We were referred to Terry’s a few years ago by a friend when we needed work done on our car and wanted somewhere honest and reliable. We have continued going back ever since. They have great customer service and are always super friendly. They always try to work with our schedule to get our cars fixed fast even when they have a full schedule. They are thorough and great about giving us all the information and options and even take the time to teach us about what is going on and how to take care of our cars. We feel confident that we are getting a good deal and that are cars are being fixed properly! We love them so much we even go here for oil changes and to get new tires/ get flats fixed! They are a great local company and we appreciate all they do and we definitely recommend them!

This is a very helpful shop. Honest and willing to work with folks. We had an alignment performed by them and they let me know that our inner and outer tie rod ends are worn. They are letting us change them at home and will realign it for free. Says a lot about a shop like that.

Ive maintenance and repair work done at Terrys Automotive for the past four years. This last time, oh boy. Did they ever do a number on me. After waiting the two weeks for the scheduled appointment, I went on their recommendations of the repairs and maintenance that needed to be done. After $1,500 worth of work, I was only able to get one thing out of the three items repaired correctly.....maybe. The other issues that I expressed concerna with are not fixed. Just a strange grinding noise coming from the engine and a loud squeal/sqreaching noise when I start and drive the car in the a.m. The manager on duty during the two days the repairs were being done was not willing to make things right. Now Im out all this money that Ive spent. I am very displeased and needless to say I will not be back to Terrys Automotive.

I have brought my cars here since 1997. They have always done good work, havent pushed work that wasnt needed and have worked with me to prioritize repairs when I was not able to afford to do everything at once. Their repair costs are less than the dealer, and even though there are less expensive shops, I will keep coming here. I trust them to do what is needed correctly. In addition, everyone is friendly and willing to explain about what repairs are needed and why.

The guys there are very nice and went out of there way to help. Didnt have an appointment but after coming back after lunch he took time to troubleshoot the cars problem. Its not an easy fix. Got put on books for an appointment.

Brought truck in multiple times. Mechanic says it’s one problem, I have them replace it for a Hefty price.Not even a week later same problem but different part needed. Have them replace the new part for another Hefty price. Not even a day later same problem. They charge you premium price and don’t actually fix the problem. Typical mechanic just keep taking my money but never fixed the actual problem.

We were told by the Mazda dealership that the transmission on our 2013 Mazda 3 was toast. The cost was going to be $4,200 to replace it. We took it to Terrys for a second opinion and they concurred. We were about to schedule an appointment with them but the mechanic recommended we go back to Mazda and make some noise, since we were only a few hundred miles over the warrenty expiration. We did and to the credit of the local Mazda delalership and Mazda, they relpaced our transmission at no cost to us. For Terrys to turn down our business to save us some money, impressed the hell out of me and I am now a customer for life.

A transmission part that wouldnt come apart turned out to be welded after it shows signs of being to hot. The 5r55e transmission do not have transmission cooling so they get very hot! One of their mechanics was able to separate the two peices. The insides had welded to the spindle. Great Job!

Rude customer service, unhelpful mechanics. Was told my car was all messed up when it was brought in which, it wasnt. However, if it was - theyre supposed to be a mechanic? They couldnt find my transmission leak.. There was literally no point in bringing my vehicle in here, waist of time and money. I would have had more luck with a back yard mechanic - you probably will to.

I took my older Audi in for spark plugs and a new coolant tank, they were incredibly nice and professional! They made sure to communicate with me everything that was going on, had my car finished in a timely manner and when I had an issue after leaving with my coolant take they immediately sent a tech back out to fix it (They didnt mess anything up, it was over the max line and they suctioned out the extra coolant) and told me not to hesitate bringing it back if there was further issues. Thank you so much everyone at Terrys automotive and I appreciate your hard work and service! **Also side note, the price was great!

I needed my headlight replaced. I called another shop who quoted me almost $80 to do it, even when I already had the part! I called Terrys and Chris replaced it for me at no cost - which was a total surprise to me. He was quick, efficient, and so polite. I am so grateful for the wonderful staff here, they have always been so kind. Id give 20 stars if I could. Will definitely come back here if my car needs anything else.

