I would give 6 stars if I could! It is rare to find a company that is so responsive and provides the quality that Total Construction does. This was my first time using the company and they performed flawlessly. They did a wall repair in my garage that I needed done quickly. Keith arrived on time and completed the task faster than expected. The wall looks perfect and he even cleaned everything up afterwards. The owner called me to follow up and insure that everything was done to my satisfaction. Excellent quality and fast service! I highly recommend them!
I have never been more disgusted with a company and its owner, (Kevin) It took just over 2 years for them to break ground on our project, thanks to the lying estimator Chris. The fact that an owner could be unaware of this project and just let it sit for that long without questioning it is beyond me. Once they started work they said it would be an 8 to 12 week job, it took almost 6 months. Not to mention when they started the work, they had a permit to break ground and we were told all was good with what we wanted. Turned out, that was completely false. Nothing was built the way we thought it would be. We were told one thing then got a call after they started saying the city would not allow it. So we were stuck since the work had already began. When things were going Kevins way in the beginnig things seemed ok, but when we started noticing issues he became unresponsive and when he did respond he was rude and hostile. It was a terrible experience, so incredibly stressful for my husband and i, and I would never recommend using this company. Side note, Ive looked through some of these other reviews and Im always suspicious of people that give 5 stars to a company that have only reviewed them and no one else. I saw at least 6 reviews where total was the only company they reviewed. And Total Construction has only replied to my review on the BBB, saying they want to sit down and talk, that we have a outstanding balance, and they apologize to us and say they want us to be pleased with their work. That is what I call narcissistic behavior. They will respond to a BBB review but wont call us... not to mention they were given a packet of pics and a statement of everything that happened. I have included just some of the pics of things we have had to deal with and we had to ask them to correct these things. When we did show concern, we were not met with kindness and apologizes from Kevin, it was frustration and annoyance.
I have not heard from anyone from Total Construction in over 4 months regarding a repair project after a storm. They had someone repair my roof in August/September 2020, and didnt have anyone here until early December to pick back up on gutters, siding and interior work. The last contractor not only didnt finish the job, but he didnt do it correctly and left a mess of debris and tools in my house and on my property. I have gotten no updates, phone calls or email responses since before Christmas and even prior to then I had to do all the reaching out to get any details on my project. I will be moving on to another company to finish the job.
This outfit does great work. Brent is very knowledgeable and give excellent guidance throughout the process. Quality work and a great guarantee too!
I would highly recommend this company! I had a good time working with them. They were super friendly, proffesional and willing to help in every problem I had. They were also very resourceful and flexible with my needs!
Our Experience was great from the beginning when they helped us with updates to remodel our kitchen. They gave us better ideas then we presented and stayed well within our budget. We were referred by a friend and were pleased with their professionalism and craftsmanship. The sad part is their reviews were not all good but we went with our feelings on how they presented themselves. We love their work prior, felt listened to during the process, appreciated how clean they kept our project and we will use them again!
During one of the bigger storms in 2013 I had roof damage. Total Construction was the one to replace my shingles. After everything was done I had paid my deductible and they said the rest had gone through my insurance so we were good. YEARS later.... they send a bill to tell me I have an outstanding balance of around $900. They got a new accountant person who found it. They said theyd do me a favor and take off the fees & a couple hundred dollars. Never ONCE did I get a bill or a phone call about this until this point. They dont believe theyre in the wrong at all for not contacting me until this point. I now have a few new things I need done to my house and will NEVER use this company again! Poor account management on Total Constructions part. Its not almost 2019 and were still dealing with this issue. They dont send out monthly bills either....just an e-mail to an old account telling me I need to pay the bill or theyll send it to collections. I think a company would CALL to tell you something like this... not a random e-mail.
I had the great pleasure of working with Total Construction Services after suffering from a large hail storm. They are a preferred contractor for Nationwide Insurance who sets very high standards to become a partner with them. They did quality work that is also covered by a great warranty. Ricky and Kevin were very professional and knowledgeable. No hardball selling, catching problems that other contractors never caught. They went above and beyond with service, product and workmanship. I would highly recommend using their company that provides fast quality service. Their office staff was awesome to work with as well. Great people to work with.
