I have gone to Meineke #1377 several times. First couple of times for routine oil changes were OK. Over the last three services, they recommended costly and unnecessary repairs -- things like steering fluid and brake fluid flushes that cost ~$100 each. The steering fluid flush has been recommended at three different oil change (5,000 miles each time), even though I researched it and found out that a steering fluid flush really doesnt have to be done until well past 50,000 miles. They got me to commit to a brake job where they replaced both rotors and pads, when just pads would have sufficed. The rotors were actually fine, I found out later. Unnecessary work and money wasted. Finally, I had gotten my shock absorbers replaced at another Meineke in Overland Park at 76k miles. This location told me at the last servicing that the shocks were leaking (only 12k miles later, when shocks should have lasted 50-70k miles), but I was just past the warranty. So either Meineke locations do lousy work in general, or *maybe* there was a failure beyond their control. Regardless, out another $400 for shocks. I got soaked in this last servicing, so Im done with Meineke for good.

TL;DR: Tried to scam a long time customer.It is unfortunate I have to rate this so low. I have used this location for many years and nobody has ever tried to pull anything on me...up until just recently. I was going to let it go and not leave a review but I keep thinking about it and its really messed up what they did. I went in for an oil change, everything seemed fine, everyone was professional up until the very end. I paid and waited for my keys. All of the sudden, the older lady said they had to change a lugnut that was broken and it would be $80~ dollars. First of all, they never came to me to ask if they could fix it, they just told me they did and told me I had to pay for it. Second, I have done some research along with told my father and brother and they were shocked because that would never cost $80. At the time, I asked the employees for a picture before I paid. As soon as I said that they all the sudden changed their mind and said oh its on us. Guess I cant trust this place either. Yes, I will be contacting corporate.

Had a car towed here that was non operational, staff tried everything to get it up and running. Had it there for a week, and they were fair with pricing for the labor. The car itself was not worth the expense of repairs, but I was charged fairly for their hard work. 10/10 would take my future vehicles here.

They were really welcoming and knowledgeable. I also really appreciated how impeccably clean the waiting are and restroom are. I also Appreciate the full list they provided with the full vehicle inspection, but didnt push me to address anything during that visit. I would highly recommend anyone else use them.

The battery that they put in the car was too small for the space, you can literally slide it around by just touching it. And it is tightened down more than all the way (one of the bars was bent they tried to tighten it so far). They refuse to admit they did anything wrong. And it cost almost $300, ridiculous.

I have requested an oil change, replace air filter, coolant flush and power steering flush. When I asked the timeframe to complete the tasks, Casei Williams kept saying another 30 minutes.Three hours wait total !!! AND I had to cancel the power steering flush because, otherwise they would have likely kept me another hour.. The oil replacement package came with tire rotation as well. They did not rotate the tires because they told me my car didn’t need it and I know it did.I was watching the technician work and was very very slow. There were only two other cars in the shop!!I am a small business owner and I will never do such a thing to my customers . It was evident that all employees would need reeducating on how to move quicker and more efficiently.I respectfully suggest that you improve your customer care.Good luck.

I used Meineke for two different auto services on two different vehicles, one was an oil change and the other a brake inspection. My toyota corolla had been making a noise that I believed to be brake related. I also brought a dodge caravan for an oil change. I left both my cars to get serviced at the same time and both were done within an hour. After the oil change was done, I was told my toyota corolla had rotor damage and it was going to need new rotors and brake pads. The cost to fix this was over $500. I found this a little over priced but after doing some research and making some calls I can say theyre estimate was within average costs for these repairs. HOWEVER, after getting a second opinion at a brakes specialist mechanic I was told my brakes were fine and the noise was a result of something else that cost $220 to fix. Now, I would recommend Meineke for there oil change and simple services but not for more complicated fixes like brakes. Not only are there mechanics young and obviously a little inexperienced but I almost got ripped $500.

I have been going to this shop for years and it seems recently their customer service has gone down. I had scheduled a 730 alignment due to the fact my car was shaking. I received a phone call telling me about all these other items and the prices to get them fix ( nothing about my alignment). Was told that they were going to top of coolant for 16 bucks and some other stuff. I went to go pick up my car at 830 ( the quoted time for the repairs to be done ) thinking everything was ready to go. I go inside and was told that there was no need for an alignment. Then they charged me almost half the cost of an alignment just to “ check “ if I needed one to begin with. I asked what was the issue for the shaking and they weren’t even sure stating “ it may just be suspension or rotation needed “ that cost will be 50+ and it will take another 20 minutes ( granted, at that time it was 830 and I had to go to work ) I decline because my car has been with your service for a hour now and nothing was mentioned over the phone what the actual services was needed. I had at least expected that they topped of my coolant like I agree to over the phone drove all the way to work to find out they didn’t even do that! I get that your a business, but penny pinching your customers and not rendering the service that’s actually is not right! I am giving an extra star due to the fact the lady upfront was nice and her being new was not sure how everything works.

