Ive never been so close to yelling at someone in my life, and Ive worked retail or hospitality for my entire work career and understand how things go. I called the Oneida location this morning to make an appointment to have tires mounted and balanced, and get an alignment for my Dodge Dart. No problem, made an appointment for 2:30 that afternoon. Justin on the phone didnt ask any questions, but I figured they might be busy at the moment, ok no issue.I arrive a few minutes early and go in. Tell the guy at the counter why I was there and go to hand him my key. I should have known things werent going to go well when the guy at the counter not only didnt ask if I had an appointment, but when I told him I had one, didnt want my phone number, name, or car make/model. He didnt confirm what I was having done, give me a quote or a time frame...but I really needed the new tires on and had a last minute day off to get it done, so I went ahead anyway. Big mistake.I get a ride back and 1 hour, 2 hours, almost 3 hours go by with no call. OK, maybe they forgot to call. Been there, done that. So at 5 after 5pm I call the shop. A guy named Jack answers. Says the car isnt done, they were behind all day. Wants to confirm the things being done because they werent sure somehow. Asks if Id gotten a quote. I say no, no one said anything to me. He quotes me $120 for the mount/balance abd another $125 for the alignment. Thats pricy for the work, car, and area and I tell him so. In fact, he corrects me, the alignment isnt $125, its $124.99, I was wrong. Seriously.I tell Jack I had expected the work to already be done and since it wasnt, to skip the alignment. Its more than the other shops on the same street and I dont have the time (Remember that last minute day off I had... boss was now trying to call me in and my day is going sideways fast). Jack assures me the tire portion was 70% done and it would be ready in 30. I make him promise me hell call when it is. Great, late, but at least its almost done.5:30 rolls around and still no word. My boyfriend drives me to the place, where I see my car is still on the lift and they are working on someone elses vehicle (nice guy and his 2 kids, I feel bad that they can practically see the tension rolling off of me). We then sit in complete silence for another 30 minutes, now well past the shops 6pm closing time, as I watch them finish up Nice Guys car and cash him out, leaving only me and my mounting rage. Remember, I work service, I know it could have been handled better.Its now 6:18...car is done, Jack says. Tells me the TPMS sensors I supplied wont read on their machine (they reset with driving milage, but what would I know). Asks if I want to bring it back tomorrow when someone else can look at it. I politely decline. It comes out to $112.28 for the mount balance. I go to hand him cash, he says he wants a card, he cant make change. Told him Id rather pay in cash its ok, I have exact. Jack then puts away my money into a drawer full of other change. Yup.Get into car, start to slowly drive out of the shop. Breathing deeply to calm down. Then I notice my car is making noise in the drivers front wheel area. Its rhythmic and regular and gets louder with speed. Ive driven all of 40 feet. Pull into parking lot next door, the wheel weight is rubbing against the caliper, somehow. Some way. Flip around and drive it right back. Theyre baffled. Take it back to fix it. Its now 6:25pm. We leave, finally, at 6:41.If I could leave no stars, I would. Utterly disappointed.

After convincing me my car wouldnt pass inspection because passenger mirror missing I didnt have it done just has oil changed. paid then left looked at my bill and they charged me for inspection so i went back took 30 mins to get my money back! I get home and look up nys inspection regulations and surprise like I thought you do NOT need passenger mirror!!!
Waited over a month for the inspection guy to get his license! Finally got my car in for an oil change and inspection. They called me and said my car failed inspection due to the tire condition, they then tried to convince me to buy $600 tires from them. When I said no and went to pick up my car the price magically decreased when he tried to get my to buy the same tires for $450. They told me my tires were too bald to drive and would not give me a temporary inspection to get a second opinion. They didn’t bother to show me the measurements or anything! He continued to tell me the car is a hazard on the road and I should buy the tires and let them take care of it there. It was clear that I was a young female they thought they could take advantage of! I took my car somewhere else that same day and not only did the inspection pass they stated I have at lease 15,000 miles before I need to think about new tires! I will never go to Monro again they try to rip you off and I certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone else to go their either!