We added a master suite to the back of our house this past summer and we did most of the work ourselves. When we got to the point of joining the new roof to the existing roof, I was concerned about opening up the old roof and being exposed to the weather, (tons of rain in July /August). Ihave done a lot of remodeling but had never joined two roofs with a different pitch. I Called Total Construction and on very short notice they got a crew together of two guys that knew how to do this and they did a terrific job. The price was very reasonable and I enjoyed working with the two very nice guys they sent.I read some of the other reviews of this site, and I gotta tell you, in some cases, it sounds like you expect a company to wait on you like you are their only customer. If they do quality work and live up to their price quote and you can contact them when you have a question. Thats a good company in my book. If youve managed lots of employees like I have, you know unexpected things are going to happen. Give good people a break and dont be so crabby.
Total Construction is the real deal! The knowledge this company has about home repairs, construction and remodeling is quite impressive. Kevin and his staff really cares about you as a person rather than a job. There work ethic is beyond impressive. The only mistake you can make is if you call someone else.
Total Construction put new gutters on my home. They did an awesome job and took care of it in one afternoon. They had a machine that made the gutters right there in my back yard. As I had already purchased new gutter guards to install myself, the crew went ahead and did the installation for me. Work was efficiently completed and the workers were very courteous. Thanks Total Construction! Would definitely use them again and refer my friends.
Restoration work was requested on our garage doors. The technician arrived this morning and the work was completed to our satisfaction. He was really so personable, worked to make sure his assignments were done in a timely manner and we enjoyed his services. Thanks for sending him to our address. We will use the company again. Mike can return at any time.
My husband and I had a wonderful first time experience with Total Construction. Our 18 year old roof was in need of replacement. Our first thoughts were who do we entrust this job to? After our research we chose Total Construction for this project. They pride themselves in putting forth a customer centered experience along with the professional knowledge necessary to get the job done correctly. The work began as promised beginning with a personal phone call to us. The materials were delivered on time. Work began as scheduled and was completed with an inspection at the end. The work areas were left clean and our new roof looks terrific! Total Construction uses quality management principles into their business and it shows. They have a strong team in place to serve their customers. We intend to use them for all our future projects.
Working with Total Construction Services was a great experience for us. Friendly people from the minute we called in to get an estimate. All through the project we were having done there was great communication between everyone involved. I am very pleased with the services we received. When we do our remodeling of our basement they will be the first on my list to call. I would recommend them to all our family and friends.
These guys are great to work with. Very knowledgeable and professional. Immediately sent a crew over and got my flooding problem resolved! Thank you!!
We have been using Total Construction Services for years now and love all the work they have done. Every job, whether it was our roof, garage doors, siding, or gutters, was done quickly and promptly with no inconveniences. The service was friendly and worked diligently until each task was completed. After the job was done all of our questions were answered and there was no mess to worry about. Will definitely be using their services again soon and would recommend them to anyone.
Total Construction saved us! We are doing a kitchen remodel and when tearing out a wall ran into a pipe right in the middle! Called Total Construction on a Wednesday at 4:30 and someone was there to move the plumbing by 8:00 Thursday morning. So, our remodel has not been delayed in any way - thank goodness! Also had someone from Total Construction earlier in the week doing some skim coating and he was extremely professional and polite.
Total Construction Services performed a restoration to our families home after a fire and did a great job ! The job was completed quickly with little disruption or inconvenience. Rod, the project manager communicated well and answered all our questions and the workmanship was superb. No smell, no mess, no hassle. I would use their services again and recommend you do too. Thanks
Fast, professional, cost was worth what we spent and we stayed within our budget. We will use them again for other home projects. They updated our bathroom
Roof started leaking this spring due to some storms last summer. Total sent out a team to do a temporary tarp until insurance could be dealt with. Did my claim on a Friday and had a new roof by Tuesday! Very impressed on the time it took to get everything handled. Total even helped me through the entire process to make sure I was taken care of. Had them back out a few weeks later to install new gutters as well. They look and work great! Highly recommend Total for all your construction needs!
