Finding a vet that loves your fur baby is priceless. Dr.Jill has been my cat’s primary doctor for years. She’s very thorough and takes the time necessary to come up with a care plan as circumstances change with age. All of the staff are always kind and considerate and I appreciate the honesty and transparency of the team. I know that my sweet girl is in good hands when I take her in. It may be pricey compared to other vets but I can’t put a price tag on the wellness and care of my best friend. I wouldn’t take her anywhere else.

Came from our familys cabin in northern mn on a road trip, one of our dogs had a corneal ulcer from getting scratched in the eye so we decided to stop here because of the convenient location. Checking in was very easy and quick, no wait time at all. The staff was extremely friendly and identified the problem of our dogs eye and prescribed medications in no time. Got out of there quick to get to our next destination on time. I cannot stress how friendly and kind the staff was; they even sent us a postcard when we got home! Would highly recommend this place, especially if its on the go!!

Our sweet baby became very ill. We called sevral vets that were to busy to check her out. This was the first to ask what was going on. They got her in right away. As heartbreaking as it is to post our beloved Mila didnt make it. The staff was very empathetic and showed our family great respect and allowed is to grieve privately as she passed away. Thank you for setting our baby from her pain.

I really like Dr Jill . The facilities and the prices are way out of line. They charge for a same day urgent visit. They charge twice the amount of money for prescription drugs. I had a situation where I needed a important immediate PAIN medication for an older dog. I was on vacation and the person in charge was not able to order the med. Saturday afternoon after the clinic closed by 1 hour. I called. WE WERE CHARGED $125.00.FOR AN AFTER HOURS VISIT TO HAVE A VET TECH RUN 15 PILLS TO ME!? Mind you this was for only 15 pills. We paid the same amount for a 30 day supply at another vet. We had a sick dog last August. We were told all blood work was normal. Went to our bank up vet. We had records sent. The vet took one look at those records and said. Wait. This dogs blood work is not normal and he needs additional help. Turns out he had cancer! Again Dr Jill is wonderful and extremely caring. Dr Anna is as well. The facilities not at all. You cant trust what some of the other vets say. They will rake you over for 15 pills. Not a fan of this vet clinic. One other thing that needs mentioning. Be warned on the receptionist that answers the phone. A few have less than professional attitudes and are very rude on the phone. They dont inform you about which clinic they are at on a Saturday.

My local vet clinic referred me to this business for an expensive Insulin, that I needed same day and they didnt carry. I accidentally dropped the newish bottle on the floor that morning. Not a good start to the day. Everything went smoothly until I tried to pick-up the medication. It was the Friday prior to Labor Day weekend. I didnt realize until I was on the road that they closed earlier then I thought. I live in a rural area the clinic is 45 minutes away. I was over half there when I activated google maps and found out I was going to arrive 10 minutes after they closed. I immediately called and reported the problem. The receptionist said that If they are there still there I can get the medication, but there is no guarantee. If we arent, you can always pick it up when we are back on Tuesdays. So 4 days without insulin for my pet.I asked if I can pay for it now and just put it outside the door, so I can pick it up. This is a medication that needs to be refrigerated. So she flatly said NO. In my experience, the vets put a cold pack in the bag with the medication for transport home. I didnt think about that and she didnt even suggested it as a possibility.Basically, the snippy attitude and the unwillingness to problem solve is why Im writing this review. Cant rate the actual vet care and will never go there due to the face of the business was so rigid and not helpful.

I’ve never had someone at a veterinarian clinic complain about their job because of my German Shorthair being hyper. They’re hyper dogs. Not going back. They charged us 30 dollars to clip nails and the reasoning is because they had to add an extra person. The whole thing took 10 min.

Dr. Wildgrube has been my cats vet for years, and I have been consistently pleased with the quality of care and compassion that my cat is given, as well as the quality of information and clarity that I am given. Based on other reviews, it seems that the same can be said for the other vets as well. Every interaction that Ive had with the staff has been pleasant. Though it hopefully wont be applicable in the future, their procedures for maintaining safety during the current health crisis go more smoothly than I wouldve expected, which is a lot more than many other businesses can manage.I moved 45 minutes away and still find it to be worth it to drive a yowling cat to Owatonna to go here. I dont know that Id be able to find anybody as good without putting a lot of time into it.

