My experience has been top notch right from the beginning of joining Genesis on Sprague. The facilities are completely updated, clean and Super functional. My favorite is the shake bar and the sauna. Staff are all highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Special shout out to Andrew Lorenz my trainer, every session has been solid, and I am already seeing results just a few weeks in!

This gym is what happens when you take your customers for granted. They randomly change kids club hours then dont update it on their website. Theyve cut the kids club hours basically in half since I became a member. Every single one of the basketballs in the basketball court is 5 years old atleast and they are always flat. The upstairs portion is rarely clean. A real disappointment because before covid this was a pretty nice place to go.

Bathroom is soap dispenser is broken in the womens bathroom. Always out of paper towels around the gym. If his was a 10$ a month gym I would not be this picky. Staff is always friendly though and welcoming that I will say

Beware of your membership cancellation!! I got charged twice after i cancelled my membership and i am told they cannot refund my money because they require 30 day notice. I will not return to Genesis after my 6 years of membership and I won’t recommend anyone.

Genesis bought out a previous Urban fitness, L.A. fitness, then a 24 hr fitness that had horrible equipment to begin with which is why they did horribly and added squat racks and charged people more money.. the gym is awful. The leg machines put way too much pressure on your joints to the point they feel they may snap. The trainers don’t ever correct the members throwing weights around and they break every decent machine because of it. Once the machine breaks you notify the front desk and no one fixes the machine for months and then they put it back together as cheaply as possible without testing it. Everything is crooked or has parts that don’t match. This is a horrible gym. This goes for the Cass location as well. At least 24 hr fitness put their machines back together properly and tested it. Genesis doesn’t give any care in the world if the machines are crooked once they put it back together, just as long as they work.

Andrew’s Saturday morning boot camp is a 10/10 and the best boot camp I’ve ever done in my life and I have done many! The only complaint I have is that sometimes there is not enough equipment to use that Genesis provides. I would love it if there were more equipment to use in this class. Thanks to Andrew for running an amazing class!

Wished the hours were expanded and opened earlier on the weekends. Corporate, please consider doing this for your members. The manager Andrew is awesome & has great customer service skills. Connor at the front desk is super nice, knows all the members by name, and is so positive it’s contagious. Kudos to Connor and his great customer service!

Have loved the experience I have had in the last three weeks with my trainer, Angie, and with Saturday morning Boot Camp. The Genesis Crew is going to help me change my life for the better!

I used to highly recommend Genesis for swimmers but it’s gone downhill in the last year. The pool is used for swimming lessons and/or classes that are not posted on their website so it’s became a regular occurrence to show up and not get to swim. I’m sure it’s great for some but no different than any other gym or the YMCA for swimmers. Not sure if management changed or what but they obviously feel swimming is not a valid workout anymore and the pool is just for fun. They’d never throw a class of small children on all the treadmills but one.

Lots of space and variety of equipment. Also has an indoor track and pool. Everything you need is here and the staff is willing to answer questions or get you a physical trainer if you need some feedback and tips on workouts.

The gym has decent equipment however, the bathrooms are not clean and the locker rooms smell terrible. Staff was not at all concerned or attentive to customers. What am i paying a membership fee for. Many other locations have been run into the ground since Genesis has taken them over.

Been a member for 7 years. Enjoy the Sprague facility. Close to home. Nice walking track and extensive weight equipment. Like having multiple Genesis locations in the city including Westroads. Good organization.

My sister in law got me a free pass. I had just lost my wife to cancer. This place really helped me out a lot. The trainer (Ethan) was great. I come everyday for at least a hour. I recommend this gym to my friends in my grief group plus other friends. Thanks again.

The temperature always seems just right. Any concerns or questions you have with Genesis-Sprague are taken seriously and quickly. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Heavy bags and indoor track are my biggest plus’s. The all around setup from machines to free weights is awesome too. Also they are pretty good about fixing broken equipment IMO. The only negative I have is not opening till four, it would be a five star if it wasn’t for that.

The trainers are always available for any questions about machine use or just questions for better health in general. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. Facilities are very clean and temperature controlled. I like this place.

