I mailed my daughter a present and an employee stole it. I called with proof that it was delivered and signed for. They did replace it but you cant trust anyone. Also, it is far from the cleanest facility. Environmental services and nursing need to do a better job.
My husband has been a patient in the rehab part for a little over a week. Everyone seems very kind, even though I understand that they are short staffed. Ive been a little frustrated because I dont get to see him as much as Id like, but I understand that rules are set in place because covid is starting to flare again. They deal with my frustration with kindness. I know my husband can be a handful and I appreciate that they seem to be taking very good care of him in spite of him being a grumpy old man! I dont really have anything to compare them to, but I have to think that they are among the best places to be.
Please do not send your loved one to this so called facility!!! Read reviews first before making a decision! This place is terrible & should be closed. Started off with continued calls to my mother when my 80 year old father was going to be discharged from Nebraska Medical Center after having pneumonia & needed to go to a rehab facility before coming home. The social worker Marlene lied to my mother & the hospital saying we had chose them when we did not. We were still looking at our options when they made it sound like insurance had accepted them & started the transfer process. We didn’t know what else to do so we said ok. An ambulance company called us asking for payment up front to move him there. He arrived with no medication & incomplete records. Not sure who’s fault that was. They did not even know how much oxygen he was supposed to be on. My father had to tell them. And thank God he was alert & could remember this information. Meds were brought the next day but he has to keep reminding them to give him his insulin & check his blood sugar & to give him other meds. They have his oxygen connected to a generator ? that is so loud he can’t sleep. He is scared of his welfare now as are we. Staff was mean to him & nurses would never come. He was completely miserable!! Finally got him transferred to another facility after days of phone calls. Place was dirty looking & so old & dilapidated. Please check reviews of facilities before placing your loved ones there.
Staff is very nice and professional, my daughter is well cared for. Clean and I recommend it to all.
I was welcomed by security who thoroughly checked me in. Very kind and professional. I had conversations with the ED as well as nursing and both were a breath of fresh air. LTC has many challenges even currently with the pandemic. You can tell by the energy that it is a great place.
DO NOT send your loved ones here. First of all the place is not very clean. There was a 14 day quarantine. You were aloud in the building with out mask. We were aloud in the admissions office with no mask. This is not the way to keep out Corona virus. River City should not allow. People at all in the facility if they are worried about the Corona Virus. During the ten day stay. The husband fell twice, he only seen the doctor once. Only received medication once. He could only take a shower twice a week at there convince. He had a bed sore that was infected from not being cleaned and bandages changed three times a day. He missed Doctors Appointment. A staff member cancelled the appointment with no knowledge to the family. The food was not nutritional, it was spoiled. The excuse is they are short handed. No excuse, just poor management. Then I picked him up early on July 26th when discharge date was 27th. The social workers were supposed to set up home health care here it is August 5th and still no return phone calls. The doctors office called the July 26th to talk to the nurse and still no response. So if you really care about you loved ones, Do Not send them to River City Rehabilitation. Bad,Bad,place. Im a reasonable person. No excuse for stupidity.
I would not recommend this place for anyone. The food was horrible. every time I called I could not get a hold of anybody. they quarantine you for 2 weeks even if you had your covid vaccinations.the place looks like its somewhere out of the seventies and dirtymy family member was there for almost 3 weeks and I did not get to visit her or come into the facility one time my family member would call me daily crying that she was in pain because they were late on her pain medication overall experience horriblealso my family member asked for a shower for I think 5 days finally got one on the 5th day no wonder why she ended up with a UTI and got confused and nobody even paid attention to it
Very professional interview. Had and may still have a cousin who stayed there. I think this will be a great fit for me with this Company. Hope to join your team in the near future. Thanks
I have to be honest. When we knew we were sending our mother to a rehab center we were worried. We are blown away by the fantastic job River City Nursing and Rehabilitation has done for our mom. She needed therapy after a fall and she came home two days ago in the best shape in years. The staff at River City are kind, generous and really treat their residents with care. Also, really cute programming.I’d give 100 stars if allowed! Thanks for helping us to the fullest extentFrank
Friendly staff. Wonderful with answering questions
Majority of these false ratings are employees told to rate 5 star during orientation. Very very unorganized business, extremely short staffed to the point residents are not getting proper care they deserve. residents have gone 17 days without baths, I’ve seen this with my own eyes, as I’m ashamed to say I’ve ever been employed here, please research immensely before placing your loved ones in a nursing facility
Dont put your family in this place they mop the floors with towels and its the same towles the residents get .They are so under staff because all the aides walk off the job they tell one thing and do something different . All the cooks quit all the nurses quit you will be sorry if you put your love one in there
Positive experience at every turn. Have a sister there as a resident and am very pleased with the progress she has made, almost set to go back home. The staff at every level has been exceptional.
