Loved these guys. Super honest and they don’t diagnose you any BS stuff just to get more money. Ive been going to Doug, Jake, and Kirk for over ten years since I moved to Utah. Theyre the best: professional, friendly, honest. I trust them implicitly and theyve helped keep our cars going for years. Doug is a Mustang enthusiast but he also understands that I dont need my Honda Odyssey to stay at racing standards. Ive had them work on brakes, air conditioning, heating, engine repair, transmission, etc. Theyve always been professional and great to work with.My only hesitation in writing this review is that I dont want to make them busier than they already are!Thanks guys!

After the disaster that was an auto repair shop in Price, UT (see my other review), I moved on to Dougs to get emergency brake repair. I arrived early morning, on a Friday.I was greeted by shop owner Doug. Our interactions throughout were pleasant. Doug explained clearly what was going on. The work got done on time, as promised. Not any complaints on customer service. The cost was fair, as well. However, the installed parts lasted only three months.Eventually, I had to bring the vehicle to my regular mechanic, because it started shaking excessively when braking. The causes: both (front) rotors/pads were warped and thoroughly pervaded by tiny cracks.Ill acknowledge that I do drive a lot, as a fulltime traveller, but Im sure not years worth (how long rotors/pads usually last) in a span of only three months—thatd be almost impossible. My mechanic suggested that second-rate parts were used. Id believe that. Otherwise, Doug seemed honest and well-meaning, based on my personal experience and others reviews.

Doug is the best mechanic I’ve had. He is easy to contact, straightforward about pricing and options, and has your best interest in mind. He takes the time to listen to my questions and discuss options. And he does great work. He is also fair with pricing and gets things done quick.

I needed car repair work done a few years ago and went to a number of different automechanics to get quotes on different prices. Doug had by far the cheapest price so I decided to have him do the work. Ever since, I only come to Dougs auto repair even when I have lived over 60 miles away. Doug, Jake, and Kirk are the most honest people I have ever met, they are fully transparent on how much the car parts cost and how much labor they charge which is always incredibly low compared to everywhere else Ive ever been or heard of. I also cant help but chit chat with Doug for a while everytime I come in, hes one of the most personable and coolest people Ive met.

I LOVE DOUG’s. I’ve been going to them for everything for the last 3 years (and 3 different cars since I’ve had a lot of problems), and every time I am blown away. They have always been super honest about repairs and have never tried to oversell me on anything. They are great with communication and price point. This was my first time visiting Dougs Auto Repair. It is a little difficult to find, but once I arrived I had a great experience. Kirk is a great guy. Very friendly. Jake did the work of putting on my brake caliper covers for my Mustang. He got it done very quickly. The caliper covers look awesome! I live in Salt Lake County and I definitely will be going back when I need other work done. I highly recommend this business for anyone who wants quality work done by very professional workers and also at great prices.

My family mechanic that we had been seeing for 20+ years retired and I did t like the new one they went to so I branched out and gave Doug’s auto a chance and have never looked back! They are SO honest! I’ve never felt like they’ve overcharged me and they’re very informative about the work they’re going to do and give accurate repair estimates. The only downside is sometimes they have so many cars in the shop so it takes a few days to get to mine, but the wait is 100% worth. Can’t recommend these guys enough to someone looking for an honest and local auto repair shop.

Dougs is great. They are super good about telling you the most cost-effective way to repair your car. Ive gone in multiple times because Jiffy Lube told me I needed a repair done, and Doug or Jake has looked at it, said that I dont need the repair yet, and not charged me a cent. They are very competent and very honest. Its great to have a mechanic you can trust and not someone who is trying to get you to spend more money than you need to

I cannot recommend Doug’s Auto Repair Inc enough. They not only know what they’re talking about and can get any job done required, but they are honest and genuinely care for you as the customer. I have my fair share of car troubles and knowing I have a place I can go to that I trust is a big deal. They were recommended to me by a family who have gone to them for years and after a couple interactions with them, I am now a loyal customer as well who points anyone their direction when I can.

Doug and his mechanics are awesome! Super personable and knowledgeable. They are one of the few shops in Utah County that I don’t have to worry about taking my cars to. They are friendly and affordable. If you don’t know what’s wrong with your car, but know that something is wrong - they will take the time to check out your car and let you know what the problem is. The shop itself is tucked behind some other businesses so unless you know where you’re going (or someone who has been there before) it can be tricky to find, but they really are like a diamond in the rough. Also, if you’re a mustang fan (or have one that needs to be worked on), these are your guys!

Dougs auto is the best place hands down for any of your automotive needs. They know their stuff and havent steered me wrong. Once, I got my transmission fluid change at one of the dealer service departments down the road. My transmission was grinding like crazy. Took the car into Dougs and they fixed it almost immediately (turns out the big guys use the lowest quality fluid that isnt good for the car) Doug really took care of me, for a reasonable price too! 10/10, 5 stars, 2 enthusiastic thumbs up for them!