One of my perks after working out is going to the steam room and for 2 weeks now this steam room is not working the whole time when it was the light for it has been out Ive expressed my thoughts on that several times and the front desk said the contacted about that issue and never got resolved so I just dealt with not having the light that supposed to be working.BUT to not have the steam room AT ALL is very frustrating since I and others pay so much for this membership that is so strict on not even being to bring someone in with you and actually why would I when you cant brag on your gym all the money you pay for this membership yes I said it again and the facility is not at its BEST. SO with that being said its very interesting how Planet Fitness charges less and they have a V.I.P. still cheap where you can bring someone just by you having a membership. But at the same time this gym is the closest to my home and very convenient to go to but the FACT still remains that it is very unfortunate that we pay what we pay and nothing is getting fixed whether it be the light inside the steam room or the STEAM ROOM itself. I have been to the other clubs and have seen things break down and not even less than a week it has been fixed so I am not understanding why this one is lagging behind on getting things fixed for its members. This is one of the only solace I am sure some of us have to go to due to the pandemic and it would be so NICE if things were in proper working order... you have wonderful staff here why not match that with fixing issues with things working properly. Chris at front desk is Amazing and very nice and has empathy to my plight and Im sure alot of others. So please understand if it wasnt for the disregard of not fixing this steam room issue for like I said 2 weeks then the STAR rating would be great. Genesis offers great classes and this location is the one closes to me. I enjoy all the classes but the main studio is so dirty, not sure who cleans it or how often is clean. I have complain about it. The people at the front desk are super nice and the instructors are AMAZING! That’s why I keep going back.

All of the above really.. it isvery friendly, spacious, running track, and a cool swimming pool. You wouldnt regret to visit.

The cons far outweigh the pros here. Believe me—save your money and go to a Planet Fitness or similar venue and you’ll be happier.To start, it took forever to actually get signed up with a household membership. The manager failed to respond timely to emails, had incorrectly quoted prices on paperwork (thank God we checked before signing anything), took forever to fix it, repeatedly forgot to get back with us, etc.Once we were signed up, we realized the equipment is nothing to scream about. Several machines will be broken for extended periods of time, and the handles and pads are worn down or missing on almost every machine.For real, go to a Planet Fitness. They have people constantly checking to make sure things are clean—in a pandemic, sanitizing spray and paper towels are always full—in a pandemic, and employees at least pretend to wear their masks properly—in a pandemic. None of these exist at Genesis. It feels like every other time I’m there I have to ask for them to refill the paper towels. I asked the front desk today to refill them and two girls were there, but told me it was another person’s job so I need to go find them. I figure maybe the employee would have the courtesy to go find “whomever’s job that is?”Not to mention the gross lack of sanitizing culture among members here. I definitely see people spray their equipment after use way less often than the opposite. Again, we’re in a pandemic.It’s not worth it, ya’ll. For a fraction of the cost you can get way nicer, newer, same caliber equipment elsewhere and not be trapped in a contract.

Great facility (particularly Sprague location). Clean, excellent equipment, friendly staff and members, wide variety of benches, stations, cages and machines. Sprague has a track and an amazing number of cardio machines.

I was a member here about 5 years ago. I moved out of town and when I moved back I rejoined. Some of the upholstery on the workout equipment was in the same poor condition it was in when I left. A lot of it is completely worn down and cracked with the foam underneath exposed. The Lifefitness machines are not well maintained at all either. What seems like 80 pounds on one machine feels like 100 pounds on the next one. A little silicone would do wonders. And why are the same two huge holes in the driveway still there from 5 years ago? Neither the interior or the exterior of this place is given the proper attention. The place seems really run down. The one at 144th and Center was a dump too. No wonder it closed down. Makes me question how committed the owners are to this place. Theres a lot of competition out there and most are in much better shape.

Been here 6 days a week since February, welcoming staff every single day and equipment always in good condition, occasionally broken but fixed within a week... Great price and great service

My trainer is excellent and the facilities are well kept. There is always someone to help you or encourage you. I have had numerous occasions when someone has called me by name, whom I didnt know and helped me up or encouraged me. I would definitely recommend training at Genesis and working out there! Zach is the best trainer and extremely talented and knowledgeable.

The gym has lots of classes to offer and gym equipment is always open. Staff is superFriendly.

The pool water is too cold. The aquatic classes are good except for the water temperature. The other locations have warmer water. The water temperature is not good for joints, which is the main reason we do water aerobics. I swim laps also and I never get warm. Since Genesis bought this location, the pool area has gone downhill!

Great location and the members are friendly. Would say that the equipment needs better upkeep.

This is my preferred gym in Omaha. I love all of the windows, it has all of the equipment that I use and like and all of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. ☺️

All of the staff really work hard to keep the whole gym clean and orderly. Just really wish they could invest in better equipment so the other gym members wouldn’t spend all their time breaking them.

