Not wanting to purchase a ring from the traditional large chain retailer. I opted for a local, independent purveyor of jewelry. For it was for a momentous occasion and I wanted it to be special. James and Sons sure fit the bill. I entered their “Orland”store about an hour before closing time, without an appointment or ever speaking to anyone there before. Nonetheless, Casey and their entire team were fabulous. Unbeknownst to me the staff catalogued the whole event and presented us with several photos of it upon completing the purchase. In which was a delightful surprise to us both! So if you’re in the area and in the market for fine jewelry. I suggest that you stop-in to check out their vast selection and friendly staff. I had the pleasure of working with Casey, who’s patient, competent and very knowledgeable. She ensured that our experience was both an extraordinary and enjoyable one. Thank you James & Sons Fine Jewelers.Original one star review: This is the second wedding ring and band that my husband purchased from James and Son. I dropped my ring off for resizing and received a printout noting the cost of the resizing totaled $60 (to be paid at pick up). Upon pickup the associate that originally assisted me was not on site, so another associate assisted me. Upon gathering my documents and my ring, she proceeded to discard the retrieval ticket and quoted me $120. I asked if that was the correct price because the drop off ticket states $60 total at pickup. She went on to ask if I purchased the ring from James and Sons. I informed her that we had. She just said the cost is $120. I was on lunch, so I did not have enough time to discuss further after driving 40 minutes to pick up my ring and band. When my husband returned home I discussed with him and he was highly upset with the service received today.

I just purchased a new time piece from a fantastic sales associate named Liz. She is such a fantastic person. I am somewhat of a watch enthusiast and only buy from a couple of people. For me personally, I look younger than I am, and jewelry stores have a habit of being extremely rude and nasty to me, refusing to take me seriously or giving me attitude like I have no idea what I’m taking about. I made a purchase. A very expensive purchase. I went to return item after changing my mind about item, I was told I had to hold on to it. But they would check with owners on Tuesday. Looks like I’m headed to court because I didn’t take receipt and they did not give me return policy. When I asked they showed it to me after the fact. Not good business to me.

Would not rezise a watch because my watch was not authentic, just wanted it resized. Instead turned our business away.Lady was nice but was disappointed, All we wanted was a couple links off. Crazy.So we went to Jareds across the street and they where more then happy to give us the time of day and take care of our small need.They didnt make us feel uncomfortable like James and sons.
