Food was really good and service was quick. My husband was wanting steak and we didn’t want to wait for Texas Roadhouse, so we came here. I’d never been here before. Food was a little more expensive than we’re used to, but not absurdly so. I got a dish I would typically never try- the Salmon Oscar. It was delicious! I was very pleasantly surprised. My husband enjoyed his steak and he loves his sides of mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. I got the jacketed yam candied as my side, and I was a little disappointed in it. It’s a yam that has been battered and fried- which was a fun change. But I paid extra to have it candied and I didn’t feel like there was enough candied flavor. Other then that, the meal was spot on!

Excellent dinner service! I have come to this restaurant an excess amount of times and never have I been disappointed. Not only is the venue of the building awesome; with the working fireplaces and the dim lighting beaming off the log structures, the food is also fantastic. The baked potatoes are something you can’t get anywhere else with their unique battered style. The steaks I have ordered are never improperly cooked and the tenderness is unlike any other. Their aged meat isn’t a joke, I have never had a sirloin anywhere else be just as or more tender than a New York strip; not to even start on flavor. I would also like to recommend their steak and avocado egg rolls as a starter; I am not an appetizer guy but these are worth it. The service is excellent, and I get seated within’ the estimated time always. Thank you Ruby River for never disappointing, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great lunch experience! The bacon wrapped peppered sirloin and top sirloin was prepared perfectly & the knife sliced through them like butter. The mashed potatoes were light & fluffy with a nice flavor. The asparagus was the only thing that could have been steamed a bit more but that is just a personal preference, it was still nicely flavored & a nice accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Highly recommended!!!

The service was very good and the sirloin is the best I have ever had for the price, and almost the best youll find at any price. 10oz sirloin was $18 and falls apart in your mouth and if I blindfolded you I bet you couldnt pick it from those places charging $50-75. This is a must stop anytime we are near Ogden

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here tonight because my boyfriend wanted a good steak for his birthday. Ruby River didn’t disappoint!First things first. Our server was so sweet! If she didn’t know the answer to our questions, she quickly found the answers. She was great!They were out of the porterhouse, so my boyfriend got the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and was so juicy. I had a bite of it and it was absolutely delicious!He also got a side salad, coconut shrimp, and sautéed mushrooms. He probably wouldn’t get the mushrooms again, but he loved the shrimp.I ordered the coconut shrimp platter and I don’t regret it! I think I’d get that again and again and again! My sides were the steamed broccoli with garlic butter and parmesan tomatoes. I’d get both of them again! That was the best broccoli I’ve ever had!We both had an alcoholic drink. He ordered a Bahama Mama (it was okay) and I got the Frolic in the Sand which was absolutely delicious!We are definitely going to add Ruby River to our date night rotation!

Not only did the waiter (Joshua) criticize what I chose to order, saying the meat on the sandwhich I asked for was not as good as a certain other sandwich he suggested, I said no I just wanted the one I asked for, he said fine one sandwich with not so good meat ...I dont mind being offered suggestions but that response was completely unprofessional and rude. After our appetizer was brought out I noticed about 1/3 of the way through a chicken tender that the middle was completely raw. After spending 10 minutes in the bathroom throwing up the manager still made us pay for the 2 drinks we had hardly even touched. To say Im dissatisfied is an understatement. We will never go back to this steakhouse 🤢

The food was great! It was more expensive than most other places I go, but the food was really good. The restaurant was well decorated and had a nice atmosphere. Unlike many restaurants it was also quiet, making it easy to talk with the people at your table. Our waitress was fabulous. She was observant and just took care of things, but didnt overly bother us either.One thing that was odd is the entrance is more toward the entrance to the parking lot than almost all of the parking, so you have to walk back past the building and look for it. They do have little signs and it wasnt all that hard, but it felt weird.

This is by far my favorite steakhouse. We’ve tried other places and we just keep coming back! The sourdough bread with a crunchy crust, the raspberry lemonade (real raspberries) the garlic sirloin, cheese fries, it’s ALL SO YUMMY! We are never disappointed. We also had our company here and it was fabulous and reasonably priced. We highly recommend it!

I was extremely disappointed with both the food and the lunch service today at Ruby River. The fried chicken was dry, the steak was undercooked, and I was brought food I did not order with an apology and an awkward “I couldn’t remember what you ordered. I can take it back if you don’t want it” but I let it slide. The server did not offer condiments for side dishes, she did not come fill water until we asked and she didn’t bring items that went with entrees. I would have understood if it were a busy time but we were one of only two parties. On the bright side, the server was pleasant enough and the mashed potatoes, burger and turkey sandwich were good. I remember when it was a fancy date to go to Ruby River. Now, I would not recommend it.

