. You wont have a comfortable place to sit or do work from. However, you will have an honest and transparent level of communication toward your repair/service (and thats enough of a rarity to make this place absolutely worth it!).What happened:I walked in and requested a quote; I provided Firestones quote for front and back brakes (and rotars). I wanted to know if it was fair. As someone who doesnt know enough about cars, Im an easy target at high risk of getting screwed-over.Kirk (the store owner) provided a complimentary inspection and concluded:Theres 25% life left on my front brakes & 75% life left on the rear brakes. He suggested a new axel (~ $300 cost with parts and labor), and that this could be done the same time as the front brakes, explaining the front brakes may have up to 10,000-15,000 miles left on them. He did not recommend getting the repair Firestone suggested and quoted.Im indebted to Kirk for his time, and his radically honest recommendation (which didnt lead to a sale in the short-term). Im also grateful for his level of consideration for my time and wait -- which he communicated without my asking. Ill be back again!
The Three Men that run this establishment are forthright and honest. They work hard to do the repairs right at the lowest cost.I have sent many cars here over the years with no regrets. But, you just cant please everybody.Dougie
Ask for Kirk! This is the best place to get your muffler work done. Quick, fast, clean and fair priced! Extremely knowledgeable staff can help you work through any problem.
Great shop fast service good prices Im Richie owner of J&R AUTO all my exaust work goes to Advanced Muffler cant find a better shop for exaust work
Had been told by the dealer that I needed a laundry list of things done to my car, brought it in here - they slashed 4 items off the list and charged me less than half of what the dealer wanted to charge. Recommended my many and I can see why. Fixed my car earlier this year as well to my satisfaction.
Kirk is the exhaust man. He is full of good info and tells it like it is. I was willing to have a lot of work done for a fancy set up and he made some very valid points on how I should just do something simple. I am very pleased with his knowledge and the speed at which he accomplished the task.
Was a poor experience. First did the wrong work, then asked him to do the right work (oddly enough other guy in the shop told muffler guy that he was pretty sure I meant to do something else). Then he called me after having done the wrong thing. Of course I politely asked for the work and tried to rephrase so he understood. He reluctantly did it. But then when I checked afterwards he didnt bother welding the muffler on. He left a big hole. He was to lazy to properly weld the pipe. Pic attached
Kirk was honest, good sense of humor, & excellent customer service. Also gave me the best deal in town for parts/labor on a catalytic converter install on my obs 4x4.
The guys at Advance are the kind of mechanics that you want: smart, practical, and honest. They dont look for something to fix: they tell you when your vehicle needs something; and if it does, their work will be clean and cost-effective. Thats probably the reason why my mechanic of 18 years still recommends them.Todays visit (which ended without any work done) reconfirmed my positive experiences from previous years/vehicles. Highly recommended!
Kirk is the man. He Cared for my car as much as I do. Honest and trustworthy. They can have my business anytime. Really good work.
Great people great work had two exhaust systems done there great prices would reconend to all.
Kirk and Mario are, without a doubt two of the most knowledgeable and honest mechanics I have ever met. I was recommended by a friend who has known Kirk for many years. My car, a 74 MGB needed some tender loving care with a serious exhaust leak ( at least thats what I thought it was)....Kirk correctly diagnosed the problem in a matter of seconds. New gaskets and a darn good clean up solved the leaking oil problem. The car runs like new, thanks to the care and professional attention to detail that Mario and Kirk obviously swear by! Damn good people, fair and honest prices!
Always have done great work. Thank you
Great mechanics. Good work with fair pricing. These guys know their cars
Kirk was great, I took in my 71 Datsun 510 for a new exhaust and he already knew how it gets routed and was familiar with the car before he even looked under.. Thank you.
Good people. Old fashion effective & experienced muffler shop
Kurt and Mario are great guys. Best muffler shop in Pasadena.

Great place to get your car repaired or a new mufflerp
Good bunch of folks, honesty. Good mechanics and a great muffler shop.
Always great work and a friendly people there.
Best place to have your car fixed honest
People say that you cant find an honest auto mechanic.Let me tell you a story. My wifes PT Cruiser broke down in front of our house in Pasadena several years ago, so to avoid excessive towing charges, I took it to the little auto shop on the corner. Since they fixed the problem in less than twenty-four hours and didnt charge too much, I continued to take it there for routine scheduled maintenance - oil and filter changes, bulb replacement, and brake pads and rotors as needed.Three months ago, I pulled in to the shop, and asked Mario, the head mechanic, to look into a squeak coming from the right front wheel. I assumed that the car needed new brake pads, and I was prepared to pay for them. Mario asked one of the young mechanics to stop what he was doing and check it out, so he removed the wheel and found a chunk of plastic I mustve picked up driving on the freeway,. It was wedged inside, pressing against the drum. He removed it, blew out the dust and dirt, replaced the wheel, and told me the brake pads had another couple of months left on them, that nothing else was wrong. He wouldnt accept payment for pulling the wheel, removing the plastic, or checking my brake pads.I wouldnt take the car anywhere else.
Kurk took very good care of my car..
Very honest
Great guys
Mario is excellent!