Nice people that work there but the work they do is more important. I took my car in and paid for a repair on my starter and the next day my car wouldn’t start still as if they did nothing. Now I’m stranded outside because my car won’t start because they didn’t deliver on what they charged me money for. I figured I’d write this review while I wait for someone to pick me up.

These guys are the very BEST! I had paid over $1200 to Rockys in Orem over 6 months to fix my car (mass air flow sensor) and they still never fixed it. Ended up taking it to Dougs in complete desperation and no funds left to fork out and they figured it out in seconds and fixed it for cost. I have since done all my oil changes there and theyre so quick and Honest! Highly recommend them!!

Been going to dougs since I moved to go to college. I tell everyone to take used cars to Doug BEFORE they buy! Relatively cheap to have them take a look and he saved my from buying 2 cars that had problems. Hes fixed 3 of our cars and we always go there for oil changes. Very fair, doesnt try and charge and fix things you dont need. Highly recommend dougs auto, friendly and honest which is definitely not common nowadays it seems when it comes to mechanics. I LOVE Doug’s Auto. I went in to get simple work done on my car (fix a headlight and oil change) and it was repaired in under an hour. I also had them check my breaks. While some mechanics may lie and say that they needed to be fixed (since I have no idea how to do it or what to look for), Doug was very honest and told me where the breaks where at and how long I had left on them. I went back with my fiance’s car to fix his AC problem, and it was an easy fix without any problems. Prices are fair, they work very quickly, and Doug himself is a great and personable guy. I will definitely be coming back here in the future!

We have been bringing our cars to Doug’s for almost 5 years now after a recommendation from a friend. Today I found out I needed to take the car in and my wife and I planned on dropping it off tonight, and picking it up on Saturday or next Monday. No need for that. Doug took care of us before he ended his day and we were home by 6:00. We got there at 4:30. This is par for the course with these guys. Dougs is a great place to take your vehicle. One of the mechanics took a few extra minutes to fix a small problem so my check engine light stayed off and passed emmisions. They are quick, efficient, and reasonably priced.

I am a single mom going through a divorce. No family alive. Literally on my own with a two year old. I took my vehicle to Dougs as my clutch was sticking to the ground and was unable to drive. I also was in need of front breaks as well as my driver side door would not open from the inside due to a different company I took my vehicle to that returned my vehicle with the driver side door issue. I just had an emissions test done, super simple and easy. Saved about $10 doing it from Dougs PLUS it only took about 10 minutes! They were working on other cars, but because it didnt take long they quickly checked my emissions and I was in and out within 10 minutes. Definitely recommend going to them. Honest, quick, and priced fairly. Ill definitely be going back to them again.

I asked Dougs Auto for a second opinion on a quote I was given for nearly $3,000 of what I was told was critical repairs. Kirk and Doug confirmed $250 worth of repairs and told me that my car doesnt even have one of the parts the other shop told me I had to get fixed. I trust Dougs Auto completely and will travel 30 minutes to have them fix my car because of that trust.

Doug refused to do what he advertised that he does because he said that doing an inspection on my scooter wasnt worth his time since he wouldnt make much money. He was rude, vulger and over all a big jerk toward me.

Doug and his team are awesome. Its not often that you completely trust a mechanic, but I can say I feel comfortable taking my cars to Dougs for everything from an inspection of a car I was about to buy, to oil changes, to A/C repairs, to alternators. Theyve done an awesome job with all of it, pricing is fair and timing is always fast.

My experience with Doug’s has been surreal. My A/C clutch froze up and burnt up my belt amongst other things, leaving the car undrivable. My AAA tow truck driver recommended Doug’s and I noticed they had 4.9 stars... turns out for good reason. They’re very busy, but they managed to repair my car sooner than expected and for a far more reasonable price than the other shops quoted me. (I called around). Then, when I got the car back, I noticed they had fixed my power steering and didn’t tell me. It had been broken for almost 6 months and works like new. Doug oversee’s all the work done there and it shows. He even gives you his own personal guarantee when you pick it up.

These guys are great! Anytime I have purchased a vehicle Ill take it here first. They give great advice and have saved me a lot of money by helping me make the right decision.

I took a car into Dougs prior to buying it to get a full evaluation. He was done in 10 minutes and charged $50, and gave me no substantive feedback. My car broke down a week later and the next mechanic found many issues that Dougs team should have caught with even the most general of inspections. I do not think the mechanic actually looked at my car to find any issues.

Kirk and Doug are the best mechanics in Utah. They are super professionals and the best thing, it’s that they are super honest people. They don’t try to take advantage of you in any way. They will help you to solve any issues with your car.