Are there steak houses out the better? Possibly but until I find it Ruby River deserves the 5. The steaks and Burgers Ive had have been perfectly cooked and tasted delicious and never disappointed. If you are in the mood for an appetizer try the Ruby poppers they are our favorite thing there.

Im not quite sure why I keep getting steaks from here.... Everyone has raved about them to me but I just keep getting let down!! This evenings was the worst yet, see pictures, one side was a bit to charred and the other had no love at ALL!! I would not recommend any steak from here....

Me and all my friends got the steak when we came here and it was mixed the cuts of steak were good Id give it a 4/5 but the way they cooked them was all over the place. One of my friends got rare and received a medium rare in some spots to medium well in other parts of the steak? I dont know how it was possible. Mine was done mostly correctly but youd want better from a steak house. The prime rib is the thing to get here its huge cooked the best and tastes the best compared to other prime ribs. Overall thats what Id recommend and advise for when youre looking to eat here.

This place was amazing. I took my girlfriend here for a date and everything was perfect. The steak was cooked perfectly. The service was great. I had the steak and avocado rolls (I forgot what they were called ) for my appetizer and they were amazing. I couldve just ate a plate of those. My girlfriend had the coconut shrimp. I dont like coconut but I actually liked those. All in all it cost us about 110 dollars. That was with 2 meals, 2 appetizers and 2 sodas and 1 adult drink. Well worth the price in my opinion.

There are clearly changes made since the Covid outbreak, but overall I had a great experience. Our group of 8 had fast service and our meal was well prepared, and tasted great. I ordered chicken and steak combo, I didnt love the flavor on the chicken, but its just my preference. A great time with friends.

Wow... I totally love this place. Literally I can eat everything on the menu. I shouldve taken picture of the food but I was so excited to eat I didnt even think about while I was there. But if youre looking for a good go to the Southern fried chicken breasts with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Go for the wedge salad, and the browning onion. Best in town! Way to go Rudy River! It has been many years since we ate here - glad we came back. Their Avocado Lime Salmon was excellent. I do miss eating the peanuts as an appetizer - I guess they did away with peanuts - bring them back!!

I travel a lot for work and today we stopped in for a early dinner and was not disappointed at all. Wait staff were courteous absolutely prompt, steak was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. 10 outta 10 I will eat here every time I travel to Utah.

I went here on November 27 for my birthday. I wish I remembered our servers name. He was great !! And the food was great too

Went to Ruby River for our anniversary. We were seated quickly. We ordered the coconut shrimp as our appetizer. When it was brought out, the outside coconut breading was overly fried. The surprise was on the inside. The shrimp was raw!!!! I asked the waitress to give me her opinion and she said, “oh, we have a new chef and I guess he didn’t leave it in long enough. Let me see if I can get that taken off your bill.” In my opinion, that should be an automatic removal off of the bill. That just really ruined my appetite. The rest if the food was just mediocre. I was surprised because they came highly recommended and I was looking forward to a nice meal. I am still waiting to see if the raw shrimp will cause problems later on tonight. I won’t go back. I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

This is my favorite place to go for a celebratory prime rib. I proposed to my wife at the upstairs anniversary table thirteen years ago today, and we go there every year for our anniversary dinner. (And for birthdays, promotions, etc.) I need to find more things in life to celebrate with prime rib. Maybe next week Ill get a haircut... and celebrate with a prime rib...

Very awesome place to eat very very delicious and plenty of it. this restaurant really knows how to cook a steak and their side dishes our plenty. They also have an awesome staff it makes you feel very welcome

Ruby River is a great place for steak and seafood, the atmosphere is wonderful its like eating in a log lodge. The garlic pepper ribeye melts in your mouth and the prime rib was perfect. Also has excellent lager and mixed drinks finished with a variety of desserts,we had the cheese cake topped with strawberries.

Dont normally do this being a business owner and all, but ya gotta speak up from time to time. So we go out for a relaxing birthday dinner expecting an inviting atmosphere at this Best of Utah multiple award winner and it was anything but. During the hottest time of the day, they seat our party of 5 on the west side of the dining room and they forgot to mention when we made our reservation that the air conditioner is broke. We tried to grin and bear it, but thats when it got even hotter. The server had use of only one hand, wrote our order down so he wouldnt forget, we had to repeatedly ask for cool water, and he forgot to put in our salad orders that come with the entree mind you. When my wife asked about the air not working and saying we are all sitting hear sweating, you think someone would try to do something, right? Nope! Instead, we had another server who overheard her yell from across the room, Give her a free meal, she is uncomforatble! The so called crisis negotiator, oh, I mean other server, then comes over and tells us that he has been working in it all day, as if we were to shut up and deal with it cause he has to. So, we thought we would be clever and ask him why they dont tell people making a reservation that the air is out to which he replies, if we told all the customers the air was out and that they might be a little uncomfortable if they come, nobody would show up. Two servers, and two employees behind the bar, one who may have just wanted the title of manger, now know there is a problem and they just stood there! No attempt to find a fan or, heres an idea, move us to the somewhat cooler east side. Nope! My wife then cut into the driest, blandest chicken dish she ever had and I told her to lean forward and drip sweat onto it because it will season it and help make it moist! Ha! We just had enough at that point and wanted to leave so we did...and then our side salads came. No joke! We hope others fair better but go cautiously if you do decide to plan your evening.