Terrys was referred by a good friend who has used them for over 15 years. My Toyota Tundra is 20 years old. The diagnostics determined that my starter was failing along with a battery not charging to capacity. I received two phone calls keeping me informed about progress and price. I am very pleased with the outcome.

They came recommended to me, they were fast, very polite, knowledgeable, pricey.

I went there after trying multiple times on my own to figure out and repair what was causing my engine to run so roughly. I took it to Terry’s and they figured out that I hadn’t securely plugged something back in all the way. They plugged it in and fixed the issue and charged a very reasonable price. They also reprogrammed the radio, which is a pain to do, and I didn’t even ask them to do that. Highly recommend them.

We took our car here,and we just bought a used car .well the CV joint went out but we had a warranty they were so helpful to get this done in a timely manner and so friendly, but then two weeks later our timing chain was off by two teeth. we knew we would take it back to Terry’s automotive, when we took it there they diagnosed it got a hold of our warranty the warranty sent out an inspector. the inspector claimed improper repairs from a previous repair, but there was no Carfax there was no evidence of any work being done on the car but the warranty said the parts were too shiny to have not been worked on. This was my first time dealing with the warranty company so when I called Robert and asked him his opinion he said, no that they definitely need to fix it and that there’s no way that the timing chain would just slip off two teeth. so I fought the warranty company just like Robert suggested. feeling very bad that my car was taking up space from his company, he reassured me that there was no problem and that I needed to keep at it because they were going to have to pay for it. So I kept fighting the warranty company finally got a second opinion on a second inspector and it was completely covered !!! Robert and his team got it done for me and helped me out so much I couldn’t appreciate anybody more, they made my Christmas and New Year’s because it would’ve been very difficult to fight the warranty without Roberts help. I go pick my car up today and I would take any car or suggest anyone to take their vehicle there because the outstanding customer service and just the overall generosity and thoughtfulness that they put into each customer.

Our car was evaluated at a dealership up north and was told the car needed new coils and spark plugs. We took the car to our local dealership and they disageeed and came up with different issues. Terrys Automotive looked at the car and agreed with the first dealership and fixed the problems, saving my daughter lots of money!

Great place! I was completely stranded in this area and this shop took THE BEST care of me. They had me in and out as quick as possible. They helped me workout difficult scenarios and seemed to have my best interests in mind. Very competitive in pricing and worth the peace of mind that you are getting good care and top service.

I wanted to install a lift kit on my Honda Element and knew I would need to get an alignment after, before ordering the kit I called Terrys to ask if they would do an alignment on an aftermarket lift kit (they do, for a slightly higher rate). While I was on the phone I also asked if they had any horror stories from people coming in with self-installed lift kits and they gave me a ton of great information about things to look out for. I really appreciated that they took the time to have that conversation with me.I installed the lift kit myself and scheduled a wheel alignment with Terrys once I had it finished. I was able to get an appointment a week out, I dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. They charged me exactly what they had quoted me ($117), were friendly, professional, and best of all they did a great job on the alignment.I love finding a local business like this, I will definitely be coming back in the future!

They are super thorough and always call me for an update on what exactly needs work before they do anything extra they find.They are the kind of place you trust. Their communication from under the hood to the front desk is impressive. They will always do their best to solve any problems and do a thorough job.Id use specific stories, but Ive got so many. From severed break lines, mysterious clunking, various check engine lights to oil changes. They have always treated me well.Highly recommended. Once they did a repair and it didnt fix it (ended up being a factory replacement issue) and they reimbursed me fully for all the work they did! Theyve never told me I needed something that wasnt really needed. And they have always been quick and communicate. They do have a courtesy van, too, to give you a ride when they repair your vehicle and will come pick you up when its done.

