I went here because I had no insurance at the time and was having panic attacks. The therapist was nice, but the staff kept changing my appointment times and when referred to a psychiatrist, they diagnosed me for something else than what I actually have and refused to give medicine.Then came the bill. I had a low paying job and the staff said I was on a grant that covered the appointments. Well a $1000 bill later on said otherwise. And it was 4 months late because they never sent me one in the first place and it went to their internal collections. I made multiple calls to set up a payment arrangement,but I was constantly referred to a number where you have to leave a voice-mail which I did many times. I got a call back 3 weeks later saying to call the same number and sure enough, it went once again to voice-mail.Stay far away from this clinic if you need help. So unprofessional.

This is a great place for people with low income. They have a sliding fee scale, and the prices are really good. Its great for your normal health care and needs, and they even have a dentist office. They also offer dental.

Staff is usually a little snooty, which I put up with because my Dr is professional and nice, but my nurse at my visit today was SO rude that I will not be returning. I have extreme social anxiety as it is, and she was so horrible that I had to fight the urge not to run out without seeing the dr!

Charles Drew allowed me to finally work on my health, both physical and mental. Like many, I’ve struggled to maintain health insurance through work, and the few times I’ve had insurance I’ve not been able to afford both the insurance payments and doctors visits at traditional offices. I’ve been able to manage my physical and mental health with their sliding pay scale.No, it’s not always perfect, but it’s been amazing to grow as a person through the services they offer and they’ve completely saved my life. Their nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors have given me hope, and they truly do gods work for their community.I’m in nursing school now and I would love nothing more than to help people the way they’ve helped me.Thank you so much for the hard work you guys do!

If there was something less than one star, that would have been my best option to give this facility. Three of my kids had appointment for immigration physical with Dr. Philips. After the first visit, they were booked for a follow up in one week. After a few days, I was called to make changes because Dr. Philip said she will not see all of them the same day. As a result of the changes, I forgot the exact time for one of them. I pulled them from school today and went for the appointment despite the rainy weather here in Omaha Nebraska today. The appointment for one of them was by 2:15pm but we got there by 2:28pm. Dr. Philip refused to see anyone of them. We waited for two hours and half yet she did not see my kids. They missed their classes for nothing, plus the derogatory treatment we received from one of the front desk girls called Diane. The appointment was for 45 minutes for each of them, so, for a whole ninety minutes she had it for herself despite the fact that I paid $1000.00 out of pocket for this visit. I do not think anybody should treated like this. Granted that I missed the first appointment, what about the second child that was there as well? It is a shame that this is how people are treated here.

Amazing staff hello little bit of problems with the Main appointment set up Clinic when it comes to then making sure that every time I make an appointment that Im on the transportation list I havent done so well but the driver Darby you always make sure that I have a way to get there even not being on the transportation list because he knows I have no car so its not a problem because he knows I live the Stephen Center as well I really dont have nothing else that much to save negative about Charles Drew because my therapist Mission Joyce is amazing my psychiatrist I do mean to somehow get through to mrs. ODell about understanding that my meds Im not helping me anymore and to be taken off another one but she still amazing phinehas up as well amazing quick help with getting a referral sheet so I can get in to get my dental work done fast easy service listings as well for 10 minutes is very fast but with the results theyre patient portal that they have as well as amazing so quick and easy to see your results in mens intro on employment times and then you can also set up appointments and transportation along with it if it wasnt for meeting Donald over at Lydia house Open Door Mission for the nicotine class I wouldnt even have thought of taking care of them things that I really need to take care of physically Im going to leave for myself I want to thank Donald for that number one I dont want you as well thank Mr Joyce this is no Dale Tiffany Darby Johnny too cuz he was the first driver for me to my appointments and as well as all the other staff at campus for hope location Grant Street and 30 Metro

I couldnt be MORE IMPRESSED!! Everyone I came into contact with staff wise at Charles Drew was so nice and professional. I got in at my appointment time, and everyone from the front desk ladies, to the nurses and the dentist were so helpful and informational. They let you know what they were doing and when, and also educated me on procedures and things that the normal person wouldnt have any idea about. I believe my nurses name was Monica and my dentist is Dr. Askgar (sorry if its misspelled!!) I left with peace of mind knowing Ill be in good hands. 100% recommend!