Great food. NY steak was awesome. Prime rib sandwich was ok. Best part was awesome service by Mario. He has a great energetic attitude which adds to the environment. Exceptional service.

The family and I have been eating at Ruby River for a long time. We even used to eat there when they were Ebenezers before they because Ruby River and their food has always been great! They have an enjoyable atmosphere and a good selection on their menu. They have a fireplace in the back of the dining area which provides some nice atmosphere in the fall and winter. Im not the only one who enjoys their food as it can become quite crowded on Friday and Saturday nights! I just cant say no to their steaks, tender and cooked perfect!

Went on my bosss last day before retirement with him a colleague.Had a red beer - cold and delicious!Spencer recommended the Steak & Avocado Egg Rolls. They were awesome.I had a 12 ounce Prime Rib, medium-rare with mashed potatoes and gravy and sauteed mushrooms. Everything was outstanding.My former boss had the Top Sirloin with a baked potato and broccoli while my colleague had Prime Rib with baked potato and asparagus. All plates empty.Read some complaints about the service, but ours was excellent. Definitely will be returning.

Went there for the first time in 6 years of living here. Got the Garlic peppered Ribeye.. No need for any steak sauce or anything was very tasty and tender. Mu wife got the same but with a baked tater loaded, i had gotten the sweet potato. Lets say my plate was empty and normally I dont eat the skin of the potato but that was also in my Tummie.. I saw me and the Wife will be returning.

I’m really disappointed with this place, especially since it is so legendary in town. First off on a good note, our waiter was so awesome - probably the best waiter I’ve ever had. I ordered ribs, they came out so charred they were inedible. Not joking. I wasn’t eating and our waiter asked what was wrong, so I showed him the ribs and he said: those should never have made it out of the kitchen. He then brought me a ribeye for free to make up for the ribs. I got it in a to go box. Super excited for lunch the next day to eat my ribeye. Nope! Also burnt to a crisp. I had to eat pizza rolls. Really bummed.

Great ambiance; log cabin look and feel. Food is amazing - you MUST get an order of the Steak and Avocado eggrolls. Steaks are absolutely amazing. Kids menu is blow-my-mind cheap, and conversely has HUGE portions - we were blown away by the size of the serving our 4-year-old got for her sub-$8 chicken fingers and fries (with excellent house BBQ fry sauce) and all the adults were happy to help her finish off the excellent chicken. Desserts are also similarly incredible.

Ive been very pleased with other Ruby River locations, but this one fell really short. Its pretty sad when you get a ribeye so tough your dogs wont even eat the left overs...and there were lots of left overs. On the plus side, the coconut shrimp with orange marmalade were fantastic.

I havent been here for a while so I thought that my wife and i would try it, the Steaks were great so we went back a couple of weeks later once again they were good, but the third time back I took my mom out for her birthday and I tried the ribs..... bad choice!!! I think they were left over from the night before they came out with a ton of BBQ sauce on them and they werent even partially warm! We said something to the server but she didnt seem to concerned! Dont think I will be going back!!! I dont usually leave bad reviews but they didnt even try to offer another dish or refund.

Food was pretty good. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we all had different dishes. Service was friendly but a little messy, probably because they just reopened. Would eat there again.

Ordered the 10 ounce prime rib. Did not realize it was the end cut until after the first bite and I turned it over. Extremely spicy and fat. We were celebrating our 55th anniversary so we were offered free dessert but only one. As we were finishing, a manager came and said How was your meal? Wonderful? I said No but the remainder of our group said yes so she just moved on without asking me to explain.

Great food but even better service. Our server Sarah was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Their potatoes are baked then friend. Although not as healthy, definitely tasty and unique. The cowboy burger with bacon aioli is so amazing.

What an awesome steakhouse! Even after spending a couple of years in Texas, this place blew me away. The quality of food is incredible and the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth a second visit! Id highly recommended it to anyone looking for a good date night spot.

We visit Ruby River about once a month and they are always excellent, no matter the time of day. There was a fairly long wait time, but it was worth it, and even on a busy night, there was no dip in quality. Our server Shane was incredibly friendly and courteous. We also chatted with the shift manager Elisha and you can tell her positive attitude and disposition completely set the tone for the cheerful atmosphere, and she hooked us up with the loyalty card. It’s great to see the business thriving!

