I am one of those people who does not like insurance, but when I talk to Andrea Martinez she was the most thorough professional agent I spoke with, that day and I spoke with many for my quotes. She was very professional and thorough when she explained everything to me, what I needed for my home owners policy, she explained all the alternatives or additions and allowed me to choose no pressure she just got the job done. To avoid any confusion, I am leaving a review for Carlos Martinez in the Orlando State Farm office. We had a claim that shouldnt have been complicated (but was so due to other parties actions) and Carlos and his support staff did a positively stellar job with what turned into a bit of a situation. Where do I start? I was reluctant to call Carlos Martinez because I had been a loyal customer with Geico for over 6 years. My experience was excellent with state farm. The agent Alejandra was very efficient, courteous and professional. Completely took the pressure off my chest and managed to save me $100 total between 3 vehicles (one being a high end sports car) per month while in addition receiving more coverage for less money, to think I had an insurance broker that hunted insurance plans for me to Tailor to my budget and not even he was able to save me money on insurance. Happily satisfied.

Sol is probably the best customer service rep I have ever encountered! She went above and beyond to help me switch over my insurance and was very flexible with helping get my documents submitted since I didn’t have a way to travel and physically stop by the office to sign. ***DO NOT INSURE HERE*** Absolutely horrible experience this entire past year with this agent. I was insured with Progressive on a perfectly good policy that was always professional and never had any issues. I was offered a better rate with this branch at Statefarm and was hesitant to switch but was given a great rate upfront. Immediately after I signing up I started having issues. Come to find out the branch added my mother on my policy to get me cheaper rate without my knowledge. I only knew by her receiving policy documents and it effecting her coverage she had on her own. When contacting this branch I was told it was a mistake on their end and that it would be fixed and I would keep my rate. Completely false. I was then sent a notice of my policy being cancelled in the mail. When calling to speak to Carlos directly, back in 5/2018, I would get the run around and have YET to speak with him. The agents I would get a hold of would simply transfer me to Jorge. Jorge is great and I have no quarrels with him as he did the best as he could do as a sales agent. But I was repeatedly told that issues would get fixed to no avail. For MONTHS the online system and app show my policy rate had spike over $100 a month from my original rate and every time I would ask I why, I would simply be told it is an error on their end. I was advised to hold off on making payments until fixed and to be patient. Again, they contact me with a cancellation notice due to non payment. When again asking for help I am told the same thing of waiting until the system updates, but now asked to pay $255 to keep the policy active although I don’t know if I have a real policy or not. Again, still trying to get a hold of Carlos with him never contacting me. The only time he would email me was to tell me that I have to fill out a new acceptance letter (which I completed a total of 4 times). The branch finally said they are going to have corporate jump in and adjust the rate to where it’s supposed to be and again asks me to be patient. This started in April/May. At this stage it’s Sept/Oct. Again, being told my policy is fine on their end but just to wait for the system to fix itself before making payments. Now comes Nov., my birth month which means I need to renew my vehicle tags. I have my insurance information and everything BUT the DMV let’s me know that my license is about to be suspended due to not having any insurance associated with me and I cannot renew my tags or reinstate my license once suspended until I have actual insurance. When contacting this branch I’m advised once more that I have a policy with them and that the DMV is mistaken. Logged back in and of course it still shows that the site and app are not working correctly. Rightfully frustrated and highly upset that my license is about to be suspended, I try to see who I can speak to about handling this. Carlos has yet to contact me and instead ignores this concern completely. I’m now having to scramble to get insurance through another agency to avoid suspension and ultimately having to pay another $450 on a down payment for another agencies insurance that I should’ve already had. During this I’m told by statefarm that at this point it’s probably best to look into other insurance. I request a refund of the payments made due to never truly having any real insurance and being forced to pay extra money i don’t have to simply be insured. I was given a refund request confirmation number and a phone number to call. The number I call was just as bad. I was transferred through 4 agents that repeatedly stated the confirmation number I have means nothing and then was finally told i would be transferred to the correct department to file a claim to just be transferred to an automated message that said “thank you for calling Statefarm, goodbye.” And disconnects the call. I called the # on the main site and again have no idea what the number is and being told Carlos will help. This was 2 wks ago and still nothing at all from Carlos. I’ve never been treated so horribly. I‘m reporting Carlos to every bureau.

Had car insurance with him for 1 year, was not able to renew in time after the 2nd 6 month period and was reported to the DMV IMMEDIATELY with no warning from them which resulted in a cancellation/suspension of my license (which i was unaware of) and when i tried to renew and call, his office would not respond and did not even tell me about my suspended license. I only found out about my suspension when I went to another car insurance company that helped me out.

I called them when I got a recommendation from the state farm website but I didn’t get the help and she hung up the phone without giving me help I was really thinking to switch to State Farm from Geico but I don’t think so even though Geico a little bit higher than State Farm.

I have now tried to work with this agent for 7 months and have had a horrible experience. I paid for insurance and told to be patient for months while they work on fixing my policy to only find out I had no insurance when going to the DMV to renew my tags. The DMV had my license pending suspension due to no insurance, although this brand advised me that i have a policy. I left after months of issues and them changing/cancelling my policy over and over without my consent while telling me everything is ok. I requested to speak with Carlos for months with never getting contacted by him. Dont shop for insurance here. it sounds amazing but it is truly not. i have read other reviews of situations like mine with this agent on facebook and social media and even people actually losing their license while assuming they were insured.Jorge is a great agent but could only do so much. Carlos and state farm did not, and still yet has not been reliable, professional, or honest.DO NOT INSURE HERE.I reached out to Jorge in hopes of saving a couple dollars. I honestly didn’t expect anything to work. Jorge responded very quickly, was super professional and provided me my options. Within minutes I was able to speak with Bianca and she went over all the final details. Together they’ve taken my $300 Progressive insurance monthly bill down to $126! They’ve saved me $174 a month! Thank you so much Jorge and Bianca!