The Sprague location has a variety of circuit machines, cardio machines and cardio equipment! I love walking the track!

The staff is extremely rude. And the women who take the swim classes in the morning are rude. Worth driving to a different location. The one off 77th and Cass is way better. The one on Center also friendlier.

This place needs alot of work....machines are in poor shape.

Andrew Lorenz is a fantastic trainer at Genesis Health Clubs’ Sprague location! He keeps me motivated in a constructive way to work toward my goals. He’s an amazing trainer and all-around one of the nicest guys I’ve met and I 100% recommend him!

Not upfront about fees and hidden charges

My daughter was wanting to work out and maybe even try a personal trainer. She signed a liability waiver and promised to pay $400 for that month. She met Sam, the personal trainer. She was given good advice. One month done. She thought that she was done paying extra. Now $40/month. Genesis kept charging the $457/month fee from her bank account. She talked to Ron, the manager. He stated that she signed a 6 month contract. $400 for 6 months. She was unaware of this and wanted to cancel. They did not let her do this and kept on with the charges. She can not afford this. Alexa still needs to pay for student loans. She cried. The whole issue of working out was to calm her stress and anxiety issues. Now doubled! Sam, the trainer is stealing money from her. Alexa works the night shift, but yet it is only Sams schedule that works out for herself. I cant understand and I feel great pain when when I see my daughter go through this anxiety and depression, screaming that she does not want to see her trainer, Sam, anymore. Sam is not understanding!

I never signed a contract and never used the spauge St gym. My wife went to cancel the account and brought a Dr letter stating that we both cannot use a gym due to up coming surgeries. I had mine and now disable but they claim I still owe monthly pmts even though we cancelled in October. I asked for a signed copy of the contract to no avail because they dont have one I never signed one but the keep on hassling me. Shame on genesis for trying to collect on a disabled person with doctors letter to terminate and I never even stepped foot in the gym once or even signed a contract. I will contact bbb and attorney general office on collection efforts and dishonest manager that cannot even produce a signed contract shame on you.

Needs more lighting in weights area, also there isnt even enough bars to fill all the benches and a few of the ones that they do have are bent. Equipment definitely needs maintenance and upgrading.

The gym is always in fantastic condition and has so many machines that are state of the art. The staff is super helpful and the personal training staff is top notch. They truly tailor your workout to your body type and what results you are looking to get. This is the best gym I have ever had a membership at.

I’ve had great experiences at Genesis Health Clubs. We use the kids club multiple times a week and love them. All the classes are awesome. The instructors are fantastic. They offer a new Barre class and it’s a great workout! Check out this location!

I love Genesis Sprague! The gym is huge and they have all the amenities I need. Nate Strehle signed me up and he is so nice. He set me up with Jon the training manager and hes really knowledgeable. I started training with Andrew and its going great. I highly recommend this gym! Go see Nate:)

Good gym for cardio. Free weights section is small and only has three squat racks. Can get cluttered at times.

Spacious. Cardio equipment upstairs, weights downstairs, womans sauna is clean and good size. Really enjoyed going there.

I love the all the different types of equipment that they have. I also really like the track and how much space there is. The staff is super friendly. The only thing that I can see they need is towel service and be open later. But all in all, it is a great gym and a great environment.

I’ve been a member at genesis for a couple months and this is one of my favorite locations! They have a great selection of equipment and I love that they have an indoor track. The staff have been super helpful too. If you’re looking for a new gym home, consider Genesis!

Hands down this gym has the most respectful and happy employees that I have ever seen. They handle every problem with care and do everything they can to make sure your experience is amazing. They also have great class instructors and overall this gym is extremely clean when compared to the other gyms in the Omaha area.

I absolutely love this location. I cant speak for the rest of them. Besides Jason at the Tara plaza location. He is always a phone call, text, or email away and I am very thankful for that. This Sprague location, I tried a workout class for the very 1st time in my life (about a month ago), and absolutely loved it. Ive been going 3x or more a week since. The instructors are great and assures everyone in each class that they are able to tweak the workouts to work for them and make sure everyone feels comfortable that go to them. My go-to classes are with Amber, Makayla, Beth, Stacey, and David. The daycare ladies are wonderful. My infant daughter has issues being away from me and they are so patient and kind with her and they will never know how much I appreciate that. My only complaints are the water class at 9:30 its mainly older people who come to socialize which is very rude to the instructor and those who come to actually get a workout in. I also dont like that the smoothie bar doesnt list grams of sugar in each shake. If any of you reading this are hesitant on getting a membership, dont be. The classes alone are worth it! I wish I wouldve done it sooner.