Thanks for the beautiful new deck you put on the back of my house. Your men were great. I really appreciate how they cleaned up and made everything look so good. This is the third time Ive used you guys for a project and look forward to the next improvement. Mark
A note of sincere appreciation to Total Construction for the timely repairs to our flooded basement this past year. Your immediate response resulted in avoiding further loss to both the carpeting and furniture. We found all Total workers professional and respectful. The work was performed as outlined in your estimate. We are happy with the quality of work and would not hesitate to use Total Construction in the future and recommend to other people.John Dobson
My company has worked with Total construction numerous times to help service their customers. They provide high quality work and are very detailed and organized. From construction to restoration they are top notch.
Ive used Total Construction Services multiple times, and will continue to do so. They have always been extremely helpful, on-time and their work is top-notch. The quality of their work surpasses those of companies that I have used in the past, and I have no reason to look further when I have a need that Total Construction Services can handle. I gladly and highly recommend them for any restoration or construction needs you may have.
Total construction replaced my roof 2 years ago. They did an excellent job, and cleaned up when finished. I am going to have them replace my deck this year. Would highly recommend this company. By the way they finished my roof in 1 day.
The bad parts of their shoddy work is too long to write here. When I asked them to come back and fix the problem, the supervisor said I was the problem. That nails coming through the top of the roof is normal...putting holes that leak rain onto my covered patio. He yelled at me so loudly that it caused my 90 year old mother with Alzheimers to think someone was attacking me. That was the worst. His treatment of a customer made someone fear for their life. I didnt, but scaring her by yelling was wrong. And I had to deal with her fearful repercussions. Awful. The company never fixed the problems. To this day the nails protrude from their shoddy workmanship. Plus they took the steel they removed when I asked them not to. I want it back. I was told they would return it, but they never did. In essence they stole it.I would not recommend them to anyone.
Total Construction and their crew were absolutely amazing! They were on time, courteous and our replacement roof was done exceptionally well. Will recommend them to any of my neighbors and family who ask!
I have worked with Kevin & Peggy at Total Construction on several remodel projects and would definitely recommend them, their services went smoothly and had great attention to detail. We will be using them on any future needs.
Total Construction has made a name for themselves in this market. They understand the true meaning of customer service and are professional from start to finish. I would recommend Total Construction to anyone, including my closest friends and family.Consider Total Construction for your next project and you wont be disappointed.
We sustained considerable hail damage early in 2011 resulting in $71,000 in damage to our home, from fence to windows to garage doors, gutters, wood deck, gutters, downspouts, steel tile like roofing and a 3 car garage with flat roof. Total Construction was a one-stop experience wheras they handled everything. They dealt with my insurance company and I signed the checks. They gave us a 5 year warranty which when I had a leaking gutter was handled without any hassle. The owner,Kevin Jackson, is a smart and very intelligent family man with lots of integrity. Who would think roofers would have an integrity award from the BBB, total Construction does. Their philosophy is to provide an experience to a customer that exceeds expectations; Its like having your own builder that you can trust. It has been two years since repairs were made and our home is really looking fantastic, although 36 years old. We have thank the customer oriented workers that are employed at Total Construction, they are really a great team and they have a great boss. When you need a roofer you can trust or a home improvement specialist call Total Construction and they will become your personal contractor.
Total Construction Services performed a major remodel of our home recently and we could not have been more pleased with their service and craftsmanship . The project was completed in the time frame as promised without any hassles . Thanks for the great job ..
Great Experience! Everyone was friendly, professional and on time. Would highly recommend Total Construction for any project.
GREAT Experience with our Sales person and the workers who came out and did the work!