I just wanted to first mention that I was very reluctant to post a review because I am not someone who likes to be perceived as an angry person -- because thats far from the truth. I even waited a few days to see if I was still going to be upset, and I still am. However, I feel like this review could help someone else. So my apologies that this might be a little long, but I would like to fully explain myself. I just moved to Owatonna back in April, an hour and twenty minutes from my previous vet where my dog has gone for six years. At this previous vet, my cousin worked there as well as many other staff members that my dog knows and loves. It is also important to note that my dog is a German shorthaired pointer. She is a ball of energy with a touch of anxiety, but not aggressive at all. I had been so nervous and apprehensive to go to a new vet, to the point where I was driving back to my old vet just for a $10.00 nail trim. During the pandemic, I was so worried about not being able to go in with her to be a “sense of comfort” since the vet lobbies are closed. A month ago, I took the plunge and tried out a new vet. My dog did wonderful without me, which was very relieving. And I was so glad to find a new vet where the staff were super nice & I felt like my dog was well cared for without me present. This month, however, was not the case. My appointment was at 5:30 PM, which I arrived a few minutes early. It took me a few minutes to get through to the lobby because the line was constantly busy. When I got checked in, there was about a 15 minute wait — where we waited in the car for them to come and get my dog. By this point, my dog is very aware of where we are as she is able to see the dogs going in and out. When it is finally her turn, she goes in with the staff member and returns after ten minutes or so. When they both return, the staff member states, “I think you should try running off your dog’s energy before you come next time. She was very stressed out.” My fiancé and I both explain that we have, and that she is always like this at the vet and that she is a GSP. We walk her and run her constantly and she is still hyper. The staff member kept reiterating how she “felt so bad for her” and that “she was so good last time.” Which started to make me second guess myself and wonder if I was a “bad dog mom.” I felt a little insulted, as my dog’s breed is known to be high energy and Ive been very transparent about how my dog usually does with nail trims. The staff member returns inside, as they call me to get my payment over the phone. It was at this time that she mentioned to me there will be an extra charge because they needed an extra staff member to help hold her. I asked how many staff members were needed and she stated “three.” I explained that it has always taken three people to hold my pup, and usually I am the third person. It is also important to note that when I first chose this vet, I was very transparent about how it would take three people for a nail trim — which I was never informed of an extra charge. She reiterated “yeah I just felt so bad for her, maybe you will need to try Trazadone next time.” Which honestly, doesn’t work either. I asked for my total, and she stated $30.00. THIRTY dollars. So my dog’s nail trim costs as much as a standard human pedicure. This is so frustrating as my last vet never charged for an extra person, nor was I told about this extra charge when I first contacted Heartland. Needless to say, I feel embarrassed for the whole encounter as the initial exchange put the blame on me for “not exercising my dog” which was not true — it was just assumed. No one took any consideration for other factors as to why my dog may have been anxious. It could have been the new vet, the policy of owners needing to stay in the car, the stress of nail trims itself, other dogs barking inside, or the fifteen minute wait in the car. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be able to go back as there were other ways to better handle this situation instead of blaming the owner & charging $30.

Recomend them 100%! I can not be happier with the great customer service and care all of the vets. Even the warm welcomes from the receptionist. My recently adopted puppy came home with lots of health problems, and even when I called after hours Dr. Anna was there to help me. Now my puppy is happy and healthy thanks to Dr. Anna and her wonderful team.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is always welcoming and really knowledgeable. I run a pet resort in nearby town and have had a lot of experiences with various vet clinics in the area. I choose Heartland as my “on-call” vet hands down. Whether it be something small or something major I know they are there when I need them everytime. The level of care is really second to none- why would I want my dogs, both my personal and my furry clients, to have anything less?

The staff is knowledgeable and cared for our dog well, and the facilities are nice. However, there is a lot of upselling and some of the doctors made us feel like irresponsible pet owners for things like our dog having an ear infection. We switched to a different clinic and are happier there.

I have had Heartland take care of five of my dogs for over 16 yrs. They have always given the best care possible for my beloved dogs and thats all I could ask. And Ive run the gamut of problems since I have animals in active sports. Veterinary services cost more these days just like human costs but relatively a lot less. These veterinarians work for the love of dogs as well as their technicians and front desk people. I dont see them making a lot of money just to keep open their doors. They are excellent and use top and innovative science just to help our dogs and cats. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them highly! Susan Bernhart CPDT-KA, a dog trainer.

I brought in my dog for a suspected bladder infection. As I was working. I filled out the paperwork when I left my dog and specified that I wanted them to call before running additional tests. This did not happen. And though the Dr. was very nice on the phone, I was shocked when I picked up my dog and told the bill was over $300.
