We stayed in an amazing house in Palm Springs managed by Altamira. Everything was absolute perfection about our stay. The place was immaculate and the grounds were beautifully maintained. They heated the pool in advance of our stay so we could jump right in upon our arrival. They let us check in early because they knew we were driving in earlier and the house was ready. They were delightful, responsive and fun on all of our phone interactions. We really couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend renting vacation homes from Altamira.
Watch out for these guys. If you can avoid this company I suggest that you do so. I’m not sure whether I got bait and switched or Altamira Vacation rental was really being truthful. Either way all these thoughts are going through my mind while trying to enjoy what was left from our family vacation. All weekend long!!! We originally reserved a much nicer, newer, revamped property with amazing pool, and great play area for the kids in the backyard (over 30 days advance). On the day of check in, about 5 hours before check in to be exact, I got a call from Altamira Vacations telling me that they can not give me the house because of some electrical issues. In stead they offered a different house similar size. This house I’m writing the review on. All of this is happening 5 hours before check in!!!! My family and I are half way to palm springs at this point. They emailed pictures on this house to check out. Although this house was still nice and similar size it just didn’t compare to what we had originally signed up for. We pulled of the Hwy to go over all our options. I tried looking for other bookings, since it was so last min we couldn’t find anything available that would serve our needs. So with no other Availabilities and half way to our vacation destination I had no choice but to take what they’re offering. I asked the Representative to at least give us some kind or refund since we’re not getting the house we originally reserved. They didn’t want to budge. His respond was basically take what I’m giving you or cancel your stay and we’ll refund you the money. I went back of Airbnb noticed the replacement property was actually listed cheaper, and only then he was willing to refund us the difference in booking rate nothing extra for ruining our vacation. Send us a new contract to sign for the property and fill out the paper work all over again. After about 1 hour and major disappointment we are back on the road to Palm Springs. We checked in at 4 PM on Thursday and honestly I couldn’t wait till Sunday 10am to check out. The replacement property was Nice and It had a really good size pool but it wasn’t as clean as the original one we reserved. Ceilings had noticeable cracks,some of the lightbulbs burnt out in the kitchen, Internet kept on disconnecting and coming back. Way too many remotes in house. Just the living room tv had 4 different remotes plus 6-8 other remote for Ceiling fans, shades and outdoor lights. Now a days you get one universal and you can manage all. Like is said it’s was outdated. I wish I could say more positive things about our vacation but it was a disaster after the phone call we got. I now wish I canceled and planned something different at a later date. I know for sure that Altamira is on my black list from now on. Oh and also they didn’t even fully refund my account for the rate difference. Now have to waist more of my time to see what’s going on with that. For sure I’m never again booking with these guys. They Took full advantage of us.
I love Altamira! They represent great properties in Palm Springs. Our friends rented a property they manage and they were very responsive for questions at any time. Also very helpful about questions before renting as well. Cant wait to go back to one of the properties they manage.
They dont even deserve one star. I called Altamiras office to inquire about a vacation rental property. They told me to fill out an inquiry online, including form of payment, before I can review and sign the rental agreement. I received the rental agreement with property address the next day. I did a Google search and found out the deluxe property is located across the street from a trailer park and without secure parking. Terms and conditions of the rental agreement were also unacceptable, and I refused to sign the agreement. Altamira charged my credit card $1000 as a cancellation penalty. They are claiming that my online inquiry was an agreement. They lack essential customer service skills. So not happy right now. We were choosing between 2 homes, chose one of Altamiras, paid, and then they came back and said they have a 5 night min (we booked a 4 night stay online), I said ok fine, we will step up and do that, and they said Oh sorry, we already gave the rental to someone else. I also lost the other rental I was choosing between because I was waiting on Altamira to get back to me about theirs. So now we have plane tickets to Palm Springs and no rental. 3 kids, 2 adults, and no place to go. They blamed this all on Air B & B, which is total BS. Be cautious, this is a bad biz practice. I do not recommend you work with this outfit, I would never treat a paying guest this way.
This company has more properties than they can manage well. They are reactive to property issues, not proactive. Avoid their rentals. They have an excuse for everything!

We were forced to cancel our rental to come out and visit our daughter due to COVID 19 back in March. We were trying to reschedule sometime in November and were trying to use our money that we had already paid for another one of their properties. They were very rude and said that no, it was only applicable for the one house. We are in the hospitality business and we can always switch clients to other homes if available. Very sad that they could have cared less about our family and refused to help us. I would NOT recommend this company!
They were so great to work with! Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, professional and very helpful. I would highly recommend renting from them!
We own a vacation rental being managed by Altamira! Bought it in May. This property on boarding is being handled by a Simon Lee. Great guy, incredible knowledge of the PS market. Simons expertise will certainly translate into high gross rent. Thx Simon!
After a wonderful week in Palm Springs in the most terrific house rented from Altamira Vacation Rentals, we just cant wait to come back, thank you for giving us our dream vacation.

What a nightmare l.. avoid at all costs, we booked a house from them via VRBO, got a confirmation and was charged 3k for it.. then 16 hours later I get an email saying our booking has been canceled due to an error.. well we booked flight tickets and bought Coachella tickets based on our confirmation and now my bank account has a 3k charge I need to deal with... unreal