I love River City Nursing. My grandfather was here a year ago and he was so happy, until he passed. The therapy dept and the nursing staff really gave him the care he needed. Some even showed up to the funeral. I miss papi, but he’s in a better place.
Very welcoming. Very nice.
Positive changes are happening! Owners are very involved and some great nurses 😊 Pay could be better..I love my residents and what I do, once 100% staffed with people who are compassionate and love what they do as well and improve food services it will be 5 stars!! Good things take time!! Overall a work in progress. and great place to work . ❤️
I love working here and the staff is awesome! The residents are happy and appreciate the employees and all their hard work that make the facility what it is. This place used to have a bad reputation a few years ago, but it has really changed for the better due to new ownership/management coming in around a year ago. I love the positive working environment!
A family member arrived at your facility covid negative direct from hospital, was put in the isolation unit, standard protocol, only staff allowed, contact is minimal, no PT has been given either, we only have phone contact with patient, no one from facility calls with care updates or any information for the almost 2 weeks they have been admitted. Then you spend 6 hours tying to call family member, no answer. Call nurses station, lucky draw someone answers, informs you the patient has been moved to another floor and room, get transferred, another lucky draw get another nurse and find out family member is now in covid positive unit with no phone either!! WTF! Dont take the patients if there is lack of staff and lack of PPE!
Staff is friendly, respectful, compassionate and truly cares for the residents.
If I could give zero star I would but the social worker earned the 1 star in the end, my family member was sent here for physical rehab from UNMC. from The time they picked him up it was a disaster. Left in his room for hours at admitting with no assistance did not receive required medications on time and not until 13 hours later approximately. Calls to nursing staff was not returned, no working phone in room. The shower in room was not a working shower. No meal provided all day and when asked was brought a dried out pb& j sandwich when complained was told they would try and find something from lunch left over, so very much was not satisfactory during less then a week stay wanted to discharge next day but was told might have to pay out of pocket then and would need to statly until a Dr could discharge that would be several days they even screwed up discharge no medications scripts provided that was fillable this is a cancer patient on hospice who had to beg for pain medication while in there never got meds on time, meals provided was rarely hot no menu ever shown and released with nothing this is where social worker filled picked up and delivered ... do not send your family members here, so much wrong here I could write a book.they tried to stretch out the stay I believe with these excuses something kept coming up why couldnt discharge even on the day of. had to wait another day or pay, my family member is now deceased and this was the worst experience of his life .
The atmosphere here is amazing! Everyone were smiling, enjoying each others company, very friendly and courteous. Hoping to be a part of this team soon.
Excellent caring staff.
This facility is wonderful. Wonderful staff, wonderful environment and wonderful rehab program. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.Nebraska’s best kept secret!
The staff I encountered were very nice and were genuinely concerned about their residents.
I love this place and this is my second time here. After the new ownership took over in October, I have seen many improvements. There is still more that can be done, but seeing the owners here on a weekly basis is very comforting.I have many friends here, staff and residents alike, and enjoy just hanging out a talking with everyone. Make sure to check out my flower garden I planted outside the activity room on the first floor, youll love it!
I have done work in this building several times. They have a great team and truly care about their staff and residents. Everyone is very friendly.
I was apprehensive in letting my loved one come to River City based on the reputation from years past, but I am glad I gave this wonderful facility a chance. My loved one suffered from chronic diabetes and was a amputee. During the time my husband stayed at River City the staff made me feel at ease from the moment I brought him there. Whether it was the wonderful restorative program that John was put on, the hot delicious meals served off a steam table with a homelike taste, or the carding floor nurses and aides who allowed me to rest assured that John would be taken care of even when I was not there. I saw many facilities that may look like a diamond on the inside but the care and compassion can not compare to the experience I had at this little building across from Bergan Hospital. I know in my heart of hearts John is looking down from heaven and happy that his last days he was given the dignity and care he deserved. To all River City staff and management,THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DID! LOVE, Margie
Since becoming a part of the maintenance team, I have found River City to be a very functional facility to spend my time with. The staff get along and work well together, and it seems that no matter which department they work in, wether it be the kitchen or even upper management, each person takes at least a few minutes each day to interact with and enjoy time with the residents.Thumbs up River City!