I dont normally write Google reviews, but this shop forced me to make an exception. It is very hard to find a good and honest mechanic now a days and I did my research before choosing this shop. It had a lot of reviews and was averaging 4.8 stars. Im super glad I ended up coming here.My car was experiencing overheating issues which forced me to have to tow my car to this location. Not only did they allow me to tow a car there but they also squeezed me in last second. I called the morning of!My overall satisfaction with the shop is 5/5. The owner and employees treat you more than just another customer. They will talk with you about personal things and explain the repair process to you. And if youre lucky youll get to see the amazing mustang collection the owner has.After I left the shop my car was running fine again, Im definitely making this shop my go-to shop now.

Doug has always been very honest and straightforward with us about our cars. He does his very best to save us money every time we bring our cars to him. He and all of his staff are also very nice people and treat their customers with respect, and as a woman, Ive never felt talked down to or taken advantage of here.They are typically very busy, so I would recommend calling ahead when you want to bring your car in. Making sure they arent full to bursting or making an appointment will make things go more smoothly. That said, even though theyve been busy, they have always gotten done with our cars in a timely manner. They are really great!

These are wonderful people and they are very good at what they do! I dont take my car anywhere else! They tell you what is needed and what can be done, but they never pressure you to pay for things that arent necessary for your cars operation. Called ahead to get an estimate of how much I’d be charged for swapping out a pump and a few other things, and the total ended up being exactly what he said it would be. Not only that, I dropped my truck off expecting it would be a couple days and less than a day later I get a call saying it’s done. Everything runs ten times better, and they were great at keeping in touch and letting me know what’s going on. On top of the super fast service and fair pricing, Jake and Kirk were super friendly and even offered advice on other issues I was having that definitely helped.

Most competent mechanics ANYWHERE - If they cant fix it, sell it! These guys wont fix it if it isnt broken. They wont ding you for unnecessary fluids or other consumables just because its time or the right mileage. Make an appointment, these guys are busy (thats the best recommendation you will ever get for an auto mechanic). If you ask nicely, Doug may show you his Mustang collection. Hes what I call a passionate, practical Mustang lover. His cars are beautiful, museum quality, but he drives them!Its easy to miss the road to this business off State St., but worth turning around until you find it!

The owner Doug is a really friendly and hardworking person as are all of the other workers there. They all have a minimum of many years of experience working on vehicles and know all of the tricks that fix the vehicle quickly as well, instead of just installing a whole new part.Doug remembers me every time I come in. Even when I call from a different number and tell him only my first name and the model and make of my car, he immediately remembers me! He’s really kind to poor college students and tries to give priority to you if you’re a regular (even if you only visit only once or twice a year).The shop is always very busy though, so you have to make an appointment at least 3-4 days in advance. However, the last time I just dropped in (I was towed there), he still fixed my car the same day and I was able to pick it up a few hours later.Best of all, they’re all honest mechanics and never overcharge, lie about how long it took them to fix your vehicle, or add things that aren’t needed to the bill.If I could give him a higher than 5 star rating, I would!

Doug does a great job working on cars. I took my 1986 Isuzu Trooper in to him, which has a few problems. Doug was able to fix a few things, and tune up my carburetor. He explained clearly what he had done, and what he would recommend for future repairs. Great service, and reasonable prices.

I wish I could write multiple five star reviews for Dougs Auto as they have on multiple occasions earned as much between myself and friends of mine. They are honest, informative, and are up front with what is and isnt urgent and will give you a straight forward timeline for when replacements ought to be made. This honesty and informativeness has made them my go-to shop from here on. Beyond that honesty theyve been flawlessly easy to work with delivering exactly on what is requested and at perfectly reasonable rates.

Both mine and my husbands car required some pretty hefty repairs. We live in bountiful so we checked around town to find that the repairs would total over $1600. We decided to give Dougs Auto a try. Jake was our contact but everyone I encountered was just as friendly and honest. To our relief the team at Dougs told us that many of the repairs we had been quoted for were unnecessary and that we were being taken advantage. Dougs team did an awesome job fixing up our cars for literally hundreds less than what we were initially expecting. I have already recommended them to all my family and many friends. Hopefully we will never have to do business anywhere else. We were well taken care of and charged very fairly.

I had a great experience here. It was a great price and it was done quickly and well. Doug is a great and honest man. I will definitely be coming back when I need work on my car. Would highly recommend.

Edit: 11/2020 they took my car in that wouldn’t start. And found out it was a really obscure part that they haven’t seen break before. And the first thing they did to help save me money was to see if a junkyard had that part at a reduced cost!! They got me all fixed up and helped me keep my wallet full for the holidays.Some of the best and honest service you can get around. I got an oil change through them and they charged me half as much as any of the chains nearby. I will be coming back for a long time. Also if your car needs immediate attention for safety measures such as brakes they can squeeze you in their busy schedule. They have a small office, that is fully decorated with auto stuff, really neat. The staff is outright and up front which is the main reason Im coming back.

I only only go to Dougs auto they are thebest. They have fair prices and are very honest. They explain and do their best to resolve the issues.

Doug was very honest about the condition the car was in as well as what needed to be fixed and offered very competitive and fair prices compared to the dealership.