I have been going to this location for 3 years and what sets it apart from the other gyms is how friendly and personable the staff is. Nate the manager is always such a blast to say hi too, and he does a great job keeping the whole place staffed with awesome people (Kat, Mike the personal trainer)

Predatory gym, poor business practices, pushy salespeople, spam text messages. Avoid this gym like the plague if you value your money. Almost impossible to cancel your membership when you decide enough is enough.

Every single time I go to this gym, I feel refreshed and uplifted immediately after walking in the doors. No other gym have I ever been able to experience that! Plus, the staff is always very genuine and approachable.

I had a 4 star before because I didnt realize I was using the pool after certain classes. Once I changed my schedule of swim times I realized how much cleaner it usually is. These guys are great and you can tell they put in a lot of work to make the place nice.

I love coming to this club. They make you feel welcomed. Everyone seems to care. Emily our instructor is awesome, always giving you options on how to do the routines. Drew my personal trainer is awesome. Very patient and very friendly. He does a great job giving out pointer tips. He try’s to show me the proper way of doing stuff. He gives me tips on stretches when I’m sore. Austin & Shawn when we were in the process of singing up they made it so easy and were very helpful. My overall experience at this gym has been fantastic. John is a great trainer for the mind and body. He knows how to put fun into professional training! I’m with him two sessions a week and always look forward to how he’s going to challenge me each week.

Ive belonged to various gyms, and Genesis on Sprague is by far my favorite! The openness everywhere is amazing and makes you feel like youre not indoors. They are all so helpful, too.

Great gym..has all the equipment I need, plenty of machines; spacious and clean. I love the group classes, especially Pilates and Yoga...fitness instructors are always friendly and motivating.

I was a member with Genesis for about a year and a half. Im moving now and they require an in person cancellation, that alone is frustrating because you have to visit the location and remember how little the employees and managers care about you or their job. Apparently you cant just call them... The employee who canceled my membership also did not tell me about the 30 day cancellation policy, so when the gym charged my card again even after I canceled I was surprised, and that was on top of the cancellation fee. I highly recommend you stay away from Genesis as a whole (the same suggestion others gave me.. I shouldve listened). You can find other gyms that cost less and are just as nice in the Omaha area.

Love this gym so SO much! Best in Omaha! Very very clean and well taken care of. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Mark is great! Always takes time to answer any questions and take care of you! Even the other guests are great. As a younger female, I always feel comfortable and never intimidated. I recently started working with a trainer and Im very very happy with my sessions and results already. Brittany is wonderful! Tough enough to push me and still sweet and fun so its enjoyable! Great place to make positive life changes!

Good variety of group classes and many flexible times. Most instructors are good. Some have had the same routine for years (same music, same exercises, same moves). Would like to see changes to keep it fresh. I dont see management out greeting customers-ever. Front check in staff are friendly and helpful. The place isnt very clean. Can often see lots of dust on window railings and equipment. Dust bunnies in corner of track and group exercise area. Restrooms often out of toilet paper or towels. Seems like there is quiet a few pieces of equipment that needs repairs or maintenance. Its a good gym but with a little more effort could be great.

Clean facility and a great staff. Worked with Shawn and Marcus floor personal training, both knew their stuff and very helpful. Machines that break are usually up and running in 24 hours from my experience. Kid loves the kids club too so its fun for the family to come down.

I completely agree with who ever gave one start feed back on Genesis management and their financial system process .I joined for 2 years contract with 2 and half weeks trail period. I didnt like after 2 weeks and asked them to cancel my contract.They charged me total app. $340+. $45+ dollars when I joined and $275+ when I cancelled. later they changed $42+ on my checking account even after I completely out of contract. I called and asked they said sorry we forgot to inform you about final charge. I am happy that I came out of this contract. If not I have to suffer to see their faces daily! Specially the guy who signed me.Cannot trust this management. No Respect.****Not sure what Genesis upper management is doing *****. Employee work properly if management takes action on these comments and put proper rules on current management. It is effecting lots of customers due to this bad customer service from this location.No Respect for people after sign the contract. Everyone .. please be careful before you sign any contract. Do not trust what they say, those words all up in the air after you sign the contract.

I like the location and all the ways to exorcise from the pool, the free weight area, the machines, the classes and the walking/running track. It is an all around exorcise experience. The staff is very friendly and are ready to help you.
