Perfect weekend getaway from the kids! The sun was hot, the pools refreshing, the music chill, and the drinks were cold, strong, and delicious. The rooms were nice and spacious. You could communicate with the friendly staff via texting, including ordering food/drinks to be delivered to your lounge chair! If youre looking for a great spot to get away, want a cool vibe, delicious cocktails, and to just chill by a pool with a beach-read for a few days - this is a great place for it.
Amazing for a Romantic Getaway. Private and Serene. Would love to experience this with My Future Husband David.
Beds: Beyond comfortable. Pool/Grounds: lovely. Why I chose this place! Pool Bar: Happy Hour! Food is great & so are drinks. Free Breakfast here? Sucks. Bar Recommendations: Do Not Bother w/ Bootlegger. Tonga Hut is welcoming, fun (and above all) offers better cocktails. Please, dont waste your time... go to Tonga for drinks. Overall lovely hotel for truly posh/peaceful get-away. I would venture here again from the East Coast just to spend time here.PS You get a shot upon check-in.Also, make sure you verify photo of your potential room with hotel.
Adorable, chic, quaint, I highly recommend this place of looking to escape and relax, such a mellow environment. Great decor down to every little detail. Front desk staff member was a joy, extremely positive, polite, a true asset to the hotel I cant praise her enough. My favorite part is the fact that they offer you a drink at check in to start your vacation off right. This really is an Adorable hidden treasure .
Luxurious, personal and a paradise. If the mosquitoes didnt bite me up our stay would have been perfect. Rooms are wonderful and the pool open 24 hours a day was wonderful. (The two we tried.) Everything was wonderful. They even have a world class bar. Finally the staff was respectful and of service. Great job!
Love the remodel, really brings the place to present time. Room was smaller than one in pictures but I guess anyone would choose pics that look best to display in any situation. Despite the smaller room, really enjoyed time here. The decor is tasteful, feels contemporary and modern yet nostalgic at the same time. The bathroom was very nice and spacious. Love the grounds, pools, bar, and landscaping all nice. Definitely wanna spend more time here in the near future.
Best and most relaxing experience. Room was so much more than l had expected. Even better than i had the last time i stayed. The food was great and varied.
Beautifully restored boutique hotel! Each room is unique. Wonderful mountain views and lush landscaping. The Del Rey bar and eatery is a great spot for a well-crafted cocktail and delicious food.
Excellent hotel. Would 100% come back. We stayed here for 3 nights this past April- and was just what we needed. Very relaxing, super comfortable and amazing service, especially from the lovely bartender who was so accommodating and always willing to go above. The perfect getaway- not a rowdy resort, great music and fantastic food and drinks! Not to mention the decor is amazing! See you again soon villa royale!
All around amazing experience. Attentive staff, great music and very cool spaces. Food and drinks were top shelf. Can’t wait to go back.
This hotel and the restaurant located on the premises definitely deserve a 5 star. Its the most unique place in the area. If you want cheap, run of the mill, typical place, then this is not for you. BUT if you want special, historic, character, romance, and something to make an impression, then definitely stay here and try the restaurant. Cant wait to be back there for Valentines Day.
Stayed here with my boyfriend and my sweet Schipperke (dog) on our way to Phoenix for Thanksgiving this year and absolutely loved it! The service was outstanding, beautiful grounds, very much kept to period (I wanted to wear 40s clothes and sip martinis!). The bar/restaurant was an extra touch.
Del Rey lounge is awesome! Cocktails are top notch, food portions are a little small. Overall, AWESOME spot.
Amazing and relaxing place. Super nice and kind staff, and ownership involved in everything, taking care of the guests. Its a small paradise in the desert. Wonderful NYE party, with warmed pool swim :) well done!
Just re-opened after a full remodel and redesign. Best hotel I’ve stayed in Palm Spings. It’s like a private mansion you get to hang out in. Small and intimate but with everything you need. And the best staff you could ask for. Check it out!
The Villa Royale Inn was a perfect place for a relaxing and peaceful getaway weekend. The staff is friendly and the service was great! Our room was right by a pool, had a comfortable bed and plenty of space. I would highly recommend this hotel and will most likely return as a guest.
October 15, 2018:Recent total remodelVery cozy, romantic with private outdoor seating. Offers tapas, cocktails, wine and a very nice menu selection. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with trees, and flowering plants; very romantic for a long stay, overnight or drop in for a cocktail & appetizer.
Loved it. Loved the restaurant there. Jacuzzi right outside my room. Lush landscaping with beautiful gardens every where. Nice inside. Friendly staff.
Everyone was helpful the hotel was beautiful and just far enough out of the way to be quiet!