Here is a photo for the rude front desk lady who argued with me and told me people come in here and tell us how to do our job about where to install 2 new tires. Hope they keep her out of car repair and more focused on printing paperwork. Overall their work was done as as it should have been.

Very good price with a coupon. Did an inspection, and found a couple of things. Would have given a perfect score, but did not talk to me to go over what they found.

Got a estimate for $158.52 for replacing 1 donut gasket, the gasket at full retail is $15.00 at any auto parts store they were charging me $62 which is over 300 % markup, $96.00 labor for removing 1 bolt and replacing gasket and putting 2 on, took my vehicle home and inspected it myself and it was missing a nut on the flange bolt, fixed it for $1.25 there was nothing wrong with the gasket, always get a second opinion before trusting them !! owner never called me back, never go there !!!

I’ve gone here in the past and have had no issues. Today I tried to drop my car off for an oil change she said it was $82.00. I asked why the woman working said due to the age of my car. I tried to look at what she was charging me for and she grabbed the invoice from me and said that was their paperwork so I left. I’ve no words. On to another business I guess.

They are honest about your cars needs, but they always let you decide what you want to prioritize repairing. They are genuinely friendly and even try to get you the best deals and advise you with your interests in mind, not theirs. I like this place.

They were so polite and helpful when I came in. I had a nail in my tire and before I was on a complete flat, I wanted to get my tire fixed. I have a brand new Kia and went to Shawnee Mission Kia and they turned me away. Went to Tire Plus and they turned me away (7 cars ahead of me). Called Meineke and the nice gentlemen who answered said come on in. They were able to help me right away and now I will be a repeat customer. Thank you for helping me in my time of need!!!

Took it back they said it was something else.. then they treated me with poorly expect.. then they told me that they cant fix it and give me my key back and told me bye.. i will never go back there again..wish I could get a refund. I got my brakes replaced a couple weeks ago.. My car was repaired promptly, and I was quoted a mostly reasonable price. Two weeks, and everything has been running smoothly!

My car broke down on a very busy street in front of their shop. Two hours later my car was ready to go. Can’t beat that!!

The problem was diagnosed after testing. I needed an alternator and battery. The man who wrote up my order explained that I could save money if I bought a rebuilt alternator with a lifetime guarantee. I did what he suggested. He also noticed that my ruined battery was under warranty. He got me a new battery at no charge. Wow.

I distinctly asked for a tire rotation along with the oil change. My tires had not been rotated for 13,000 miles. When my car was finished the tires had not been rotated (I had marked them). On my receipt it said the tires were rotated. I asked Casey (Cassy?) the manager to rotate them. She resisted, saying they didn’t need to be rotated. So is it FREE TIRE ROTATION, or is it free if Meineke feels like it? I am very put off by this. I simply ask that a business DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO!!

I showed up to Meineke around 2pm just to get a quote for installing a new catalytic converter after mine had been stolen. I figured I would have to schedule an appointment later in the week to get the job done, but the very kind lady that was working the desk, Casey, was able to coordinate everything in order to get it all completed by 6pm that day! Greg, another very kind employee even offered me a ride to go get my car and then he drove to go pickup the part, all so they could have me on the road that day! This was my first experience using Meineke, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience, and I will absolutely recommend this location to my friends and family.

Ive used them before and while they have improved over the years, this particular time was very disappointing as I got a battery replacement several months ago and they removed my remote start system when replacing the battery but never hooked it back up. I went to get an oil change this past week and they claim its been like that for a while and couldnt hook it back up and referred me to the starter manufacturer. The alarm goes off randomly which I feel has something to do with the fact they removed the remote start as it didnt happen until after that. Very disappointing considering they ultimately caused the issue by removing it and not hooking back up to begin with.

I walked in with no appointment, and didnt have to wait very long at all. All of the staff was very professional.