I had dentures made at Charles drew and they were not very well fit.in the span of 2months i had take them in for repairs 3times.and several ajustments.the wire broke and then they broke in half while i was drying them.cheeks drew said get they had to charge me for the fixing of the denture.and they told me i should go. Somewhere ekse to getmy dentures.they did fix then for free.but when i went in to get then they Judy handed them to me abs that was it.after i got home they broke again 2 days later.so bite Im stuck with a top denture and two teeth on the bottom.its almost impossible to chew food.Im wise Id than i was before i went to the dentist at Charles Drew.

In many ways this is a great health clinic. They have a sliding fee scale and majority of the people who work there seem to care very much about their jobs.But when you need a referral it can become a mess. Unless you call and follow up yourself, you may wait a while to hear from anybody. Even with testing results at times.When the scheduling coordinator for specialist referrals called me she was not honest. She said she just called me because I magically just showed up on her list right then - there was no truth to that - after prodding she admitted she only called me right then because she got prompted to by another employee after I called them earlier that day - after me for waiting 5 weeks to hear from her.The Center is forcing you to apply for Medicaid whether you may get it or not since it’s been expanded (the Medicaid expansion is good) or you will not get a scholarship to get a referral to a specialist even when urgent. Otherwise you self-pay. Most people don’t go to Charles Drew because they can self pay. This is the referral programs decision, not Charles Drew.Medicaid expansion doesn’t go in effect until October 1. With this new situation you could wait 4-5 months to see a specialist. That’s bad because you need to see a specialist for a reason. Charles Drew does not control the programs that are giving scholarships to patients without insurance, but some employees there can be more on it with following up with patients and referrals because it can add a month or more onto your wait time to see a specialist. A few areas at the clinic could improve on organization.The staff I’ve dealt with have been wonderful. It’s an excellent facility that I would recommend to others.

I just waited for 4 hours on the phone to schedule an appointment for the covid-19 vaccine to find out that they simply changed their age policy ( 50 and up instead of 18 and up), they should have announced that change at the first of the call, better than wasting people’s time 😡

OK, WELL WHY DIDNT YOU SCHEDULE THAT? THEN SHE SAYS THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY FOR NEW PATIENTS SO IM OUT OF LUCK. YOU WONDER WHY POC DONT TRUST THE HEALTH SYSTEM?

Do not go here. They cancel your appointments and only tell you once you arrive. They assure you everything will be covered by insurance, and then slap you with a $300 bill. They make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to pay the bill with their absolutely INCOMPETENT staff. You can call billing half a dozen times over a week only to get their voicemail and never receive a call back. You’re better off literally anywhere else. Don’t waste your time with this place.

I have a 4 year college degree and have never been without insurance but in March my chronic conditions became beyond my ability to manage. I was referred to Charles Drew and I experienced dignity, and sincere care from the staff. I have used CHI, and Nebraska medicine in the past and Charles Drew exceeded the care I recieved with these health organizations. You might wait a bit on your appointment being called but the staff take the time to assess everything. I was referred for mental health & a specialist they partner with. I didnt have insurance but they took me to a DHHS coordinator right on site and she filled everything out. Great experience. Im getting my meds now and still am disabled but not completely tormented by my conditions. God bless Charles Drew staff.

Kind and helpful staff! I have no job or insurance, and theyre sliding scale rates helped me get the problems with my teeth taken care of!! Dr. McCoy way fantastic! I would recommend them to anyone that doesnt have a regular dentist or doctor!

Good doctors

This place is always overly busy. The doctors have a tendency to say things like, Lose weight instead of offer real world advice on health. Doctor Ochuba specifically made me feel like my visit was a burden and an imposition. He seemed harried, rushed, and generally disinterested in details about me that could have helped my medical needs.

I called for an appt. Scheduling said I had one. When I get there they say I dont and the staff is unwilling to help me when I have 2 broken feet and can not walk. Its obvious they dont care about the community bc idk why u wouldnt help someone when u can c what kind of condition theyre in. I wouldnt send my dog there for treatment. I have never felt so unimportant and disrespected by the very ppl who take an oath to try and help humanity. WOW I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. I WONT B BACK EVER.