I took my sons Honda in for brake work. The lady behind the desk said they had done a routine safety check and it appeared that a front steering assembly seal was starting to leak. Not a major problem, but something to keep an eye on. I could see the $$$ flying out of my wallet- new struts, new ball joints, etc. A typical minor repair morphing into something major. Here we go, I thought to myself. I asked them to take a closer look. Fast forward next day- the lady said a mechanic examine the problem. Bottom line: Everything is fine. No leak. No repair needed. Try that with some auto shops and see what happens. These folks have gained my confidence and trust. Prices are reasonable, service prompt, and they are honest.

I’ve been taking my cars to Terry’s for 35 years. I love their service folks. They keep great records on my cars. They go out of their way to be helpful. I took my car there this week and listened to the service specialist talking to a customer on the phone. He explained what he thought needed to be done, things that were recommended but didn’t actually need to be done, and how things could be worked out best for the customer. I thought to myself, “If you want to know about how a place does business, just listen to how they talk to their other customers.” Terry’s has never steered me wrong and never given me a reason to go anywhere else. And no, I have no personal relationships with them. They are just that good.

Dropped my car off to have a sensor fixed, get an oil change, and to get my brights looked at. They were observant and attentive enough to see that a major belt needed to be replaced. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything and were straightforward.While the repair itself took longer than expected, they kept me informed every step of the way. The price was more than fair considering the time they put into fixing my initial problem, recognizing another pressing issue, and fixing it in a timely manner. My car is running much more smoothly after all their help.I’ve taken my car to them multiple times over the last several years. And each time they’ve been fast and friendly. Totally recommend them.

I took my 1998 Honda to Terrys Automotive on the recommendation of a family friend. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service I received. They did a great job repairing my car (which had a blown head gasket), and also took the time to replace a blown-out tire and supply me with a new spare which had been flat - something they didnt have to do, but which saved me the time and hassle of doing it after I got my engine fixed. I received a thorough explanation of the work that had been done, and they did not do unnecessary work nor overcharge. I found their prices to be reasonable. This shop has a high level of integrity, they are knowledgeable and competent when it comes to auto repair, and everyone I dealt with was great. I wont hesitate to return when my car needs further work, and I recommend them to anyone with automotive issues.

Took my jeep in for a diagnosis on a shifting issue Im having, after inspection they claimed my slave cyclinder and master need to be replaced and I also asked them to replace my thermostat. After picking my jeep up I found the clutch has air in it that never got properly bled. While changing the thermostat they broke my electronic cooling fan sensor located on the thermostat housing and I also had a coolant leak from lower radiator hose because they did not tighten it back up when changing thermostat. They didnt even bother to clean up there coolant they spilled on the engine. On top of all of this I still have my shifting issue. After contacting the shop and letting them know my disappointment in quality of work and was told there owner would call me back to talk about it....they never called me back. So Im sharing my experience to help others. Luckily Im mechanically inclined and wont be returning. I dont appreciate my highly modified vehicle that I have being treated so badly. So beware.

Im so pleased with Terrys Automotive Group! After moving to the area I had only been going to the dealership because I wasnt sure who to trust, but after one too many awful experiences at the dealership I tried here and couldnt be happier. Everyone is so nice and they worked me in the very next morning. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices, also much cheaper than the dealership. They did a thorough check of my entire vehicle for $45 and couldnt find anything wrong so they didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. I feel like I found a mechanic I can trust. They also have a free shuttle to get you home and back to the shop if you need. Dont wait to have an awful dealership experience, just come here!

Everyone there is friendly, and well-educated in the automotive field. However, Jim and Robert went above and beyond when assisting me on how to get my dead car to them; as well as taking the time to educate me on the process and issue with my vehicle. The bathroom is very clean, and the waiting area is equipped with a Keurig machine, magazines, clean and comfy couch, as well as toys for little ones. Not one person working ever made nasty faces or rude comments although my 2 year old was doing her best to be sure her presence was known. Everyone who worked on my vehicle ensured service by getting my vehicle fixed same day although it was a difficult issue. THANK YOU to everyone, especially Jim and Robert, who brought my car back from the dead as well as being super courteous and professional. I will always be back when in need!