First, the good. The work is completed very well and quickly once they actually got started. New roof and gutters look wonderful. The bad: 0 communication about dates. Nothing provided on when shingles will be delivered. Theyll just block your vehicles into your garage. I was given one date, 2 weeks passed and no new roof. I started calling and it was very clear I was annoying them wanting any information. Like they were doing me a favor for me paying them to replace my roof and gutters.I was promised the world by the guy who did my estimate and then I wound up being lucky my work was completed at all.I was told I would be notified before my gutters were installed so they could reroute one of the down spouts. That, of course, didnt happen. In fact, they moved a downspout to a different spot without consulting me first. I was then given a date that theyd be corrected and the gutter guy was a no show for several days.I found out after the fact, the company was supposed to send someone to do a walk around of the work completed, but that did not happen. Sadly, I noticed DAMAGE to my siding that the company caused after I signed off on the work. I can only imagine the amount of work that it would take on my part to have them come fix the damage. Ill just write this off as lesson learned and pay for the repair myself. If you have low expectations and are ready for them to be crushed and lowered further than you ever imagined, go with this company. I stand by, the finished work is great, but getting there ranks pretty high on my list of worst experiences of my life. I should really consider myself lucky they didnt kick me in the crotch when it was over.
My roof looks great they also cleaned up around the house you wouldnt even know they were there total took care of everything for me siding and gutters are next thank you Lyle Kevin Haviair
Kevin Jackson and his team at Total Construction were referred to me by a trusted friend. They are very professional and courteous and make customers feel like they are the top priority.I plan to use Total Construction for my next project.
We had hail damage last year and needed our roof and gutters replace. It was a huge hassle getting a hold of them for the repairs, and when they finally did come out to do the job, it was done incorrectly. We have been trying to get them to come out for the past month to get them to fix their mistake. They sent someone out a few weeks ago to inspect their work. The man told us he would be out last weekend to fix it and they still havent shown up. They have not called to tell us what is going on. I have to keep calling the insurance company to get them to do anything. I will NEVER use this company again and dont recommend them to anyone.
I enjoyed working with each person from the office staff to the workers. Thanks for doing a great job at my home.
Best Company to work with. This is #1 Contractor you need to work with.AAAA++++++++++++ i wish there was 1 more star i can give. Thanks for everything Total Construction
Total Construction does it all. Let Kevin and his team get your project done the right way the first time. Kevin will always be my Go to Guy for any home improvement projects. You can trust him too.
This is the first review Ive ever written on Google, and its well deserved. Please excuse the length of this review, but if you want to avoid a headache, keep reading.During a wind storm on 8/10/16 a tree fell onto my home.On 8/11/16 I called Total Construction as my adjuster had recommended them. I spoke with Morgan about getting an estimate, and they were not available until the next day, totally understandable. I told her the afternoon would work better for me to take time off, so we decided on 3:00 p.m.On 8/12/16 at 3:40 p.m. I called Total Construction and spoke with Tonya. I asked where the estimator was as it was 40 minutes past the appt time. I told her I wasnt happy that nobody had called to say they would be late, and again stated I had to take time off of work for this. She said shed call Chris, the guy doing the estimate and call me right back as she wasnt aware that he was running late. She returned my call and informed me he had been at my house 25 minutes before, but nobody answered the door. (For background, I live in an old home with no doorbell. I was in my kitchen at the back of the house doing dishes. Theres a side door 5 feet from where the gutter and roof were damaged, but he didnt knock on that door. Nor did he call me). Tonya then informed me that the estimate would take 3-5 business days and that I didnt need to be there and that Chris got what he needed. I asked why I wasnt told that yesterday, and she didnt know. I told her I was not happy about this as I wasnt told the estimate would take additional time and I didnt need to be home. She said theyre very busy and cannot wait for customers. I again told her I was home and he could have called or knocked on the back door that he was right next to. She said they dont always have their folders with them (whatever that means-so he cant call the office to get my number? He cant walk 5 feet north and knock on another door?) I went back to the we are very busy BUT we are still taking new jobs comment she made and asked if that meant they had enough business and that they dont need mine. She told my theyre busy and she said I should have answered the door. I was very unhappy at that point and told her so, and she offered a fake Im sorry which was dripping with sarcasm. I asked to speak with a manager and was transferred to the Office Manager whose name I cannot remember for the life of me. Maybe Margie? She said shed been there 18 years. I explained what happened, and she said they