After several different clock places said I needed to replace or rebuild the works in my grandfather clock, $400 to 800 estimate, I contacted Thompsons. They had their guy come out and look. After a short while and some adjustments to the movement -$80- he said he thought it would be fine for a long while. Two months later and it is working perfectly, far longer than it had for years! Thanks!!

Dewayne did a great job replacing the chime block in my fathers retirement clock for a very reasonable price. The clock means a lot to me since my father is gone. Its nice to have the chimes working again!

I am beyond impressed with Thompsons Clock Manor. I called last week to see if they could repair our grandfather clock and the lovely lady told me it would be a couple weeks, and I was more than fine with that. She called me back a day or so later letting me know they had a cancellation and could be out the following week. They arrived promptly, followed all cleanliness procedures, and had our grandfather clock chiming in record time (the repairman wasnt even here for an entire 30 minutes). The price was right! Im mad we didnt call them sooner to repair the clock. Now we are going to see if they can repair my late grandmothers clock as well that has not consistently worked in almost 30 years. This company is amazing. If you need a clock repair shop, this is the shop you want to contact. Thank you, Thompsons Clock Manor!

Took my father-in-laws clock in to have it worked on. Not sure what all they would have to do to get it working again. They cleaned, oiled and made a few adjustments. I couldnt be happier with what they charged for their service.

Pleasant and professional. You gotta love someone who knows their business. These folks know clocks. They know customer service. It is good to hear the chimes and know that this clock runs true. Hasnt lost a minute in over a month.Quality work can take time - so dont expect to have next day repairs. However when they tell you when it will be ready - it will be ready. The one year warranty also tells me they have confidence in their own work.Thank you for bringing my Antique Wall Clock back to better then new condition!

I walked into Thompsons with a 1950s watch and very little hope. While they werent able to repair the watch because parts are unavailable, they far exceeded my expectations. I cant recall the employees name, but I was so impressed with the care she took and her diligence in trying all possible avenues to fix my watch. I highly recommend Thompsons.

Very qualified and reputable clock and watch shop. Repairs of both and clocks for purchase. Reading other reviews, it is too bad that customer service gets a bad rap. No - there is no receptionist, so when you enter the shop, you are seeing the owner at work, hard and detailed work. You may need to give him a minute to be able to stop what he is doing and greet you. This makes his repair process of high quality and you will expect the same when he is working on your item. He takes time with each customer as you would hope. Timely work too! No pun intended...

Excellent company to work with. Called to set up appt and the time wouldnt work for me so they discussed my schedule and worked with me. The service tech was incredible! Called to tell me he was on his way, verified directions and arrived promptly. Explained everything he was checking on my grandfather clock and what he was doing to fix it. Also gave me numerous tips on caring for it that Nebraska Furniture didnt bother to do. I will use this company always and highly recommend them, you cant go wrong!!! Dianne B

When it comes to clock repair, Thompsons is great! They repaired a wall clock that hadnt run in forty years and it runs beautifully. Plus they were very patient in helping me install it and adjusting the pendulum. Im very grateful for their work.

When you walk in the door with an 8-day chiming clock that is gaining time and the man behind the counter says, I know whats wrong just looking at it, you are either in the right spot or you should run. I didnt run. The problem was an incorrect pendulum which he spotted from 20 feet away and which he tried to replace while I waited. As it turned out the correct pendulum had to ordered and it came in 8 days later. The clock now is keeping correct time, chiming when it is supposed to and looks as brand new as a 100 year old clock is capable. I have only good things to offer for the service and the work that was performed.

Incredibly rude would be an understatement.Called to get an appointment, was told the serviceman was on vacation. They called back offering a Thursday morning appointment which did not fit into my schedule. Offered Tuesday morning which again did not fit into my schedule.I said Friday mornings was when I was available and the idiot said that did not work for them, that I would have to find someone else and slammed the phone down.Totally unprofessional and childish. If I could rate lower than one star I would. In the reply to the post about the phone call from seven years ago, you can see the same attitude. The customer was wrong.

Today was the second time Ive visited Clock Manor. I wish I had more reasons to visit and give these guys my money/business.The first was to repair a cuckoo clock my wife picked up in Switzerland. It was damaged in our move. They fixed it for a great price (I think $15?, idk, it was several years ago). The second time was Ive been looking for a small screw for my Honda Key. I bought one from a locksmith up in the northland and it put me back $8. I went by an auto repair place to see if they had one, and they didnt. They told me to go to Ace. Ace couldnt help me either, they said a locksmith. I went to the locksmith on 87th and they couldnt help, told me to go to a jewelry repair place or the honda dealership. I knew the dealership was going to charge me an arm and a leg, so while I was next to this place, I thought Id swing by.I walk in, and the man and the desk asks how can he help. I explain how Im looking for a tiny screw for my key and ask if he can help. He says sure, takes a look, tries a couple different screws and finds one. I ask him how much it will be, and he gives it to me for free. Let me repeat that. FOR. FREE. He not only repaired my key for free, but gave me the screw too. What an amazing place. And I thought customer service was dead. Not so in Overland Park. Not. So. Come here.If you ever need your clock or watch repaired, this is your shop.

I wish Icould give them ZERO stars. The minute I walked into the store the gentleman was very unfriendly I said hello, he said nothing, I introduced myself, he said nothing so......I told him I have a clock that doesnt have a key, I had just purchased the clock from an estate sale, I didnt know if it worked but would like to have it looked at. He quickly got a key and told me that the clock was overwound, that it would need to have a battery operated motor installed and it would cost $45. I asked if it could be repaired to keep the clock original, he told me NO. I quickly told him that I would have to think about it.I then went down to the Clock Shop on Oak Street ( in brookside) They were extremely friendly and told me right off that the clock was NOT overwound that the motor just needed serviced. I picked the clock up a week later and it is running beautifully with the original motor. All the clock needed was cleaned and the gears greased. The repair cost only $45. To have this clock working with its original motor was important to me. The Clock is a vintage Mid century wall clock, not common, very rare. I am so happy that The Clock Shop took the time to service it for me, Something Thompsons Clock Manor wouldnt do. They just wanted to remove the original gears and but in a battery motor which was not what I wanted.I am sure this store could use a representative who was a bit more friendly and more willing to do the right thing when it comes to being HONEST about the workings of a clock! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP!
