It’s too bad more happy people don’t look to do reviews…I was with my friend having coffee telling him how much I love my new place renting from VRent and he asked me did I see the reviews? I did not and was surprised to read some of these experiences. I have had nothing but positive A+ experiences with everyone from the leasing agent to accounting team to maintenance and the owner. If they charge me for cleaning and repairs beyond normal wear and tear when I move out I am ok with that as their rents are very reasonable. I even got two months free- pretty sweet!!!
I called. Left message they never called back
Worst property management team in the valley. You should be a person with no self-esteem at all to be living at Vrents properties.Property is dirty as hell and if you send a maintenance request, it will take weeks to fix the problem (if it ever gets fixed). You will be bombarded with notices for trivial reasons. You will never receive your deposit back. The only customers Vrent has are those who don’t read reviews.
Avoid. Worst management and terrible service ...
They seem to enjoy threatening to evict you in three days with no warning. Youll get a letter drafted by a lawyer, handed to you by a maintenance guy, and then learn that your rent check is a few days late or they dont like something you did that wasnt even prohibited by your lease. The employees are friendly but the owner just cashes checks and threatens people. They wouldnt email me a copy of the lease so I could read it over first, that was my first warning sign. They wouldnt put *any* insulation in my unit, it got so cold during the winter and hot during the summer (check or ask if the units have insulation). The attic was completely empty, just bare wood. Im sure there are many, many better vacant units available at this point.
Preliminary walk through before leaving, a Vrent guy told us there was no major issues. After we moved out, we received a bill of $4800 saying we the wood floor needed restoration. Totally unacceptable!
Four years and counting: Every month paid on time. Minimal maintenance requests. Always notify them of facility issues (entry door to building fell off its hinges). No music and no bass. No smelly food. No trash. Near perfect renter. There are lots of silverfish -- but I like them. When they get trapped in the tub I scoop them out like a Buddist would and put them back outside. I would not want pesticides sprayed anyways.
The management is not good at providing service. The bathtub didnt had a proper slope which resulted in water getting logged. This was never fixed and I was forced to vacate.
Nonstop construction for months on end. Water shut off with no notice. Infested with silverfish bugs and occasional spiders. Management doesn’t treat tenants like people. Takes weeks or months for simple maintenance requests. Very thin walls, can hear downstairs neighbors walking on the laminate floors. We are constantly in contact with them because of one issue or another, makes for a stressful living situation. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to stay.
We were there consulting something about the rent contract, an old men which was called as manager came and yelling at us as “ This is the rule, that is it! We don’t have time waste on this, she has work to do!!”. We was talking nicely with a young lady at that time and he just like went crazy for no reasons. I said “Answering our question is part of her job!”. Then he just left. I thought he acted like that maybe because we are Chinese people and we are more likely to be bullies. If I can do zero star, I definitely will do that. This place is terrible.
Rented from this management company for 2 years (but have had friends who rented from them for 5+). Overall, a very unresponsive landlord focused on $ and not quality of life. Recommendation: avoid
They took five years to replace a leaking window and damaged my sofa when they did (and never followed up.). The repairmen came to fix the shower and broke the towel rack. They disconnected my bathroom heater/fan which hadnt worked in six months and neither repaired nor replaced it. The one washing machine was out of service for two months. The kitchen caninets etc. and bathroom vanity are from the 70s. The company is unrepsonsive with a lack of interest in keeping long-term tenants. The local person is nice but decisions are made in Palo Alto, where no one cares if you stay or leave. They’d rather have empty units than happy tenants. Hope to relocate at the end of my lease. Also, by the way, I had a $200/mo rent hike one year. Not awesome.
Management is unresponsive and will brandish policy over common sense and compassion.Avoid if you can. Prices are market value but service is atrocious.
I have not dealt with this site or the company, nor visited it. (I must have been near it sometime recently. The 3-stars rating is arbitrary.)
Terrible management, slow or no fixes on maintenance issues, and overall the building is a bad shape and condition. I do not recommend moving here. I expect they wont return any of my deposit back, but if theyre fair and do, Ill leave with a more optimistic experience and review. My last maintenance request was to fix my door lock, and it was never fixed for 4 months.
Obviously, the most convenient way to manage an apartment is to throw all responsibilities to tenants. Since all the tricks are on the lease, they can do whatever they want to be lazy in terms of managing.
In a nutshell: stay away from these peopleI rented a studio in Menlo Park from Vittoria Management because it was close to Stanford campus where I studied. When I found their ad on craigslist it said that the studio had a parking. When their agent showed me the studio for the first time I confirmed with her that the studio had a parking. After I signed the contracts and moved in, after a few days the neighbor in the apartment next door told me not to park my car is her spot. I went to Vittoria and asked them which parking spot I should use and they told me to use whatever spot is empty until they decide on my permanent spot. After 2 or 3 weeks they sent me a letter that they had decided that I didnt have a parking spot and I shouldnt park my car there!!!! So I complained and said when I saw the place I was told that it came with a parking. They denied it at first. I had a copy of their ad in my email account, so when I showed them the ad that in 2 different places said the studio had a parking, they said that was a mistake!!!! So they asked me that I had to pay $50 extra each month to use the parking. As for maintenance, I had a leak from bathroom sink problem. After reporting it 3 times and calling them multiple times, they showed up after almost a month. They checked the sink and told me they needed to get some stuff and would be back in one hour. After keeping me for 4 or 5 hours in the apartment and after I called them several times, they said that they wouldnt be coming back that day.I lived in that studio apartment for 4 years. Last year they raised my rent from $1000 to $1295 (month to month payment) and two months ago they sent me another letter to raise it to $1495 (~$1,500) for a studio. So they raised my rent by about 50% in about a year. So I vacated the place. When I left the place I cleaned the place completely, like new. I even went to Home Depot and bought a new set of 4 drip pans for ~ $15 and replaced the drip pans. Today I received the refund check for my security deposit. They have deducted $320 from my deposit: $110 for cleaning services, $85 for carpet cleaning, $75 for roll all walls, $30 for roll walls bathroom and worst of all $20 for 4 drip pans (each $5). I had already placed new drip pans from Home Depot and they charged me $20 for what? Isnt this fraud? Can you imagine how upset I am? If you think whether I can fight this and get them into serious trouble please let me know. I dont care about the $20, I care about somehow making it difficult for them to continue their way of making money. As you can see from other reviews, Im not the only one with bad experience with them. Im pretty sure I can ask Home Depot to give me a copy of the receipt for the drip pans. I have a picture of the oven/drip pans when I left the house. You can see that the drip pans are shiny and new and I think I can prove the $20 they charged me was absolutely untrue, so if you know a good way for me to complain about them, please let me know.
We rented an apartment owned and managed by Vittoria in Carmel, CA. Managed with a qualifier. They do not care about their tenants. Our apartment was infested with silverfish from Day 1. They crawled through clothes, silverware, bedding, and Vittoria did nothing about it except send a guy to spray it with Raid. We paid out of our own pocket for an exterminator, but the entire building was so infested, spraying one unit was futile. He went back twice, and there were still silverfish. This was on the corner of 5th and Junipero, nice location, next to motels. Vittoria was so chintzy they werent willing to pay an exterminator to even provide an ESTIMATE to fumigate the building because it might cost $50 (actually, it would have been gratis). Needless to say, we moved out before the lease expired. And of course, Vittoria charged for every nickel and dime they could legally get away with from the damage deposit. We knew that Vittoria had a terrible reputation before moving there, but bug infestation didnt occur to us. I admit, we were suckers. The question is, if you are considering doing business with these people, are you suckers, too?