Horrible mechanics... and their customer service is worse.In fact, the responses they give on here alone are all predfined, one guy said he got mushroom sauce from them and they responded theyre glad he was satisfied with their services....Go to a real garage, with real mechanics, not these high school drop outs.
I cant give them a horrible rating because I have to admit, they got me out of a small jam. It was just a REALLY long wait for a fairly simple job that I had an appointment for and ended up lasting like 6 hours. The gentleman who ran the office I think just has to learn how to tell people no. He was very nice though. I recommend the place if you are in a jam, but I would not as your regular car repair place.

I was recently at shop 106 in Oneida NY to have my brakes checked and no surprise I needed new pads and rotors all the way around. Assistant Manager Justin and his assistant were amazing. They were very helpful and informative and even stayed after hours to complete the work and made sure that I got back on the road safe. They were very good about getting me in the same day to have my Cars State Inspection done,as I had recently been in hospital and had totally forgotten about it,So was driving around with A expired Sticker. Had called somewhere else and they wouldnt even offer to get me in for another 4 or 5 days!! When I got there for my Appointment,they got me right in, they were very nice and helpful. Will definitely be back and would recommend them if asked.
They always treat me very well. I always come in for oil changes and they always take the time and go over my car and make sure everything else is well. The guys there are so nice and always answer my questions and give me the best price. I been coming here for 6 years and I never go anywhere else
Staff is amazing!!! Very accommodating!!! I’m from Oswego so it’s like I’m always using this location as a last minute heading out of town and forgot to get my oil changed or I have a flat. Monroe has been doing my familys auto work for years. A few years back the service went down a level but my man Don brought that back up to top notch in my book! Did an amazing job on my back breaks after finding out silver City had completely destroyed my back brakes and then they were able to tell me to that there was no way they fixed my exhaust the way they were supposed to be replacing the flex pipe and it was very clear they didnt replace it they told me and thats why my the exhaust started leaking again after 2 months of having it back from them. Would recommend here if youre looking for a good place to do work to your car.

Careful and honest workmanshipWe are from Boston and had a car breakdown on the highway I-90 today when we were travelling 300 miles away from home. We had no idea about where we are, just tapping the GPS for the nearest repair shop. Most of the local shops refused to service our Jaguar except this shop. We first visited Ford NYE and they sent us this Monro for oil chance and break check-ups.The senior technician spent at least an hour for our car whether it is safe to drive another 300 miles to home. He gave us an assurance of safety after his thorough inspection but he charged us only $19.99 for oil change.He was friendly and helpful with a full of compassion. I really appreciate their service and for them to be good Samaritans. Careful and honest; I would definitely recommend this shop.
Monro has a great atmosphere and the employees are always very helpful going above and beyond for everyone they provide for. Ive brought in numerous vehicles All having their own issues but the employees are all straight forward and are looking out for everyones best interest even if it means they miss out on something bigger and better. Anther great experience getting my car fixed. I’ve been taking my car here for 5 years and they are always HONEST and courteous. My car is always repaired correctly at a reasonable cost. I will continue to recommend Monroe Muffler in Oneida for the work they do.
I returned to Monro to request they rectify a problem. When I had my oil change and NY State inspection in the past 3 weeks, the mechanic C Ricky Chen, put the lug nuts on so tight they could not be removed. I was changing the brakes, that I also was advised was needed, and broke 2 bolts as well as ruining 10 lug nuts Justin, who manned the desk, was very receptive to assisting me, but Ricky refused to replace the bolts. Ricky also told Justin he does not use a torque stick. I left without having the repair, as Ricky was the only mechanic on duty, and I refused to have him work on my vehicle again. Justin provided me with the 2 bolts, that I took home and did the repair myself.I am extremely dissatisfied with the mechanics attitude and his refusal to own up to his mistake.

