Cheap, but not a great haircut. Points for the place being trans-owned!
Fast cut, I look sharp, good price. Ray was great.
Great place..just don’t ever get a haircut from Tasha worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life and left burns on my skin.
Worst place. I booked my appointment early day for the evening. Then they called me saying my appointment time was double booked with someone else so cancelled my appointment at the last min without any sort of compensation or whatsoever. The owner didnt even seem to care about messing up the schedule.
Awesome shop, good prices, and the owner is a baddass! Whoever says females cant get haircuts at a barber shop is wrong! Sonia is my girl and love what she does to my hair. Also have another location on Broadway and very easy to make appointments online. ✂️❣
Our family loves going to Slick and Dapper as they are fabulous with kids and adults. Garret, Holly and Ray have made our son and daughter comfortable with the experience. We love the ambiance, music and the post-cuts treats!!
I have been to Slick & Dapper a few times over the years (Grand location) and I have never left disappointed. I got a beard trim from Tasha and left with a big grin and Slick looking beard. I highly recommend this cozy classic feeling barber shop. Definitely book an appointment online; they fill up early. Also, a reminder that they are a cash only establishment.
Good scene, talented barbers, fair price. Plus they have nice dogs and give you a Pabst if youre thirsty. My go to barber!
Ray was great.
Been going here for 3 years now. Love the folks here and the atmosphere. Dont like the recent change to a cash only system but its only because I rarely carry cash. Also worth mentioning that prices gave steadily increased over the years; I paid $20 in the beginning, $25 recently, and now $30 for a short cut. I know I could find cheaper places but I think a good hair cut is worth paying for. And considering the results and business they bring, all of those barbers deserve it.
I love the laid back, yet professional feel of the place. Garret has been great!
Fantastic place to get a quick cut at a very reasonable price. I will be recommending this spot to friends and colleagues. Fast, friendly, and efficient - they even take appointments into the evening (which is perfect for me; they even took me as a walk-in at 7:30pm!). Very impressed.
So grateful for this local barber shop gem.have been here 2 or 3 times now and always get a great cut. they even guarantee it for a week so if you want to come back, theyll fix it free of charge.they guys are really nice, always offer a beer or water when youre waiting or getting cut.always helps to make an appointment which are usually available same day.love this place
I loved the haircut so not really anything bad that I can say even if there was. Jaime cut my hair, he did an awesome job. Friendly dude
Appointment only. Good location. Plenty of street parking.Staff seemed nice. They ask you if you want a beer or soft drink while you wait.Came in looking like a mess and then Holly fixed me up good. Holly treated me right. She knows what shes doing. Got a short haircut for $23 + tip. Definitely, coming back.
Decent haircut, tried to upsell me on all of the hair products... But nice cut and a great price.
Owner cancelled on me 3 different times in just 2 weeks. Not gong back. Cancellations are always day-of, an hour before and hes always out sick. If his schedule isnt full, he doesnt show up.
Had to make an appointment but was offered a beer as I waited for my time slot. Great haircut at an affordable price. Had great conversation and my barber lined me up right! Will be returning again! Sorry no picture!
Stylish haircut at a good price, and amenities while you wait.
I am not male but LOVED the vibe in here. Close to Lisas Nails on Grand. Ladies - send your man men here. Oh so fresh and clean (Outkast)...What ? What ? Closest dispensary to Lake...who knows, just enjoy responsibility.
I really like this barber shop. They always do a great job at the hair and the service is very friendly. Plus theres a doggo, cant complain about that
Comfy barber shops with great staff, accommodating your needs with hair products and advice aplenty. Free coffee and beer, a phone call reminder the day before.Ive been coming to both locations for several years and intend to do so for many more.
Nice cut. Friendly folks. And the helpful guy at the reception desk offers coffee. I had no appointment and saw Brenda. Very happy with her work. Haircut $23.
Great prices and great haircuts! Garret gave me a really good haircut. I’ve been getting my haircuts at the Supercuts near where I work to save a few bucks. But for a few bucks more than a supercuts you get a quality haircut here which makes it worth it! Would definitely recommend.