As of 3/1/21. I have not received a call back from corporate regarding my complaint. Lady at the 1800 number took info about siautation and said someone would call back. No one was followed up with me.2019 I went to this location car was over heating they changed over 400 to fix. About a year later Aug 2020 car starts over heating again went to location again. Told them I had been here for the same problem they supposedly fixed it. He said since it had been so long nothing they could do so They again charged me over 400 to fix it. Feb 2021 my car starts over heating. I take and drop off at meineke and ask for oil change also. I call once I get to work and tell them whats all going on and how I came in Aug cause it was over heating now 6m later overheating again. Manger KC says she look into it and call me back. I call them cause I hadnt heard anything and she say she was about to call me and the car they cant get it to over heat. They drove for 20 min and let sit for 30min and no over heating. Now thats odd cause it was just over heating the day before I brought it in. She says if it starts to over heat I can bring back in...ok i ask how much for my oil change and stuff and she say $91.00. I said 91.00?? For what?? The oil change was 20.00.. She said I was charged a fee to have them look at my car. I refused to pay that cause my car shouldnt be over heating if yal fixed it 6 months ago. And I dont feel I should pay to have yal look at something that I paid over 400 to Have fixed 6 months ago. KC the manager acts like she doesnt care and said I knew it was a fee. Which I did not know cause no one told me before hand!. So I called corporate and gave info they said someone would call me back. But have not heard anything yet. Not sure if this location just didnt want to fix my car or what but I will never do business here again.

I will never go there again. Outrageous prices. Needed a battery they didnt even check the battery but put a new starter in and then said thermostat needed gasket and housing unit. With all the labor it came to 799.00. Picked it up and wouldnt start again. It was the battery the time. They only gave me back 245.00. I will never go there again

Was told it would take 2 - 2.5 hours ended up taking closer to 5 hours. They fixed the AC, but I would not use them again.

I took my car to the 75th and Metcalf location for an issue with a tire. They took care of it quickly, they were friendly and professional, they did a great job, and the price was fair. I will definitely call them again when I need car or tire service.

Always have a great experience at this location! They inspected my break pads and rotors for me as my breaks had been squealing and called to let me know the front and backs needed to be replaced. My husband and I agreed to getting the work done but when I picked the car up, they informed me that the backs were not as bad As originally thought and didn’t end up needing to be replaced. They could have easily replaced them and took our money that we agreed to spend. They will always have our business knowing that they are honest and trustworthy!

I’ve gotten my oil changed here several times and each time it’s taken almost an hour and a half, even with an appointment. Seems like a long time for a simple oil change. Also I asked them to fill up my tires because my check tire pressure light was on and they didn’t do it.

At first I thought this location was top notch. I believe a good mechanic should be transparent, friendly, and be willing to be forthright to a customer about whats happening with an automobile.I brought my truck in with a carburetor leak. Their lead mechanic looked it over and confirmed the leak was from the accelerator pump diaphragm. I bought my own part from next door (Advanced Auto), a $4 accelerator pump diaphragm, which happened to be the same part and same supplier they would used to purchase the part. A week later, the carburetor was still leaking from the same spot and one other place as well (transfer tube). So it was misdiagnosed.The person at the front desk and the owner wouldnt redo the work, claiming the part wasnt covered under warranty, the EXACT same part and supplier they would have used.They then suggested that I replace the entire carburetor, and after consulting with Advanced Auto next door, I bought one that they said would fit the truck. It turns out it wasnt the right fit, and they sent me up the road telling me to take it somewhere else to fix it.I also paid for the lead mechanic to look it over and provide estimates on what it would cost to fix other issues. The owner said hed send over the estimate, and almost a week later I had to call back to get him to send it over.Their lead mechanic is abrasive and kind of rude. The woman at the front desk is terse as well, and the owner, while extremely nice, seems to not want anyone coming onto the shop floor to talk to his mechanics. The operation seems secretive and lacks transparency.I eventually had another mechanic look at the carburetor, who diagnosed the issue as being a transfer tube issue, and he fixed it for $40 by replacing a simple O-ring. If I would have gone with this Meineke location, Id be in the hole ~$750-$800.Im not saying to steer clear of this place, but make sure you keep them honest.

The manager and techs are nice and I appreciate the picture updates on different parts of my car (under the hood/wheels). Unfortunately, over the past few visits the experience has gone down hill, pricing has been inconsistent, and the work has become careless (during this past visit I had to drive back twice to have them fully correct their original mistake). Also, when I got in my car to leave, the steering wheel and shifter were grimy...and I had to reset my oil change reminder light (typically the tech would do it). I give people a lot of grace and typically dont write negative reviews...hopefully this can be taken as constructive feedback though.

Shop manager took extra time to review repair options with me. When the repairs needed extra time for proper sealing, he graciously drove me 40 minutes home and picked me up next day when repairs were completed. All this was done to make certain the repair procedure would have best possible outcome. I am grateful for the extended courtesy.

