Took my 3 year in for a much needed cut as a Walk-in. He was having a very rough time. I think it was the owner, Mike, who jumped in to help cut my son’s hair quicker along with our other barber. He had a very warm and kind demeanor. I was apologetic for bringing my son in whereas he was encouraging to come back sooner and not to feel bad about my son’s apprehension. Great experience! Mike and the entire team here are doing an excellent job to get haircuts done with the same quality as always even with the need to work around COVID. They are disinfecting every tool they use in between each use, wearing masks and face shields, and doing everything in their power to make their customers feel comfortable.I am a long time customer and plan to keep coming to mikes as long as I live in CT. Currently I drive from Newington for this haircut, and it’s well worth it.

After nearly 4 months in stay at home mode due to Co-vid19, I desperately needed a haircut. When Governor Lamont gave the OK for Barbershops to reopen with strick guidelines, I did my research for a barbershop in Old Saybrook, as I was not returning to NYC any time soon. Google provided me with a # of options. I landed on Mikes Barbershop because his website was so easy to navigate. I texted (as requested) and made an appointment with Mike for the following week. Shop is spotless - guidelines being followed to the extreme, I felt very comfortable because of the set up. Mike is a very skilled barber. I sat down, told him it had been 4 months since my last haircut, no part and a little longer on the top. Mike gave me one of the best haircuts I have had in quite sometime. Didnt charge me an arm and a leg. Mikes my new barber...no question! Thanks Mike!!!

I have been going here for all my haircuts for the past 6 months and this place is great. Never had a bad cut here and the prices are quite reasonable. The only complaint I have is that it is cash only but there is an atm across the street. The atmosphere in the shop is very nice. Mike has a great attitude and overall does a great job.

Ive been looking for years for a place that gives great haircuts. This is the place. He is very meticulous and does a great job of tapering your hair. He listens to your requests. The only problem is have wait a while to get a haircut. Hes worth the wait!

Awesome ambient, great stylist. Mike himself wasnt there so I wouldnt know. The lady that gave me a haircut did a fantastic job, however. I was only passing by, but if I lived in town, this would be my choice for haircuts. Definitely recommend it.

Before you go know that it is cash only and walk in only here. That being said there is a great atmosphere here, wait times are not that long, and Mike gives a really good haircut. I got an outstanding fade. Cuts are 18 bucks and well worth it.

Great part of our community. Donates time and money to local clubs, sports and activities. My 4th grader can go there on his bike with $20 after school and get a cut and I dont have to worry about him. Keep up the good work.

FYI: Cash only.Mike did an amazing job, best shave and haircut I have had in a long time. Reasonable prices, great location and comfortable atmosphere. He only does walk ins, and is cash only so if youre like me and never carry cash stop by the ATM next door first.

First time visit and found Mike to be very attentive to what type of haircut I wanted. In addition, I liked the relaxed feel of his shop.

Mike is awesome and detailed as can be when it comes to cuts. He remembers every detail of a cut a person does every time. My son is borderline sensory with ADHD, and Mike is the only person he will let cut his hair. He jumps right up, tells him how he wants it, and lets him get to work with zero worry. The atmosphere is that of an old school barber shop, and the cash only is a small detail, as Mike will gladly let you run out if needed to get it. There is zero appointment time, and its first come, first serve, as it should be.

Finally! Since growing out my beard Ive been looking for the right barbershop and Ive found it. Mike is professional and friendly. There were a bunch of kids there the day I went and hes great with them too.

Finally a local barber that knows to cut and style with current male hairstyles. First time in his shop and made me feel comfortable. No appointments though.
