DO NOT GO HERE FOR TAILORING. So there are tons of other reviews by people who just bought an item and that was it, for which H&M does have competitive prices, especially compared to say, a new set of cammies from the base exchange. HOWEVER, look at the reviews of their tailoring services. They WAY overcharge for their tailoring services. Case in point: To take in an officer blues coat and replace one of the collar buttons they charged about $150. Only upon checking with the tailoring services on base after the fact did I find the on base tailor would have charged about $50.00. Also checked with Dorothys (the more popular spot nearby) and they quoted me at about $80.00.

I miss the size of the old store two years ago and they dont have as much selection as the old store in the sense of shirts and gifts but the older couple running the store are genuinely lovely folks and happy to see us. We purchased a few things but I wasnt able to get some shirts in xxxl sizes so Ill be back another time. Love this store and its an Oceanside landmark to me.

Well they make the place look like it’s the whole block but it’s not aside from that they do have some nice gear new and old ...what caught my eye in this store was the neat collection of patch’s they have most are in jumbo sized as well looks like maybe 13”x13” ... nice for a back piece on a vest ...prices on the patch’s are awesome so I had to leave with at least one item and so this is it .....great place

I used the services of H & M Military when I was a Boot Jarhead just out of San Diego. That was in 1968! Ive stopped in over the years to pick up chevrons ribbons, etc. and since 1968, Mary always went out of her way to make sure that I had what I needed... When I needed it!!Mary was a good friend of my Aunt/GodMother Lorraine Kaas. My Aunt helped Marines at Dorothys Cleaners, and another cleaner in Oceanside for 50 years. She would put her own money in the till to cover a Marine that had a promotion that he need to look squared away for, and MANY others that needed help. They ALL came back and repaid her.I just visited H & R again in September 2020 with my daughter and three grandchildren! MARY WAS STILL THERE WORKING!!! And she just as gorgeous as she was in 1968. Absolutely the worst experience EVER!!! Where to I start?Abrasive, flippant, dismissive customer service. Tailoring prices THREE times the price of anywhere else. And the most absurd shoddy workmanship I have ever seen in my life.I was raped for $180 to place Captain strips and sleeve device. The strips were not evenly spaced and the seams were a fill quarter inch off in places. They did not remove the backing of the core device so the white lining showed all around.When I bought this to the attention of the owner, that old lady just laughed at me. I said I will complain to the BBB and place her on the Military Black List, she laughed harder and ordered me out, saying she has been in business for years and does not care what customer think.BOYCOTT THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!

I procrastinated, waiting until the last possible minute to get my service alphas tailored. I brought my uniform in at noon and received a call to pick it up at 1630. The uniform fits great now. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I found the customer service to be excellent. This place is a lifesaver.

After reading some negative online reviews I was surprised and happy to find excellent customer service and quality products I was looking for at reasonable prices at H & M Military Supplies. I have been checking out military surplus stores for certain items and had experienced negative customer service previously at a surplus store in North Park, San Diego. H&M Military Supplies is large and clean and I learned they offer free hemming. After I tried on a visor that was a bit too large, the women helping me offered to take in the elastic free of charge. They also carry 5.11 pants. When the store didnt have a pair of 5.11 pants in my size the sales woman offered to order a pair for me and said if they didnt fit that I didnt have to buy them. I left with some nice items although somehow that visor didnt make it into my basket so I need to go back!

Great people, awful prices. Guess I paid for the Convenience. Went to buy a desert blouse....used... for 39.99 + names tapes. Could get them the same day, but still. Overall okay place.

Horrible, overpriced, dismissal of customers. I dont care attitude with you. Got medals mounted for 50$ absolute crap job for 2 medals?!. Cardboard and a piece of scotch tape. Took them back and they refused to alleviate the problem. Told me they wouldnt do anything. I wish I could give them less than one star because truly they dont even deserve that. Overall 0/10 would not recommend.

Great shop with great people running it, a blast to talk to and just wanted to stay longer. They had many grunt style shirts and other companies which was great, wish they had other companies such as Nine Line but other than that this was an amazing store.

This is a great military Outpost store that has everything that youre looking for either military wise or just civilian wise its got a lot of great shirts camouflage boots shoes hats anything you want even out of wear for just daily wear its a great place to shop and support our armed Services.

Terrible experience. Never completed alterations. Name tapes were never put on uniforms that had been left there for over 2 weeks. Husband was told to wait for seamstress to get back from lunch before anyone would help him. Completely ruined suit jacket. Offered zero compensation except they offered to redo the job but we no longer trust them to do the job correctly. They were rude and unapologetic to my husband. Would give zero stars.

This place has a pretty good selection and the people that work here are nice. They normally have what Im looking for when I visit.

Bought some pearless handcuffs from them and they broke within a month. Handcuffs shouldnt break that soon!! I asked to exchange them and the older lady was completely rude and said leave my store we dont do exchanges. $45 wasted never going back there. Not to mention it takes forever to get someone to help you Overpriced and just a cluster of useles stuff

Great place and perfect tailors

Tailoring is good here, but thats is about it. Out of the three people I interacted my 4years i went thru there, only one lady treated me decently and was friendly. The owners DO NOT though. Gruff, unhelpful, and they follow you around the store to make sure you dont steal stuff.

DO NOT BUY GEAR FROM THIS STORE!!! They have lookalike gear that the CIF (IIF) will not take. When I tried to return the equipment they rudely said they would not take it back. Store was dirty (should have been my first clue), gear is a knock off, and rude customer service. AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Complete trash. The women that work there are rude asf. We were told they close at 9pm we showed up at 8:15pm and they were closed.

Less than 1 if i could. Terrible customer service. Rude, talked to me like i was stupid, and made me feel as though I had no right or business being in there. Like I was an inconvenience. Ill never go there again.
