Tara is such was heartless ghoul and Bauer was impatient with me when my pet was sick and going to die. I fired them all instantly after they would not answer questions as to how my pet died and filed complaint with the state. Will never ever ever go back. Read the review from the person who needed special arrangements to pay her bill, and they were not cooperative. Management has sucked every nickel out of that vet hospital over the last 45 years and never put a nickel back into the facility--other than a coat of paint. Gute owns or did own a 17 stall heated horse barn on a huge farm with all the amenities. A millionaire who cant give a poor patient a break. Disgraceful.

I love the staff and we have received top notch care with our animals. I was heartbroken when it came time to euthanize my dog of 16 years and they (Dr Bauer & Tracy) cared so much not just for my boy but for me just as much. I recommend them 100%! After getting married and moving to the Twin Cities, I still will drive to their caring personalities over other more local vets where I felt like just a number and on to the next case.

The vets here have always been wonderful but I have to say that while dealing with the illness and eventual death of our beloved dog they truly outdid themselves. We received nothing but the most compassionate and respectful care and support. When we are ready to have another dog we will be bringing them here for sure! Special thanks to Dr. Felipe for the personal attention throughout this ordeal.

We see Dr. Bauer. The staff is friendly and compassionate. Over the weekend, we lost our dog. Dr. Bauer and Tracy were there with me through the process and gave me as much time as I need. The compassion and reassurance they showed and gave me that day, will never be forgotten.

Wonderful place to bring animals both big and small! My kitty was limping one morning so I brought him into one of the vet offices up here in the cities, big mistake! I drove all the way down to Owatonna to see for myself how great this place was and I was blown away at the friendly staff and the furry welcome party (clinic cats that the staff have tended to). I knew I could trust this place from the start and Im glad I drove all the way down there to have my cat seen by Dr. Gute and his wonderful staff, I could not have asked for better! Very knowledgeable and very warm hearted!

Owatonna Veterinary Hospital is the only hospital I would consider for the care of my pets. They are friendly, thorough, compassionate and competent. I would recommend, and have, to anyone.

Ever changing times and OVH should be much more understanding that certain clients just can not afford outlandish medical Bills to provide care for a Significantly Loved Companion within a structured persons/familys lifestyle.Im on a very fixed income, had to lay to rest my +17 yr old Golden, then my female went thru depression/loss of Male, having 2 stillborn babies and a major surgery. OVH wouldnt budge nor help with costs, fact bill was +300 over explained price.Only assistance was to allow payments, but max of 3. Terrible and tragic experiences in less than 3 month time frame. I and my family members are still dealing with the great losses. As for me Im hurdling the Depression factor of the loss of my 17yr old son.

I will NEVER return to this vet office. I really like Dr Bauer alot, the other vet not so much. The office manager Tara is heartless when you have to put your fur baby to sleep.

Dr Tami Bauer and all the staff here are just wonderful. Tara, Darci, James, Traci, Penny, Kayla I just love them all..enjoy talking with Dr Gute about horses, but Dr Tami is my primary vet. As a breeder, she listens to my concerns, my opinions with respect and offers great advise. She has done two 5+ hour emergency surgeries on two separate dogs of mine into the wee hours of the morning. I cannot recommend enough. Lynai, Reyahmi Standard Poodles.

Dont get me wrong I LOVE Dr. Bauer and the staff at the clinic however after an experience with dr. Gute where he ripped my poor pups toenail out WITHOUT giving any kind of pain meds first she is now traumatized and has to be sedated to get her toenails clipped as she panics and has SEVERE anxiety which was never an issue prior to her getting her nail brutally removed; which needed to be done I agree after she broke it badly but it should have been done with medicine to relieve some pain. I was in tears after hearing her yelping and crying in pain for the entire 10 minutes it took to remove the nail and stop the bleeding. I was very disappointed with the whole situation and was not even going to be sent home with pain meds for my limping yelping dog until I insisted he do so. Ive always loved Dr Bauer and her compassion for my animals but will NEVER take my dogs to dr. Gute again after the experience we had and the lasting effects my dog has from the emotional trauma. No dog should be treated that way especially since it wasnt an emergency she couldve been given pain meds and waited a bit and then had it removed or even just some numbing cream or lidocaine shot but honestly if I wouldnt get my bail ripped off without pain meds my dog shouldnt either.

Took my dog here 3 times and after refusing to see him I went to another vet in town. Was sent to Rochester to the Emergency Vet Hospital and was told if I had waited another night my puppy (at the time) would have died.

Dr. Bauer and Dr. Gute are the best. Started taking my cats (3) to them about 5 years ago. One of my cats had a acne kind off face condition that the vet I was taking her to had no answers for me as to what to do with it. I could tell it was very painful for my cat. A friend of ours recommended Owatonna vet hospital and even though it was a 20 minute drive for me, I decided to check them out. I was immediately happy with Dr. Gute and Dr. Bauers advise and even though they didnt know what do with the condition right away, they did keep on researching and eventually came up with the right treatment to fix her condition. She is cured of this condition now. I have continued to use them ever since and have been very please with their service and staff. They are the best!