This was our first time at this property and we visit Palm Springs 2-3 times a year. I have visited PS 30-40 times over my lifetime and stayed in lodging from small boutique to large resorts. Villa Royale is a beautiful property. For a small property, they have created many different areas on the property to enjoy. A central pool anchors the property, with a pool bar, shade and sun seating areas, fireplaces that create ambiance and guest rooms that enclose the pool. A restaurant is conveniently located on property with a full bar and patio dining. A small hot tub is located in a hummingbird garden and there is also a separate fire pit. There is a secondary pool in a far cluster of rooms. We love having bikes available to ride and although the Villa is a few miles from downtown, it is an easy 15 minute ride. You can get to downtown by riding through the neighborhoods and avoid risking your life on 111 on a cruiser. Rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Aesthetically, this is a wonderful place to stay. From a service standpoint, it could do a bit better by helping to encourage late night drinkers to use the restaurant bar and patio or the covered breakfast buffet area to party. Both nights we had loud guests on lounge chairs about 10 feet from our window. We get it and want other guests to have a great time, we also value the ability to sleep. Other small stuff...They do provide a nice breakfast buffet. Sweet rolls, fruit, hard boiled eggs, coffee and tea. If you have special food needs, take some provisions. Whole Foods and Vons is just up the street. The restaurant also serves a breakfast but was between menus, so only offered a selection of toasts (none gluten free)---mostly with cheese or seafood. The complimentary breakfast did not seem a priority as they were out of eggs the first day, out of juice the second day and we watched as guests took the coffee pots up to the restaurant to be refilled. So if you sleep after 8 am, you might have to ask for provisions.Overall staff was very friendly and courteous. When filling a water bottle at the bar before leaving, I was asked how my stay was. Bar staff was very helpful throughout our stay. As was the front desk staff when asked for a softer pillow---he went to housekeeping to check for me which was very kind. One missed opportunity when checking out was that the front desk staff did not ask about our stay nor suggest a return booking. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return to Villa Royale. If you are a light sleeper, request a room not adjacent to the pool, or perhaps at the smaller pool in the back where it may be quieter. Thanks for great stay...
50s 60s deco.... No Decaf... Attitude... Savings grace was the company and event.... Otherwise unspectacular..... Howdy do nothing like...
Relaxing & quiet atmosphere with a wonderful sense of style. Friendly attentive staff with tasty food & drinks!
Kind of got like the hippie vibe but its a nice place pools or heated the bars nice they give you a free drink when you first check in not bad people are very nice
NYE party was a lot of fun. Great drinks in the hidden electric hotel
Agree very nice 4.8 room and 4.9 the food and drinks 5 for sure.
Great little place. Lovely pool. Decor and service.
Tried to give us a small one bedroom room instead of the Villa suite we reserved a month in advance. Said they just use the suite photos for every room. Loud creaking wood frame when heater was on. Fire place was fake with fake wood and unusable. Very disappointing for almost $800.
Im in love with this placeIts the coolest spot in the desert!!!
Let me start out by saying that this is the 4th time we’ve stayed here and my parents have been staying here on their anniversary for the last 10 years. In the past, we have always enjoyed our time here with nice accommodations, good food, and a nice, helpful staff. However, that being said, our last visit here (2/18-2/20) was ruined by an extremely rude, bitter old lady who worked behind the bar. We didn’t catch her name but to make a long story short: we had dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant, Europa at 6:30, so the five of us (myself, my wife, my parents, and our 4 yr old daughter) stopped by the restaurant bar for a drink before dinner, my daughter had juice of course. When we got there, no one was behind the bar to help us, but finally a grizzled, grumpy lady appeared who seemed to be drunk. She didn’t greet us or say a word, but just stared at us. I finally said “Are you the bartender”, and she responded curtly, “No, I’m just talking to you.” Wow, ok - Not off to a good start. We ordered our drinks and were having a good time talking and laughing, then after 5 minutes, the old lady came up and said to my mom “you’re going to have to leave; your grand-daughter is too loud.” Mind you, she wasn’t loud at all; we were much louder, and more importantly, THERE WAS NOT ONE OTHER PERSON IN THE BAR!! Luckily I didn’t hear her say this, or I would have exchanged words with her. My mom was so appalled and shocked she didn’t know how to respond. My mom said we had to go to dinner and that is where she told us the story. On top of that, in regards to the room: there were holes in our towels, the room was dusty, and the bathtub was yellow and disgusting. Needless to say, we will never come back and neither will my parents. We are also instructing our friends and family who have stayed there in the past because of our recommendation, not to stay their either.
Cozy hotel with nice spacious rooms. Pool is nice. Located right across the street from the Ace Hotel.
I came to this place with my 11 year old daughter for a Labor Day weekend getaway. It was very peaceful. I was over powered by the uniqueness of the grounds, so different! Behind the VR is an unimaginable paradise! The down side, they wanted a 100.00 deposit for incidentals but on entrance to the first day of stay my toilet didnt flush (but they called maintenence right away), dead water bugs were on the floor (my daughter and I dont like them) and the frig didnt work all weekend. However, these didnt hamper the stay. We will be back! My daughter says its our little getaway :)
If you like to relax in Palm spring you need to stay here this place its our 5 star I will come back soon
They good job modernizing the place
Always a beautiful experience. Classy, from seating to service to relaxing after dinner with a special desert & port!!!!!
We got the Travelzoo deal and had an awesome dinner. It ended up being pricier than expected but the experience was good
Staff were excellent. Breakfast served at your room. Nice touch!
New in PS. Liked the food. A bit high priced.
If you like unique and quaint this is your spot. If you are looking for upscale and formal, you should probably look elsewhere.
💯Would stay again.
Horrible front desk staff. They seldom even answer the phone. Beware, they offer things they never follow through with.
It could be the next cool thing
Awesome unforgetable
Best place ever!_Elmira
A great place
Nice getaway
Nice place to stay
Beautiful place.
All the reminiscence of Palm Springs in one place
Very nice
We were there in August 2019. Great hotel to relax. Light rain is spread from the roof, so the 45 degrees could be endured. Rooms are very spacious. There was not much going on in our time and you could relax all day long. There is always free water in the hotel area. Free parking is also available.
Lucus pure.