My family and I just moved back to the area and when I called Monro for service with my vehicle I was pleasently greeted on the phone by Dante. He took the time to figure out what I needed, didn’t try to rush me and was very professional. When I arrived at the store for my appointment, Tony the store manager was also great! He knew I was in a time crunch and moved my appointment up to accommodate me. It’s hard to find good customer service today and without a doubt Monro Muffler gave me that! I definitely recommend doing business there! A+
Went in on Friday, scheduled for following Tuesday, showed up on Tuesday 8:30am to have transmission fluid changed and inspection. Called at 1:30 to see if vehicle was done said they wouldnt have time today. Good thing I scheduled and had people drive me around. When I showed up he said the bolts were difficult to get to. (Jk wrangler) 65+ an hour and you say difficult, who else would do this job besides mechanics? So I left since my vehicle wasnt touched. Imagine any other professional saying I didnt do my job because it seemed difficult, military, police, doctors, teachers ... where would America be.
The person in charge was very nice and resourceful. I am a newbie and really appreciate that much information about my car and ways to take care of it. I am very satisfied. :)

I had an appointment for a routine oil change. The supervisor on duty helped the customer in front of me and before checking me in, answered the phone and ignored me. In a customer service world, you should be helping the customer physically in front of you rather than answering the phone. Ultimately, I was checked in 16 minutes after my appointment time. The supervisor complained about the phone and didnt mention anything about extended wait times. My car was finally taken into the shop 40 minutes after my appointment time. The oil change and tire rotation itself did not take an unreasonable time but I had to prompt the supervisor to see what was going on once it was done. The mechanic was apparently new and cant reset the light? He left the car, hood up, in the shop and went to get a new vehicle while the supervisor complained about the phone some more. I wasnt able to check out and leave with my vehicle for two hours and twenty minutes after my scheduled appointment. And, yes, I waited and confirmed that I was waiting. Not once did the supervisor, Howard, check on customers or give updates, instead he wandered around the counter and shop grousing about the phone ringing. The overall vibe of the shop was very negative; even others waiting for their cars mentioned that everytime they come in this is true. I have used this location in the past for other vehicles and have always been on the fence about whether I would return. This latest experience has definitely sealed the deal. I will not be back to this Monro.

Called a day before for a 730am appointment. No one was even there until 8. Kinda sad I have to wait 30 minutes becuase they cant get to work on time . Then they brake off 2 studs and cant even give me a time when they will be in. And never even apologized for being late in the first place. I am never never going back.Update:They did pay to put my winter tires/rims on for free. Though the swap is only. Like a 20 buck job anyways. Either way this gesture made the review go from a 1 to a 3.

Check engine light came on brought it to them paid $100 diagnostic fee. They said I had cylinder misfires in 2, 4, and 6 said it was the spark plugs on one side and recommended to change all 6 sense they had to remove the intake on my 06 Cadillac cts. I said ok and told them that something similar had happened a while back and was the coils. They told me they would check the coils. They said all coils were good and everything should be fixed after spending $600 on a tire up just changing 6 sparkplugs. They check engine light came back on and its reading the same codes as befor I brought my car in and now sounds worse! After bringing my car back to monroe they spent a whole day looking at it trying to figure out what was wrong with it to tell me that they dont know and when I requested a refund the district manager tried offering me $160 back out of $600 saying they feel they have resolved my issue when the same code is still on my car and they never fixed anything at all and wasted my time and money.

My boyfriend brought my car here to get new tires. One tire was losing air quickly so I brought it back to get it checked and was talked to in a very condescending way and felt like I was being treated poorly. I went somewhere else and paid someone else to fix it. I didnt appreciate being treated like that. I Wont be taking my vehicle there again .

Always come here. Theyre knowledgeable, courteous and capable. They dont only know tired, brakes and mufflers, but their mechanics are knowledge about autos in general. They have installed sususpention racks on my 4x4, reattached my lose rear quarter panel on my two year old Malibu and always smile. Kodos to them and especially Dante, Tony, Howard!

If possible I wouldnt give the any stars. They lied about what they were doing. Overcharged for things I didnt need & things I did. I had to go to Mavis to repair what they did to my vehicle. Absolutely would NOT recommend them!!

I went to Monroe last week. For a oil change. And they asked me what kind of oil I wanted to have in my van. I told them Castro and said ok and after .Manger told me the price I said I be back for my next oil changed. I give the store a 5 star.

Called, made an appointment 3 days in advance for 1pm. Show up before my appointment, to be told its a 2.5 wait. I leave my car their and call 3.5 hours later, to have them tell me my car hasnt even been in the shop yet. I get things happen; I my self work in auto retail, but when you are unable to deliver a promise, call the person. I show up 4.5 hours later, to have my car not even be in the garage yet. I leave with the car and my tires. Bad customer service.