They need to have people that will return calls and not to be passing the buck for others to do there jobs for them.Terrible person to have as a nurse Mikaela Kohl !!! I will give new up date when my husband gets better care.I found out there are three wonderful people there that they must keep. Please try harder for goodness sakes.
Great place! Impressed with how they are running their infection control processes. I used to work in helthcare many years ago and can only imagine how tough it must be with this virus going around. Wishing these healthcare heroes continued success.
I was a short term River City resident for three months following double amputation to both my legs below the knees, a big shout out and Thank You to The University of Nebraska medical center and to River City nursing and rehabilitation, in just over seven months I am now walking once again and barely without the use of a walker even, the staff and care provided by River City those three months proved to be both professional and courteous, without River City I undoubtedly would be living my life out in a wheel chair. I am so anxious to return for a visit and to prove how all of the effort and hard work is paying off. A special Thank You to Ethel, Taylor, Anna and Lauren in therapy who made my swift recovery a success story.
My Dad was at this facility after suffering from his 3rd stroke. The rehab and nursing department took excellent care of him. He was always very happy at the facility and they kept me very informed regarding all of his care. He was eventually able to return home and is doing great!!! I would highly recommend!
My mom has worked here for 9 years!! Ever since the new owners took over it has changed so much! They do so many fun activities with the residents...I even bring my younger siblings to all the events, the residents love it!! I love being here so much and interacting with the staff and residents that I recently started working here in dietary! I would highly recommend working here!
I have only worked for river city nursing and rehabilition for about 3 weeks the staff and residents are very welcoming, i find it to be a great place to work and live!
Tara (Administrator), Savannah, (DON) have created an amazing Nursing team that supports each other to enable continuity of care for our residents. Management provides continuing education on many topics that allows us to provide superior care for your loved ones. I am proud to call River City Nursing my “home away from home”!
Amazing how it went from low rated Nebraska Skilled to River Cityand now has FIVE stars. Please stop the fake reviews. Nothinghas changed inside those walls except the name. Your loved onesdeserve better than this hideous place.
The environment is good and the staffs are welcoming.
One of the cleanest and Professional nursing home Ive been in
Love this place! Wonderful caring staff. Great residents! Come work with us or stay with us. We would love to have you. Yes
I had a great experience working with these folks. They are kind, respectful and really want what’s best for their residents and staff. Keep up the great work!
As a resident here I love just hanging out and getting involved. I love that my kid comes to visit me here and we can be a family again. The staff, especially the DON (SWG) are the best. They really take care of things and get it done. Patricia is also a great nurse. Evin in activities is fantastic, but she has some work to do with her poker game :)All in all this place has come a long way since the new owners took over. I love how the corporate team comes out here every week to oversee things first hand. (Aharon is the best - Merry Christmas). If you want to work or live here, just ask for me and ill tell you how wonderful the staff are!
The people I know at this facility are very happy. Great job guys!
Everyone is very respectful, kind and very helpful.
Most of the good reviews are from staff. I reported 2 incidents of spotting bed bugs amongst other rumored spottings. Residents not well taken care of and drunk nurses go missing for hours at a time. Most residents complain about being here bc they’re treated poorly. It stinks and was just an all around bad experience. Hopefully they do better by these ppl that have no choice but to live here.
They schedule you for an interview and dont let you know that the position is filled until you get there. Very unprofessional.
This place is fantastic great place to have your love ones. The staff is great! The activitys they do for the residents and staff to join are fun!
My sister loved this home especially the therapy team!
I work very closely with management at River City and I can attest to the dedication they have for the welllbeing of each and every resident.
My brother is there, and loves it. Great care and has a really friendly environment.
As a vendor, I cannot stress enough how much of a pleasure this facility has been to deal with!Aside from how smooth and seamless it has been, it is also evident that they truly care about their residents.
The facility needs to be cleaned the elevators need to be cleaner and use of hand sanitiser need to be a different kind alcohla based
New name, same awful people.
Really nice team!!