May have been a fluke night because we usually have really good service and great food but we had to wait so long for our food that we couldnt dine in. We had our food boxed to go and when we got home not all the meal was there. So sad...they are usually really good.

Good food. Got an order for take-out. Order was correct and ready for pick up when they said it would be. A sign at the Host stand that tells you to go around the corner to get your take out would be helpful. Had to wait for 5 employees at the Host stand to finish their conversation before being helped and told to go around the corner.

The service was top notch! Our server, Joshua was great. The food was onlyaverage, if that. My steak was so salty and my husbands hamburger was dry.

We were there for over an hour and a half. Apparently they lost our ticket in the kitchen. We waited over 30 min for our dinner after we finished our salads. When I got my steak it wasnt cooked to even rare (ordered med rare), I had to send it back. My fiances steak was cold. This was her first time there... She wont go back. They tried to fix the situation by taking 15% off the tab. That just wasnt enough. It was my bad for talking the place up, since she had never been there. Its unfortunate, because I usually have a good experience, but Im sure I wont be back.

The steaks were over the top delicious and our server, Spencer, was attentive but not overbearing. The experience was overall outstanding AND we celebrated two birthdays and got two free full sized desserts.

Food was horrible, the place used to be one of the finer places in Ogden to eat Its now run down and shabby looking. Walking into the restaurant we had to watch where we stepped so as to not hit a step that was missing a board and fall through. Sad to see such a great restaurant come to this

I never thought I would love a steak place so much. The food was probably the best I have had out in a very long time. Considering the quality and quanity, the prices were reasonable. I had the fish and chips while my dad got a sirloin. As well as cheese fries, which were amazing. And the sauce was so good. The atmosphere was great. Who wouldnt want to eat by the fireplace? Our server, Mario, was incredible. Very nice and attentive. Did I also mention they have virgin daiquiris!! Not many places have great non-alcoholic options.I cant wait to go back again.

Weve been here several times and each time we come away thinking, That was good but not great. Steaks were all very peppery (which, for me, wasnt a bad thing). I had the filet (very good), friend had the ribeye (he thought it was the tougher cut off ribeye), wife had the new york strip which just looks funny. Well certainly go back but it isnt a restaurant on my shirt list.

Best thing about the fillet that I ordered was the mashed potatoes, gravy was broken and looked similar to scrambled eggs but tasted fine, steak was unevenly cooked and no part of it was mid rare. Service was great. But the star of the show should have been the food in my opinion. Only reason I paid for the food was because of how nice the service was. My girlfriend ordered fried chicken and the breading was soggy and greasy, and the asparagus was absolutely raw and ice cold like they pulled it out of the bunch and slapped it on the plate. Definitely not worth the money we spent... disappointed is an understatement

Celebrated grandmas 90th birthday with over 60 guests. Food was great although the Salmon took longer than expected.

I rarely go out for steak because most places cant do a good steak let alone a great steak.They do a great steak here.Their New York steak cooked medium rare is one of the best Ive had from a steak house.

It insists on itself, I ordered the raspberry chicken rice pilaf; tasted like raspberry jam dumpster rice from the jar.

Lets start with the atmosphere, which was by far the best part. All the warm dark colors, mixed with a relaxing fire, made it really easy to finally unwind after a long day. The quality of the food was above average. I especially like the potatoes. The steak was a little under seasoned & overall should have been better when considering the cost vs tast. Our waitress was doing her best. I cannot fault her because she was running around and working very hard. I do think that she was given a little bit more than she could handle when providing a smoother more flawless service.

They messed everything up. Had to wait forever to get my steak. If I could give zero stars I would. Never going back.

The hostess was not wearing a mask. We had a Reservation for 730 and was seated at 7:33 after 30 minutes another table was seated right next to us, we still had not been greeted by the waitress. She greeted the people that just sat down gave them water and took their order after we had been there for 30 minutes. We walked out and went to prairie schooner

Splurged and got their biggest cut of Prime Rib for anniversary dinner (we did take out). Got home to discover it was more than 50% fat. Attempted to email in hopes of a response with resolution, but email was ignored.

Most of the food was good, we didnt see our server a lot. Everything else was good, restaurant was clean. Food took a long time to come out even though restaurant was near empty.

Took my wife here for our anniversary, ordered the browning onion and got a mouthful of raw batter which pretty much ruined my entire experience right off the bat. I decided to order a burger because my appetite had been pretty much ruined at that point. I ordered the cheddar bacon burger, sounds good right? Well no lol, the hamburger was very very dry and the meat was apparently drowned in black pepper before they cooked it . Any ways the food was terrible 🤣 raw onion, dry burger . The waiter was decent, thats about it. Will never come back here again.