Terrys does superb work. After having poor experiences with mechanics in WA for the last couple of years, I was a bit gun-shy & apprehensive, but Jim is amazing. Not only was I pleased with the brake service, but when my brakes started squealing a couple weeks ago, I called & they got me an appointment to figure things out. Car repairs are always challenging, but Terrys has quality people & they really want to do great work. I have also been impressed by their shuttle service. All around, great experience. I will be going back with my other car next.

My friend Lee is disabled and needs use of his vehicle. Will and Rob got his vehicle in and fixed in a 1 day period. Im only sharing this part as a show of integrity on the part of Terrys. While trying to remove the A/C Compressor they broke it on accident and instead of calling and claiming it was broke, they put a brand new one on which is very spendy, called and told me what happened and zero charge, it was not in there for anything A/C related. They have earned my business and Lees for life.

I have been taking my vehicles into here as long as Ive lived in Olympia. It is the first auto shop where I felt that they were being completely honest and not trying to charge for anything extra. Their service is great and they dont mark up their parts to make extra like most other shops. If your car is broke bring it here and theyll take care of you.

She is quite rude to people out in public I recognized her from there.. she should be respectful to everyone even if shes not at work. Because you never know whos watching. First off I was quoted a price to do the the job and when I went to pay the price was fifty percent more than the originally quoted price.The work they did on my wheel bearing failed ten months later, when I took the car to a different mechanic I was told the wheel bearing was preseed on incorrectly, and that whoever did it would have known right away, yet Terrys let me drive away knowing it was done wrong .I do not recommend this shop

Terrys in the ONLY place in town as far as Im concerned. Ive taken every car Ive owned there for the past 40 years. (oh my God, am I that old?) Everyone I know goes there and everyone loves them. They are honest, great communicators and are a local family run business. So they care about their customers. Youll find you get to know them and look forward to seeing them when you go in. A friend of mine who is a real car person moved here recently and I referred him. He called afterwards to tell me he has never, ever had such good service, and the price made him very happy, too.

Went in for a very expensive rear differential replacement in my Explorer. As a good shop they noted the hood wouldnt stay up, the left front tire rubbed when turning and there was a small oil gasket leaking on the exhaust. I couldnt afford all that and just got the neq rear end. They fixed the differential for a couple hundred under the quoted amount. In the week driving later I noticed the hood was fixed, the left front didnt squeal and there was no stink of burning oil on exhaust. Not a word, not a cent. This is the kind of service that makes you proud.

As usual they have done a great job- prompt scheduling, repairs all seem okay, price is right, and the pickup service is spot on. Thats why Ive been doing business with these folks for over 30 years. And will continue to do so.

Them guys are crook, brought my truck there multiple times, reason took it in to get a sensor replace then a keep going back after and after how odd, that said my A/c unit stop working took it in to get it look On again, they told me what the issue was then told me it was going to cost me 3,800 to get fixed so I was asking them if there’s not other alternative they insist that’s what the cost going to be, anyways a went looking somewhere else TUMWATER AUTOMOTIVE of capital next to the car wash they charge me 1100 after tax and everything else for the same EXACT work that terry’s automotive wanted 3,800 for . That said try to shop around it’s worth you time and money don’t let upFront presentation fool yah .

This place has fallen off terribly in recent years (2) under new ownership. They fail to complete requested work. They refuse work by giving bids that are outrageous when they dont want to do something. They when given specific instruction on what to do try to bill to re-troubleshoot the issue, and when confronted about it think that being indignant is the way to go to resolve the matter. There are better places in town. The did the same thing to my neighbor across the street.

Absolute scammers!!! Charged me for work that was never completed - $4,700 worth, gave me back some of it after threatening a lawsuit but didnt even put the car all the way back together either. Did the same thing to an older lady ahead of me in line, tried to charge her for more than the Dealership, she had her daughter helping her.