Just had my hair cut by Rob and Slick and Dapper on Grand Ave. He saved me from previous cut (done elsewhere) that had me resembling Forest Gump. He listened attentively and got straight to work. I now feel a little more Tom Hardy in Lawless. Very happy. Rob is a confident and precise barber. Glad to have found a place I can trust. Slick and Dappers the best experience Ive found to date.
Great cut fast and at a good price!
Friendly service, easy to book, watch out they are cash only.
First time to the shop and it was awesome! The atmosphere is enjoyable, the service was excellent and Nick cut my hair perfectly! I will be returning.
Talented folks who can handle asymmetrical cuts, and the offers of a wide array of drinks were always welcome. I always left happy, and never broke the bank.
They have great barbers and offer you adult beverages 👍🏼
Love this barber shop! Quality cuts and friendly staff. Only downside their prices went up for the kids cuts.
First off, these guys and gals give EXCELLENT haircuts, for heads and faces. Second, great atmosphere. Third, excerrent prices. And lastly, everyone is super nice. I usually have a hard time articulating what I want done but the people here are always able to decipher AND deliver what I want despite my bumbling descriptions. I live in eureka, CA which is damn near three hundred miles away but I only get my hair cut here as I try to plan my haircuts with visits back down to the bay. I think that says something about the overall quality of this place.
Great place for a haircut. Nice people and great atmosphere. Classy place wirh a hint of hipster Oakland. Is THE place to go!
Ive been in 3 times and every time it has been a great experience. Everyone is kind, service is great and the price is right.
Good haircut, but I got a hard part and the guy cut my head along the length of my part
Sorry not to pleased. First & last time. Walked in because we were having a bike repair across the st, figured we would use the down time to get a hair cut. We didnt make an appointment due to circumstances, but felt very unwelcomed by the appointment clerk. Right away she asked if we had one, told her no I apologize did we need one she said yes and so we left. As we were outside looking for another place she came back out the door and said never mind she had a person open. Over all the hair cut was nice. When we went to pay found out they dont take cards. Suprising because most people dont carry cash now days. So had to walk a block to 7/11 who gives no cash back. Just felt uncomfortable the entire time we were there. Didnt feel welcoming at all.
Will miss getting my cuts here. Moved out of town.
I wasnt happy with the customer service nor my haircut. I called the day after my haircut to get the fade fixed. He said come right in and so when I get there I was told to wait up to almost 2 hrs. Thanks for telling me when I called. They also looked at me like I was crazy for thinking the fade wasnt correct. I had three people mention the crappy fade.
Good haircuts, but having to input a credit card to make an appointment for a place that is cash only really rubs me the wrong way.
This place, though somehow still trendy, has reached its peak; as a customer for multiple years, I can say that the quality of their haircuts has officially declined. When a blue collar price is upwards of $25, the 1% has won.
Best haircut on the East Bay.
A little bit formulaic, but lives up to its name period Ive never had anything less than a 4-star haircut there and Ive had pretty much every different barber over the last few years.
Sometimes, youre a man, and you need a haircut. And you want a beer. And youre walking down Grand in Oakland. And there it is. Slick and Dapper, a place to get slicked and dappered and, while you wait to be dappered up and slicked down, you can drink a beer like a working man, or a tea, like a British working man. Or water, like a San Franciscan. And then youll sit in your chair and youll get a fantastic cut, and if youre a bright man, youll get a shave as well, because at Slick and Dapper they do a proper shave, the sort that would make your Grandfather nod and go “mmhmm.”.And because youre a man, and not a boy, youll make an appointment and youll tip well because its worth every penny. So go get slicked and dappered, like I did. Because yes.- says the boyfriend. Er manfriend.
Im an older guy, late 60s, and probably mess with their vibe but they are very friendly. Nancy gives me a great cut at a great price.
Solid cut. Good staff.
Great experience!
They offer free beverages and are friendly
Best inadvertent choice I ever made. I think it may be a gay barber shop, but damn do they cut hair just how you want it
Very disorganized unhelpful front desk that often messes up reservations. Waste of time.
Great cut great price
If a Barbershop cant take walk-ins is it really even a barbershop? Let down by this spot.
The barber completely ignored what I asked him to do and totally butchered my hair, now I have to grow it out all over again. I am never ever coming back to this place.
Garrett is the best.
Looking good as a result of Slick and Dapper!
Got a haircut I was not expecting.
Friendly and queer friendly
Holly.