ALWAYS tell customers if work needs to be done outside the home, the owner doesnt need to be home for the estimate. I told her I wasnt told this, and that I had scheduled the appt with Morgan. Her response was Morgan is new so Ill make sure she knows. I told her what Tonya had said and that she was being a smart a** and she didnt say anything. I asked her if she would hire a contractor who acted like this over an estimate, and her response was Ive got 6 kids so Ive got a lot of patience. Fabulous. Another smart a**. I asked to speak with the owner, who apparently is Kevin. Kevin was upstairs in a meeting with our roofers and unable to take a call. I told her that I thought it was important for the owner of a small, local business to know how the company is being run. My dad owned his own business for 39 years and I worked there for many years, I know how important customers are. Apparently these guys missed that message.Chris called me around 4:10 p.m., the guy who came out to do the estimate. He was explaining the damage he found, and I asked about the roof. At some point during the conversation I asked if he had been on the roof as I didnt hear anyone up there, and he said he hadnt been because nobody was home. I reminded him that in fact I had been home, and that he had likely seen the car in the driveway. I asked if he had looked under the tarp thats covering the damage to the roof, and he said no because he wasnt on the roof because nobody was home.**Reached limit please see contd review**

On April 9, 2013, a severe hail storm damaged our house. Upon the suggestion of our insurance company, we contacted Total Construction. We signed a contract with Total Construction on May 6, 2013 for the materials and labor to repair the house. At that time, they told us it would be two weeks to a month before the work could be started. The roof was completed on June 28 (54 days after we signed the contract).Numerous times after June 28, 2013, I called Total Construction Company to see when they would be able to finish the rest of the work. The fascia, gutters, and drywall still needed to be repaired. I had a difficult time getting direct answers and was told over and over again that I would be called back but was not. At one point, a secretary said that she actually did call and left me a voicemail, however, I did not receive that voicemail. We had informed Total Construction that my husband was not to be bothered by phone, as he was working out of town, and that I would be the contact person. However, on more than one occasion my husband was called at his place of work. Our fascia was completed during the summer. Again, I tried, unsuccessfully, to confirm dates for the rest of the damage repair. My husband was called again, while working out of town, and informed they showed up at our house and realized they had ordered the wrong color gutters and asked him what color they were supposed to order. The color was written on our contract. Our gutters were finally completed Labor Day weekend. The drywall work was completed the week of September 16. It has now come to our attention that the drywall portion of the work, in the amount of $541.49, was not covered by our insurance company because Total Construction told them it wasn’t caused by the hail storm. However, this is an assumption that is not accurate as we have never had a single leak in our garage until after the roof was damaged by hail - which makes it apparent that the dry wall leaks were the result of the hail damage to the roof.Again, after numerous calls, I spoke with the owner of the company who said he would be sending their Quality Control person out to address the issues that we had. This person did come to our house and spoke with my husband and myself regarding our concerns. During that visit he inspected the roof and informed us that that a substantial part of the roof repair work was of inferior quality and needed to be re-done. The re-roofing was completed. Finally, after all of the many concerns, delays, miss-information, etc., we placed numerous phone calls to Total Construction to request the bill for the work and materials used. At the end of October, I again notified them that we had not received the bill, at which time one of the secretaries told me it had been mailed November 12th. At that time, I reminded her that we were still in the month of October; she then changed the mailing date to September 12th. Im aware that this could have been a simple mistake on her part, except for the fact, that the work had not been completed by September 12th. When we did finally receive the bill there was a clerical error which resulted in an overbilling. They did correct the error after we brought it to their attention. We paid the bill immediately.Total Construction did discount the entire bill by $500 but, by giving inaccurate information regarding the reason for the drywall damage, we are now out additional monies over and above the cost of our deductible. Because of our multiple negative experiences with this company, we felt we were deserving of an actual discount; the owner accused us of extortion, despite the fact we were practically begging for our bill. We felt like the owner wasn’t interested in hearing our concerns. We are glad that the work is finally satisfactorily completed and that we have paid the bill, albeit seven months later. Needless to say, in the future we will not be recommending Total Construction and will take our business elsewhere.
We had a great experience with Total Construction Services!
Ive never actually had work done by them but was behind one of their trucks and the driver was on the phone swerving all over driving like an idiot.
Absurd
