This Husband and wife team are the real deal!We were given many high-praising recommendations on the Next-door website for Kilgores Automotive Services.We took our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe to them because we had some strange noises coming from the from the front end, the alignment was off, and the breaks were squeaking.Ron, the owner, said we needed some front end work. Our struts got stuck and the rubber was almost gone! We did more research and it appeared that he was correct in his diagnosis. Ron had even pulled the car fax so he could understand the history of the car maintenance. Very old school, and very impressive!Ron showed us the parts that were removed and explained what they were and why. And the price ended up being less than the quote.Who does that?Ron even called the next day to see how the car was running!The car runs like new now - it was like night and day!They have earned our business for all of our cars for life!If you want experienced, honest and high quality work on your cars, Kilgores Automotive is the place to go. You will not regret it!

One of the worst shops I have ever been to in Florida. None of the staff at the front desk wear masks which make it the best place to spread the virus. Wife was very rude and disrespectful while scheduling my appointment for service and has no customer service skills what’s so ever. This place is very overpriced and they try to rip you off by explaining stuff which does not make sense at all. Had no other option but to have my car fixed here and will never come back. A week after service, I found that some of engine parts were STOLEN and lost control of my vehicle while driving on a highway. Do not believe any of the positive reviews that were posted here, all were done by shop partners and family members. Spread the word and advice your loved ones not to fix their car at this place and save their life.BE CARFUL AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOUR LIFE MATTER TO YOU

I called Kilgore because they are located literally around the corner from me. I asked them if they charge for diagnostic checks on vehicles because there are plenty of auto mechanics out here that do free diagnostic and some even offer free towing on top of that. The lady on the phone said that they charge $90 just to look at it and that they have been doing business for 33 years. In order to make an informed decision I asked a few more questions. She dismissed my questions and told me to bring the car in for a diagnostic check and then she could answer my questions. When I let her know that my questions were meant to make an informed decision before taking my car to her shop, she became really annoyed and even raised her voice. I asked to speak to the person in charge and she claimed to be the owner. She then asked me Are you going to bring in your car or not?. At that point it was clear to me that they did not care about customer satisfaction and I was forced to end the call. In the end I found a better deal at City Garage with free diagnostic, free towing, and even a free ride back. And they had no problem answering my questions!

I have a classic muscle car and was a little skeptical to take to an unknown mechanic. But after speaking to Mr. Kikgore over the phone he put my fears to rest. After dropping off my vehicle he detailed what he was going to do and keep me informed. The work his shop did was impeccable. Im a costumer for life now and will be taking all my vehicles there now

My girlfriend has gone here for two+ decades, and Ive had work done twice on my 2008 Ford. I could not ask for a better experience - the owner always explains what went wrong, whats required for repair, and then shows the old parts he pulled off and explains the specific failure - a free education to go w/the repair service.

We’d been overpaying for bad service at the local Jeep dealership for years. The work was shoddy at best, and the staff couldn’t give you a straight answer to save their lives. Found Kilgore’s online, and decided to give them a try. This place is exactly what we’ve been looking for -- a local business run by good people who do quality work. From first speaking to Luanne on the phone to the thoughtful and insightful conversation I had with Ron upon picking up my vehicle, the Kilgores were an absolute pleasure. My brakes needed an exorcism. They were fixed correctly, and Ron took the time to show me the faulty parts and explain exactly what had happened. This is what customer service is supposed to look like. We’re bringing our cars here from now on.

Ron and Luanne are as honest and reliable as the day is long. Ron is highly experienced and qualified. Over 10 years his work has been impeccable. I take both my cars to them twice a year and Ive not had a breakdown on the road. My big worry with auto mechanics is integrity. I would trust the care of my children to Ron and Luanne (though they have their hands full with grandkids). And in addition to getting a great job done on your vehicles, they are delightful people and a joy to visit. You cant go wrong with them.

Let me first preface that yes, I am a Kilgore (my husbands parents own and run this business), but I will also say that I am honest to a fault and would not write a glowing review or give credence to any business just as a favor or because I am a relative. Being a daughterl myself, of a mechanic who owns a car repair shop in Durham, NC, I was raised with a certain expectation of quality, customer service and, above all else, honesty, qualities that always made me proud when it came to my father. Moving away from home and realizing that I would have to take my car somewhere else, I panicked and truly realized that I was now in the norm of people never really knowing what to do or who to trust when they need repairs, oil changes or even a tune up. For years I went to the dealership and it was the worst experience. I was a number in line and was relegated to the waiting area (often for hours) until getting a bill that no one could explain to me. It was big, disorganized and no personal attention. I just wanted to be back home where I could be in the hands of a true family business that cared about me, my car and where I could trust that I wasnt being taken advantage of. Who would have thought that Id find this and that they would end up being my future in-laws.Listen, when our car is on the outs in any way or needs a tune up, it is never good timing and we get annoyed. We just want it fixed and be back on the road. I promise you, if you go to Kilgores Automotive, it will be hard to stay in that mood because when you walk into the door, you are greeted with such a warm hello from Luanne (my mother in law works the front office), youll almost feel like you are there to visit a long time friend. The entire establishment is immaculate and everything is transparent in terms of pricing and Ron, my father-in-law, rolls up his sleeves with his employees to oversee, train, and work on the cars himself. He always wants to make sure that you understand what is wrong, how it happened, what can be done to fix it and what you can do to prevent it from happening again. They work efficiently, effectively and have the same goal in mind to get you back on the road.So if you are the type of person who would rather be treated like a customer with a lack of interest in any small talk or interest in you as a person, who doesnt really care that theyve been in business for almost 40 years and would rather not see photos of family on the walls or happy exchanges with parts vendors that theyve known for years, then this place would not be for you. I am so proud of my in-laws for the amount of time and commitment they put into their business and into the people they serve. Id give more stars if I could.

I went in to have an oil change because this business is close to my work, and I like to support small businesses. I was literally laughed at. Apparently they work by appointment only. I was not offered one. I can only conclude that they do not need my business nor yours. I suggest you go somewhere else.
