It was fun to swim there. They also have a nice gym. The pool was pretty clean and I had a good swimming experience.

The director Chris Nasta seems like a really nice guy. I am only giving 3 stars because the front desk guy Hugh is one of the most surly people I have EVER come across. Always impatient, never a smile on his face and just overall miserable! He seems to hate people so why hes upfront I dont know 😕.

Old Bridge YMCA is a wonderful facility. The staff is amazing and the fitness classes and instructors are awesome. Instructors and other members are welcoming into the fitness classes and you dont feel uneasy or uncomfortable. Instructors explain all moves and demonstrate and help. The gym equipment is well maintained and clean. The members are very good with wiping down equipment before and after use which you dont find at every gym. Great place for the entire family.

I really like this YMCA. The child caregivers in the nursery are very kind and remember your child’s name when they come in. The gym is very clean and the locker room has plenty of space. This was a huge change from a gym filled with teenagers who never wiped things down. The pool area is very big and the swim classes and camps are very popular!

I really love it here. It is so much better than other corporate owned gyms. The pool is very nice, and there are nice people all around who dont make you feel bad about working out when youre not in great shape. Also the equipment is nice and new, and it doesnt smell. It is a great family oriented place. It costs a little more, but I think it is worth it.

Fairly new building with lots of amenities. Basketball court, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room. Great for families as the only gym I know with Sunday day care. Kids can attend swimming lessons. There is also summer camp. I would say the only downside is limited work out area for weight lifting. You will have to get very creative to get a work out in. Also, there arent enough heavy dumb bells for bench press. There are a ton of classes to make up for it. I used for family and still have to retain another gym membership for proper weight work outs.

This is a great gym for the family. The classes are reasonably priced and the instructors are dedicated. We used the swimming plans for our kids. All of the staff here are friendly and always ready to help. Its like your Public Library equivalent for a sports club.

I take nothing away from how clean it is or the layout and how many machines they have, but their Advanced Basketball Lesson class has not lived up to its name. Theres no structure to the program, theres a different kid teaching the class every week. There has been a few kids that never get the ball because they decide to play a game instead of teaching a class. They head of activities did contact me and gave me the opportunity to try again under different circumstances and we will probably accept. And I would definitely consider joining just to exercise there.

I have a mixed opinion. The facility is good. However they have a childcare facility and on the two out of three times we have had our child there they have interrupted our workout to ask us to take the child because she is crying. She is just 2 and doesnt take a lot to keep happy. Just wondering why the child care facility cannot manage a fussy toddler.

While scrolling, I noticed a comment regarding the summer camp and their registration process. To my understanding, this camp takes in over 300 campers each summer. If you show up mid-summer to register, you may not be able to get in! Dont wait until the last minute to sign up and you wont be turned away! The staff is pleasant, accommodating, and thorough. My children have been coming to camp here for four years, they LOVE it. Original activities, themes, trips, etc. Not to mention they have an amazing group of young-adults as counselors.

I wrote previously bad review about the app, that they have. I was angry, when I did it. So my review 5 stars now: I visit this facility at least 2 times a week more than 6 months already. My step son used to play basketball there, my 18 months kid likes to take swim classes here. Also they have a baby sitting room, so I can leave my kid and go on the track or class, which is very good for me. ☺️ So all our family members visit this nice and clean YMCA facility.♥️

Although the facility is very modern and clean for the most part, the customer service at this YMCA is ABYSMAL.I have been a member for over a year. It has ALWAYS been an issue to register my child for summer camp there. Their process makes absolutely no sense. Here is what happened this year:At the beginning of the summer I went to the facility to register for camp. I was told they were full, but to leave my name and number and someone would call me when space became available. Guess what? No one ever called. (The same thing happened last summer as well)Mid-summer, I went to the facility to ask about registering my son for the last two weeks of the summer, because there would be a 2 week gap between the summer program I had put him in (East Brunswick Parks and Rec- fabulous program) and the start of school. Since I was going well in advance, i though there would be no issues. I was told that I had to come in the wednesday prior to the week I needed child care to register him, that I couldnt do it that far in advance. So, I waited. The Wednesday prior to the week I needed care, I went to the facility AGAIN to register him for summer camp. I was ignored by a snotty woman at the front desk. After standing around, a younger girl came to my aid. After explaining what I needed, I got the SAME song and dance I always get. Oh, the program is full, but leave your name and number and someone will call you. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was directed to the woman who had ignored me and explained what I needed. Same story: You need to leave your name and number and someone will call you.AT that point, I was frustrated and said I wanted to cancel my membership and get a refund for a credit I had (prior swim lessons that my son had taken, where the instructor didnt show up to class a bunch of times). I was told I could not get a refund. I walked out fuming.THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Raritan YMCA, although not as state of the art has an AMAZING summer program, and this is how easy it is to register: You go to the front desk, say which week you need care, pay, are given a receipt, DONE. And they are always friendly, polite, and happy to help. Raritan is farther for me than Old Bridge, but is BETTER in terms of customer service and summer camp registration. I dont understand what their problem is.Some of the front desk staff is rude, another issue I had was with the lifeguards at the pool. I stayed in the pool area to watch my son while swimming and the two lifeguards there spent an entire hour flirting and talking to each other instead of watching the people in the pool. SO, state of the art is not always better.I have seen how Old Bridge YMCA responds to complaints on their FB page so im just waiting for their defensive response to this review. I am going to register my kid for a class to use up my credit and then i am cancelling my membership. If I wanted to get this kind of customer service I might as well go to WOW and pay MUCH LESS than the $79 monthly I pay at Old Bridge YMCA.