Good place to get medicine thats hard to afford

I have been here a time or two. This place actually helped me get my tooth fixed when it was not doing so hot. The dentist was very very polite and made sure that all my needs were accommodated to. The procedure was fast and effective. That was about 10 months ago and my tooth is still just as good as the day I got fixed. The environment overall is pretty relaxed and the staff is very professional. I will definitely go back there if I need something Medical or tooth wise done. Prices are fair and the people are pretty cool

I had to take my cousin who was ill for a few days. He told them of his ailment. The first appointment was the next day. When he arrived he was in within 10 minutes. His symptoms were treated and much better the next day.

Im taking their fathers for a lifetime course which is amazing. Fathers that want to become better fathers need to take this course. They serve all demographics.

You can go here and see a doctor, or you can see a dentist, see a eye doctor, and you can even get your medication here, they go based on your income, and it can even be free, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the doctors really really good at what they do.

Dr. Bradley Smith and his Dental Assistant have been very good to me. I appreciate how gentle, and friendly they both are. You know Ive been to different dentists and for some reason, I felt more comfortable with Dr. Bradley and his assistant than any other dentist in Omaha. And wow they did a perfect job. They deserve an award, they honestly do.

Amazing facility, outstanding doctors and staff... I felt safe and comfortable with the first appointment I ever had there. Definitely worth the visit, after a traumatic surgery, my doctor made feel understood and completely safe!

I currently dont have insurance and was recommended to come here. My husband works with a woman who used to work here and she recommended I see Leslie Karass. She was amazing and incredibly helpful. They ran several tests and did a couple procedures and I was always well taken care of and everyone was friendly and professional. She even helped me switch to a different type of birth control and answered all of my questions so I was well informed. My bill was only $35. I highly recommend going here if you have a situation like mine in which youre low income with no insurance.

I went to the dental services for an infected back tooth after a horrible experience with another area dentist. When I called the lady was caring, understanding, and ready to help! I went in the next morning and received the care that I should have been given elsewhere! Thank you very much for the help.

Received several warnings not to go here . .. didnt listen. .. glad I didnt. Majority isnt always right. .. they were very helpful wait time wasnt that long and I was treated without pay. As I dont have insurance. This place is amazing. Of course some of the staff are irritable, theyre over worked. But they werent rude and I was taken care of in a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes that includes wait time and I was a first time patient. Thank you Charles Drew!

The service from hospital is poor. You need money and insurance to get results. I called three different times to pay my bill. I even got a confirmation number, but the next month I received a notice that the payment was not recieved. I called again, and they told me to call back next month. Another notice came in the mail. I called today and someone who did not speak English told me she would have to call me back because her computer was frozen. Im glad I dont have a serious illness.

I love Charles Drew. The fact that they have health care centers inside of schools is phenomenal. They are always trying to be better. Friendly staff and all docs nurses dental etc. They are very community minded.

African male interpreter no respect for women . Bumped into me with little space to get by in his hand accidentally hit my behind I dont believe it was an accident. Dr. Ochuba has no respect and doesnt like to be questioned because he cant / wont answer questions about your health.

I came in today @ 2:05 pm to get my tooth pulled. I filled out the paperwork and immediately I’m asked if I need assistance paying for services. I decline (I’ve already read up on roughly how much it’ll cost after insurance) and hand my insurance card over. I wait for about an hour and I’m called back up to the front desk, the lady tells me they didn’t get my x-rays via email from Comfort Dental, that whoever received them might have deleted the email. I’m standing there like what 😑 so I call the dental place that should have sent the email to Charles Drew dental and she states that she sent them 3 times. At this point the lady at the front desk tells me, well if they weren’t able to pull your tooth we probably can’t either, then goes to recommend other places. Defeated and slightly annoyed I just accepted that I wasted an hour and a half here. I’m sure the other staff members are great but I won’t be returning.

Great nurses and caring staff, however the administrators and executive side needs a huge uplift! Lost paperwork multiple times, and communication is horrible. They send bills even after having insurance information and payment info (losing that too). Not a trustworthy clinic by any means with personal information. Horrible experiences over the span of 18 months. I don’t recommend this clinic at all.

I was worried after reading reviews but my experience was very pleasant. Everyone from the front desk to the nurses and nurse practitioner made my transition from previous Dr to CDHC smooth. Love someone who is at salvation army adult rehab. THESE folks pulled his broken infected, loose teeth and placed them with dentures . They did it at reduced cost. Still gettin the hang of them! There is a lot of help here. Supervised the falloutfrom his alcohol withdrawl. These ppl save lives. Very greatful!