Enjoyed an excellent experience with this Meineke on 75th and Metcalf. Was kept informed along the way and was provided many options and great advice I could TRUST with a tricky repair. Without the integrity shown from the first call to the last handshake, I am not sure we would have felt comfortable spending money on this repair at all and we’re completely impressed and comfortable with the spend and our new friends at Meineke!

I was a walk in at four in the afternoon on a cold snowy day and they got me right in only had to wait 20 minutes!

They kept in constant contact with me over the course of a week while diagnosing, helping me tow, and ultimately selling my car to a pick and pull yard. Towing was free since I’m a member of their rewards program. They also did all the calling to find me the best price for my car and took care of the transfer once the company came to take my car away. Except for losing my car due to a bad engine, Meineke made the best of the situation for me and was very professional and thorough.

They were professional and completed the work quickly. Only negative, the price seemed about 15% too high. Will still likely go there in the future.

I’ve been to a multitude of mechanic shops, and there is only two of them I know is honest, knowledgeable, affordable and quick. This shop won’t try to sale you unnecessary services and will work hard to give you a fair pricing. I’m honestly glad I stumbled on their shop when I recently moved here.

I love Meineke, especially the 75th and Metcalf location! I have since moved out of the area, and still make the 45 minute trip one-way when I need anything done with my car. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable, and I trust them with my vehicle. They knew me by name by my 3rd visit! They never pressure me into buying things I dont want or need, and are always happy to answer any questions I have.

I had my truck towed to this location to be assessed. I was told that they would have it in first thing in the morning. When we called they said that they would have take a look at it in 10 to 15 minutes. Called later that day around 3 p.m. and they said that they would have a look at it in the next 30 to 45 minutes. After I got off work drove by the shop to see that it was still sitting outside and a mechanic was walking up to every now and then just looking inside it while eating a bag of chips. Right before they closed we were finally informed what they thought was wrong with the truck and quoted us at $1800. We went to pick up the truck and they informed us that it was going to be almost $60 to release it. This was not informed to us beforehand. me and a friend personally fixed the problems that they described in the parking lot of the auto place, which of course meineke did not like in came out throwing a fit. After fixing all of the problems that meineke had quoted us $1,800 for and then some, the truck is still overheating. This $1,800 repair only cost us less than $200 in parts from the neighboring auto store. So we were screwed out of $60 for nothing. I called the other meineke and they said that they would take a look at the truck for free and said that another person was in there from the 75th location with a similar situation. They misdiagnosed the problem. Save yourself the hassle, go to another location

Theyve always done good work in the past, but let me down this time. I had a coupon for oil change, 23 point inspection, and tire rotation. I specifically mentioned the tire rotation as we were leaving on an 800 mile road trip. I assume the oil and filter were changed(?), but the tires were not rotated. They werent even smart enough to clean off the lug nuts to make it appear the rotation was done.They also didnt top off fluids. Antifreeze was still at least a quart low. Not a big deal, just added to the overall lack of expected service.I guess its time to find a new shop I can trust.>>>Their response- ...We dont have record of a recent visit...Thats because in the 3-4 years Ive been coming there youve never spelled my name correctly on the invoices. Look at the credit card receipts, idiots. Makes my decision not to return even easier.

Service is good, waiting area is always clean. Every time I have my oil changed they find almost exactly $1,300. worth of work I need to have done.

My experience was not the best. I was told the high mileage oil change was $55 before the service. Once my car was ready she told me I now owe $71 because my car required more oil and a different filter. Once they knew it was going cost extra, they should have told me and let me make the choice of what I wanted to do. That is bad service. What really gets me is that she told me that they get my kind of car all the time, which mean you should have known it was going to cost extra from the beginning. Next time please be upfront and there won’t be an issue.

This Meineke is great. I thought my muffler was shot. But, they brought me out to show me exactly what was causing the noise and it turned out to be a worn out flange. They could have charged me for a new muffler, but they saved me a lot of money. Not only that, they drove my wife and I home and brought us back rather than make us wait for the repair. Great customer service.

Went there to get my old truck aligned after replacing upper and lower control arms, outer tie rod ends, and front wheel bearings. There tec calls and says that they can’t align it do to it needing drive front wheel bearings all they want is to rip off there customer will not be bring any of my vehicle there ever again

Made an oil change appointment for noon. I asked how long it would take and they said 45 mins. Walked to nearby restaurant for lunch...took about an hour. Hadnt received a call or anything so I walked back to check on the car. Car hadnt even been moved to the garage yet! Their excuse was some other car took more time. Sure that happens. But as soon as they knew that, A CALL TO ME WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT so i could have decided to just leave and bring it back some other time. Instead they must have just assumed I was going to wait another hour for my car like time is nothing. Ill never be going back.
